The Absolute Nirvana is clearly the strongest ball in the Brunswick line. It appears to somehow retain more energy while hooking just as soon as the original. The Absolute is about 2 and 1 stronger than the original Nirvana and 4 and 2 stronger than the Ultimate Nirvana.. The ECS Hook coverstock grips the lane early and often. This ball recovers well from out of bounds areas and finishes well at the pins. If you are looking for help getting the ball to hook soon enough or are encountering heavier volumes of oil, this ball is the answer!

The Anaconda is the ball that I have been waiting for for quite sometime. The balls I have had the most success with have been the Ratter, the Inferno, and the Absolute Inferno. This Brunswick release takes some of the best aspects of all three and improves upon them. The Anaconda has length, controllability, monster strength at the breakpoint, combined with more continuation at the breakpoint. As the lane pattern breaks down, many brunswick balls in the past have begun to hook early and stop, not this ball. The Anaconda will square up and carry at the pins, but as the pattern breaks down the ball continues to gets stronger and stronger. As long as you move left it will continue to strike, no ten pins from this one. I copied the layout off of my favorite Rattler when I drilled the Anaconda looking for a slightly stronger but similar reaction and that is exactly what I saw on the lanes. This ball is 4 and 2 stronger than my Rattler, which has more surface on it, and has more continuation at the breakpoint. The further left I moved, the more the Anaconda came back and the harder the messenger came off the wall to get the 9 pin! This ball is usable for most bowlers on most lane conditions and is a must have. Stand left, throw right, and destroy the rack with the Anaconda!

The Attitude has a very similar core and cover combination to the very successful Hero. I find this ball to be a little longer and a bit more angular when comparing the two balls. The Attitude is one of the best pearl benchmark balls on the market. This one is frequently one of the first balls out of my bag currently in league. I have it right between my 3D Offset and Melee Jab Carbon. If it is not enough ball I switch to the Offset, if it is too much ball and I need more length I throw the Carbon. This is ball is a fantastic value and is playable from all parts of the lane. I also see this one working for most bowler styles. This is truly one of the can't miss balls on the shelf for both its color combo and its reaction.

The Attitude Control is the step up from the Purple Hammer that lower rev bowlers have been waiting for. This ball is a little earlier and about 5 more boards of hook overall. It possesses the same ability to go around the lane a bit while maintaining control on patterns with stronger backends. I can throw it away from me from 3rd arrow and I can play up the lane around 1st arrow. I have been able to use this one on both house and sport patterns with success thus far. The Attitude Control is a great choice for a strong urethane ball.

The Brunswick line of balls has been going through a change over recent times. Each ball seems to bring a reaction to the table to fill a void in the line. This ball continues that trend in taking Brunswick ball motion to a new place. When I first heard of the Aura I was wondering how a ball that seemed so similar to the Nexxxus was being released a few months later. I was eager to test the Aura to see how it matched up. The Aura is a different shape from the Nexxxus for me all together and simply will provide options the Nexxxus will not. It is cleaner through the front than the Nexxxus by 2 or 3 boards but what really distinguishes the two is the breakpoint and versatility the Aura brings to the table. The Aura doesn't use its energy until late in the midlane and then as the Nexxxus is taking off with that skid/snap motion The Aura just keeps hooking. I find it to be less skid snappy than the Nexxxus but have more hook and angularity some how. The ball seems to defy the laws of physics with the motion you see. The Aura compared to a similarly drilled Nexxxus hooks 2 or 3 boards more. The ball simply comes back from almost everywhere on the two patterns I tested it on. If it finds some dry it will turn the corner period. There is no doubt about whether the ball will find the breakpoint. It does so predictably every time. The Aura has a breakpoint that just doesn't give up. I liked the motion the first pin up ball provided but it was simply too strong downlane for me to use most of the time so I decided to drill a second ball with the pin down to provide a smoother transition. When the first Aura is going sideways the second one provides a smoother arc to the pocket. After applying a coat of polish I can move right with it some and play a little closer to my comfort zone. It takes surface adjustments really well. Between the two Auras there is a wide enough difference in shape to carry both balls in the bag. The ball has Versamax type versatility on moderate to larger volumes of oil. The Aura is the strongest ball Brunswick has ever produced with its strongest down lane motion! If you are looking for lots of hook with plenty of down lane motion on a wide variety of conditions then check out the new Brunswick technology at your local pro shop today!

COMMENTS
Likes: Versatility, quick defined move off of the friction, great carry
Dislikes: none
I wasn't sure what to expect when drilling the new Aura Mystic. A number of times in the past I have been looking for a particular shape to add to my arsenal, but this time I didn't have anything particular in mind. I decided on a layout I have had a lot of success with in the past and went with it. I wound up with a new reaction I haven't had in the bag in the past. The Aura Mystic fits in right between the first two Aura series ball with a whole new shape entirely. It is much stronger off the breakpoint and has that skid flip reaction most bowlers like on medium to heavier lane conditions. It is clean through the front, then it slows down in the midlane in preparation for a very strong quick move at the breakpoint. Once there is a defined breakpoint this ball is almost impossible to throw through it! That is not all that makes it special though. Quite simply, this is the most versatile skid/flip ball I have ever owned. Optimum Versatility, the name of the coverstock, seems to describe this ball best in my case. The Aura Mystic with the necessary adjustments has been playable on everything I have bowled on at some point lately. It has tackled patterns from 40 to 52 feet long. The ball would even tip a little on the back on the 52 foot Badger pattern. If you can change the way you throw the ball to accommodate the angles you are playing this ball is absolute money! Pin carry has also been very good with some messengers in key situations when the ball hit light in the pocket. It is a 3/2 move left off of the Original Aura and a 3/2 move right off of the Paranormal on a 41 foot house shot. The Aura Mystic has surprised me everywhere I go and has become my go to ball when I need something to make a quick move down lane. I have rolled most of my games lately with it and it appears as if it will be my go to ball as long as there is some head oil for a long time. If you are looking for a skid/flip reaction with ability to open up the lanes as they transition, and added versatility with bowler adjustments then the Aura Mystic is a great choice!

Likes: Hook and ability to cover boards without quitting

The Aura Paranormal is the strongest ball I have thrown to date. Not only is it the strongest piece, it continues to redefine ball motion in the Brunswick line. The Aura was previously Brunswick's strongest ball down lane in oilier lane conditions. This release hooks earlier than the Aura while retaining nearly the same move at the end of the pattern. This ball is CONTINUOUS! Once it begins its transitional move it doesn't quit. It is not designed for use on average house conditions. This ball was clean through the heads but still had too much hook for our house shot. I had to put it away after a few frames as I ran out of lane. Fifth arrow is simply too far left on the fresh and the new Meanstreak Brawler and Meanstreak are better options for me. The Paranormal didn't quit but it definitely over hooked. On the fresh Shark pattern the ball was perfect and gave me several more boards of recovery than the Aura. It also allowed me to be firmer and throw the ball with more confidence knowing that the recovery would be there and the ball would carry if it went light mixer. This will be my go to ball when volumes are higher. I look forward to drilling a stronger one to see if I can open them up even more on oilier condition. If you need help hooking the ball on oilier conditions or you are just looking for a board covering machine The Aura Paranormal is the ball for the job.

The Avalanche Urethane is a welcome addition to the Avalanche line of balls. It allows me to play straighter and keep my angles a little tighter on the flatter patters when there is a lower volume of lane oil. It is also a great tool for the average house shot when there have been many games thrown on the lanes or for heavier handed players who want to play more direct to improve carry. Overall, it is a must have for the tournament bowler looking to conquer those drier lanes.

