If are seeking another mental game bowling tip, try using your eyes and powers of concentration.
Zero in on your bowling aim point on the lane the moment before you begin your approach.
With a fierce determination to release your bowling ball and watch it travel directly over your aim point is a winning formula proven valid over the years by countless successful bowlers. Even visualizing your ball passing over your aim point before you release is helpful.
Imagine flipping on the laser beam light switch behind each eye and see the beams converge exactly on your aim point just before beginning to walk and swing your bowling ball.
If you have heard the old term used frequently in sports to “take dead aim”, do it.
Commit fully to delivering your bowling ball precisely where you are aiming and do so with a determination to succeed.
Never casually wander up to the foul line and just release your ball in a general vicinity of your target but rather, take dead aim and commit to hitting the sight target accurately each shot you take.
You need not stare at your aim point for many seconds of time. In fact, take a look, zero in, then relax and bowl. Make sure to follow through towards your aim point as well.
It helps to bowl with little or no head movement from the start to finish of your approach.
Use your head as a weight balancing mechanism so it does not move around while you are swinging and releasing your ball.
If your head is still, you will see your target easily during your approach.
Keeping your head still promotes body balance.
Keeping your head still allows you to focus on your target without bouncing or moving your head to a position not allowing you to watch your ball arrive at your target on the lane.
Your mental game is comprised of a confident determination to make good shots, one at a time, and to deliver your bowling where accurately over your aim point. You can make accurate shots if your eyes signal your brain exactly where you intend to deliver your ball. Your eyes are the messenger to your bowling brain. If you are target shooting a rifle on a practice range, you will be taking dead aim at the target you wish to send a bullet through. It works the same way in bowling. Take dead aim.
