Freeze At The Bowling Foul Line

If you wish to check your balance points, freeze at the bowling foul line.

Check if you can freeze for two seconds before moving away just after delivering your bowling ball.

It is vital to have good balance and one good way to make certain you can hold your form a moment after releasing the ball.

If you are not in a good body position when releasing your ball, you likely cannot hold your form at the foul line.

Balance is key to bowling success. Start by checking your posture in your stance.

Next, monitor your posture as you walk, swing, and deliver your bowling ball.

Where it is critical for accuracy is to be in good form as you enter your step before your slide and retain good balance throughout your sliding step movements and when releasing the ball.

Simplify your body movement throughout your entire approach and pay attention to your tempo.

Another little key in retaining balance while you bowl is your spine angle. Tilt your upper body forward, perhaps 10 or 15 degrees of spine angle tilt, as to place the front portion of your shoulders in a line directly above your knee caps. This is something that may also be practiced from the safety of your home without actually releasing your bowling ball.

If you can hold that form later in your approach as you slide and release your ball, your balance points will be in good position to repeat accurate shots.

Visualizing a well balanced approach before you begin walking and swinging your ball is key to maintaining good bowling form throughout your approach and delivery. Visualization is not enough, however, to guarantee making accurate shots.

Without a good walking pace synchronized with your swing tempo, you likely cannot arrive at your sliding step consistently in balance to make a good shot. Therefore, it is important use an athletic posture coupled with good approach tempo to be in good position to make precise shots. Avoid rushing your steps and trying to force your release and make sure you slide toward your body center to set up good form at the line. Freeze at the bowling foul line for a moment or two to check that your balance is in place.
