Watching the ball videos are great, but it doesn't matter when YOU, throw the ball. I thought it was a dud, I had to figure this ball out. For some reason I forgot that you have to learn the new ball, it's not like your old ball and my motto is "Same Arm, New Ball" (SANB) This ball is strong, and was hard to read at first but once I figured it out (1 month)...BOOM like a nuclear bomb when it hits the pocket! It gets down lane and has a swift 3 board move. On typical house shots I'm forced to go 4 boards deeper than I'm used to, but once I do, this ball rolls smoothly then yanks right (I'm a South Paw, get it "yanks...right."? HA)where it needs to hit to start the party in the pit! Everything goes down, I mean everything! This was my 1st Columbia ball, the Swerve FX will be the 2nd!

This was my first ball in 16yrs after coming back to bowling(3/09), I hold a 163 avg, lefty, and climbing(now i have 6 balls) with league play. When the lanes break down after the first two games its the perfect BMD(Ball for Mass Destruction! I had to slow my speed from 18mph(hated it then wasn't breaking into a roll) to 14mph(increased my rev rate also)and learn how to read the lane. The Sting is the first to crawl out of my bag, but the Venom is the one when the lanes get to medium to dry. The out the box finish is perfect(as far as my knowledge and skill go) and i had it drilled to go long and break sharp into the pocket releasing it in between the 5Th and 10Th board.

Being a southpaw, I never thought I would need a Medium-Dry ball in my arsenal. My side doesn't get burnt up in league play, and I can stay on the same line all night with the right piece matched up with the lane. After league pot bowling, practice behind recreational bowlers or when a house has a faulty oil machine, is when I realized needed a piece for Med-dry. Let me tell you my friends, on dry lanes, this ball is stronger than your heavy oil and med-heavy oil balls! The Wrecker is like the Russian Rocky fought "Whatever he hits, he destroys"! On top of that, this is my first Roto-Grip ball. Smooth in the front through the mid-lane, and yanks at a hard angle off the spot. It's so smooth I didn't think it was going to make a move then it turned and shredded the rack, then sat in the pit right of the head and pin! Consider me a customer, I might have to get a little..Sinister with it!?

Not what I expected from what I read about how the ball should perform. I'm not a perfect bowler, 168 league avg and was looking for it to cut through heavy oil more than my other balls, and it seems to be the weakest. I had it the oin placed under my ring finger slightly off to the left, the PAP is 5" left of my thumb hole and surface down to 500! It still skids(@14mph)starts to roll down much longer than it should, I hate to but re-drilling is what I may do.

What a difference a day makes! I really was'nt happy in my earlier post about the Invasion, but I was determined to like this ball! Good news, no re-drilling needed once I learned how to throw this MONSTER down the lane. My mistake was expecting the same reaction I was getting from another ball in my arsenal that was drilled the same way(rolling it from the same mark),it's not as aggresive as that piece but aggresive in it's own right! At one point it was hooking too much and once I made a minor adjustment..BOOM!MUNSON-lol-STYLE BABY! Nothing below 190 the highest being 260! Storm, I was wrong, this ball rocks, it's the first out of my bag then I hit 'em with the Second Dimension.
