Review:

The new urethane Combat Tank (Limited Edition) features the hybrid Alchemy cover and the Recon weight block, which has never been used before to drive a MOTIV urethane ball. The Alchemy cover gives easier length and greater continuation without sacrificing that smooth urethane ball motion. What that means for the bowler is that the Combat Tank can be used in situations where the fresh oil in the heads starts to diminish and regular urethane starts to turn up earlier than expected. Additionally, the Recon core assists with the length needed to accomplish this on either house or sport shot conditions. I found myself easily able to throw this ball on 33’ PBA Cheetah and turn around the next day to throw it on a typical house shot. This ball sits perfect in my bag with my other tanks and gives me a deadly option on a wide variety of lane conditions. This ball is a must have is you’re looking for a versatile urethane ball to place in your bag. However, this ball is Limited Edition, so don’t wait to get your hands on one!

Summary:
Wrapped with the all new HFS (High Friction Solid) Coverstock, developed for the Forza SS, the Sigma core is back and better than ever. The intent when developing this ball was to engineer a bowling ball to provide both incredible versatility and loads of hook potential. This bowling ball will absolutely be one that all bowlers will love and appreciate. This ball is incredibly smooth and strong through every part of the lane including the explosive hit power when going through the pins. I drilled this ball to mirror my current benchmark and favorite MOTIV ball, the Chronic Paranoia. With the same layout, I have noticed that the SS is a few boards stronger than the Chronic without losing the continuation that I want to see from a benchmark ball. I have only thrown the ball a few times and I’m very impressed from what I have seen. I can’t wait to test this ball on some sport conditions and in the tournament setting going forward. You can’t go wrong having this ball in your bag for the upcoming league season, the Sigma core is back and better than ever!

Summary:

The MOTIV Freestyle Rush was given a differential boost and new shell to provide more shape down lane than the original Freestyle balls. With the NEW Agility Low Friction Pearl(LFP) Reactive cover, the Rush retains more energy in high friction environments so it can deliver a stronger response down lane. Myself being a more power and rev dominant player, I find myself using this ball first out of my bag in medium to low volume house shots. The layout I used places the pin directly above my ring finger, this gives me the most strength out of the Rush overall. I can play multiple angles successfully on fresh House conditions and use the Rush when Sport conditions begin to burn up in the later games. This ball is amazing for the price point and a must have for any bowler who wants to create some controlled angular shape on the lanes.

Review:

The Jackal is back and stronger than ever before! This strong asymmetrical ball is a great choice for bowlers like me who are speed dominant and are looking for maximum hook potential out of a ball. This ball will cut through the higher volume oil patterns and is great for blending the over/under as you start to transition left on your typical house shot without losing carry and hit power. The NEW Coercion HV2 (High Volume 2nd Edition) cover creates more friction and has been tuned for the Jackal Rising with a 2000 Grit LSS finish to maximize hook potential. No matter what pattern I’m bowling on from House to Sport, I know the Rising has the traction and hit power I need to deliver from multiple angles on the lane. Compared to my Jackal Ghost, the Rising is earlier in the lane and gives me more control in the oil and responds appropriately to the dry. I’m looking forward to the strength and versatility of this ball with my next string of tournaments in the New Year.

Summary:
The Lethal Paranoia is the second ball using the awesome new Hexion coverstock technology, originally introduced with the Trident Quest. The Hexion Hybrid reactive coverstock provides a clean cover that produces an insane backend reaction towards the pins. Paired with the Oblivion weight block, it compliments the angular backend motion to flip hard at the end of any oil pattern. If you thought the Trident Quest could make a turn on the backend, then the Lethal will absolutely blow your mind. I have not been able to provide this much backend motion with any other recent MOTIV release and it fits perfectly in my bag right under both my Trident Quests. I am able to play almost any area of the lane on various patterns from house to sport and know that this ball will recover and shatter the pins. My Octane Carbon creates a similar motion on the backend but the Lethal is stronger and provides a better read from the front of the lane whereas the Octane responds only on the backend. Adding some MOTIV Power Gel Polish, I was able to create some more shape on the backend and play larger angles without the ball sliding through my breakpoint. The Hexion cover on the Lethal gives me that added edge for more difficult conditions and perfects the Paranoia line. This ball is a must have for any level of bowler from league to tournament play, do yourself a favor and go pick one up today from your Local Pro Shop!

