Description: This is the best benchmark ball in my arsenal right now. A solid cover, matched with a strong symmetric core, with a 4000 finish is a good match up for basically any fresh shot. You should be able to get to the pocket with this ball on any typical house pattern, and will be able to determine the move to make from this ball with ease. With my layout, I am able to play in the track area on a THS and defintely do not have to worry about overreaction. It is like this ball just hugs the lane all the way down. Keeps the pins low, and just sucks them back. Light hits carry out corners and pocket shots just suck the pins back. The first time I threw this practicing I had an avid bowler tell me "That ball rolls (explitive) amazing!". Coming from a bowler with ingrained ideas of what company they want to throw, it was quite the statement to me. 900 Global is definitely on to something with the All Day/All Night series.

All In 70x5.5x35
The All In is the newest addition to the Preferred Series line for 900 Global. This midlevel ball provides you a strong pearl cover with the S73 Pearl matched with the even rolling Clockwork core that has been in the All Day and All Night from last year's lineup. Overall, compared to those two respective balls, the All In is a stronger overall shape. With a 4000 finish, the All In will give you some good traction in the fresh oil, and the pearl cover will allow you to have that good backend motion that everyone wants to see. This is an ideal benchmark ball for me. It gives me a little surface to even out the fresh shot and get a good idea of what the pattern is doing, as well as a medium RG core that rolls in the midlane well. Overall, just not a lot of overreaction for this ball, and will be great to start out your league session with.

Description: This ball is one of the smoothest balls I have seen in some time. When the lanes start to burn up, and the back ends start to get a little jumpy, this is the ball to go to. The polished surface lets you get the ball down the lane and clear the heads no problem. I threw this ball to test it after a tournament had been bowled all day, and I still was able to stay fairly far outside and play up the boards without it checking too early. This ball would be best suited for medium to dry conditions. It doesn't fair as well in oil, but when there is some friction to throw it to, watch out...this ball can go all night!

Black Ops 50x5x35
The Black Ops reminds me a lot of the original Dream. It has a lot of length through the heads and a strong flip on the backend. By the numbers, the Black Ops is one of the strongest balls in the 900 Global lineup, but I would say it is a board or two less downlane than the original Dream. This will probably be the first ball out of my bag on most nights. I can always ball up to the Dream Big and ball down to the Respect Pearl. With its solid S70 cover paired up with the proven Break asymmetric core, this ball will be great for a multitude of lane conditions even when they get dry because you will be able to move inside and still get the ball to feed.

Reads the midlane, but still has that backend pop. The boost series will be a great ball for any up and coming bowler for their first entry level reactive ball, or it is a great addition to a seasoned bowlers arsenal when they need something for the last game of league or deep into a tournament. It hits well, it carries great, and it clears the heads without worry.

Boo-Yah! 70x5.5x35
When the lanes get dry or you are on an extreme over/under oil pattern condition this may be the ball of choice for you! A urethane ball should be in everyone's bag because it is something that can be very useful when the lanes get rough. The Boo-Yah! provides that even ball motion that is ever so useful when the lanes are unpredictable. It won't give away the pocket, and still has great hitting power to mix up the pins. This ball does have a bit of hook to it, so it may be more useful on more conditions than the average urethane ball. If you constantly deal with a house that doesn't put out oil, you have really low ball speed/higher rev rate, or you are bowling on a shorter sport condition, this ball is a must have in your arsenal.

Break Down
Drilling:   Pin under middle finger CG in palm
Surface:   OOB
Lane condition:   41ft THS
Description:   The Break Down brings back the historic technology of the Break series from several years ago, but it has a tweak to the ball dynamics to make the ball very suitable for tougher/flatter/broken down lane conditions. This will be THE tournament ball of choice for me. I haven't seen a ball with the mix of an asymmetric core and so call "weak" RG and diff numbers before, but it provides a very unique roll and very controllable motion. This ball does the one thing that I look for when picking out a ball for tougher lane conditions; it seems to "hug" the lane as it goes toward the pins. Nothing every too dramatic, very predictable, strong motion through the pins, keeps pins low. Hard to argue with the success of this ball line in the past, and if you want to find a ball that will be great on tougher lanes and broken down shots, this is definitely one to consider.

