Just bought this on the Black Friday MEGA DEAL for $94.99...and it's worth all that and much more!!!

First time throwing ball on a burned up THS, I moved between 4th and 5th arrow (which is not my "A" game AT ALL) and tossed a 277. I was amazed how clean this dull (4000 grit) got through burned up heads and projected out to the breakpoint. Once it read the breakpoint, the Alpha-Max had a TON of energy left to come back and hit the pocket with authority!

Moved to a different pair that had oil and stayed left of the track-line and saw how well this ball handles the oil. I look forward to seeing how this will handle tournament oil - I threw it side-by-side with a Storm Marvel - and while the Marvel would start earlier, the Alpha-Max hit with the same authority even though it was coming back to the pocket from a angle further right. Also threw it side-by-side with a Columbia Wicked Encounter and found it a full 2 boards stronger.

Outstanding ball - and might be the best buy on bowlingball.com for an asymmetrical solid for the money. Highly recommended!!!

Drilled with pin just above ring finger and weight hole in P2 spot. Changed surface to 2000-grit.

I was pleasantly surprised how well this ball got through the front and mid-lane. Even with the pin-up drilling, I was expecting an earlier reaction. But this ball was cleaner through the heads than I expected - particularly on a THS - and did not overreact when hitting the dry on the outside.

Haven't had the chance to throw on a tournament shot yet, but I'm guessing adjusting the surface to 1000 or 1500 will permit this to be the "go-to" ball for fresh on longer patterns. Best Brunswick ball I've thrown to date.

This is the first non-Storm/Roto ball I have rolled in the past 2 years, and I am glad I gave this ball a chance.

This ball rolls well on long and heavy oil patterns. The best part of this ball for me is the strongest mid-lane move I have ever seen in a bowling ball. You can literally see the ball rev up in the mid lane prior to making a strong move in the backend and hitting like a freight train. Strong yet predictable movements...quickly becoming my favorite tournament ball.

Highly recommend this ball for medium to heavy sport patterns. Probably too strong for THS unless you have a lot of ball speed or really low rev rate.

This ball is incredible!!! I have used this ball on THS and on Scorpion. I could not use it as 1st ball out of bag on Scorpion, but once the oil went through 1st transition, I switched to the Wicked Encounter and it clobbered the pins! It has enough grab to control the heads/midlane while storing plenty of energy to provide some pop on the back end. Very controllable combination of arc and angular.

First time using on THS for all 3 games, threw 24 of 32 strikes...and 6 of the 8 misses were "bad shots" - so it carried 24 of 26 pocket hits! I am impressed and the Wicked Encounter will be 1st ball out of bag in league and a valuable commodity for tournaments to come.

The only lane condition I could find for this ball was a THS where I could throw straight up the boards on the outside. If I used it there and put plenty of hand in my shot, I had something that read the breakpoint well and hit strong. However, if I didn't "hit" the ball, it would sometimes roll as straight as my Vis-a-Ball. It was incosistent and has been permanently placed on the shelf.

I have a BWP and Reign that are much better pearlized balls that this waste of money.

Just got my Bandit last week. My goal was to find a ball that had the same or similar ball movement as the Storm Reign. Ball is drilled with pin up and just right of ring finger.

Personally, I think the "perfect scale" score of 169 is a bit low. The Bandit has A LOT of back end - particularly playing from the outside. As you may have read in several other reviews, the ball has great recovery from the outside and has some pretty good hold if you miss into the oil.

I believe the ball loses some hitting power when trying to cross a lot of boards from left to right - it will get to the pocket, but doesn't have the same energy driving through the pins as playing from the outside. Perhaps this is why there was a lower "perfect scale" score.

Every ball has its purpose - and the BANDIT serves its purpose VERY well.

I had stayed away from Roto Grip balls for a while because the last two I had purchased (Mutant Cell, Mutant Pearl( performed great out of the box, but faded fast after about 50 or so tournament games.

Had this drilled with pin above ring finger and mass-bias slightly kicked right of thumb hole. Used it for the first time over the weekend in a tournament on Shark - and the ball makes a strong yet predictable response. It handled the midlane well and had plenty of energy left to beat up the pins in the backend.

I hope this ball doesn't fade fast like the others...if it continues to roll like this, though...I'll be singing it's praises for a while! Good job, Roto...