COMMENTS
If your looking for a hook monster that likes carrydown the C-System Alphamax is your ball! This is the strongest oil ball I have ever thrown or watched go down a lane. The Alphamax clears the heads takes a quick read of the midlane and then makes the turn before you could flip the switch for the blinker. Carrydown isn't a problem with the Alphamax, in fact, it hooks in about the same spot regardless of the amount of breakdown on the lane. This is exactly what makes this release special it has the same fast transition time on any lane condition. This ball doesn't stop hooking when the lane breaks down, rather, it hooks more the further I move inside. Its the only ball I have been able to create enough angle to leave a 4-9-10 from past 4th arrow on any condition. I also noticed that I was unable to wash out with it once I dialed it in on any of the conditions I tested it on. My carry suffered when I muscled it through at the bottom, but the ball hit the headpin every time! I was also surprised by the consistant reaction I recieved when I rolled it on a pair of lanes with Scorpion on one lane and Shark on the other. The Alphamax read both patterns almost identically allowing me to play the track about 12 to 8 on both lanes. This consistant reaction allowed me to shoot 295 with a greek church on the fill ball in the tenth. This is hands down the quickest-response best carrying oil ball Brunswick has made to date. If you need a ball that offers unconditional hook and unbelievable carry, its time to max out with the C-System Alphamax!

Dislikes: What's not to like!
The C System Maxxed out arrives as a stronger earlier version of the Versamax. Those that had trouble getting the Versamax to read soon enough on the fresher lane conditions will find that this ball will fill that gap more than capably. The Maxxed out has a sure read of the midlane and then makes a strong move toward the pocked with great continuation through the pins. This ball is cleaner and stronger on the backend than the Revolver series balls that preceeded it. It is also several boards stronger than the C System Versamax making the two the most formidable one two punch in bowling. It does a great job of handling slicker conditions where the Versamax wouldnt read without significant surface adjustments. This ball is very responsive to changes in release and speed. The newest C System release will continue to get stronger as you have to chase the pattern left during the breakdown period. Where other midlane reading symmetricals stop, this one turns into the Energizer bunny and just keeps coming! This is my new favorite ball as I have found that I can play almost anywhere on the house shot with it as long as I match speed and rotation to what I am trying to do. I can also see this ball working very well on sport type conditions as It displays that benchmark type reaction that typically makes flatter patterns more playable. Confidence comes with consistency and I am very confident in this ball. The C System Versamax is the type of reaction you don't want to be caught without. It has great carry, controlled roll, and versatility most other balls can't live up to. If you are looking for a great everyday benchmark type ball for moderate conditions the C System Maxxed out is the ball your looking for.

COMMENTS
Likes: Strength and ability to create angle through the pins.
Dislikes: Needs some oil. Definitely not a drier condition ball

The C System Ulti-max is the newest addition to a C System line that gives us Brunswick users never before seen ball motions. The Ulti-max is the ball that defies the critics who say that Brunswick balls don't create down lane angle and won't go through the pins when thrown away from the pocket. This ball likes lots of angle through the front, recovers on the back, and absolutely obliterates the rack. This ball carried almost everything but maybe in some cases the nine pin. I like it in situations where stronger balls like the Alphamax and the lethal are a little too much. It also fairs very well on flatter patterns where there is a little breakdown and you still have some volume of oil on the lanes. I went to this ball on the 39 foot Team USA pattern the third game when the Lethal Revolver was starting too early. I was able to make a move left and just let the ball wheel. I reeled off the front 8 for a 276 game with the only misses being my fault. If I missed left it held and if I missed a little right it recovered with ease. Those looking for skid flip and ability to open up the lane need to look no further. The C System Ulti-max is an absolute backend machine. Give the Ulti-max a test drive and enjoy the impressive backend motion!

This ball offers maximum versatility giving you the ability to master almost any moderate volume lane condition with the right release, drill pattern and surface prep. This ball is UNIQUE! I have never thrown another bowling ball with the shape this ball offers. The Versamax manages to be long through the front and read the back part of the pattern in such a way that is is strong but controllable. Controllable balls usually pick up so early in the midlane that when the pattern breaks down and you have to move left they won't conserve enough energy to make the turn and finish. The C System Versamax will allow you to move left and open up the pattern once the lanes do start to break down. When my Lethal Revolver reads to early in the midlane the Versamax allows me to push past the burn spot on the lanes and still control the breakpoint with phenomenal carry. I have also used this ball as a ball down option from my Nexus Pearl when it just plain hooks too much. The Versamax will allow you to stay right a little longer when that situation arises, while still allowing you to move left and open up the lane as the pattern continues to breakdown. This ball is all about control, versatility, and recovery at the back of the lane. On the Nationals pattern in Baton Rouge this ball was my best look as the heads went away. It continued to clear the front part of the lane with a predictable move on the backend during the transitional period and carry was really good! It was also the go to ball of one of my team event partners that shot three good sets during the tournament. This ball needs to be the go to ball for all bowling Nationals at the River Center this year and anyone that is looking for a versatile benchmark piece. If this isn't ball of the year I will be very surprised! The C System Versamax is the ultimate medium lane condition ball. Do yourself a favor and C what the Versamax can do for your game!

The C System 3.5 from Brunswick is quite simply a puzzle of scientific greatness. This ball has the quickest response to friction of any Brunswick ball I have ever thrown or any ball I've ever thrown for that matter. The quick friction response time is only a small part of what differentiates this ball from other balls on the market! The C System 3.5 seems to be able to do what other quick response balls normally are not able to do, be predictable. I can throw this ball out to the same area and no matter the condition of the backends it responds the same way every time. This Brunswick release possesses predictability, a large amount of hook, and fantastic pin-crushing carry. The C System 3.5 turns later than my Siege on our 40 foot house shot, and yet it covers about the same amount of lane. It hooks around 5 boards more than my skid-flip Wild Thing, 3 boards more than my Evil Siege, and is more angular than all of the above. This ball loves carrydown and seems to find a way to carry the backrow almost every time. It responds well to changes in hand position and speed, while maintaining the same consistancy as the C System 2.5. I used this ball for the majority of our three game league session with five-man teams this week. I only had to move 4 and 3 the whole night! That is simply not possible with any other ball in my bag. The C System technology is the real deal. With this ball you get angularity, consistancy, great carry, and plenty of hook! It's time to go to your local proshop and get yah some "Science Friction"!

The C System v4.5 is just what the doctor ordered for those Brunswick users looking for a ball to clear the front part of the lane. In years past the bowling public has perceived brunswick balls to struggle getting down the lane, creating area on the friction, and carrying the rack when being thown away from the pocket. This Pro Performance release is Brunswick's answer to these bowling situations and more! Billy O and the R&D guys have a boneified homerun here. This ball does everything our competitors balls are supposed to do well and combines it with the already documented C System length and pin carry. On our 40 foot house shot the ball is long and super strong, allowing me to play almost any area with speed changes, hand adjustments and ball surface adjustments. I threw this on our PBA experience Cheetah pattern, which was very tight on the corners for some reason, and I had several more boards of area when compared to the other bowlers around me in the bowling center. I ended up shooting 671 the week after shooting 555 the week before because I couldn't open up the lane. The C System is the cleanest rolling Brunswick ball I have ever thrown. I did most of my testing with the rough buff surface but don't let that fool you, this ball is super adjustable. If you need more grip, simply scuff with 2000 siaair and watch this ball come to life. Watching this ball go down the lane it reminds me of one of those past balls of the year from our competitors and it is simply unstoppable. The C System v4.5 is the reaction Brunswick fans have been waiting for. If you are looking for easy length, strong reaction, and predictable power on the breakdown look no further, the C System v4.5 is the answer!

The Damage is the new long and strong ball in Brunswick's new midprice ball series. This ball will be the first in the series replacing the snake balls. The Damage is the skid-snappiest mid-priced brunswick ball I have thrown to date. The ball is longer and more sideways than the the Python or the Rattler. It is also more violent at the breakpoint than the C System v4.5. The ball has matched up well for me so far in situations where I need to open up the lane slightly and the lanes have been dried out some and heavily transitioned. The ball is 3 boards longer than my pin up C System 4.5 and is stronger at the breakpoint. It is plenty snappy for me with a slower response layout and I'm not sure I would ever need one to be longer and stronger than this one already is. If you need a quick response ball with good length on medium to drier lane conditions, it's time to look at doing some Damage!

The Defender is a great stronger ball for slicker conditions. It has enough length to be more versatile than the earliest of heavier oil balls but still has plenty of midlane hook. This ball is my step up when balls like the Knockout Black/Blue aren't angular enough and are not strong enough. The Defender also is versatile enough to see play on the house shot and will see some sport shot use as well. This is a stronger Prism Warp with greater versatility. The Defender is a heavier oil ball with some length and recovery on the back part of the lane.