Chemical-X 40x4.5x35
The Chemical-X is a very interesting ball for me. This is one of the smoother overall balls in the new lineup from 900 Global. It comes at 4000 OOB and that allows the ball to read a bit in the oil, but it still has a tame downlane ball reaction while retaining good hitting power. I think this ball will be great on tougher lane conditions. When your angles have to be smaller, and you need to keep the ball in front of you, the Chemical-X will allow you to have a predictable ball reaction. Overall, just a really solid benchmark ball when the lanes do not give you a lot of miss room.

Dark Matter 70x5.5x30
The Dark Matter does one thing really well - Big Backend Motion! This ball has to be the largest backend ball in the current lineup, and it could rival any symmetric ball on the market, currently. The Dark Matter is the new addition to the Tour Preferred Series lineup for 900 Global. With this variation of the S43 coverstock that is currently in the Boost series, the Dark Matter ends up with a beefed up cover that formulates to the S60 cover. This solid cover matched with the medium RG core gives you amazing length through the front part of the lane with a strong backend motion into the pocket. This is ideal for medium to dry lane conditions, and it could potentially take on a little more oil with some surface adjustments. I am not exaggerating when I say this may be the biggest backend ball on the market, and for a symmetric core, its even more impressive to have that much pop on the backend.

The Desert Ops is the newest addition to the Preferred Series. This ball is the best suited in the "Ops" line for when the lanes become dryer. The Break LD core in this ball has been used in quite a few balls in the history of 900 Global and has been proven to be a winner. The pearlized cover put on this ball will allow you to clear the heads of the lane with ease and have the strong backend reaction that everyone likes to see. This ball will be best suited for those who want to play up the boards on fresh without having to worry about it reading the lane too early, or when the lanes do dry out, you will be able to move in deep and feed it to the dry and watch it come back hard.

Description: Holy backend, Batman! This ball comes off the spot like nothing I have seen before. The asymmetric core matched with the pearl cover allows this ball to get down the lane with ease and then take a 90 degree turn off the end of the pattern. Leaving this at the OOB finish, it allowed me to play a little further outside on the lane, but it can easily be taken down to 2000 or 4000 and make the middle of the lane more playable. When you are having trouble getting the ball to tip the corner, or get out a flat 10, take no second thought to switch to the dream. This is the go to ball if you are looking for a big back end move.

Dream Big 30x4.5x30
This is definitely the strongest ball now in the 900 Global lineup. The Dream On used to be the biggest hooking ball in my bag, but the Dream Big is even bigger! If you have a heavy oil condition to deal with, the Dream Big will read the lane with ease. The most impressive trait about this ball for me is the fact that it doesn't overreact off the spot down lane or pick up too early. For such a strong ball reaction, this ball is extremely controllable down lane which is something that I don't see very often. As compared to the Dream On, the Dream Big is a couple boards stronger overall, but the down lane motion is a bit more subtle due to the solid Alert Coverstock. The OOB finish at 4000 has plenty of teeth to read through the oil, but it can be lowered quite easily to pick up even more for those with lower rev rates or higher ball speeds.

Dream Big Pearl 50x5.5x35
The 900 Global Dream Big Pearl clears the heads and flips hard. Overall, this ball is a few boards less than the original Dream Big, and with the pearl cover added it gives a few extra feet of length with a much stronger backend reaction. When the original Dream Big is starting to read a bit too early, the Dream Big Pearl will be a good ball to transition into. This ball is quite similar in shape to the Dream from last year's lineup, but with a stronger coverstock, the Dream Big Pearl will allow you to start a little deeper in the oil and allow a bit more traction in the middle of the lane than the regular Dream.

