Review:
The Blue Coral Venom is something I’ve anticipated for quite a while. While being a huge fan of the Venom line, this is something I know I’m going to be throwing a lot in the future. I first threw the Blue Coral with a pair of Venom Shocks. This combination makes me feel unbeatable. The Blue Coral showed me how controllable it is going down the lane, but producing a shape that isn’t too slow or too strong. With the Hybrid cover, the range of shapes that this can create is going to be well-utilized as it also gives me that benchmark-type feel as well. At the same time, I feel I can get my hands in this late in any block as well.

Likes:

Dislikes:

Summary:
With this still being early in the year, the releases haven’t been nothing short of amazing. The Blue Coral Venom will be one of the pieces that I will be drilling multiples of. The asym core and the hybrid cover, I just feel there will be an insane amount of layouts that can be used on this and produce the results that are wanted. You will want more than one!!

Review:
With the new Chronic Paranoia being MOTIV’s new benchmark ball, I thought it was fitting to test with the former benchmark ball, the Forza Redline – which I have a similar layout on. Immediately, I found my Chronic Paranoia to be extremely controllable from a variety of angles. Unlike the Forza Redline, the solid coverstock has given me a little more versatility with both ball reaction and the coverstock itself. The Chronic Paranoia is more smoother through the breakpoint than the original Paranoia, but still has great continuation through the pins. I did find my Chronic Paranoia to be slightly earlier than the Forza Redline and a little more backend shape as well.

Likes:
Great Continuation
Extremely Controllable
Versatile Coverstock

Dislikes:
None

Summary:
The Chronic Paranoia does it all – continuous, controllable, versatile. The term benchmark for me translates to this ball should go everywhere with you. The Chronic Paranoia has a well deserved spot in my bag. It is apart of the perfect 1-2 punch with every ball around it in the current lineup. With the Oblivion Core creating an angular reaction as seen in the original Paranoia, the solid coverstock helps slow down the reaction and does not sacrifice any hitting power.

Review:
As a fan of both the Venom Shock and all other pieces wrapped in the Infusion Pearl Cover, the expectations were nothing but great for the Fatal Venom. I compared mine with the Venom Shock Pearl which was in the previous spot on the ball chart, which occasionally still appears in my bag pending on the condition I’m competing on. While I rarely use any polish, I applied a 3000 pad to knock some of the shine off to see more of the motion that the Fatal Venom is capable of. While just as clean through the front part of the lane as any pearl should be, I was impressed how much more motion and continuation is created by the Fatal Venom. It creates a similar shape as the Venom Shock but in a much shorter distance downlane due to the Infusion Cover creating a much faster shape.

Likes:
Infusion Cover
Fast response to friction
Benchmark type reaction

Dislikes:
None

Summary:
The Fatal Venom gives me that benchmark pearl-type reaction. As a fan of using the Gear Core on a lot of fresh patterns, the Fatal Venom provides an impressive downlane shape while keeping that same energy as the lanes transition. The cover versatility is far-beyond impressive. Surface matching to each players style is important with this to help give each player the performance out of the Fatal Venom as they deserve.

Review:
With the amount of success I’ve had with the Forge and Forge Fire, I instantly became excited upon details of the Forge Flare. Fittingly, I compared all three together. The immediate reaction I got after the few couple shots was “OMG this ball hooks!!” The downlane motion was more impressing to me as the amount of continuation for something this strong is simply unbelievable. Typically, balls that are this strong in cover have a tendency to go more forward on the backend - I can’t think of another way to say that the Forge Flare defies this. It’s fairly common for me to start with the original Forge on fresher patterns. While having the option to transition to the Forge Fire as the lanes transition, I now have the option to start deeper in the puddle or go to the Forge Flare as it is able to cover more boards without sacrificing any power downlane.

