Bought a Scorchin' Inferno for my son as an extra hooking ball. Loves it, as it rolls a lot earlier than his Inferno but doesn't roll out...inside or out it seems to have a good midlane roll and still make it through the heads.

Ive been waiting for that one strong piece, that one piece that gave me the advantage ( for a tweener) on the heavy oil patterns. That sought after reaction off the back end even when the friction area was small. This piece it THAT ball. I was so ready for something that gave me the reaction I desperately needed on the heavy oil that when I heard this ball was coming I couldn’t wait to get it in my hands. Needless to say I wasn’t disappointed in the least.
This ball reads the oil like a champ and reacts incredibly strong off the back of the pattern. It’s very strong and like everything in the Motiv line STRONG through the pins. The hitting power of this ball is incredible and the predictability off the spot makes this ball my go to out of the bag Game 1.
I drill 2 pieces with my favorite layouts one pin up and one pin down…for me in most cases the pin down drillings perform the best. In this case both layout performed well as the pin down allowed me to get in a zone left deeper than I have been able to play to date while the pin up version was longer but stronger off the friction. The combination of these to layouts gives me a ton of flexibility as the lanes transition and keeps me in my comfort zone for maximum games!
If you are looking for that new high end piece to add to your arsenal or if you are new to MOTIV don’t be afraid of this one! You will not be disappointed! Give it a try---GET MOTIVATED!

Ascent Pearl-----
Far from Entry Level the Ascent Pearl gives me that look I need late in a set or that short pattern on wood look without the over/under reaction most reactive equipment provides. Its like having a urethane advantage without everyone complaining because your tearing up the lanes with Urethane. In my mind this ball is entry level only in process as you don’t sacrifice striking power or reaction based on that price point. This ball could easily sell for much more and performs like it costs more…Don’t be fooled by the pretty colors because this ball is anything but girly!
Smooth off the friction with the ability to get through the heads is what means the most to me. My ball speed is on the medium side so I really need something to get through the heads. I don’t have the luxury of piping it at 20+ mph so I have to rely on my equipment to do what its intended to do. The ability to get down the lane and retain the energy needed to strike consistently is a true bonus as you usually don’t get that from a ball at this price point. Needless to say I was presently surprised at what this ball brings considering I expected it to be a ball I didn’t get to use much! Yes I was surprised ---OH! and the Chicks Dig it too!

Ascent Solid---
INNER CORE: Recon™
COVERSTOCK: MOTIVator-Z™ Solid Reactive
FINISH: 1000 Wet Sand
15# SPECS: RG: 2.59, DIFF: .025
What a great addition at a great price point. I understand it’s difficult to always go out and buy a new ball at $200+ every time something new comes out. If you’re a beginner or mid level player you don’t always need or sometimes can’t even handle the high end premium pieces. That’s what so nice about the Ascent line of equipment by Motiv. This ball like its pearl counterpart is far from what you would expect from an entry level ball for the price of an entry level product. The Ascent solid brings decent length with the smooth transition and reaction off the back of the pattern. It’s not jerky nor over reactive but provides a smooth curved arc to the pocket. To me this piece is very controllable and predictable. Its strong in the oil yet not overly flippy which gives the mid range player as well as beginner the control they need while providing the hitting power seen in some upper end releases. Its controllability is also enticing to the higher average and higher rev players as it provide a predictable roll and arc to the pocket. This ball is by no means your low end entry level ball. For the money it something you may want to add to your collection. For me the pearl fits my needs for dryer conditions or shorter oil patterns but when there is carry down you still need something that’s not going to give you too much over under..This is your piece…

Who doesn't love a black bowling ball and the graphics are cool too! But the really cool part is that doesn't even scratch the surface on the versatility and consistency of this piece. Combining the Leverage cover stack of the Ambush with the Gear core of the OG shock creates an AMAZING piece that will fit the bag of all players. this medium oil killer fits well in the bag for all level of players and will be a great league ball as well as a monster on the initial transition.