Description: THIS BALL HOOKS. The Dream was one of my favorite balls in the new 900 Global line, and this ball just gives you that extra 2 boards or so of room when the lanes are really slick or you are bowling on the fresh. As compared to the Dream, the Dream On still has a clean motion through the heads because of the hybrid coverstock, but it picks up a bit earlier than the Dream and has a smoother transition on the backend. Being an asymmetric ball, the Dream On still has a hard move off the friction, but it is a bit more controllable than the Dream when you have less margin of error down lane. This ball should be the go to ball when bowling on long oil patterns.

"Drift 50x5x60
The new Drift from 900 Global is the newest addition to the Tour Preferred line. This ball is a bit of a step up from the last release in the line, The X with more length and backend reaction. When the lanes are drying up, or you are bowling on a lighter oil condition, the Drift will be the idea ball to move in deep and open up the lane while still being able to clear the heads. This ball is designed with tournament shots in mind, so when the lanes are flat and tricky this ball will allow you to play steeper angles with a little more room for error. This ball will also be one that I use a lot on the medium house condition shot. It will allow you to play multiple angles and will be forgiving for getting a little too grabby at the bottom of the swing.

"Inception 50x5.75x30
The new Inception from 900 Global is the newest high end addition to the Tour Engineered line and proves a very aggressive piece of equipment. When testing the 4 new balls in the line for 2016/2017, the Inception was a good 5 boards more overall hook for me than the next in line (Truth). The Inception utilizes a new core technology (Adaptor) by changing densities in the interlocking design; in this instance to create an asymmetric core. This core technology is shared with the Truth, but with the Truth having a symmetric core shape. The Inception reads the oil very well even with just the 4000 finish out of box. Bringing the surface down even more will allow for more traction in basically any amount of heavy oil you may encounter.

Review: This is the newest high end addition to the 900 Global lineup. The Inception Pearl is a pearlized version of the Inception Solid released earlier this year. Compared to the Inception Solid, this ball has more length and angularity. The Inception Pearl is also the biggest backend motion in the current lineup for me. This will be a good ball to start on the fresher shots when you want to see that defined backend motion and need some push through the front part of the lane.

Review: The Infrared is the newest addition to the Tour Preferred Line for 900 Global. This line gives bowlers a reaction that they need for the tougher conditions that we see more and more. The Infrared is a very strong, smooth, solid/symmetric ball. When the lanes are tough and play flat, this will be the benchmark ball that you need to carry with you. This is one of the better mid lane reading balls that I have thrown recently. When the back-ends are flying, or there is extreme over/under reaction, the Infrared will be a good choice to battle these annoying issues we always encounter on higher volumes of oil.

Respect
Drilling:   Pin between fingers stacked
Surface:   OOB 1500 Polish
Lane condition:   41 ft THS
Description:   This ball deserves all the respect. One of the strongest shiny balls I've thrown recently. The coverstock is extremely aggressive, and it matches well with the tetra symmetric core that was showcased earlier this year in the Moxie. This ball will get more length than the Moxie with an extremely aggressive backend motion. One aspect about this ball that I've seen so far is the fact that it allows me to play many different angles due to the forgiving core dynamics. If I want to play up the boards, it allows me to do that on the fresh because of the clean length through the covers, but if I want to move into the lane and fight some of the oil it still will roll strong. If you are looking for the go to ball on a med-heavy shot this will be a great choice.

Respect Pearl 55x5x65
The Respect Pearl is an addition that I have been waiting for in the 900 Global line. That upper-mid level pearl ball with a strong backend reaction. As compared to the original Respect, I would say that the Pearl is a bit less overall hook, but it save more of it for downlane motion. This ball is cleaner through the heads than the original Respect with a harder response to friction downlane. This would be a great ball for medium oil conditions and when you need to get in a wheel the lane a bit after they are broken down. The Respect Pearl with the original Respect would be a great 1-2 punch for your benchmark and ball down reaction.