Likes:
Detonator Core
Minimal Laneshine
Very controllable

Dislikes:
None

Summary:
The Forge Flare in simplest terms is the strongest symmetric ball ever produced by MOTIV Bowling, and I like it a lot. There is no style that this ball will not fit. From the rev dominant to the speed dominant, and all in between, the Forge Flare should be in everyone’s arsenal. The ability of how well it handles the heavier volumes is impressive, especially when given the option to stand further into the puddle, and how it responds to the friction. The Forge Line, with no pun intended, just got that much stronger.

The Forza GT is going to be strongly versatile on numerous patterns, both house and sport. I compared my Forza GT to my Primal Rage Remix, as both contain a Hybrid coverstock. I easily noticed how the Forza GT gets into a heavier roll through the front and middle part of the lane. Having a similar layout on my Rage Remix, I did notice the smoother motion on the backend of the lane. With the signature continuation on the backend, the shape does remind me the Covert Revolt and original Forza – which is still amazing and a favorite to a lot of bowlers. The combination of the Forza GT and Rage Remix will a great combination, especially for those that compete in numerous tournaments and bowls in multiple houses.

Summary:
The Forza GT will easily become the benchmark ball for a lot of bowlers. It’s heavy rolling, has a smooth shape on the backend, and keeps hooking without sacrificing any hitting power. It wouldn’t shock me to hear that this may be the best Forza yet. The Forza GT will be a great compliment to many of the other MOTIV balls, both current and older.

I tested my Forza Redline against the original Forza. It is such an easy 1-2 combination with each other. When the original Forza is a little too strong in the front part of the lane, the Redline gets through with ease. The continuation with the Redline is unreal. I quickly realized how many different parts of the lane I could play with using the Redline.

Summary:
The Forza Redline brought me back to when I first started throwing MOTIV. The original Thrash was the first MOTIV ball I owned and that went with me everywhere. There isn’t anything not to like about the Redline. The cover is great both shiny and sanded. You can play multiple parts of the lane with it. I still haven’t found anything that this ball can’t do.

Review:
I tested my Forza SS along with one of my Venom Shocks, mainly for both having solid coverstocks. Not having thrown any of the previous MOTIV balls with the Sigma Core before, I was quite excited to get this ball in my hands and on the lanes. I immediately noticed how much heavier the Sigma SS rolled in the middle part of the lane. Not only did it start make the turn a little earlier than expected, the signature continuous motion was more than I anticipated. Granted the layout I opted for my Sigma SS is quite stronger, this ball definitely gives me an option if I need to get a little further left. The Sigma SS for me gives me the roll I need like most solids up front, but shapes like a pearl on the backend.

Likes:
Great shiny or dull
Strong but predictable motion
Versatile Cover

Dislikes:

Summary:
The Sigma Core is back with some mean intentions. This core and cover combination is unbelievable, especially for those medium and heavy volume patterns, also for medium to long distance patterns as well. I instantly fell in love with mine. Shined up or with surface, the Sigma SS performs and doesn’t lose any bit of energy.

The Freestyle is a great ball to have for those days/nights when the lanes are hooking more than usual. I was able to create a controllable shape on a burned house shot without sacrificing carry. Even on drier lanes, the Freestyle manages to get through the pins well. With a little added surface, the Freestyle is able to create a little more shape if it is needed.

Likes:
Smooth backend reaction
Controlled motion entire lane
Versatile Coverstock

Dislikes:

Summary:
The Freestyle will especially be appreciated by those that battle drier lane conditions and tournament bowlers that do battle on short patterns. When the backends are really fast, the Freestyle is what you will want to pull out of the bag. With the Freestyle being on the lower end of the ball chart, it does not sacrifice any hitting power.

