Reverse Bowling Tips

By: bowlingball.com, 7/5/17

There are times when using reverse bowling tips can be helpful.

Although this seems strange, learning the tips before learning why the tips are presented can sometimes confirm your understanding of what is best for your game.

If you learn of the following simple and sensible advice before knowing why it is offered, you may take heed instead of just passing over using the tips when you bowl?

Here are a few bowling tips to ponder:

*Do smooth and slow stretching exercises before bowling. Slow toe touches, or mid calf touches with your legs together can help stretch bowling muscles.

*Be careful to not strain excessively or move too quickly but rather hold your stretch position for ten seconds before slowly releasing the given position.

*During your pre-shot routine, preset your spine angle in your stance position to match your preferred finish position at the foul line.

*Maintain the same spine angle forward tilt throughout your entire approach, swing, and release.

*Avoid thrusting your bowling arm through the delivery zone to add power.

*use a smooth and one piece forward swing and follow-through movements.

*Avoid hurried steps where you walk so quickly to the foul line that you have to brake suddenly. This is also useful if you accidentally slide into a sticky spot on the approach.

*Use consistent bowling ball delivery speed.

Now, what do these tips suggest?

The intent with these tips are for those of you who bowl with a bad back or sore lower back.

Bowling with a bad back is certainly no fun.

If you are careful to avoid further injury by relying on accuracy, ball speed control, and trying not to overpower your bowling ball, and warming up before bowling with slow stretching exercises, you can bowl effectively and score well without risking further injury.

Your opponents might be forced to adhere to an old adage saying “beware of the injured warrior.”

Apply these tips as part of your routine regardless of the degree of any possible back soreness. It is, of course, highly recommended to consult with your physician or physical trainer before bowling if you are experiencing back pains. Don’t be foolish and throw caution to the winds by forcing yourself to bowl if you have doubt about finishing and averting further discomfort. If ever following the notion of using reverse bowling tips, bowling with any slight injury, particularly related to your lower back, would be the time to do so.
