If you are losing ball speed and seem to be steering your ball to get it to your sight target, there is one bowling swing speed tip which is seldom communicated but will work if you practice and trust the process.
Use this tip if you are controlling or decelerating your forward swing and if you seem to be losing adequate ball speed.
The next time you get to the practice lane, use the following swing speed drill:
Swing your
bowling ball to the top of your backswing as fast as possible without losing balance and then accelerate your forward swing even faster.
The trick is to not lose your
spine angle or move your head trying to swing your ball faster than usual.
Make about ten or twelve deliveries using this technique or as many as needed to get comfortable with a fast backswing and an even faster forward swing so long as you do not lose your posture or balance.
Slow swing speeds tend to add muscle tension by controlling the pace you swing your arm.
Tension causes inconsistent releases and errant shots.
Regardless of your age, gender, or physical limitations, use this drill relative to your current swing speed.
Don’t try to compare your speed to other bowlers, particularly those who deliver their ball at a very fast speed.
The idea here is to pure your
backswing movement swiftly and freely and then gradually accelerate your forward swing.
Once you can use this technique in practice and begin to trust this swing motion, you will find your swing will speed up overall and loosen while providing a consistent ball reaction.
This one bowling swing speed tip can help you gear-up your swing tempo and build a free and unrestricted swing.