The Freestyle Rush is an incredible compliment to the original Freestyle for when lanes are drier or in scenarios where lighter volumes of oil are used. I noticed the cleanliness through the front part of lane. However, the backend shape is more angular than original Freestyle. Pending on the pattern being played on, the Rush is a great go-to as the pattern begins to blend. Not only is it good-looking going down the lane, it has the hitting power and continuation through the pins like any other ball in the MOTIV line.
The Freestyle Rush is an unbelievable compliment to quite a few pieces in the current lineup. For the lighter conditions, the Rush can easily be the ball to use for longer blocks of bowling. While more responsive than the original Freestyle, the backend shape is very controllable although mildly angular. The Freestyle Rush overall reaction and cover combination definitely keeps moves simple and smaller as lanes transition.

The Jackal Flash features the Infusion Cover has turned into my most favorite Pearl Cover. I compared my Jackal Flash alongside the Alpha Jackal. While having similar layouts on both, I knew my angles would have to be more opened when throwing my Jackal Flash. I was mentally prepped knowing how fast the Infusion Cover likes to cover as seen with the Forge Fire and Supra just to name a couple. My immediate reaction was a big WOW after seeing I was approx. 7-8 boards left with my feet from the Alpha Jackal. While there was a defined friction spot on the lane, I was able to go a few more boards further with ease and the Jackal Flash did not want to quit on the backend.

Likes:

Dislikes:

Summary:
The Jackal Flash is something everybody can use. What I love the most about it is when there is a defined hook spot downlane, I can stay ahead of the field getting left and project the Jackal Flash to that spot while having the confidence in it to hook back to the pocket. For a piece that is this strong overall, both cover and core, the Jackal Flash still has plenty of power getting through the pins. For the tournament players especially, this is a huge piece to have in the arsenal and pairs well with many styles. The Jackal Flash has that WOW factor both on and off the lanes.

The Ghost Jackal has unbelievable continuation for a ball of its strength. The backend motion is very predictable. I noticed how much quicker I had to be in making adjustments due to how quickly the Ghost Jackal’s cover transitioned the middle of the lane. With the moves I had to make, the Ghost Jackal does not lose energy hitting the pins.

Likes:

Summary:
The Ghost Jackal is an amazing piece. The cover plays a big role with this. For when lanes get tighter downlane, on flatter conditions, and when the fronts are flooded, the Ghost Jackal’s versatility will help combat any and all of those conditions. The backend shape is impressively predictable and controlled. This is one that always has a spot in my bag.

The Jackal Rising is a beast. I compared my Jackal Rising to my Jackal Ghost which had a similar layout. I immediately noticed how much earlier the Rising was versus the Ghost. Review:
I initially threw the ball on a fresh THS a few times to ensure grip/tape was comfortable, and immediate reaction was THIS BALL HOOKS. Lining up off the left gutter on fresh was insane but have to admit it rolled great. Once on the longer and tougher, Chameleon pattern, the Jackal made the pattern look a little too easy, almost made it look like a THS. The Jackal reads really well through the oil and is controllable on the backend. After blending out the pattern some, I was able to play from a few different angles and did not sacrifice carry. I compared it to the Revolt and Primal Rage. I was able to play an average 4-6 more boards left (with my feet) using the Jackal.

Likes:

Dislikes:

Summary:
This ball hooks. Just because the Jackal hooks a lot doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be in any everyone’s arsenal. The Jackal will easily the strong suit in every bowler’s arsenal. A variety of bowlers would enjoy this piece on plenty of occasions, i.e. on long patterns, when backends get tighter, and when the fronts and middle are flooded. The continuous down-lane motion makes the Jackal that much easier to control. Adding a coat or two of polish, without sacrificing carry, would not hurt if the initial reaction is too much.

The Mythic Jackal is a great addition to the Jackal line. What impressed me immediately was the very quick response downlane. The more I threw it, I noticed how easily I could see the lanes as they transitioned. With the pearl covers on the previous Jackal Flash, I felt I could get into the Mythic sooner with the Hybrid cover. This will allow me to see the midlane transition as well and giving me a bit more range of changing the coverstock if I need to. The downlane shape that this creates is unexpected as it recovers from angles that I generally don’t play as much, but gives me the comfort having something big that doesn’t burn out.