The Defender Hybrid is a cleaner stronger reacting type of ball reaction. This is the first of the HK22 balls that capitalizes on a cover material that is more angular than previous formulations. That is very evident when comparing this to the original Defender. This ball much longer and much more angular. This ball for me was pretty strong on our house shot and rolls much better with some added polish. Overall, I can see this one being a versatile quicker response ball for medium to medium heavy conditions. If you like strong backend performance, check out the Defender Hybrid.

The Diamondback is a new reaction shape for Brunswick in the Advance Performance line. If you are looking for a reactive solid with plenty of hook at the breakpoint, look no further! This ball takes a solid read of the midlane and then explodes into the pocket with an amount of angularity I have never seen in a Solid Symmetrical Ball from the great folks at Big B. Activator Solid is known as a smooth continuous reading solid formula, however, when pared with the Rocket Core it seems to become quite a bit more angular. Don't get me wrong, it's no C System 2.5 or Wild Thing as far as response time goes, but it is definitely more angular than past Brunswick solid releases in the Advanced Performance line. In fact, the ball had too much recovery in its out of box 2000 Siaair Micropad finish for our 40 food moderate to heavy volume house pattern, so I decided to take it down to 4000 so I wouldn't have to play so far in the middle of the lane. When compared to my similarly drilled 2000 grit Rattler, the Diamondback is 3 and 1 stronger with more angularity at the 4000 grit finish. From a pro shop operators perspective, it also compares very capably with other manufacturer's solid balls that tend to have faster response times than that of Brunswick and seems to possibly have more hook. In summary, this ball continues to improve on proven technology by providing a little bit of that new Brunswick angularity. If your looking for top tier performance at an affordable price look no further...The Diamondback is all of that and more!

The EdgePearl is a smooth and predictable ball with good length. It is a good compliment to the Edge Solid and earlier midlane reacting balls like the Fanatic SS. I find it to be best used when thee is friction up front and I need a softer move on the backend. For me it is about 5 and 2 right of the new Edge Solid on a house shot and about 4 feet later. The Edge Pearl is a great ball for paying more direct angles up the lane. If your looking for a ball to play straighter angles l and to stay near the friction on house conditions or to control the breakpoint on tougher shots, the Edge Pearl is a great choice

The Endeavor is a fantastic breakdown ball that will get lots of use for me. This one is a great step down from The Rhino Pro Teal and other stronger balls used on the fresher conditions. This one gets effortless length and continues down the lane better than anything I have. The higher RG found in this ball and the new Tiered Hexagon Core help it retain rotation better than any ball I have used previously. As soon as the lanes start to breakdown, I can count on this ball getting down the lane and coming around the back corner with authority. Anyone that is looking for length and recovery needs to check this ball out!

The Ethos is the successor to the popular Melee Jab Carbon. This one has HK22 which gives it a vibrant color and an even cleaner reaction. The Ethos is a little smoother, a little longer, and a few boards more than my Carbon. This ball will be usable for all styles on Medium to lighter conditions. I have found this one to be a good go to ball after the fresh condition has started to erode and I am moving left. If you are looking for length, predictable response, and value check out the Ethos.

COMMENTS:

The Ethos Hybrid is the earlier hooking cousin to the original Ethos. This one grabs the lane earlier than the original and works both on the fresh and on the breakdown. The cohesion additive really adds to the utility and the predictable nature of this ball. The Ethos Hybrid is a great first ball out of the bag as it handles oil well, blends the wed dry, and also handles carrydown well. I found this ball to be perfect league ball and should find a spot in the bag for most styles. The Ethos hybrid is an ideal benchmark ball.

The Evil Siege is the longer and stronger complement to the successful original Siege. The Evil has plenty of hook and angularity at the breakpoint, consistent with all of the newer performance releases from the Big B. This ball has a slight read of the midlane on our 40 foot house shot and then it drives through the pins with a sharp arc with excellent continuation. It is around 3 and 1 less than my original Siege. This ball is not your typical skid-snap ball, it has plenty of angularity, but it is so predictable it can even be used as a benchmark ball for those bowlers needing some extra hook in their arsenal. The Evil Siege is also an excellent complement to the new C System 3.5 when you need a slightly smoother ball reaction on fresher lane conditions. Big B has created a real winner across the board. It's time to get EVIL!

The Fanatic is a new controllable symmetrical ball featuring the core from the great C System Versamax. Many bowlers including myself have been hoping this core would return and it doesn't disappoint. It is about two boards straighter through the front and a foot or so longer than a Danger Zone. I can see this ball allowing me to stay closer to the friction on our house shot throughout this season. I also see the Fanatic being used on medium and shorter tournament patterns for long periods of time. The Fanatic is very versatile. I can change speeds and rotations and move throughout the lane. The Relativity V Composite cover should also enhance durability and extend the balls life span. Overall, this a great benchmark type ball that will perform for most bowlers on a wide variety of lane conditions.

The Fanatic BTU is the ball I have been waiting for. The drier part of the lane continues to hook more on house shots and the lane patterns continue to break down faster. I have wound up having to hook the ball too much and cover too many boards. This is the ball to remedy those situations. It allows me to play right in the track area on our house shot where I can have extra miss room left an right. In comparison to urethane, the ball has much better pin carry and does not ever load up with oil. It does not back down over time. The BTU is extremely consistent and will allow you to open the lane some as the pattern breaks down. I can also stay in the same spot with it for a much longer amount of time than I can with my other reactive balls. If your looking for a milder reacting ball with a urethane like reaction shape on today's condition, this is it!

The Fanatic BTU Pearl is the newest compliment to the successful Fanatic BTU. This version is a little longer and has a bit more of its reaction down lane. I went with a quicker transitioning layout to better compliment the differences in this ball compared to the original. Out of the box, the ball was a little stronger than I had in mind so I sanded the ball down to 4000 Siaair finish. This one has not disappointed and so far, has allowed me to play a little straighter and further right than my original BTU. The BTU Pearl is a little stronger on the backend and recovers a little better on errant shots wide on our house condition. I plan on using my original BTU on fresher shorter conditions and transitioning to this one later in the blocks. If you are looking for a better option on drier conditions than Urethane and you like a little extra movement on the backend, check out the BTU Pearl.

The Fanatic SS is the stronger predictable brother to the Fanatic and the Fanatic BTU. It has an earlier roll than the Fanatic with far more hook than the BTU. This is a great house shot or sport shot ball for when there is a good bit of lane oil present and you want to play that straighter angle. I find that it is a little earlier than my Forest Green Quantum and covers a few more boards on the fresher slicker conditions. With its quick revving forgiving symmetrical core, lower rev players will surely love the earlier roll this ball provides. Stronger handed players are also likely to love the control that this ball gives at the breakpoint. If you’re looking for a stronger rolling symmetrical ball with loads of value, checkout the Fanatic SS!

The Fortera Exile is a new ball in an entirely new series from Brunswick. Different is the best word to describe this ball! The Exile is the pinnacle of skid flip reaction and delivers anytime you need more length and more recovery. When other balls in my bag are starting to burn up and I am seeing what bowlers would typically describe as "carrydown" this ball really shines. Our house shot is very wet dry and usually require me to try and play the middle part lane because it is a much better strategy for my slower speed. The Fortera Exile gives me the option of moving toward the track area and throwing the ball out into the drier part of the lane. It has proven to eliminate the hang zone and give me an option I never had before! This ball also recovers well when pitching to the friction on cheetah or playing a defined gutter friction spot on Scorpion. As long as I have enough axis rotation off my hand and there is a defined friction spot this ball will recover. It will out corner anything when more length is needed, but there are better options for fresher slicker patterns like the new Melee Cross. The engineers at Brunswick have done an awesome job making this ball hit too. It really makes the pins fly and has a distinct crack when it hits the headpin! I have had a few extra messengers and even struck a few times when hitting the headpin flush since I have started using this ball. If your looking for a new skid flip piece to open up the lanes when friction is present check out the new Fortera Exile!