Threw this ball at a demo recently. Ball was drilled with pin above ring finger and kicked slightly right.

Throwing on a THS, the ball got through the heads clean - even after they had burned up a bit. The color scheme of the ball makes it very easy to read on the lanes. You could see this ball revving up in the mid-lane to make it's move in the backend - and the backend strength did not disappoint.

Comparing it to my Columbia Wicked Encounter (a similar strength hybrid, although dull not polished), it has a very similar look through the heads and mid-lane. However, I believe the Defiant Soul had a more profound move in the backend. Also, the DS could be taken deeper left and still react off the spot at the end of the pattern better than the WE.

OVERALL - if your arsenal is in need of a strong hybrid and you miss the strength of the Storm Virtual Energy, the Defiant Soul may be the closest ball I've seen that compares. It is a "must have" for your arsenal.

This is another one from Roto Grip where the ball plays stronger than the specs. Mine is drilled with the pin up and kicked right of the ring finger. Playing on shorter tournament patterns (Viper, Cheetah, Wolf) as well as on THS after the fresh burns up, the Rumble gets down the lane and FLIPS HARD.

If you're a tournament bowler or you're looking for a ball that will get down the lane without sacrificing power on drier conditions, the Rumble is a good ball to have in your bag.

Had my Wrecker drilled pin-down for an earlier, more controlled roll. On a THS where the heads had been worn, for a medium strength ball (OOB finish), I was surprised how strong this ball rolled on the front of the lane...but even though it was not quite as clean through the front as I was expecting, this ball did a great job setting up on the mid-lane and was very continous on the backend through the pins.

With the heads fairly burned up, I was leaving a number of flat-10's. However, with a little bit of loft, the ball rolled through the pins and showed a high carry percentage.

Overall, I was very pleased with the performance of this ball. Like I said, I was expecting the nice angle on the backend, but was quite surprised by the strength on the front. This will permit me to get a bit deeper inside on the front part of the lane - which for this ball is going to be a VERY good thing on tournament shots.

This is my favorite Storm asymmetrical release in a long time. As with the majority of my asymmetrical balls, I had this drilled pin down with the CG kicked right.

The Byte (for me) is a strong ball that I can use on pattern where there's oil. The finish is more of a strong arc than a snap, but my favorite part is HOW it hits - keeping the pins low and creating awesome pin action.

Bowled a 300/777 in a 2nd shift league on wooden lanes - found enough oil to keep it in line and it did the job admirably. I found the Byte to have a better back-end reaction than the Sync and more playable and controllable than the Lucid.

If you're looking for controlled power, the Byte may be your go-to ball.

I bought this ball with the intent of having something versatile for both league and short-mid tournament patters. Ball was drilled with my favorite layout with the pin above ring finger.

I absolutely LOVE this ball! This ball easily gets through the heads with the polished coverstock, but then makes an abrupt left hand turn at the point of friction and absolutely rips the rack. Ball shows great recovery skills to the outside - and so far I have been able to use it in any part of the lane.

I am really excited about this ball and the potential I see in it for tournament play. If this ball is not in your arsenal, you're making a big mistake!!!

The Hyroad Pearl is actually stronger than expected. Drilled pin-down with the CG in the palm and a weight hole. Need to keep the surface fresh to keep from grabbing too early. Compared to the Wrecker, the Hyroad Pearl is a strong continuous arc and doesn't snap like the Wrecker - but BOY DOES IT FINISH!

This ball will be good on THS that permits you to get the ball right and mid-tournament when you're moving left and chasing the pattern. I may consider getting another one and drilling pin up for more regular use. Excellent ball!

Ball drilled pin up, slightly right of ring finger (RH). This ball rolls brilliantly! Used it on a short pattern (35') and was shocked how well it got through the heads and waited to the end of the pattern to make a move - and boy did it move! It reads the full lane about as well as any ball I have ever thrown. Whether I kept my hand behind the ball or gave it some side rotation...the IQ Tour stayed on target and took care of business once it reached the pins.

This ball will see A LOT of action on THS and shorter patterns. I don't know how well it handles longer/higher volume, but I look forward to finding out!!!

The Storm IQ Tour Fusion really is the best of both worlds! I've had mine for a few weeks now. Drilled pin-up with the CG kicked right and a weight hole at P2, I've had the opportunity to throw this on a variety of lane patterns and surfaces.