Likes:

Dislikes:

Summary:
If this isn’t a homerun, I don’t know what it is. The Mythic Jackal creates a shape in a bigger piece that I simply don’t usually see – could partially be due to my style and preference of playing the lanes. The way the Mythic Jackal handles the oil on the lanes is simply impressive especially with the overall shape that it creates on the lanes. This has been a great complement to my Trident Odyssey and Iron Forge.

I compared the Octane Burn to my Forza Redline since I have similar layouts on it. The Octane Burn is really clean through the front part of the lane, similar as the Tag. However, it was a stronger motion downlane. It is slightly more controllable on the backend than the original Octane which I still enjoy using. The Octane Burn worked pretty good for me when I started to chase a little further in to where my Redline wouldn’t quite make the turn on the backend.

Likes:

Summary:
The Octane Burn is much cleaner and slighter more controllable than the original Octane. Those that love the Octane, will have as much appreciation for the Burn. The Octane Carbon is a new type of fuel for the avid bowler. I instantly fell in love with my Carbon as soon as I unboxed it. I compared mine with the United Revolt which I put a similar layout. What I immediately noticed about the Carbon, is the cleanliness through the front part of the lane and its response to the friction. Once reading the friction, it slightly reminded of the original Octane with a slightly more controlled backend but with even more continuation. The 1-2 combination with the Carbon and United is unreal. Starting with the United Revolt, it is a simple ball change to the Carbon if the United isn’t quite making that turn around the corner. As lanes transition, the Octane Carbon is a great ball to go to.

Likes:

Versatile coverstock

Dislikes:

Summary:
The Octane Carbon is love at first sight. Not only does it look good, it performs as well as it looks. Fans of the Octane line will have great appreciation for the Carbon. The players with higher ball speeds should not shy away from adding a little additional surface to the Octane Carbon. My personal preference would be to touch it with a 3000 grit pad just for it to pick up a little sooner. Even though it is a new combination of core and cover, the name fits perfectly when compared to the previous Octanes – with Carbon being highly indestructible, the Octane Carbon is a demolition going through the pins.

This may be the easiest review I have done. I compared the Paranoia to my Primal Rage. A lot of bowlers are familiar with my love for the Primal Rage. MOTIV has created the love-child for it. The Paranoia is clean through the front part of the lanes with a controllable, predictable, continuing motion downlane. After a couple small surface changes by hand, the motion is identical on the backend and does not sacrifice hitting power.

Likes:
Heavy roll in front part of lanes
Controlled and angular motion downlane

Dislikes:
None

Summary:
The Paranoia will turn heads easily. This is more than a home run for MOTIV, it’s a series sweep and shutout each game. Create more Paranoia by drilling more than one. This ball will not disappoint.

Review:
The Impulse V2 Core has to be one of, if not, my favorite core in any line of bowling balls I have ever thrown. With the Primal Fear being the replacement to the Primal Rage, I thought it would be fitting to test the two together. My anticipation of the Primal Fear was for it to be just as aggressive, but still highly controllable, off of the breakpoint. The Primal Fear does not disappoint. I found my Primal Fear to be slightly earlier and a little more rounded off the breakpoint, but with even more continuation. Adding a little bit more surface to the Primal Fear, I was able to open up the lanes more.

Likes:
Controlled angular aggression
Versatile Cover
Improved performance in heavier oil
Overall Reaction Shape

Dislikes:
None

Summary:
Fans, including myself, of the Primal Rage and Primal Rage Remix will not be disappointed with the Primal Fear. It seems like the perfect fit/combination of the two. A little earlier than the Primal Rage but cleaner through front part of the lane than the Primal Rage Remix, and also slightly more controllable than the Primal Rage and faster on the backend than the Primal Rage Remix. As much as I love the Impulse V2 Core for my style, this in a way is a benchmark piece within itself. Not only does it look great going down the lane, but it gets the job done too.

