Stay in bowling form.

Avoid getting out of practice during breaks away from the game.

Those of you living in cold winter climates, summer can be a great time for vacations and spending time with family or friends. Outdoor recreations are fun and long awaited following winter months.

Regardless, try to make it to your local bowling center a time or two and bowl a few games just to keep your hand in the ball.

Keeping the precise feel of swinging a releasing your bowling ball accurately is tougher to regain after a layoff period than is bowling with good timing and with balance and tempo.

If you are averaging less than 175 and wish to get back into good bowling form, there are a few reliable tips to follow:

*Avoid raising up with your head and shoulders as you slide and release your bowling ball.

*Avoid sudden bending forward at your waist just prior to releasing your bowling ball.

*Stay in form and do not straighten your legs as you slide and deliver your bowling ball. Keep your spine angle in place until your ball has left your bowling hand.

*Regulate your ball speed control. Deliver as many shots as possible at a good speed, the same speed, repeatedly so you also develop a reliable ball reaction at spares and for strikes.

*Make a full and complete follow through each shot.

*Release your ball as your bowling hand swings past your slide shoe laces and the tip of your bowling shoe. In doing so, you will develop a consistent ball skid distance and loft distance further helping you gain consistent ball reactions through the course of your competitive sessions.

It all begins with good posture in your set-up position and retaining the same spine angle throughout your approach and delivery.

Keeping your head as motionless as possible while bowling and keep a sharp eye on your sight target on the lane.

The objective is to be in a stable and balanced position at the moment you release your ball.

Accuracy and ball skid distance controls depends on releasing your ball from a well balanced body position.

Stay in bowling form and bowl during layoffs and shorten the wait time to be competitive when it counts.