The Fortera Intrigue is the stronger compliment to the Fortera Exile. I find this ball to be a good step down from the Mastermind Intellect when I want to open up the lane. The Intrigue gives a small bit of midlane read with an angular backend shape. This ball recovers well on shots wide of target and really gives you the ability to open up a house shot. It reminds me of a Mastermind Genius with a little more angle down the lane. The Intrigue was a bit close in reaction to the Fortera Exile out of the box but quickly differentiated itself once the 2000 grit finish was applied. Pin carry is also well above average with this ball. It really seems to make the scouts come out to play. If your looking for a ball to open up the lane with when there is some oil inside the Fortera Intrigue deserves a spot in your bag.

he Hypnotize is one of the most versatile aggressive balls I have ever thrown. This ball fits between Mesmerize and Hypnotize in terms of total hook. It has become my go to ball to start with on slicker surfaces like Pro Anvilane and recovers well from most angles. The hybrid HK22C has just the right response time and characteristics for success where oil is present in league and tournament settings. If you are looking for an aggressive reaction with fantastic versatility, check out the Hypnotize.

COMMENTS:

The Ivory Rhino Pro is a very predictable ball on hooking house shots and heavily transitioned lane conditions. This HK 22 picks up surely down the lane and generates plenty of backend motion. The Ivory Rhino Pro is a great step down when balls like the Ethos Hybrid are hooking too early. This one is good from all over the lane. It plays well straighter and with steeper angles. Slower speeds and higher rev rates will particularly love this one. This Rhino really runs them over when the lanes are hooking!

The Jagged Edge Solid is a smooth rolling ball that is good on a variety of moderate conditions. It has a smoother shape that allows me to maintain control of the pocket when the lanes are on the tougher side. I have thrown this ball for the vast majority of league games this season so far due to its versatility. I am able to throw it very direct and also to move in and throw it away from me. This one is a bit longer than the Cutting Edge Hybrid and reminds me a bit more of the Magnitude 035. It seems to have a bit more rounded shape and carries just a bit better. Overall, this one is a great ball for the majority of bowlers on many moderate conditions and is a can't miss in my opinion.

The Johnny Petraglia LT-48 remake is a real tribute to the game of Mr. Petraglia himself. It is long, smooth, and it strikes a lot! I wanted my LT-48 to be a smoother shape so I chose a layout with a larger angle sum to take advantage of the balls intended reaction. This ball has been exactly what I imagined it to be and comes into play once my Melees are too strong. It is about 3 and 1 weaker than my shinier pin up Melee and very similar to my Ringer. The similarities end there as the Ringer is much more angular than the New Vintage LT-48. The Petraglia gets such easy length that I don't have to push it down the lane and I can get back to my roots as a slow hook guy. Typically with smoother weaker balls I am not able to get inside and open up my angles as much. The LT-48 is the exception to this rule and recovers really well when being thrown away from the pocket. It flat out crushed the 10 pin out! The drier the lanes get the more boards you can cover. I never had to worry about this one quitting. If you are looking for great length with a smooth but strong backend reaction check out the New Vintage Johnny Petraglia Lt-48.

Likes: The low hook potential and smooth roll allow me to stay closer to the dry
Dislikes: Was a little strong out of the box
Today's tournament lane conditions can be very wet/dry at times and bowling balls are getting stronger as time goes by. The Karma Urethane gives that vintage urethane look that smooths the wet/dry reaction out and allows me to play a little closer to the dry without sacrificing carry. I found this ball a little strong out of the box an so I ended up smoothing the surface out some and then polishing it. Once it was polished, the ball lived up to my expectations and allowed me to add a little rotation while playing right up the dry portion of the house shot. It also provided a significant amount of miss left as the ball just slid right to the pocket. I believe this ball will be a real winner when faced with conditions where you need to square up and you don't need the ball to hook much. Compared to the previous Avalance Urethane I find this ball to read the lane a little sooner and hook about 2 more boards. This ball would be a great option for a beginner bowler looking to learn the game and also looks to be a good option for those heavier handed individuals that need a lesser aggressive ball. If you are looking for a ball to smooth out drier conditions look no further than the Karma Urethane.

The Knock Out Black/Blue is the big brother to the original Knock Out. This one starts up a few feet sooner and handles a bit more oil. I tend to use this ball on our house shot when other balls are going too long and I need to blend the over/under out on the lane. The Knock Out Black/Blue is amongst the stronger symmetrical balls on the market and will work well for a variety of styles as long as some oil is present. This Knock Out is predictable symmetrical power.

The Knockout Bruiser is the successor to the original black Knock Out. This one has the same continuous reaction shape with more overall hook and more boards covered. I find that this ball works best on fresher medium patterns when a smoother reaction shape is needed. This one seems to take surface adjustments well and could very well be a stronger benchmark type ball for many different styles of bowler. This one has already been getting use when the League pattern is playing tighter than usual to start and should get plenty more user in the future. This Knockout is truly advanced benchmark performance.

COMMENTS
Likes: Versatility period. This ball will play on any medium pattern with at least some volume.
Dislikes: None really...the Lethal plays well in all the conditions it was designed for.

The Lethal Revolver is my favorite of all the newest Brunswick releases. As long as the oil in the midlane holds up this ball will be around the pocket. It reminds me of a very popular resent remake by one of our competitors. This ball reads the pattern true everytime and with surface adjustments will roll great for almost any style of player. This ball is not flashy or super angular but it is the type of ball that scores period! It also sneaky strong. I tried this ball briefly on a few higher volume sport patterns that I haven't listed above when only the Alpha Max would hook and wouldn't hook much. The thing that surprised me was that this ball would make the corner every time even if it didn't move a lot. Even with the late breakpoint it mixed the pins and struck on most of the pocket hits. It is not the oil monster the Alpha Max is but don't let the smooth breakpoint fool yah it will hook! If your looking for a do it all everyday readable benchmark ball this ball is for you. Do yourself a favor and Kill your competitions hopes with the Lethal Revolver!!!!

The Loaded Revolver is a versatile ball designed for medium conditions. This ball is one that quickly found its way into my bag because of its ability to provide several useable ball reactions while clearing the heads. Propel X has quickly become my new favorite coverstock because of the motion it creates through the pins, and this ball provides that motion with a little less hook than the Wicked Siege. This one was usable in box finish but I found it was too close to a pin up Wicked Siege that I have, so I shined it up. After applying polish, the ball hooks about 3 and 2 less, while providing several more feet of length. This release reminds me the most of my favorite ball of all time a pin down Rattler with a hole and will find lots of use. I threw the ball in league for the first time and shot 793 with a 290 while throwing the ball poorly. The Loaded Revolver recovered from every miss right, scattering the pins and providing a strong but predictable ball motion. If you need a ball for moderate lane conditions that will give you above average length and mix the pins look no further. Take advantage of the rebate and GET LOADED!

The Magnitude 035 is the ball I have been waiting on for quite some time. It has a lower differential weight block that allows it to clear the heads and retain energy combined with a cover that will read the pattern well. This ball makes the average house shot look quite easy. It allows me to move right and take advantage of the hold provided by the volume in the middle of the pattern. I can finally play the lanes the way the guys with all the speed and the tilt do without having to pile on the ball speed. This ball creates extra room all over the lane. If you have enough friction and you have a semi consistent release it is quite hard to miss the pocket with this ball. I also noticed extra room right with the Magnitude 035. In situations where other balls would just burn up and stop this ball would keep coming. I felt like I had gone back in time 15 years as far as lane transition was concerned. The Magnitude 035 allowed me to make minimal adjustments while making both lanes on the pair seem almost identical. I almost never see the lane this way in the current environment. The forgiving qualities of this ball are going to come into play very often. It should get quite a bit of use on the tougher patterns for this very reason. The Magnitude 035 should be a great choice for tournament player and league bowlers alike. Consistent versatility that makes the lane look easy that is the Magnitude 035.

The Massive Damage is the newest release to add to a long list of balls that deliver impressive value. This is the most resent ball to give you that traditional breakpoint pearl read at a more affordable price. This ball most closely reminds me of the Rattler and Inferno balls because it has a sure midlane read and great carry. I can see myself using it on the house shot here most of the time and trying to square up in situations where the midlane has started to breakdown a bit. It should be a nice fit up underneath something like a loaded revolver. This ball is stronger on the backend than the Anaconda it replaces and makes an earlier move than the Damage. If your looking for a smooth arcing pearl for moderate lane conditions it might be time to do some Massive Damage!