Review:
The Primal Rage Remix is unreal. I actually drilled two of these. However, I used this specific one to test against the original Primal Rage and the Jackal. Immediately, I saw the difference when comparing to the original Primal Rage. The hybrid shell gives the Remix a quicker response to the drier parts of the lane, but continuous on the backend. I found myself anywhere 3-5 boards further left with the Remix than original Primal Rage. I was able to play pretty to the same spot with the Remix and the Jackal. Biggest difference between the two is the backend shape is a quite different. The Jackal is a little more smoother but doesn’t quite have the recovery if missed outside unlike the Remix. I was able to see the transition through the midlane faster with the Remix.

Likes:
Versatile coverstock
Continuous backend motion
Great for medium and heavy oil, and longer patterns

Dislikes:
None

Summary:
How many homeruns is this now for MOTIV? Trust me when I say “You will want more than one” of this ball. The hitting power is unreal for a ball this strong. I’ve fallen in love with hybrid covers because of the number of shapes that can be created. Not only is this ball great for league especially when you are forced inside, but it is great for multiple patterns 40 feet and longer, and when there is a large amount of volume.

Review:
The Purple Tank. Having been a fan of the entire Microcell Polymer line, especially the Tank Blitz, I knew this would be a great addition to the lineup. From the looks of the 1000 Grit finish, my prediction was fairly simple in knowing how early the Purple Tank would read into the oil pattern. What I was more curious about was what kind of downlane shape will it create, and how far will it let me migrate my feet to the left. I was fairly surprised at how continuous it was once it came off of the end of the pattern. While the Tank Blitz is the overall stronger of the two, this combination is an absolute force that is hard to stop.

Likes:
Great compliment to Tank Blitz
Early read of the lane

Dislikes:
None

Summary:
Common in reactive equipment, and with how early the urethane reads up front, the signature continuation showed itself as it does not go more “forward” as most would anticipate. Understanding the use of how and when to use urethane in today’s game is highly important. For my style and preference of laneplay on the fresh patterns, the Tank Blitz was been my benchmark for quite a while. Although the Purple Tank doesn’t create a bigger motion downlane, its ability to read the front part of the lane similarly has become a great option for when the Tank Blitz is just a bit too much. This combination has become a staple in my arsenal and travels with me everywhere.

I compared this to the original Revolt which has a fairly similar layout. I quickly found this to be much sooner than the original because of the stronger coverstock. For my type of roll, which is more up-the-back with tilt, I found the Havoc to be better on the fresh because it helps me read the pattern a lot faster, and to see where and how the lanes are transitioning.

Likes:
Smooth
Great for heavy oiled fronts

Dislikes:

Summary:
For a ball that rolls this early, it does not lose any hitting power when it gets to the pins. Being aggressive with the Revolt Havoc is something you do not want to shy away from. The Havoc makes any heavy oiled shot look easy. The Havoc completes an arsenal for one that wants to build one with all of the Revolts.

The Tag Cannon will be the necessity piece for the medium to high rev player, for when lanes tend to burn up. For the lower rev players, the Tag Cannon may be more in play especially on fresher patterns and for longer blocks. I drilled my Tag Cannon to create a slightly earlier motion, but did not want to sacrifice the angular shape it can create. The more the lanes transitioned, I felt more comfortable with the Tag Cannon. Granted the cover is slightly weaker than most the arsenal, I know playing medium to bigger angles, this ball definitely helps create the shape I need when playing further in.

Likes:
Long and Strong motion
Clean through front part of lane

Dislikes:

Summary:
While some may think the Graffiti Tag was too angular, the Tag Cannon creates an unbelievable 1-2 punch. The Tag Cannon will fit any arsenal whether you are a high rev, high speed, low rev, low speed. During any lane transition, the Tag Cannon now is one of the first balls out of my bag to help combat that.