For me, my IQ Tour (drilled similar, but without weight hole) does not do well crossing boards - it does better when I can get it down the lane. My IQ Tour Pearl did not always react to friction as I would have liked - it could squirt through the breakpoint and suffer from over/under.

However, the IQ Tour Fusion holds the line when I throw down the boards AND is able to turn the corner when I move left. It really is the most versatile ball I've thrown in quite some time. I'd love to get a second one to drill pin-down for a heavier forward roll.

The IQ Tour Fusion is a "must have" for ALL bowlers - great reaction on THS and extremely versatile for tournament bowlers.

I was absolutely amazed at the strength of this ball! Threw it at a demo recently and immediately made a purchase at the pro shop so I can add it to my arsenal.

The demo ball was drilled with the pin just above and to the right of the ring finger and probably had more than a few games on it. Playing the track line on a relatively fresh THS, this ball was clean and smooth, but the roll it would get into in the backend was VERY strong and very continuous through the pins.

My ball was drilled with the pin about 5/8" above the ring finger. The surface was slightly touched up to remove the OOB polish, but keeping the ball polished. I had to move 5 boards left of the track line to find a place to keep this ball on the right side of the head-pin. For a "low-flare" ball, the IQ Tour Pearl covered more boards than anticipated and keep an incredibly strong roll through the backend and through the pins.

BOTTOM LINE: When the IQ TOUR (My go-to league ball) starts burning up and leaving corner pins, I can switch to this ball, move a little left and expect some big scores well into the night. I see this ball having many uses for league and tournament play...can't wait to take it to Nationals!

The Storm Lucid can be a very versatile ball. With the OOB matte finish, it starts earliers than the Anarchy and can work through heavy oil. With polish, the Lucid gets through the heads clean and stores energy well - but it more controlled (less angular) than the Anarchy in the backend, and in my opinion hits better. One of the things I really noticed was how the pins stay low to carry more of those corner pins.

I am looking forward to having this for my 1st or 2nd ball out of the bag for longer/higher volume patterns. Haven't tried this ball in league yet, but I expect it to be more controlled yet stronger than other high performance Storm balls.

I own a Black Widow Pearl, and this ball can be similar in reaction, so I had it drilled with Layout #1 to be a little weaker on the midlane. This ball is very versatile. For me, it goes longer than my BWP and still packs a pretty big punch at the pindeck. It was a great choice for me! Works well on tournament shots where the heads have burned out, and late night league shots. For others, it can be a stronger ball for more "normal" conditions. Like I said, it is very versatile.

WOW! What a good pearlized ball!!! I am using this for drier conditions and playing straight up the boards with a lot of backend. This ball hits a ton and is very predictable.

For the price, I can't imagine buying a better ball for med/dry conditions.

Was able to throw this ball at a demo, then was lucky enough to be able to purchase/drill my own.

During the demo, the pin was just above the ring finger and the ball had some games on it so the surface was pretty shiny. I was amazed how clean the ball was through the heads - for as strong a ball as it was billed to be, it stayed in a skid for a long time. I was a bit underwhelmed with the backend response. HOWEVER, once I hit the ball with some 2000-grit abralon, I took it back out on the lane and was ASTOUNDED with the performance. On a THS, I threw 8 consecutive strikes lining up between 13 and 25 board, moving a couple boards left with each shot.

Got mine drilled up with a 1" pin buffer - so the pin is high above my ring finger. This drilling has been great for me with asymmetrical pearl and hybrid. At the OOB surface, the ball was very clean and very responsive. The color scheme of the ball permits you to really read what the ball is doing down the lane.

BOTTOM LINE - this ball will stay home on a typical league night, but I would anticipate it being the 1st ball out of my bag on most sport shot/tournament patterns. Extremely versatile ball - might be best Storm strong solid since the original VG.

Bought this ball in hopes of getting a strong backend reaction on heavier oil patterns. Unfortunately, I have not found this to be the case.

With the typical factory polished finish, this ball finishes somewhat flat and doesn't make the strong backend move I was looking for. However, I have found it to be a good looking ball on house shots, facing up to the pocket well.

However, when I remove the factory polish and roll the ball at 2000 Abralon, I have been able to use this ball on heavier tournament patterns.

