Balance Hole
Balance Holes placed on the bowlers PAP will cause earlier and smoother motion
Balance holes placed past the PAP increase flare, hook and flip. Be Careful of High Flaring Cores, Differential of .050 and higher. Do no put balance hole past the mid plane.
Balance holes placed in the REV-LEVERAGE area cause increased flare, earlier hook and a smooth controlled back end reaction
CG Placement
Tests have shown that with symmetric and low mass bias asymmetric cores, if you have two balls laid out identical but put the CG in two different locations, there is no conceivable difference in the ball motion. If you have a balance hole in a ball with a CG in a different location, the reason you will have different ball motion is because you have drilled into the core and altered the shape of the core.
In balls with Medium Mass Bias, ball motion will begin to change if you put the Mass Bias in different locations. In High Mass Bias balls there is a distinct change in ball motion if you have identical balls laid out with the Mass Bias in different locations.
Please be sure that all balls are drilled in the Flare Safe Position:

All layouts are for right-handed players. Please reverse the layout for left-handed players.
