The Bionic was designed to be the go-to symmetrical ball, delivering true versatility across an exceptionally wide range of lane conditions. Built around the trusted NRG Hybrid coverstock, it provides a balanced blend of traction and responsiveness, while remaining easy to fine-tune through surface adjustments to suit different styles and environments. At its core, the Bionic features a weight block that was created with purpose and performance in mind. The design began as a symmetrical evolution of the Element Max Core used in the Ion Max, preserving the performance traits that made it successful. Through extensive testing, that familiar motion was refined and transformed into a powerful symmetrical shape without sacrificing its dynamic nature.
The core retains the stacked ellipse geometry that expands toward the equator, intentionally designed to be intersected during drilling to help increase differential. Like the Ion Max, the Bionic’s core responds noticeably to layout changes, giving bowlers and pro shop professionals greater precision and control. A center-heavy mass design keeps the RG low, while the addition of the flip block produces the distinctive Storm torque motion at the backend, creating a bold and recognizable finish unlike anything else available today.
Here's what Storm has to say about the Bionic:
The Bionic was engineered to be the ultimate symmetrical solution, an all-encompassing option capable of handling virtually any lane condition. Its proven NRG Hybrid coverstock formulation offers exceptional versatility, easily adjustable to match a wide range of surfaces and styles. At the heart of the Bionic lies a weight block design that simply made sense. The concept stemmed from creating a symmetrical evolution of the Element Max Core found in the Ion Max. After extensive testing, we maintained the integrity of the Ion Max’s performance DNA and “revolved” it into a highly dynamic symmetrical shape. The core features the same stacked ellipse structure that broadens toward the equator, a design strategically intended to be intersected during drilling, thereby increasing differential. As with the Ion Max, core dynamics respond more distinctly across various layouts, giving pro shop operators and bowlers alike more fine-tuned control. The center-heavy mass properties of the weight block help keep the RG low, while the addition of the flip block delivers that signature Storm torque effect off the end of the pattern, an unmistakable motion unmatched in today’s market.