Summary:

The MOTIV Octane Carbon possesses the brand new dual-density Injector core and Agitator MXR (MaXimum energy Retention) Pearl Reactive cover stock. This new combination is nothing like anything MOTIV has released in the past, the new core and cover combination is a head turner for sure. I am a huge fan of the angle this ball creates with the layout that I selected to use. The layout places the pin directly above my middle finger, helping the ball push a bit further down the lane for a strong and angular motion towards the pocket. Keep the shine on the ball or knock it off, you’ll find that there is a lot more to this ball when it comes to being versatile. This ball proves there is absolutely a very exciting future in store with MOTIV, see your local Pro Shop Operator and pick one up today!

Summary:
The new Tag Cannon is a force to be reckoned with on dry lanes, even some of the more challenging house conditions will not stand a chance. The ball creates easy length on higher friction lane surfaces and a fast response at the back of the lane. This is achieved with the proven Halogen core and the new SFP (Skid Flip Pearl) cover stock. The Tag Cannon explodes on the backend of the pattern still retaining plenty of energy to be a nightmare for bowling pins. I personally love throwing this on typical house conditions because it allows me to play all directions and angles, reducing my need to make a ball change in the later games. On sport conditions, when the front of the lanes start to become frustrating, the Tag Cannon versatility shines when it allows me to get past the mess in the front without losing reaction. This ball absolutely exceeded my expectations and is awesome to watch roll down the lane.

Summary:

The Tank Rampage is the strongest Urethane ball that MOTIV has released to date with both a new cover stock and new core specifications it dominates in the most difficult wet/dry conditions. The new Alchemy cover was tested and developed by our MOTIV PBA staffers, creating overall hook but controlled Urethane ball motion. The new core numbers create a higher RG and tighter track flare to make this the most versatile Tank to date. I have enjoyed throwing the Tank from day 1, it gives me expanded versatility on the house shot and sport conditions when I need more control throughout the lane. The house I bowl league in is very inconsistent when it comes to how the lanes play and when my Freestyle Rush is not getting the job done on specific day, the Tank Rampage comes in and dominates whatever is pooled out there on the lanes. I am confident with the Rampage on a vast array of lane conditions and know I’m going to get amazing performance no matter the conditions.

Review:

The Trident Quest is a HUGE step forward for the Motiv brand! The all new Hexion™ Reactive coverstock is a fast response skid-flip shell that easily slips through the front of the lane to deliver an incredibly violent backend snap. This is something we have never seen before with Motiv and it fills a huge spot in the product line. I originally drilled up the pin up layout when I first got the ball to see how good this backend motion was, and boy I was suprised. The ball gets some traction in the first half of the lanes and still had the violent backend I was expecting with pins flying all over the place. I am able to use this ball all 3 games on a low-volume house shot, and transitioned with the lanes all the way until I was touching the ball return. The second layout, pin down, is still fairly fresh for me but gives me even more traction in the front of the lanes when they are slick without giving up any of the backend motion. I am so happy with this ball and I'm expecting these to come in handy with a few upcoming tournaments on sport conditions. The Quest is without a doubt one of my all-time favorites and I can't wait to see what else is going to revealed on our "Quest" at Motiv.

Summary:

The MOTIV United Revolt is the first Pearl offered in the very popular Revolt line of bowling balls. The combination of the new Helix HFP Reactive technology cover and the low RG Vanquish core gives me versatility across many lane conditions and various lane surfaces. From House to Sport and to Tournament play, I always seem to find a spot in my bag for this monster of a ball. Playing straight up the boards or covering them all left to right, I do not see any lack of performance out of the United Revolt in the 2 months I’ve been using it regularly. During tournaments, I am very confident to switch to this ball once my Jackal Ghost starts to run out of energy in the middle of a block. The layout I used places the pin right above my ring finger with about a 2-inch shift of the CG from the Grip Centerline. This creates added versatility for me because no matter where I’m looking down lane or where I am standing, I know this ball will come roaring back and hit with a ton of energy. If you’re looking for a ball that can do it all, look no further than the United Revolt. Pick one up today at your local Pro Shop, and start a revolution!

Summary:
The new Venom Shock Pearl features our new Hexion cover and a dual density weight block, the VSP is the perfect complement to the original solid. In comparison to the original solid, the VSP has a more angular backend motion thanks to the dual density structure and the Hexion MFP Pearl coverstock. The VSP creates easy length, has an amazing response to friction and hits hard. Depending on which house I am bowling league, most of the time the VSP has been the first ball out of my bag. On higher volume house shots, I find myself switching to the ball in game 3 after the lanes break down a bit and my Lethal Paranoia becomes sporadic. I’ve been able to find some more versatility in the VSP bringing the surface down to 3000 without polish, blending different shots more consistently without having to worry about inconsistent reaction. This ball is another must-have in the Shock line, perfect for leagues and tournaments alike!