Wow.. What can I say – for anyone who knows me they know the Yellow ball (Forza Redline) is always difficult to pry from my hand. For some reason that ball has always had everything I need from a benchmark ball and a ball that just seems to knock down the pins when I need them the most. I never thought I could replace it. Well along comes the new Chronic Paranoia and just like that – not only a replacement but an upgrade as well.
The Chronic Paranoia features the wildly innovative Oblivion core and new Agitator™ Solid Reactive cover stock, delivering impressive ball motion. This medium oil monster should be the first ball out of your bag each week and will provide you with many options on many different types of lane patterns. Rev dominant players will be able to open up the lane while speed dominant and straighter players will notice the length and stronger delayed hook and continuation the Chronic Paranoia brings.
Sometimes you find a ball that fits in many instances. This is a ball that you may not want to ever put down because of its versatility. Its consistency off the spot down lane and ability to still read the friction off the back of the pattern when playing deeper angles makes this one a must have and always the first ball out of your bag! Motiv has done it again!

Forza GT
The new Forza GT is a ball that I have anxiously awaited. I have been a huge fan of the Forza Redline since it was released. The Forza Redline provided me a great mid lane read with a much stronger back end than the original Forza. The new Forza GT takes it one step further. The new Hybrid Coverstock ( Helix HR) provides the traction needed on Medium Oil patterns with both length and control. The pearlized coverstock adds the hitting power and continuation we have all come to love from Motiv equipment. For me the pin up v ersion provided some added length with a very similar shape and was a great compliment to the pin down version which read much earlier in the mid lane but wasn’t over reactive. The Forza GT is a great complimental piece to the Redline for me as it will provide me with the additional shapes needed to compete at the PBA level while still providing the predictability of the Forza line.

Freestyle
If you have been waiting for a lower cost piece for dry lane conditions that provides high performance the Freestyle is for you. What a great addition to the line up as it fits right behind the Tag for me. Very good length with recovery not seen in most lower level balls. Great for house shots for older bowlers with lower ball speeds as well as high rev players looking for something to give them length. As usual the continuation of the Motiv line of balls is unprecedented. The two color options not only look great but seem to provide a slightly different reaction as well. For me the Pink color cover seemed to be a bit steeper on the back end while the blue cover seemed to be a bit more controlled. Both balls performed at a higher level than what I originally expected. Either way this ball is quite a nice addition to the Motiv line of equipment and the price point makes it an attractive addition for all levels of bowler.

Freestyle- Rush
So who doesn’t love a lower price point piece that provides everything you should expect from a high performance ball? I know I do! The pearl Freestyle Rush is a boost from the original freestyle line to provide more down lane shape while also adding the additional continuation we have all come to love from the Motiv product line. The Freestyle Rush retains energy in high friction environments while retaining its energy longer for powerful continuation through the pins. This ball is a great compliment to the new Motiv Tank Rampage in that natural progression as the lanes transition to high friction progression. The price point definitely makes this ball attractive as it provides that light oil piece for a price everyone can afford. The added differential provides a greater flare potential which in turn provides a stronger back end reaction usually reserved for higher performance rated pieces. This ball is definitely a piece to have and will definitely fall into your light oil progressions! The Free Style Rush is a must have ball – get yours today!

MOTIV GRAFITTI TAG
All I can say is this ball is unbelievable. This is the piece everyone should have. Its incredibly clean through the front and unbelievably consistent and strong on the back. The motion is predictable yet strong. It’s a motion the industry has yet to witness. If you are not a current Motiv user this is definitely the ball that can change your mind. I recently traveled to El Paso to compete in the UBSC Nationals. I have to say I wasn’t surprised that the Tag came into play and didn’t disappoint. This years patterns have more volume but are quite a bit shorter in length than usual. The Tag did its job as expected pushing cleanly through the fronts and providing a clean and consistent motion on the back. I watched as others were struggling to get any sort of consistent reaction. The Tag was incredible on these patterns as well as the BJ International pattern as well.
I drilled 2 Tags for El Paso – Both Pin up – 1 with a motion hole with the thought that they would provide me a natural progression as the lanes began to break down. The motion hole ball definitely provided a more angular shape off the friction. This definitely came into play early on in the block when the higher volume pushed the ball further into the friction prior to its break point. This extra motion is just what I needed ..As the set went on into singles Tag #2 with out the motion hole allowed me to make a very small adjustment while still playing the same part of the lane. What a great compliment these two pieces were!
Bottom line is if you don’t get this ball your missing out! See what all the hype is about ! Get a TAG today!