Overall, I like the ball and it has it's place in my arsenal...but I find the Anarchy to be a stronger pearlized ball than the VG Nano Pearl.

I had the Virtual Gravity Nano and was not completely satisfied with it compared to the original. In my opinion, it didn't have the versatility and was often difficult for me to find a pattern - even high volume patterns - that I was pleased with the reaction.

This is NOT the case with the Nano Pearl. This ball has got some juice!!! It does not grab the heads like the regular Nano, but it is still strong driving through the heads. The recovery in the backend is also better than the regular Nano. Most importantly, the Nano Pearl drives through the pins with relentless power.

I like that it is the first pearlized ball that I have been able to be effective with BOTH dull and polished. In fact, I prefer to keep this ball at 2000 abralon dull. (I do recommend completely removing the NIB factory polish before use - even if you put polish right back on it).

This ball will be my "first out" at most tournaments that will give me a good read. I can't see this ball NOT working for any bowler - particularly on tournament patterns.

The Storm Vivid has the same cover as the Virtual Gravity Nano, but has a slightly weaker core...and the result is a better ball!

My Vivid is drilled with the pin just left of the ring finger...I am amazed by the ability of this ball to get clean through the heads. If there is sufficient oil in the mid-lane, the Vivid revs up and comes off the spot with amazing power.

I am unable to use this ball in league - which is fine by me - but what I have seen with this ball in tournament play so far has me sold! First ball out of my bag at tournaments...

THIS BALL IS AWESOME!

Had my Zero Gravity drilled pin-down under ring finger with the CG kicked right and a weight hole at P3. Tried using it on a fresh THS on wood lanes and had to put it away.

However, used it on 40' Athens in a tournament and I was amazed at its ability to turn the corner. As an asymmetrical ball with such a high RG (2.55) and polished coverstock, it does a brilliant job of getting down the lane and storing energy in the back end. I'm a tweener, but I was able to get left of 4th arrow to the breakpoint, and it turned the corner with plenty of hitting power! I'm not usually able to play left of 4th arrown with an asymmetrical ball, but the specs on this ball permit me to do it.

I can't wait to see what this ball will do on the Nationals pattern in March. Get yourself one of these as fast as you possibly can!

This is an excellent medium/medium-heavy lane ball. Ball was drilled with 1" pin buffer from PAP - leaving pin about 1 1/2" above ring finger. With the OOB finish, the ball clears the heads easily and has a distinct move at the breakpoint upon finding friction. However, I find that it does skid a little more through the midlane that I prefer. Lightly buffing the surface with a 2000 abralon pad added just enough friction to grab the midlane well without sacrificing the clean move through the heads.

I found this ball to be very useful on THS, Viper and Chameleon...also had some good looks on longer patterns after the heads had burned up. Definitely does not have a problem storing energy to the pins.

This is my first Track ball...I can't say it won't be my last, but it did leave a good first impression.

The Track Alias has a lot of versatility, not only in the drilling options (symmetrical vs. asymmetrical), but also in the use of the coverstock. This ball definitely likes/needs oil to be the beast it was created to be, but the coverstock takes very well to surface changes and adapts well to polish.

I had 2 drilled up, one symmetrical and one asymmetrical. The asymmetric layout was 70x5x30 on a PAP of 4 ¾” over x 5/8” up. I decided to leave that surface alone OOB and gave it a go on some pretty slick lanes. The coverstock did not grab too soon and the mid-lane/backend was controlled but powerful. I actually saw a greater change of direction with the symmetric layout – which was (-20)x5x30, with the PAP reversed (see drilling instructions and recommend short pin to CG ball for this layout). After throwing this ball a few times, I applied polish to the 2000-grit coverstock – which gave me the cleaner roll through the front that I needed – but was still a monster in the backend. Compared to the Paradox Black, the Alias for me overall is cleaner through the front-end and stores more energy for the back.

If there was any high performance ball that you should really have 2 – THIS IS THE ONE – using each of the layouts to your advantage. This also may be the best high performance ball I have been able to use on a league night in a long time, as I have been using mostly mid-performance in league the past couple years.

The Track Archetype is a big hooking ball and is an excellent alternative to the Track Paragon – depending on the look you need on the lanes.