The Tank Rampage is unlike any urethane I have thrown. I compared mine to my original Tank. The overall reaction with the Rampage is much stronger. I initially thought the Rampage was going to stop as soon as it got to the dry, but it kept hooking and I was quite shocked. The hitting power through the pins is like any reactive ball.
Known to the masses as Ron, the Tank Rampage has a well deserved spot in the bag for majority of patterns in the world. The combination overall is an incredible beast especially for those that prefer to play smaller angles on a lot of patterns. This is an absolute must have in any bowlers arsenal. Matching the right surface on the Rampage with the lanes will make for a blast for the one throwing it.

The New Motiv Tribal Fire is a great choice for league play and lighter-medium conditions. The layout and shape is unlike anything I have ever thrown. I tested mine against the Octane and original Tribal, both layed out 50 x 4 ½ x 40 (pin up). I generally use pin up layouts on house conditions due to the heavier concentrations of oil in the middle and dry outsides. Pin down layouts for me on house conditions doesn’t quite make the turn at the breakpoint and tends to hit flatter. This combination on my Tribal Fire makes me forget what the layout is. The ball is very clean through the heads, and is slightly angular, but continuous on the backends. I do find this ball great to be used when the Octane is too much and when the original Tribal is not enough on the backends.

Likes:
Clean through front part of lane, hard hitting at the pins
Versatile coverstock and drill layouts
Retains lot of energy

Dislikes:

Summary:
This ball is worth every penny. Granted the combination of drilling layout is stronger than usual compared to my other layouts, the hybrid cover is versatile enough to compensate for that. For league play, there is no difficulty getting through three games. For some, an extra coat of polish would not hurt. This will be one of the bowling balls you will want another and another of.

Review:
The Trident will be your ultimate weapon for heavy and/or long oil conditions. I compared mine to my Primal Rage Remix which also has a Hybrid Coverstock and a drilling layout. The Trident obliterates the oil that it comes across, as this may be the strongest coverstock I’ve had my hands on. The number of boards I had to move further in with my feet and target, was jaw-dropping considering these two are atop the ball guide. For as strong as the cover is, the Trident still makes an aggressive motion on the backend. With how much energy the Trident retains, it still gets through the pins just fine. With the slightly lower ball speed and higher revs that I have, I’m sure a little polish will fine-tune this ultimate weapon to get the pins to fall on its knees.

Summary:
The Trident HOOKS! The Trident does retain energy well especially to get a quicker glimpse of how the lanes and oil is playing. With the 3000 LSS finish, some may find a touch of polish will help get the pins to fly around a little bit more. For the longer/heavier oil patterns, the Trident is still very controllable both on the fresh and transition.

The Trident Abyss has unbelievable capabilities compared to those earlier in the line. The Coercion HV3 Coverstock is so strong, but with an unreal amount of control, there is no doubt that the ball will absolutely hook. By far, this is the strongest I have ever thrown. I compared mine to my Jackal Rising and Trident Quest. While I typically like playjng smaller angles with the Jackal Rising, I naturaly played further left with the Abyss. The Abyss was able to create a shape that was able to play with the over/under as it was able to read early enough in the oil and not react as fast as the Quest when get the ball gets out earlier to the dry.

The Abyss is an unstoppable force. For as big overall as it is, the signature continuation is still there even when getting deep and way inside. If you need something that hooks, there is no doubt where to look.

Review:
The shelf and on-lane appeal of the Trident Horizon is amazing. On the lanes, I compared mine along with the original Forge and the Forge Fire due to its location on the ball chart. My first impression was everything I imagined it to be – a slightly cleaner piece than the Forge upfront, but with a more continuous motion downlane similar to the Forge Fire. As the lanes began to transition, I can see how the asymmetric core works its magic. When the Forge Fire became a little too quick or was a little too clean, the Trident Horizon provided enough traction soon enough while still creating that controllable motion downlane. As a fan of every ball that has been on a similar spot on the ball chart, I can guarantee I will be drilling multiples of this in the future.