The Jackal line has long been one of my favorites with the Ghost topping the list. The only thing for me lacking was the additional front of the lane traction that the Ambush provides. Sometime equipment just feels right in your hand whether it be core design or layout is JUST FEELS RIGHT - The Jackal line has been that piece for me! - Trust me when I say this piece is strong but also provides the finish we have come to expect from the Jackal Line of balls. THis one will not dissapoint and as a great complement to the Ghost for all levels of players!

OCTANE!!!!!
My definition of Octane is now- Length, angularity and power. This ball is completely off the charts NASTY!!! This ball shows an incredible ability to get through the front part of the lane and the most angular back end motion to date from Motiv. From the average league bowler to the top professional bowlers in the world this piece offers something for everyone. The ball is initially rated for Medium oil patterns but performs well on med-heavy and med-light oil patterns as well. This monster will allow even some of the rev challenged players to get in deeper with the big boys. What I liked most is what it provided me on the med-light oil patterns that I bowled on in the PBA Sr masters event on the burn and double burn. The Octanes length and smoothness through the front end of the pattern allowed me to continue to use it with only minimal adjustment. I was able to stay a bit more right away ( 20-18 at the arrows) versus having to get in deeper with everyone else and deal with a major transition. The key was the room right this ball creates with its ability to come back hard and strong from the friction right!!!! An just like every release Motiv has put out over the past few years this ball is CONTINUOUS though the pins retaining its energy for the right place at the right time!! Get this ball and your game will never be the same!!

Quite difficult to ever replace anything in the Primal line after the Primal Rage (Red Ball) success. But this one is definitely a keeper. Much more predictable in the oil than the red ball and a bit stronger for me on the back the primal fear brings a much more overall consistent roll and recovery than many of its predecessors. This combined with the continuation through the pins that Motiv fans have come to expect. This ball is versatile and allows many different angles of attack on a number of different patterns. It provides length as well and a smooth and consistent but strong reaction off the friction.
Utilizing the new Voracity™ Pearl Reactive cover stock, the Primal Fear delivers more power and continuation than ever before. Voracity™ is the most aggressive and most angular pearl cover ever used in the Primal™ line. The Primal Fear is tuned with a 5000 Grit LSP finish out of box but can certainly be manipulated additionally to fit your needs.
The Primal Fear is a great addition for those who love to see angularity in a medium to heavy oil ball. Great for centers with higher viscosity oils as well as sport and PBA pattern shots as well as many typical house patterns. Put fear into the eye of your competition. Get your Primal Fear today from your local pro shop.

Can You say SKID-----FLIP--Say it with me S-K-I-D FLIP..

If you dont have this in your MOTIV arsenal your truly missing out..

The All NEW Primal Impulse is the first true skid/flip ball produced by Motiv. This is the ball I've been waiting for providing just the right motion down lane off the friction. The continuation throgh the pins is incredible and I must say its color scheme is certainly an attention getter! This ball will give you the length you need with the LEFT TURN motion (turn signal not included !) desired !!!! From the benchmark Sigma tour and the oil devouring Raptor this ball fits in just the right spot and WILL provide you with the ever desired Skid FLip motion complementing your already AWESOME Arsenal...

Once again as always dont just take my word for it..Look for a MOTIV Demo Days in your area and Try it for yourself!

Motiv Primal Rage Review.

So what is all the Hype about this RED BALL? RED BALL, RED BALL , RED BALL Is it really that good? The answer to this question didn’t take long for me to realize –YES it is that good! Adding this weapon to my already strong line of MOTIV equipment is just what the doctor ordered. At some point you ask yourself what else can they come up with where could this product line go and what’s missing. Well the RED Ball- Primal Rage certainly answered that question. Absolutely the strongest , most devastating ball in the line the Primal Rage picks up where the Primal Scream left off. Incredible reaction, smooth roll and even stronger continuation through the pins. What an incredible addition to the already long and strong Thrash Frenzy as the Primal Rage brings in the ability to get in the oil and make that all so elusive left motion coming off the back of the pattern. This is the ball I’ve been waiting on for PBA event as it provides me the optimal shape and room on heavier oil conditions that are prominent at PBA stops. I promise you won’t be disappointed with this piece as it is really that good. Come get Motiv-ated with us and experience the RED Ball everyone is talking about.