The Mastermind is the strongest ball I have ever thrown but it is a bit off a puzzling ball reaction. I've never thrown a ball that is this strong at the breakpoint that hooks on oil and doesn't quit down lane ever. This ball glides effortlessly through the first 30 foot of lane no matter whether the lanes are broken down on fresh in box finish! If I need more hook I simply add more surface and if not I smooth the surface out some. It is a very simple ball to adjust without having to worry about early hook in the heads. The mastermind will also recover from well from extreme angles. Fifth arrow was in play on our house shot with this ball and nothing else got close. Playing traditional lines it was a full 5 and 3 move left from my Paranormal with a much quicker move. If you are looking for help on heavier conditions pick up a Mastermind and let er' rip!!!!

The Mastermind Brainiac is the longest and strongest of the balls in the Mastermind series. It is a foot longer and more angular than the previously released Mastermind Scholar, while covering a similar number of boards. I find it to be a 2 and 1 move right on our house shot and several feet longer when comparing it to the Mastermind Einstein. The Brainiac works best for me when the lanes start to break down and I need to open up my angles and throw the ball to the right. I believe it is the longest most angular Brunswick ball to date. Our house shot really has the tendency for most balls to burn up when the ball gets out past seven or so at the breakpoint. This is the only ball I have tested that seems to eliminate the burn spot and allow me to get the ball to return from the out of bounds. The new composite coverstock seems to do this in spite of the fact that you also can't seem to throw it past the breakpoint without completely missing the ball at the bottom of the swing. It is truely unusual to see this kind of length, strength, and predictability in one package. This Mastermind also allows me to play more angle while not having to apply as much axis rotation. It excels in situations where there is some friction and you need that extra pop down on the back part of the lane. With the correct hand and speed combination I really can't see a situation where I won't be able to get this ball to cover a bunch of boards in a hurry. It is the perfect complement to balls like the Nirvana and Melee Hook. I can see this ball being a go to piece for the weaker handed player looking to see more backend motion from the dry once other balls start to flat ten. If you are looking for length, strength, and and super angular backend recovery, check this one out.

Dislikes: Box finish provided a little too much lenght
The Mastermind Genius is the second release in the highly popular Mastermind series. The Mastermind has been the best performing oil ball that I have ever had due to its continuous backend reaction. The Mastermind can be a bit too strong at times when there isn't enough oil on the lanes. The new Mastermind Genius is the ticket in these situations. On our house shot the Genius was about 5 and 2 weaker than a similarly drilled Mastermind. It is several feet longer and provides a stronger and more angular backend reaction. The Genius is also very predictable and never misses the hook spot even when I fail to get the right amount of rotation on the ball. I fired a 707 with it right out of the box but it was just a little bit too long in the oil for my liking. I decided to freshen up the ball finish and then apply 4000 grit Siaair to the top of it. The reaction has been perfect ever since. The strength of the Genius is not only in the backend reaction but in the versatility it possesses. I was able to test it out on a higher volume Cheetah pattern and the ball really shined! It allowed me to move 7 and 1 left of my Melee. The Mastermind Genius was able to really bring it from the 4th arrow out the gutter and all the way back. The angularity was truly impressive. This is going to be my go to ball when I need to open up my angles on a condition that has volume and my Mastermind is too much. Take advantage of the $20 dollar rebate and get smarter instantly!

The Mastermind Strategy is a stronger upgraded version of the original Mastermind. The newer Composite Coverstock technology helps the ball start a bit sooner and still maintain some motion down the lane. This one is much earlier than the Brainiac and will work very well when the lane conditions are fresh. I believe I will find this ball to excel when I need something to even out the wet dry ball reaction caused by today's slicker surfaces and higher volumes. This ball possesses a controllable reaction simply not seen in most reactive balls. If your looking for strong, controllable performance with plenty of hook the Mastermind Strategy is more than worth your consideration!

The Versamax was my favorite of all the Brunswick releases last year because of its versatility and easy length but there were certain situations where I could use a little extra movement down lane. The Meanstreak is the answer to this issue. It is a little weaker on the fresh conditions but a little stronger on the breakdown with a stronger move at the breakpoint. I have an early laydown point and prefer to slow hook the ball and the Meanstreak is just the ball for this type of application. It clears the heads with ease and makes it to the ideal breakpoint even when I let up on the speed a little or get it down early. It also allows me to feed the ball a little further right as the lanes breakdown and it hooks up to the pocket area with authority. The pin carry is well above average as the ball saves lots of rotational energy and as long as there is enough friction the Meanstreak will return from almost any where on the lane. This ball has quickly become my new favorite go to ball on medium conditions as it suits my style of play perfectly. If you are looking for a versatile ball with a strong breakpoint on medium lane conditions check out the new Meanstreak from Brunswick!

Likes: Smooth roll and easy recovery from a ball that reads the middle of the lane.
Dislikes: none
The Meanstreak Brawler has been my go to ball and one of my all time favorites. I throw it whenever I can. There are times, however, when the Brawler is just not strong enough to match up to the lane conditions and my Aura series balls are just too strong off of the friction. The new Meanstreak Beatdown answers the call in these situations and provides an earlier read with more overall hook. The Beatdown is about 5 and 3 stronger than a similarly drilled Brawler while reading the middle part of the lane several feet earlier. The Beatdown is also several board stronger than the C System Maxxed out with a stronger move off of the friction and more backend recovery. That backend move is what continues to separate this (and recent releases) from those Brunswick balls of the past. As I moved left with it and the house condition I was bowling on broke down, the Beatdown would continue to recover unlike some balls I have rolled in the past. The added recovery accompanying the smooth move will allow me to stay with this ball for a much longer time than other pieces with this reaction shape. The Beatdown not only allows you to have more backend recovery and more hook in the oil when you need it, but It also smooths out ball reaction on wet/dry lane conditions. Our house shot tends to make ball reactions look very flippy on the fresh. The Meanstreak Beatdown was just smooth, strong, and continuous. As the lanes dried out I moved an arrow left, rotated my hand around the side of the ball more, and continued to strike! If you are looking for a smooth powerful ball to smooth out wet/dry conditions or just a ball with reliable backend recovery on slicker conditions the Meanstreak Beatdown is a wonderful choice!

Likes: Controllable versatility and the hybrid version of the Nexxus P+F shell.
Dislikes: none
The Meanstreak Brawler is the new age version of Brunswick benchmark versatility. I like many, had the pleasure of rolling the original Nexus P+F and found it not only to be strong on oil but smooth and versatile. This ball brings that same smooth transition and versatility to a line already featuring great balls like the first Meanstreak. This ball is a few feet sooner than the Versamax while featuring some of the backend recovery of the meanstreak. The shape of the reaction going down the lane along with some of the bronze in the cover really remind me of the Absolute Inferno. It had a wide range of use and this ball does also. The Brawler is powerful, versatile and not condition specific. When the Maxxed out is too much the Meanstreak Brawler comes into play with more recovery than the Meanstreak or Versamax. This ball has been useful thus far evening out some of the wet/dry transitions on the fresh house conditions I have encountered while still allowing me to chase the pattern left as they breakdown. As long as the front part of the lane holds up this ball is in play and really takes care of business. It has also been useful for reading lanes at the start of the night. The Brawler is smooth, powerful, and consistent. Because of these characteristics, this ball has seen a lot of use already and has found a place in my bag everywhere I go. If your looking for a moderately strong ball that can be used in most situations check out the Meanstreak Brawler and you will be glad you did.

The Melee is the updated answer to the very successful Versamax. If you owned the Versamax you already know how usable and unique the reaction was. If you didn't own one you missed out and here is the chance to get in on the fun! The Melee is about 2 and 1 stronger than the Versamax with more length and a stronger move off at the breakpoint. The Melee also has more continuation at the breakpoint and because of the extra energy retention really carries the corner pins well. So far I am at 1523 for 6 games of league this week with just the Melee. The ball is simply spectacular and I have no plans of putting it down unless the conditions drastically change! I am not sure I have ever had a better match up on our house shot! I can also see the Melee getting a bunch of use on a variety of moderate sport shot conditions due to its great versatility. Just make your adjustments as the lanes breakdown and it works from almost any angle. I can see this ball with the proper surface and layout working for almost any style. If you can change speeds or rotation and you bowl on moderate conditions all you need is a Melee!

