Bowl With Steely Eyes And A Steady Head

If you wish to sharply focus on your target and move with good body balance, bowl with steely eyes and a steady head.

It can be surprising how important these two tasks are to your game if you do them routinely.

Steely eyes is simply a term for sharp focus on your sight target and a commitment to hit the target at an appropriate bowling ball delivery path angle entering the mid-lane based on your given delivery style.

Bowl with little or no head movement from the start to finish of your approach.

Since your head can weigh between 5% and 10% of your total body weight and since your head is at the top of your body, it makes sense to keep your head as motionless as possible while you walk to the foul line and swing your bowling ball.

Keeping your head still promotes body balance.

Keeping your head still allows you to focus on your target without bouncing or moving your head to a position not allowing you to watch your ball arrive at your target on the lane.

If you bowl with sharp eye focus on your target, your brain signals your bowling body parts precisely where you intend for your ball to go once released down the lane.

After your pre-shot routine is complete and you assume your stance position on the approach, take a breath in and one out and then bowl with steely eyes and a steady head.

Another key in accuracy and good shotmaking is to key your release of the bowling ball at the same moment each shot at or very near the bottom of your forward swing arc. Feel your thumb quickly exit the ball and hand move upwards in the direction of your target. Using any method to assist a clean release directed to your target is a big step toward improved accuracy.