RAPTOR ATTACK REVIEW
INNER CORE: Predator
COVERSTOCK: Atomix SFP Reactive
BOX FINISH: 2000 Wet Sand / Power Gel Polish
15# RG: 2.46, DIFF: .060, INT DIFF: 015
BALL LAYOUT: 60 X 5 X 30
This ball is an incredible compliment to the original RAPTOR. The pearlized shell gives me the added length I need when the lanes begin to transition but adds some additional angle allowing me more room right as the lanes break down. The biggest additon in my mind is the continuation provided through the pins helping take out those ever nasty corner pins. This ball fits well and will provided you another weapon on the typical house shot as well as other challenging lane conditions as it allow you the ability to play straight up the boards early and swing it as they transition with out sacarificing carry or dealing with an over/under reaction.
In my line up it fits as follows:
RAPTOR---HEAVY OIL
Raptor Attack
Sigma Tour
Thrash
Primal Impulse
Backdraft
QZ2 Black/Blue---LIGHT OIL
With an arsenal like that there is NOTHING you cant beat!!!! GET MOTIV-ATED TODAY! What are U waiting for?
The new pearl RAPTOR ATTACK strikes with a vengeance. It is the first asymmetric pearl ball ever released by MOTIV. Utilizing Atomix SFP Reactive cover technology, the Raptor Attack is very long and clean down the lane with a quick response to friction on the backend.

Likes:If you want strength this is the ball for you....No MOTIV joins the ranks of demolition in the heavy oil patterns. Ive been searching for a ball that fits my game in the oil and now I have that MONSTER in the Raptor. With the early read and conservation of energy this ball allows me to get through the heavy oil and still make the turn when needed. The bonus is that this baby still retains the energy needed to smash the pocket. This is by far the stronget ball in my bag and first out when im bowling some of the heavier oil patterns on the PBA circuit. If your A game is in or you are looking for something for those oily patterns you have to have a Raptor! With this ball complimenting my Sigma Tour and new Primal Impulse I have everything I need !

As one of the newest members of the MOTIV staff and PBA regional player it was important for me to have a ball I felt confident with that allowed me to match up with most of the PBA lane conditions I see. I was aprehensive at first in switch over from some of the other ball companies but it was obvious once I threw the SIGMA tour that MOTIV has garnered a spot amongst the elite! This ball has everything you can ask from an incredible mid lane read to an awesome continuation through the pins. It has the ablitiy to get throgh the initial oil and still retain the hitting power I need. The ball roll is so consistant that you know what your reaction will be each and every shot. From the high speed High Rev player to the Low Speed down and in player this is definitely one to have in your bag!

Ive been waiting for a piece that truly allows me to continue to stay right after the transition in long blocks. The ability to stay right while having a piece that can retain energy is almost NON- existent. Well the wait is over. The new Motiv Supra Rally now provides the length you need down lane during those late transition games while still retaining the energy needed to clear out the corners as well. The ability to stay right – especially if that is your A game is a critical point in being successful and making that cut late in the block. The DRS (Drag Reduction System) Pearl Reactive cover makes this ball long and angular – I already loved the Supra and Supra Enzo and this one is bigger and better! Quite the additional for bowlers of all skill levels!

Tank Rampage
So Im not or have never been a big Urethane guy – guess I just never felt like I had the hand for it or because of my tilt never really had an issue getting most any piece through the fronts so I never really needed it. Well times change and needs and options do as well- so even an old dog learns new tricks. The New Tank Rampage certainly has opened my eyes to new possibilities. Yes, I have shifted slightly to the dark side and have fallen in love with a Urethane ball. Something about this piece is quite different for any other urethane piece I have dabbled with previously. Something quite extraordinary about this one that has made me rethink my ball progression on shorter patterns and the burn, double burn patterns I run into in many PBA50 events.
The new core and cover combination has made this one of the strongest if not the strongest urethane balls ever made. The overall hook this ball provides is something not normally seen in a urethane ball but the controllable arc and consistency of this ball reaction is what really makes it stand out. If you encounter higher friction conditions you have to take a hard look at the Tank Rampage. The ability to tighten angles on high friction conditions and the ability to control the pocket is what champions are made of. This ball will give you the confidence to continue to play smart and increase your capabilities when other players continue to move left to chase the oil! Tank Rampage – the NEW URETHANE Monster!