Where the Paragon for me is early rolling, strong mid-lane and a strong arc down-lane, the new Archetype is much cleaner through the front and seems to store more energy going through the mids. Once it reaches the end of the pattern, it makes a BIG turn off the spot and covers a ton of boards down-lane, without giving away the strength of forward roll.

If you are looking for a big asymmetric solid to play deeper on medium patterns, so need something to play straight on higher volume that you can trust to react to friction down-lane – then I strongly recommend the Track Archetype.

The Track Cyborg is one of the most readable upper-mid performance balls I have thrown to date. I have read this ball to be advertised as a “baby paradox” – and I would agree!

We drilled my Cyborg with the pin up and above my middle finger with the CG in my palm aligned with the ring finger and the MB just right of my thumb. What I was expecting was a ball that would store energy through the heads and have a strong snap in the back end. What I wound up with is was a strong mid-lane roll and a more continuous, arcing motion in the back. To me, it rolls VERY similar to my Paradox – but cleaner through the heads. I could easily see using this ball on 39-45’ patterns either on fresh oil or as a transition ball if I wanted to play a similar part of the lane as the Paradox when the Paradox is rolling too early.

I believe this is an ideal ball for the upcoming fall league season on THS, and will be an asset in my tournament bag on PBA Viper and Chameleon patterns. We waited a while for a new Track release…and this was definitely worth the wait!!!

The Track Cyborg Pearl is an excellent complement to the original Cyborg. It is definitely cleaner through the front part of the lane, storing more energy to create a more angular back end. I have found good use for this ball as the 2nd ball out of the bag during league as well as on medium-length sport shots.

My Cyborg Pearl is drilled with the pin above the bridge and the CG kicked right. Personally, I found the out-of-box polish a little too long for my taste, so I have my surface set at 4000-grit and no polish. With the pearl cover, this keeps the ball clean through the front but gives me a little more teeth in the mid-lane to make the back end motion I am looking for. Compared to the original Cyborg, I am going to play 2-3 boards further right on a THS with more miss room/recovery to the right because of the ability to get angular.

The Cyborg is one of my all-time favorite balls – and the Cyborg Pearl complements the Cyborg well. If you bowl on a higher friction house for league or competing on 39-43’ sport patterns, I think you will be very happy with the performance of this ball.

The Track Heat is a medium to light oil ball that has a very nice motor when it finds friction. My Heat is drilled using a 2 ½” pin to CG, the pin placement is immediately right of my ring finger and the CG is stacked directly underneath with no weight hole.

For me, this drilling permits a stronger mid-lane motion than my Track MX05 or Tour X – the comparable symmetrical pearls in the TRACK line – without sacrificing the strong flip and heavy roll through the pins that I look for when transition hits. On a higher friction THS, I am able to use the Heat on the fresh but normally wait for some transition/additional friction before pulling it out of the bag. I have chosen to remove the out-of-box polish finish and have replaced it with a machined 4000-grit finish.

I highly recommend this ball for any lane condition that has friction in the mid-lane and/or back end. You will absolutely love the way this ball rolls heavily through the pins and the predictability of the lane motion – even on higher friction. It is earlier and stronger rolling than both the MX05 and Tour X – so it will compliment those balls in your arsenal very well!

The Track Heat is a smooth, predictable and has been brilliant for me. 300/824 on a house shot with a high friction surface that I had previously struggled.

My Heat was laid out without angles this time, with the pin down under the bridge – and the CG kicked ½” to the right. The result is a solid reactive that gets through the heads cleanly, manages the mid lane and rolls through the pins with mass destruction. It is a great compliment to the Power Torq (which is stronger) and the Legion Pearl (which is cleaner and more angular).

My best league ball over the past 5 years was the Track Heat Xtreme – this cover may not be quite as strong – but is right up there, and it is highly recommended. I am going to drill a 2nd Heat pin-up for tournament patterns.

The Track Lava Heat is a ball motion I was missing in my bag, and I think is going to get a lot of play on a variety of patterns.

The Lava Heat is the perfect marriage, combining the QR-7 pearl coverstock used in the Cyborg Pearl with the Heat core.
This creates a ball motion that is not as angular as something like the Cyborg Pearl, but has more teeth than any of the polished balls in the Heat series (Heat, Ultra Heat). For me, I see a motion that is going to be valuable on house shots and sport shots in the 36-40’ range or in transition.