The Melee Cross is an excellent complement to the original Melee from Brunswick. The teal machine is about an arrow stronger than the Melee on our house shot and its all in the midlane. The Cross is also more aggressive and more angular down lane than the Meanstreak Beadown that preceded it. The Melee Cross has worked well for me when I need a ball to step down from the Mastermind that will still read sooner than other options in my bag. This ball is an excellent choice when you need a symmetrical ball that will create friction on slicker patterns. I had no problem getting it to read the slickest part of the lane on Scorpion. It seems to have a lot of versatility and is playable from most angles on the lane. I can see it being the ball I start out with on our house shot in the coming fall leagues. It also works well on higher volume shorter patterns when you need something to blend out the lane condition. If your looking for excellent value and performance on oilier lane conditions try a Melee Cross!

The Melee Hook is a strong symmetrical ball that excels on patterns with more oil. On our house shot, this Melee allows me to play more direct angles while being able to handle the extra volume in the heads. This ball also allows me to continue to move in as the night goes on. It seems to allow me to stay in the same area longer. I have been able to make it through several league sessions without changing balls which is abnormal for me. The Melee Hook also tends to display the durable characteristics of the other newer composite technology balls. It is cleaner through the heads than similar older releases and it seems to maintain its hooking ability longer, while needing less frequent maintenance. The reaction shape is a blend of a Melee Cross and a Versamax. It is later than the Cross and Earlier than the Versamax. I can see myself using it in situations where the lane pattern is more wet/dry or anytime a smoother reaction is needed. I also can see it being the first ball out of the bag for many bowler styles. If you are looking for a smooth, predictable, and strong benchmark symmetrical ball the Melee Hook will exceed your expectations.

The Melee Jab is a stronger version of the original Melee. It gives me a very useable step down from more aggressive balls like the Melee Cross with more recovery down lane than other options like the Ringer Solid. The Melee Jab picks up the read a little sooner than the red Melee while still giving plenty of length and recovery. This ball will be my go to benchmark ball to read ball reaction on any lane condition. It has the consistent reading characteristic of a solid, while also having the back end recovery of the pearl. This ball seems to play well from all angles across the lane. I was able to start playing up the 7th board on Viper and wind up pitching it left to right from the 3rd arrow all the way to that breakpoint with no issues. The ball would get as angular as I wanted it to be with more axis rotation and would also smooth out properly without rolling out too early when I rolled up behind it more. It has been an absolute pleasure to roll! This is truly a ball that most any bowler could use effectively. If you are looking for a benchmark ball with length and recovery throw a Jab!

The Mesmerize is quite possibly the strongest ball I have ever thrown. I have not run into a lane condition where it would not hook. We also have not found a bowler that throws the ball too fast for it to be useable. The HK22 cover with cohesion additive seems to get this ball started without it going forward early like other aggressive bowling balls. As you get further left and the lane transitions, this ball will still strike. If you're looking for the strongest ball on the market, prepare to be Mesmerized!

The Nexus pearl is the strongest ball on the backend in the Brunswick lineup. This ball is the ball to go to when you need to open your angles up and throw the ball away from the pocket. I go to this ball when the Nexus solid or Lethal Revolver are too much. As the lane pattern breaks down, the ball does not quit and continues to come back. What makes this ball different is the sheer amount of recovery it has on a broken down condition. Quit is not in its vocabulary! This ball also unusually durable for a high performance piece, after 50 games of use it still hooks as much as it did day one. The Nexus Pearl is the longer, straighter, more angular counter part to the Nexus Solid. If your looking for a high performance skid-flip pearl grab a Nexus pearl and watch your scores improve!

The Nexus Solid is the strongest ball I have ever thrown or seen go down a lane period! This ball eats oil for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and any other time for that matter. It has a jaw dropping amount of recovery and draws attention from bowlers all around where I bowl. As of the time of this review, I have yet to find an out of bounds it wont come back from on a house shot. It is like that bunny that sells batteries on television, it just keeps coming and coming and coming back! The Nexus solid also gets stronger and maintains hitting power as the lane breaks down and changes unlike other oil balls in the past. The coverstock additive gets the ball to maintain more axis rotation giving you greater entry angle and thus improving carry. I have sent more messengers with the Nexus solid than any ball I have ever owned. I have had nights so far with this ball where if it went right of third arrow it was a strike. This ball will allow the average person to open their angles up and still strike in a way they previously haven't been able to. On a tight house condition, I got off to a rough start to the night because I couldn't get the ball back, I went and picked up the Nexus solid and shot 588 for two ending in an 800 series. No other ball could have gotten around the corner the way the Nexus Solid did. The special continuous ball motion is going to make the Nexus Solid a big winner amongst all bowlers looking for more recovery and more area. If you are looking for the strongest ball motion on the market and great hitting power pick up a Nexus before you get beat by one!

The Karma Pink/Purple is a great choice on light to medium oil conditions. This ball clears the heads as well as the Nexus pearl and returns with a swooping backend motion. It gives you the Nexus pearl shape with less hook. The ball just plain gets it done when the lanes start transitioning and the stronger balls in the line are just too much. For me the Karma Pink/Purple is about 5 boards less than C System Versamax and a few boards weaker than the Karma Solid with more length. This ball will be my go to ball when the lanes really breakdown. The carry is much improved over previous lighter oil balls and messengers fly at will. I believe this will also be a great starter piece for those beginner bowlers looking to start hooking the ball. If you need a great angular ball for lighter medium conditions the Karma Pink/Purple is your answer!

The Nexxus is an upgraded version of the very popular Nexus Solid. This new release possesses what many of us didn't think was possible: More Hook! The Nexxus made a very slick 43 foot sport pattern look like a joke. I was able to get about 8 boards deeper than one of my friends with a competitors masonry based product. The shorter angle pin up ball made the out of bounds look non existent. After about a game and a half, the ball would wheel the entire lane with ease and come back from almost anywhere. Compared to similarly drilled Nexus Solid balls, the new Nexxus balls hook about 5 boards more. The larger angle pin down ball has a smooth hook set motion while the smaller angle pin up ball hooks the whole lane with lots of continuation. On our house shot the pin over ball requires me to start at around the 23 board at the arrows out to board 7 or so. It is simply a monster!!!! These ball with definitely see lots of use on oilier patterns that we bowl on during the PBA Regional Schedule and other scratch tournaments. The ball seems to match up better for higher speed bowlers on our moderate volume house shot thus far. One of our left handed teammates has shot big scores with it the last several weeks. It has changed his game for sure, as he sees more recovery and is able to move inside more as the lanes change. The Nexxus is a new standard in oil handling ability. If you are looking for maximum recovery on slicker lane conditions join the Brunswick revolution and roll with the Nexxus!

COMMENTS
Likes: Ability to open the lane and overall versatility from a ball of this type
Dislikes: Needs a little more oil than your standard big backend ball
Brunswick was looking for a gamechanger with the release of the new Nexxxus and they have it!!!! Typically pearl polished type of bowling balls provide bowlers with lots of length and recovery down lane but only do so on transitions and or drier lane conditions. This ball redefines what that kind of pearl ball is capable as it gives a strong backend motion on fresher lane conditions. The Nexxxus fits in between the the Nexus Solid and the Nexus Pearl respectively. It is 2 and 1 straighter than the solid and 4 and 2 stronger than the pearl on the 41 foot house condition I tested it on. The ball was just flat out impressive on our sports league when it came time for Shark and the US Open patterns. I was able to shoot 600+ on both patterns and as long as I continued to chase the breakpoint in and down the lane the ball kept coming back and taking em down. Pearl balls with a smoother, shinier surface also typically are not very versatile for most bowlers. They usually are just reserved for that stand left throw right occasion. This ball has a versatility to it that I have never had or witnessed in a longer stronger pearl ball. If I change rotations it is like having two completely different bowling balls. With less axis rotation it will roll and set into the pocket, but if I change and go around the ball at the release it will boomerang as much as I want it to. It also will take many different spots in the bag with surface changes. At 1500 Siaair it will hook early on a pattern with more volume and with shine it will play on a shorter thinner pattern after breakdown. The Nexus technology has completely redefined what a long and strong ball will do. It is like having 3 balls in one. If you can vary your surfaces with this ball your options are endless. Long and strong has been redefined as long, strong, and extremely versatile. The new king of the pearls has arrived: the Nexxxus!!!! If you haven't had a good look at Brunswick lately do your bowling scores a favor and check out the performance and versatility of the new technology.