Respect Solid 65x5x55
The Respect Solid brings back the Dig 78 coverstock that was on the Moxie. Overall, this ball is very similar to the Moxie, which was my favorite ball in recent memory, so when I saw that 900 Global was coming out with an upgraded version of the Moxie I was excited. The same tetra symmetric core that has been used in this line is still in the Respect Solid, but the cover has been changed to the 78 Dig Solid. This solid version of the 78 Dig will give you plenty of traction in the oil and a very smooth reaction off the backend. When the lanes are flooded and the angles are not wide open, the Respect Solid will be the first ball out of the bag to test the waters. One other aspect of this cover that I loved with the Moxie was that it was very welcoming to surface changes, so this ball could ultimately be your benchmark ball for just about any condition.

Quick comparison of the newest Urethane addition to the 900 Global Lineup. The difference between this ball and traditional urethane is that the Shadow Ops has an 80/20 urethane/resin cover coupled with the Break Asymmetric core. This combination is something that we have never seen before and gives that in between reaction from tradition urethane and low end reactive. The Shadow Ops is a good 3-4 boards left with my feet than the BooYah!, and the Covert Ops is a good 10 boards with my feet inside the Shadow Ops. The Shadow Ops is much cleaner through the first part of the lane compared to regular urethane and has more back end continuation. This will be a great ball to use when the heads become a bit burned up since regular urethane tends to read the front of the lane so early already. I’m very excited to get to use this ball more on wet/dry house patterns and shorter sport patterns. Go get one at your pro shop today. GO GLOBAL!

"Special Ops 50x5x30
The new Special Ops from 900 Global is the newest addition to the Preferred line. This ball compliments the Black Ops very well. Using one of the best cores ever produced from 900 Global, the Break Core, this ball is a great value with asymmetric performance in a mid-level price point. As compared to the Black Ops, the Special Ops is a bit less overall hook and smoother off the break point. This ball still clears the heads very well, while creating a strong back end motion that bowlers love to see. This should be one of the first balls out of your bag to judge lane conditions for a benchmark reaction.

"Truth 45x5.5x35
The new Truth from 900 Global is the newest addition to the Prime line and utilizes the Adaptor Core technology shared with the Inception, but for the Truth, it uses a symmetric shape core due to density changes. The Truth rolls very similarly to the Respect Solid, but a few more boards overall from my testing so far. This is an ideal choice to ball down from the Inception when the lanes become a little dryer or the backend reaction is a bit too sharp with an asymmetric piece of equipment.

The Truth Pearl is the newest addition to the Prime Series to compliment the original Truth. These balls are very similar in specs, but the Truth Pearl utilizes a pearlized S74R coverstock to allow for a little more length and a stronger backend reaction than the original Truth. With the layout that i put on this ball, I will be able to use it as a good benchmark reaction on a variety of different lane conditions. If this ball does not quite turn the corner in time, then I know to ball up to the original Truth to get out the corners and have better continuation through the pocket.

The newest addition to the Tour Preferred line for 900 Global - the X! This ball is the new benchmark ball in the lineup for me. With its S57 solid coverstock matched up with the Pod Symmetric core, this ball will read the midlane extremely well and have good continuation through the pins. Nothing too fancy or super aggressive about this ball, and that is something that I will use very often in league and tournament play. Everyone needs a good benchmark ball in their bag, and if you are looking for something to judge the rest of your arsenal off of, then the 900 Global X may be the ball for you!

Description: This ball was one of the favorites back in the day, and I'm super excited AMF 300 brought this ball back. This ball does not disappoint at all. The Nighthawk SE picks up nice and early and has a very controllable backend motion. It is best used on fresh medium oil conditions. It allows you to play further right, but still picks up early enough that you don't have to worry about leaving flat corners, which is a problem that I have with a lot of the "dry lane" balls. Controllable is the best word for this ball. It doesn't' t make a huge move off the spot, but it hits the pins hard, and keeps them low which is a big deal to me. This can also be used as a great benchmark ball.

Description: This ball is the one to go to when the lanes begin to get fried. As an entry level reactive ball, this does not fair well in oil, unless you want to play extreme direct angles. One thing I can say about this ball is that it definitely does not hit like an entry level reactive. The color scheme on this series is amazingly bright and will have great shelf appeal. The brighter the colors, the more popular the ball it seems to be lately, so AMF 300 hit the nail on the head with the Xcite series.