The Heat Xtreme is one of my ATF balls, and I have a feeling that the Lava Heat is going to follow right alongside.

The Track Heat-Xtreme has a very strong solid coverstock wrapped around the Heat core, which if you have ever thrown the Heat – you know that core creates a great “motor” to generate a very strong motion. I got to speak to Jason Couch prior to drilling up my Heat X-Treme, and he told me that I should expect the coverstock to react like a “high-performance” ball – and he was right!

I drilled my Heat-Xtreme with a similar layout to my Columbia Raw Urge, with the pin about 2” below my ring finger and the CG kicked right with a weight hole. The strong solid coverstock on this ball is clean enough to get through the heads, yet is able to get the ball into an earlier roll in the mid lane than any other mid-performance ball I’ve ever thrown. The back end motion is strong and continuous as you would expect from a ball with the Heat core. What you wind up with is a ball that you can pull out for both fresh heavy oil AND early transition to get your ball to respond on tricky mid-lanes when other balls may be too weak or too strong and give you that over/under reaction.

If you want a “high performance” ball at a mid-performance price point that you can lay out to get the ball motion you need – this is YOUR ball. I will be using mine when I need to open up lanes that are tight and tricky and will come into play on many sport patterns as well as 1st transition for my THS fall leagues.

The Track HX16 is a thing of beauty to behold through the pins. It is an awesome combination of strength and length. The hybrid coverstock comes polished but also responds well with surface changes. The coverstock itself is not particularly strong…but that’s the beauty of this ball! Because of that, it is very clean through the front of the lane and through the mid-lane. That’s where the strong core takes over and creates and incredible roll THROUGH the pins. With surface, I have had success on very long patterns – and with polish, creating a great skid/flip motion on house patterns and not responding too quickly to friction on medium length patterns.

If I could only pick one ball from the current Track line to be able to throw on ALL pattern lengths and volumes – I think it would be the HX16. This is a really good ball!!!

The Track In2ition has a powerful mid lane motion and perhaps the strongest continuation of any high performance of any EBI ball I have thrown.

The mid lane motion is reminiscent of the Paradox series – very strong and defined. However, the continuation through the pins seems like there is a motor inside this ball. The In2ition just keeps going and going…on a house shot – even with a layout to get the ball to stand up more – I had to give the ball enough room so that I wouldn’t leave solid 9-pins because the ball just goes through the pins so strong.

I look forward to getting the In2ition on a sport shot to see how it handles a flatter pattern. However, the Track In2ition is expected to be a fine addition to my tournament bag.

The Track Kinetic Amethyst is the pearl version in the Kinetic series. It is most definitely the cleanest through the front part of the lane of the 3 balls in the series and is more controllable in the back end.

My ball was drilled with the pin about 3” from my PAP (4 ¾” over X 5/8” up), and there is 1 ½ oz. of side weight with no weight hole (which will be a legal drilling as of 8/1/18). Both the Kinetic Ruby and Emerald had a strong mid-lane move and generated a strong backend motion. The Amethyst appears to be much more controlled arc motion in the backend, storing a lot of energy to get through the pins. With this drilling, I believe the Amethyst will be an excellent league ball and will work well on medium length and lighter volume patterns or during lane transition. I wish I would have had this ball in time for USBC Nationals team pattern!

The Kinetic series has been wonderful for me, and the Amethyst definitely appears to be another winner for Track.
For the upcoming league season and for those more challenging sport shots, the Kinetic Amethyst will not disappoint.

The Track Kinetic Black Ice is another pearl ball in the Kinetic line but does not roll like the Kinetic Platinum at all. In my opinion, I would compare the ball roll more to my favorite ball in the Kinetic line, the Emerald.

Mine was drilled 70x3.75x20, which is intended to maximize the skid-flip intention of the ball. However, in side-by-side comparison to the Black Widow Ghost, I found the Black Ice to pick up much earlier in the mid-lane with the OOB finish, and yet not sacrifice the backend motion I was looking for.

There’s been a lot of buzz about this ball – and I foresee it doing very well for house shots and on medium sport patterns where you want something polished with a bit more grab in the mids. I highly recommend the Black Ice for your league & tournament bags.