COMMENTS

The Perfect Mindset is a slightly cleaner quicker responding version of the Original Mindset. This ball is better suited for bowlers looking to play further in the oil on fresher conditions. I can also see this ball working well for bowlers with faster speeds on house shots. This is a very strong ball that needs oil but is still pretty versatile. Overall, the Perfect Mindset is a great choice for oilier conditions and more speed dominant bowlers.

The Prism Warp Hybrid is clean through the fronts with a strong backend motion. It builds on the characteristics of both the original Prism Warp and the Prism Hybrid. This one is long like the Hybrid but with a little more rounded shape like the Prism Warp. It is a great step down when balls like the Warp are too much and too early. This one seems to be pretty good from the track area inside and seems to be very versatile. It possesses the recovery to get back from steep angles but also has the ability to blend the lane due to the little bit of additional midlane. This first Prism Hybrid was a big time hit and I expect this one to be just that much better due to the extra versatility.

I drilled my Python as a step down from my favorite Rattler as a replacement for the Smash Zone and Swarm balls that I had in my line up. The Python delivers just as its performance line predecessors have with amazing bang for your buck. On a 41 foot house shot on fairly new AMF Synthetics the Python is 2 and 1 Right on the lane with a quicker response time at the breakpoint when being compared to the Rattler. The Python swells up down the lane at the breakpoint and goes through pins like cheese through a grader. This is a more angular replacement as compared to the Swarm it replaces in the line up. When the lanes are staring to bite with friction...bite back with the Python!

The Black Quantum is a versatile ball that offers better than average hitting power on moderate conditions. I find that it gives me more recovery down lane than the Forrest Green Quantum with more overall hook than the Red Quantum. This ball seems to be very comfortable with angles that are closed or open. I can see myself using it in situations where I need more angle going through the conditions on moderate conditions. I feel it will be the perfect option to use when my Green Quantum or my Inferno are too early. This ball gives more angle and recovery when other balls are flattening out and starting too soon. This one also comes with the option for the free 3 ball bag. Check out the Black quantum for more backend recovery and a bonus 3 ball bag!

COMMENTS

The Quantum Evo Hybrid is an earlier rolling version of the previous released Quantum Evo Pearl. This one has a different version of the EVO core combined with a newer cover formulation. It fits in right between the Quantum Evo Solid and Pearl. The Quantum Evo Hybrid has good traction in the oil and is very responsive down lane without being too early. This one is going to be a great ball for those bowling on medium to heavier volumes and or those with higher ball speed. This one should be the most popular of the EVOs. If your looking for an angular ball that reacts well on oilier lanes check out the Quantum EVO Hybrid.

The Quantum Evo Pearl is a very strong revving pearl for moderate lane conditions. I tend to use this one after the stronger midlane reading balls start to hook too early. The pin carry of Evo Pearl tends to be very good and it works very well on our house shot. This Quantum should be a great ball for those with faster speeds or lower rev rates. This one clears the front part of the lane but stands up very quickly down the lane and goes left quickly. If you are looking for a pearl ball that will hit the friction and come back strong, the Quantum Evo Pearl is for you.

The Quantum Evo Solid is a very strong continuous ball that enjoys heavy oil. This ball has a very strong cover and eats oil for breakfast. The Evo Solid is the strongest ball in the current Brunswick lineup and will be used on the heaviest conditions. During testing, I was unable to throw this ball past the breakpoint and found it best used inside of the oil on the house shot. This one is quite a bit earlier than the EVO Pearl and makes for a strong one two punch. If you have trouble getting your ball to hook soon enough or need a ball for oiler conditions, check out the Quantum Evo Solid.

The Revolver is Brunswick's newest high performance series ball and is a fantastic complement to the rest of the line. The Revolver has a new stronger version of the connexion coverstock that provides a controllable, hard arcing reaction. This ball fits in just between my Wild Card and Wild Thing's and provides me with a very useable reaction. I feel like this ball will allow me to play most any oilier medium volume and will smooth out that dreaded wet/dry reaction. This ball will allow you to throw the ball further right at the breakpoint than you can with the Wild Card, while giving you an earlier rolling reaction than the other two previous wild series balls. I feel this ball will be expo beneficial to those speed dominant bowlers looking for a ball to use on moderate flat patterns and house shots. If you are even the slightest bit speed dominant, be sure to pick up one of these, you may never want to put it down.

The Rhino is a strong and smooth entry level ball from Brunswick. It is a great value and hooks a bit more than you would expect. It is a little longer than the Strike King it replaces and a bit more angular at the breakpoint. I plan to use this ball when my benchmark balls, like the Danger Zone, are hooking too much. When comparing it to the Danger zone it is about a 5 and 3 move right on the lane with my feet. The Rhino also hooks a few feet later. I believe it will see a good bit of use later in tournament blocks and when I need to start out playing right in the drier part of the lane during league. If your looking for a great performance for a good value I recommend checking out the new Rhino.

The Ringer is the first affordable performance ball from Brunswick to feature their new cover technology. The ball is new from the inside out and it shows. The new technology in the Ringer allows it to be the cleanest Brunswick ball to date. This ball is several feet longer than the Karma Pearl pink/black and a few boards stronger on the fresh house condition. It is surprisingly strong for a ball at this price point. Where this ball shines is once the condition breaks down. As I moved inside and the pattern broke down the ball retained its length while becoming stronger and stronger at the breakpoint. There was not a place on the lane I felt the Ringer would not come back from. This was also apparent after the Shark pattern I was practicing on continued to breakdown and I picked up the Ringer. The new release was very strong and made it back from left of fifth arrow. Simply put, the Ringer has the strongest change of direction down the lane of any ball I have ever thrown. If you like a skid flip ball motion with great hitting power this is your ball. This ball, in my opinion, may be the surprise release of the year. If your looking for game changing recovery on broken down lane conditions, check out the Ringer and kick your game into high gear.

The Platinum Ringer is a go to ball on medium to lighter conditions or severe breakdown. This ball fits in right between the original Ringer and the strike king with a quicker response to friction than both. Once the lanes have transitioned and the boomers have really dried the heads out a bunch I can use this ball to move back right a little and continue striking. As the night goes on, the Platinum Ringer allows me to continue to chase the transition inside without having to worry about whether it will recover. It is 2 and 1 weaker than my original Ringer with better length and a stronger move at the breakpoint. The Ringer was the most flippy ball in the Brunswick lineup for me until the release of the Platinum Ringer. If your looking for a skid flip reaction on drier conditions take a good look at the new Platinum Ringer. You wont be disappointed!

The Ringer Solid has to be one of the strongest balls available at its price point. I didn't really have anything in mind when drilling the Ringer Solid. I just applied one of my favorite layouts and went to the lanes. This Ringer was noticeably smoother and stronger than the other two. I found it to be an arrow and a half stronger than the recently released platinum. It is also quite a bit sooner. The shape of the reaction is smooth and predictable with no surprises. I have found this ball to be the best in my bag for reading a pattern and I use the shinier one as my benchmark ball. Once I got it dialed in I decided to drill the second one with a little larger angle sum and leave the surface for blending out wet/dry patterns. The polished shorter angle drill hooks about the same amount as my similarly drilled Melee with a smoother shape. The longer drill angle ball with surface is smoother and more predictable yet. It is also a little stronger due to the difference in surface finishes. I have thrown these balls with success on the Cheetah, Scorpion, Los Angeles, and several house patterns. This ball just flat out works and it is currently my favorite ball! I don't leave home without these as it seems to work 90 percent of the time. If your looking for a strong symmetrical ball that doesn't break the bank check out the Ringer Solid!