MOTIV Thrash---January 13th 2012

For me this ball is alot more than I originally expected. Released as a medium oil ball it can be quite strong depending on the layout. Its truely an excellent piece espicially at its medium price point. Most impressive is its STRONG continuaton through the pins and smooth , strong, controllable arcing motion off the friction. It fits well into any bowling arsenal as your medium to medium strong piece. For me it fits nicely between the long skid\flip strong Primal Impulse and my very predictable house shot killer Sigma Tour. I can play in and along the oil line with the Thrash and swing to the dry and unleash its power into the pins. Meshing the proven QZ2 core with it's solid coverstock make the Thrash a perfect compliment to those of you who love the Backdraft. I at this price point you just don't get this type of pop and reaction!!!!!

So come and get Motiv-ated with us---keep an open mind ---You wont be dissapointed!

The new Motiv Tribal is quite surprising. Utilizing the proven Primal Rage (Aka. Red Ball) cover stock and new Halogen light bulb weight block this ball provides quite amazing results. It’s very angular but much longer than its predecessor. Its ability to get through the fronts and still make the strong angular move we come to know and love with the Primal Rage makes this ball a must have. It’s a ball motion that will provide great benefit both on your typical house shot as well as many of the tougher tour patterns. The Tribal’s strong back end motion and ability to get down the lane are definite plusses when adding to your current arsenal.
I recently tested (2) of this new release –one pin above the ring finger and one pin centered below both fingers. In general for me the pin down layouts seems to perform better but obviously that is always a matter of your personal style and ball roll. In this case the pin down version versus the pin up version provided me two quite different looks. The pin down as expected was much stronger early allowing the ball to read the pattern and provide a strong angular but controlled reaction. This was a great ball down progression from my Primal Rages. The pin up version on the other hand provided me with much needed added length and strong angular motion that set the two apart. The combination of these two bring me that additional added punch when my rage is too much!
This is truly a great additional to the family…Come get Motiv-ated.

So you’re looking for that heavy oil ball something that reads the lane early and can make the turn down lane. If you are like me this is the wish of all bowlers but always seems to be that one thing we can’t achieve. The Motiv Trident is that piece. For me the ability to have a ball in my bag that will provide the ability to read the lane early and not stop on the back end is usually unreachable. Most everything in my bag will read the lane when I add surface but always tends to not hit with much force leaving flat 10’s most shots. The Trident provides me with the ability to play a more comfortable line to the pocket even on the longest of patterns. The Turbulent asymmetric core enables the ball to retain more energy and produce powerful continuation. Coercion HVH (High Volume Hybrid) cover stock is also new technology. It gives the Trident superb mid-lane read and an incredibly strong transition down lane.
At a recent event on the 52ft Badger pattern the Trident was still quite strong but the continuation was certainly the key. The ability to provide some angle to the pocket is key in getting the ten pin out. For those of you whose A game is deep inside the Trident will allow you to get deep inside and still recover to carry the corners. This ball is a must have and fits well in the Heavy oil spot in your arsenal. The performance of this ball speaks for itself! Get a Trident you will thank yourself for it!

Well, if anyone knows me they know when the SIGMA TOUR first came out I always said I only need 3 balls in my bag. A sigma tour, a sigma tour and a sigma tour – Well needless to say I was floored to have to opportunity to have another SIGMA in the line and figured there is no way this new ball could ever stand up to my high expectations. Well after having the opportunity to punch this one up and try it I have to say I AM NOT DISSPOINTED AT ALL! As a matter of fact I truly didn’t expect this one to be as strong as it is for me .. not only the shape I came to love but that and more! The mid lane read and down lane shape really fit my game and as I’ve gotten older I really need shape. This ball fits for me after my Ghost and fits well around my Black Venom. If you’re looking for consistency and a repeatable shape that gets through the mid lanes definitely give this one a try!