Likes:

Summary:
While some may not be fans of asymmetric pieces or not have as much knowledge for its use, the Trident Horizon will make you a believer. With the amount of success I’ve had with the original Forge, I absolutely was excited for what was to follow. The Trident Horizon is definitely a piece that I can utilize on various patterns from start to finish – on the fresh and as the lanes continue to transition. There is something special about this Hybrid coverstock, the various surface changes that can be done with this while still being able to perform well is amazing.

I compared the new Venom Cobra to one of my Venom Shocks that has a similar layout. I easily noticed the difference in how many cleaner the Cobra is through the front part of the lane and also how much more backend motion it has as well. The Venom Cobra compliments the Venom Shock so well, if the Venom Shock does not have motion that you are looking for, the Venom Cobra will be able to create more shape without having to move your feet as much. I compared my Venom Shock Pearl to none another than the original Venom Shock. The Venom Shock Pearl immediately displayed how much cleaner through the front part it is. On the fresh house shot, it is unbelievable how well it performs for me. With the low RG core inside wrapped with the Hexion cover, the ability it has to read into the friction early AND have a very controlled, angular reaction is unreal. The 1-2 combination with the original Venom Shock can go either way – if the VSP needs a little earlier motion, the Venom Shock can help blend it out. If the Venom Shock can’t quite make the corner at the breakpoint, the VSP will.

I compared the new Villain to my Trident Quest and Forza SS. My idea behind the drilling was to hopefully replicate a similar reaction with my Forza SS but to have a little more maneuverability with it, i.e. a slightly earlier roll, or alter the surface and polish it to create a little quicker response downlane with the asymmetric core. What caught my attention was how well the Villain was able to store energy with its box surface. The backend shape was so clean that it works very well early and can be a set-up to my Trident Quest for when the Villain is losing energy in the midlane.

Likes:
Very smooth reaction
Versatile Coverstock

Dislikes:

Summary:
The new Villain is going to hurt some people’s feelings, as in the person not throwing it. The potential is already there for what this ball can do. It was a little reminiscent for me of the original Covert Revolt, but a little bit more. The Villain’s coverstock screams versatility – after playing around with it (polished, sanded, box surface), the performance it packs is highly impressive. Dollar-for-dollar, this is definitely the best value any bowler can get on any bowling ball.

The new Villain Scorn is a great addition to the original Villain. What I immediately saw with its reaction is the amount of recovery it has compared to the original. Not only can I open up my angles with it, the motion downlane is unlike any others in the current line. By far the Villain Scorn, is the most angular Assymetric ball I have had my hands on. When comparing to the other symmetric pearls, i.e. Primal Rage LE or the Lethal Paranoia, I am able to jump further left and project it further into the dry to create an angular shape that the others were not able to.
After adding a touch of surface, the amount of area it can create improves drastically. Although it slows the response just a little, the carry percentage does not decrease with a possibility of getting even better. What I love about the Villain Scorn is that you do not have to backdown at all with it. For me, the more aggressive I attack the lanes with it, the better results will show itself.

The Limited Edition ExJ VIP brings me back to the first couple of MOTIV bowling balls I ever owned, the Thrash and QZ1 Purple, which both contained the Quadfire Core. While expecting a benchmark type reaction with the VIP, I compared it with the Ripcord Flight which has been one of the first pieces out of my bag at a lot of tournaments recently. Generally using the Ripcord Flight on the fresher patterns, I was sure that the VIP would be a bit faster responsive downlane than the Ripcord Flight. It didn’t take me long to realize how well these two pair together. The VIP also has the amount of control that it can be used on fresh patterns and throughout the night or block of games.
The ExJ VIP brings me back to the first MOTIV pieces that I ever had, but with a huge upgrade with the Infusion Cover. Although a Limited Edition, this is going to be huge for anyone that gets there hands on one (or two+). I can’t express in words how well the ExJ VIP performs and matches well especially with my game.
