Oh, so you want to learn how to cheat in bowling? Sorry, this article is not what you skilled and advanced bowlers likely perceive.
There may be ways to beat your opposition by bending the rules of competition to gain an edge but the real cheating comes when you cheat yourself.
As an advanced player, you must commit to taking full advantage of the information, technology, and instructional programs available to you if you are not getting the most out of your talents or out of your game.
If you find yourself truthfully falling into only bowling in your comfort zone, then you will never maximize your abilities and get more out of your skills.
Bowling on familiar lane conditions for leagues or perhaps in local tournaments, as examples, as well as practice (where you toss a 300 game everyday on one lane bowling at a fast pace) will not press you to improve your abilities to compete in a highly competitive environment and/or on challenging lane conditions.
Once a year, it is recommended to tune up your game with an experienced instructor who can help you identify keys to your physical game and establish a regime to work on areas of your game in need of improvement.
Once a year (minimum) take your bowling ball equipment to your favorite pro shop and have your grip checked, change inserts (if appropriate), and refresh or resurface your equipment to make sure you get the most reliable ball reaction possible from each of your bowling balls.
Tuning your game and preparing your equipment is mandatory if you wish to have any chance at being able to compete at or near your potential giving yourself the best opportunities to win.
Don’t cheat yourself out of the enjoyment in getting more from your game than you currently do. Put some time and effort into the little things that can make big differences when bowling in pressure situations.