The Strike King is a stronger flippier replacement for the slingshot. It has easy length and strong response to friction much like the Ringer only with less overall hook. The ball is a 3 and 1 move right off my Ringer and will allow me to play more direct when encountering drier conditions. It hooks about the same amount as my Karma Urethane with a ton more length and a much stronger move on the backend. The Strike King will also allow you to move left and play inside some once the condition is very fried. It is an incredible value at its price point. The bang for your buck doesn't get much better than this! If you are seeking a strong backend reaction on drier lane conditions the Strike King is just the ball your looking for.

The new Teal Rhino Pro is a great throwback to one of the greatest balls of all time. This one is very smooth rolling just like the original except stronger. The updated coverstock shows up big time in this one allowing me to cover plenty of boards. This is a great benchmark ball for bowlers who are rev dominant to a match. It is also a great smoother ball down option for those bowlers who have a little more speed. This one will be good for all styles. Don't miss out on one of the greatest ever making a return with new technology!

The True Nirvana is a picture of long and strong. It comes off the friction down the lane very hard while exhibiting very little oil sensitivity. This ball can be used in some fresh lane situations when you need to open your angles. The True Nirvana is very hard to throw past the breakpoint. I find that firm misses that would result in washouts with other pearl balls result in pocket hits with this ball. With the right release and ball speed you can also move right with it. It is the perfect step down from the stronger Nirvana or Mastermind balls. The True Nirvana is not weak but it does get great length. I find this one to be several feet later than the Absolute Nirvana with several more boards of recovery on the backend. If your looking for a reliable, versatile skid snap ball check out the True Nirvana.

The Ultimate Defender is a very strong ball. It is a combination of the best parts of the previous two Defender series releases. This one is earlier than the Defender Solid but later than the Defender Hybrid. I find this ball to cover more boards than both. It slots in between the Perfect Mindset and the Mindset in the current lineup. This one is more responsive down the lane than both of those balls with a fairly quick move at the breakpoint. Out of the box it needs Oil. It worked best for me with a smoother surface. I decided to leave it at 4000 grit so that I could use it more during league play. Overall, the Defender Hybrid is a great responsive option on oilier lanes.

The Composite Coverstock technology train continues! The Ultimate Nirvana is a longer and stronger version of the original Nirvana. The Nirvana is a great ball for oilier conditions but can be a bit early for our house shot. The Ultimate Nirvana is the answer for this situation. It recovers very well when missing right of target on the house shot and creates quite a bit of room. It excels as the games go on as you have to move further and further into the slickest part of the lane. The Ultimate Nirvana is about 2 and 1 stronger than the original and several feet longer. It has been a pleasure to throw and thus far it has shown to be every bit as durable as other Composite Cover balls. For a ball that hooks fairly soon it has quite a bit of down lane energy and really carries the pins well. League night is a lot of fun standing left and throwing right with this new beast! It is the total package as far as versatile, stronger equipment is concerned and will continue to get quite a bit of use. The Ultimate Nirvana combines overall hook and power into an attractive package that will work on a variety of medium to oily conditions.

COMMENTS:

The Vaporize is the perfect complement to the Mesmerize. This ball gets great length and recovers very well. The Vaporize is extremely fun to throw and is playable from multiple angles. It excels when the fresh condition has started to change and has blended. Once carrydown starts, the Vaporize really shines and recovers well. This one really grabs the middle part of the lane better than most pearl balls due to the cohesion additive in the HK22. If you are a speed dominant bowler, this is the long and strong ball you have been waiting for! I usually use it in the middle of the oil on the house shot or on longer sport conditions with less volume. If you are looking for length with sure recovery or a step down from the Mesmerize, the Vaporize is the answer.

The Inferno Series was a great series of balls that I had a lot of success with. When I found out they were bringing back the Original I was very excited! The Vintage Inferno takes me back to the days where I had several of the Orange and Black ones in the bag. This one has been my first ball out of the bag on nearly everything since I drilled it and to me It rolls just like the Original. It is very clean through the front part of the lane with that predictable arcing transition that I first fell in love with. The low rg Inferno weight block allows the Vintage Inferno to rev up quickly, while the new Activator 2.0 Coverstock gives you the length you need. I find this ball to fit in between the Magnitude 035 and the Quantum Classic Black. It is a little quicker off the friction than the Magnitude 035 and a little slower than the Black Quantum. In my opinion, this is the perfect benchmark ball. If you are looking for that benchmark pearl, look no further than the Inferno. Don’t miss out on the return of one of the best balls ever made.

If you haven't heard, the Wicked Siege is the newest advancement in High-Performance bowling balls from the great folks at Brunswick. This one has garnered rave reviews at the World Series of Bowling and its no wonder why! I'm sure many of you have heard staff reviews talking about how great and different a new release is but this one truly is! This is hands down the most versatile brunswick release I have ever thrown that cleared the front part of the lane. The ball clears the first 30 feet effortlessly, makes a controlled move late in the midlane, and then arcs into the pocket with incredible continuation. I don't see any kind of medium lane condition this ball won't match up on with the right surface. There isn't a ball past or present that I can compare it to. The range of motions available to you by the Wicked Siege is really almost endless! As the lanes breakdown, the ball clears the fronts just as well as it did on the fresh house condition and the ball motion is powerfully predictable. Ball 1 gives me length an a quick transition on the backend and Ball 2 gives me a stronger read of the midlane but is still has a quicker response than most Brunswick balls at the breakpoint. My similarly drilled C System v4.5 is about 5 boards weaker than my pin up Wicked Siege. The pin down Wicked Siege is about 3 boards stronger and several feet earlier than My similarly drilled Anaconda. The Wicked tends to have a stronger read of the midlane than the 4.5 and is a little cleaner than the Anaconda. If Your looking for a versatile ball on a medium-type of pattern, it's time to get Wicked!

The Wild Card is a new generation of benchmark ball from Brunswick. With this new release they have taken the Connexion coverstock in the solid form and placed it on the Paragon Core. This ball gives the bowler a midlane read with more response than Brunswick fans and bowlers in general have seen from Brunswick in the past on the backend. With the slower response layout I choose I was looking for a smoother rolling piece to read lanes with and keep me in play when the pattern is wet dry and I can't get to the pocked with other balls. This ball gave me a predictable read in the midlane with plenty of hook and pin action that is definitely better than smoother rolling balls that Brunswick has had in the past. Connexion coverstock definitely has improved continuation at the pins when compared with Powerkoil 18 or Activator coverstock. I got everything I asked for and more with the Wild Card. In spite of its large hook potential, I could see this ball being the go to ball across a variety of lane conditions as it is already become the first ball out of the bag for me in a short time. When you need a ball to conquer the lanes pull out the ace in the hole...the Wild Card.

The Zenith is the strongest ball in the Brunswick lineup. Compared to the Previous Prism Solid ,it is a touch longer and has better recovery at the breakpoint. With a weaker and smoother transitioning layout, this ball still managed to cover board and hit well from all across the lane. The Zenith hits the middle part of the lane in the perfect spot to maximize its hook potential without burning up. This one will come out of the bag on slicker house conditions and slicker tournament conditions. I could see it being an everyday ball for speed dominant bowlers. If you are looking for early hook and a versatile strong motion, the Zenith is your ball.

The 3D Offset is a special ball with a smooth reaction you don't normally see from a pearl type bowling ball. This one is a bit stronger than the Widow 2.0 or the Obsession Tour pearl but with a completely different shape. When the other two balls stop this one keeps going. The amount of continuation you see from this ball is quite unusual for the smooth shape it has. The 3D is playable from all angles as long as you have enough oil and is my first choice if the lanes are on the slicker side. This one is much stronger than you would think but is a must have in the bag. It is a blend of the smoothness of old with the strength of newer technology. Everyone should own a new 3D Offset.

The Web Tour Hybrid is a very controllable benchmark type ball for medium to lighter conditions. It is the smoothest rolling ball in my bag and is playable as long as there is some friction present. This one makes quick work of the wet/dry house shot situation we have in league. I am able to use more rotation and softer speed than with many of the balls I typically throw. I will be drilling a second one soon to compliment this one with an earlier breakpoint. Dependable, controllable, hard hitting describe the Web Tour Hybrid well. If you are looking for that benchmark ball for use on the friction this is your Hammer.
