If you are working on your game and are currently averaging between 150 and 175, then there are two things you can focus on to improve your accuracy.
Control your loft distance to and your bowling ball speed.
Loft distance and ball speed work together giving you the best chance at controlling your ball skid distance which, in turn, helps control your ball reaction in the mid-lane and at the break point down the lane.
Controlling loft distance means you must develop the feel for releasing your ball at the same moment each shot relative to your sliding bowling shoe at the bottom of your forward swing arc.
If you release one shot sooner than another, it is difficult to control how far your ball clears the foul line and when it enters the lane surface.
A good goal is to release your ball at the very bottom of your forward swing so the momentum built from walking and swinging your ball help the ball land onto the lane slightly beyond the foul line consistently.
Releasing your ball too late means the ball goes airborne longer than it should and can cause your ball to bounce excessively and skid inconsistently.
Letting your ball go too soon means your ball may bounce on the approach floor behind the foul line and lose power and skid distance control.
One helping factor to control your loft distance is to develop the feel for releasing your ball at the same speed each shot, or as close to the same speed, regardless if you are delivering your ball at your top speed or at a lesser speed within your range of control.
When you combine speed control and loft distance control your chances at also controlling your overall ball skid distance improve greatly.
