If you are a bowler who does not hook the ball or does not hook the ball very much and is having problems with accuracy, then there is a simple tip you can try.
Align your bowling shoulder to your target.
The front part of your bowling shoulder can be thought of as an alignment aide.
Use the visualization technique of pretending you have a compact laser gun attached to the front part of your bowling shoulder and the red light of the laser beam streams precisely on your sight target on the lane.
When walking to the foul line to swing and release your
bowling ball, keep this red light beam pointing exactly on your aim point on the lane.
This mental imagery of a laser beam aligned with your target is an effective tool in developing target awareness and will reduce any possible unnecessary movement of your bowling shoulder away from your sight point.
When playing the 2nd arrow for a strike delivery alignment or closer yet to the edge of the lane, as example, this visualization technique can be extremely effective in producing a series of accurate shots in the direction your target on the lane.
One trick here is to keep your
eyes focused on your sight target.
This laser beam alignment notion also works well when playing angles deeper inside and closer to the center of the lane.
One way you can absolutely improve your bowling average is to convert routine spares and reduce the frequency of missing spares.
If you apply this imagery of aligning a red laser beam from your
bowling shoulder to the sight point on the lane between your spare and your shoulder, your accuracy in picking up spares may improve.
Accuracy is a matter of releasing your ball toward your target repeatedly.
Any technique you can develop to help increase your delivery percentage in hitting your target and converting spares will surely help your bowling scores.