The Track Kinetic Cobalt has a lot of shape, and is an excellent addition to the Kinetic line.

I feel like the Cobalt is different from the other Kinetics I’ve thrown because it is a hybrid cover (like the Kinetic Emerald), but does not come polished or with compound. The 500/1500/4000 surface does permit the ball to be pretty clean through the front of the lane – and I have also changed surface to 1500 to get it to pick up earlier in the mids, which can come in handy on fresh oil, if that’s your desire. The shape is classic Kinetic – strong flip off the mids through the back of the pin deck.

The Kinetic Cobalt is capable of being a very versatile ball for many situations. High recommendation for this one, and should be in my bag for a while.

The Track Kinetic Emerald has a TON of backend motion! The polished hybrid coverstock combined with the modified Kinetic core creates a powerful ball reaction that will be hard to beat at the mid-performance level.

My Kinetic Emerald has one of my favorite layouts – the pin is about 1” below my ring finger with the CG kicked right and a fairly big weight hole. On a THS with friction, this layout/coverstock combination permits me to play closer to the friction/track and stores a tremendous amount of energy to go through the pins with a big punch. I plan on drilling a 2nd one with a neutral pin-up layout that will permit to play a big hook in transition. Even with this very pin-down layout, this ball has great continuation while crossing several more boards than my other balls with the same layout.

Either with or without the OOB polish, the Kinetic Emerald is going to become a tremendous bench mark ball and greatly utilized on medium length patterns and/or in transition with the right layout.

Track keeps hitting home runs with each new release in 2019, and the Kinetic Obsidian is no exception. I have absolutely fallen in love with the ball motion of this ball!!!

The Kinetic series in general, has given me great mid-lane strength for the mid performance price point, which really helps me to get my ball into a roll sooner. However, the Obsidian coverstock seems to resemble the Paradox Red coverstock – that it is getting through the mid-lane cleaner than other balls in its series – and is very angular in the backend. Compared to the Triton Elite, the Obsidian will provide more backend motion…and it without question, a great replacement for the Kinetic Ruby.

Whether on THS or a medium sport shot, the Kinetic Obsidian is going to get you a great motion to and through the pins. With balls like all these that have come out this year, I am so proud to represent this brand!

The Track Kinetic Platinum carries on the great tradition of the Kinetic line and is going to be a great ball in your bag for both league and sport patterns.

Mine is drilled 55x3.75x25 and provides a really nice skid/flip motion. So far, I’ve been able to use this on a 40’ sport pattern and two different house shots. The Kinetic Platinum provides the kind of motion you need when the lanes start to get beat up in the fronts. In a side-by-side comparison with the Kinetic Amethyst and Emeralds, the Platinum is definitely a bigger motion than the Amethyst – both earlier and stronger in the backend. It compares well with the Emerald, but maybe not quite as strong in the backend – so it’s a really good in-between skid/flip motion.

If skip/flip is what you need from your ball motion, and the lanes are transitioning away from your Black Widow 2.0 or another solid/hybrid cover, the Kinetic Platinum is going to be a really good friend to you on the lanes!

The Track Kinetic Ruby is a remarkable bowling ball – I have already drilled 2 of these with very different layouts – and I can already tell this is going to become one of my all-time favorites. The Ruby is exactly what you would expect if you have the Kinetic Emerald – a solid coverstock that permits earlier hook in the mid-lane, but still has a really strong backend motion.

I chose a Ruby with a 4-5” pin to drill my pin-up ball – which places the pin over 1” above my ring finger. This layout permits me to use this ball in similar situations that I like to use the Emerald – but when there is more oil downlane. My other Ruby is a 2-3” pin and the pin is placed almost 1” below the ring finger – and rivals my Cyborg for midlane strength – but with a bigger backend motion than my Cyborg.

For a mid-performance ball, I do not think you will find a better value than the Kinetic series – and the Kinetic Ruby is going to be the 1st ball out of my bag on league nights and on many sport shots. This ball needs to be in your bag, if not 2 of them!!!

Coming from the Brunswick factory, the Track Latitude is labeled a benchmark ball and a ball designed to most closely resemble the Track Triton Elite. Those looking for a benchmark solid, I don’t believe you’re going to be disappointed with the performance of this ball.

Mine was laid out 90x2x45. We decided on the shorter pin layout because the Triton Elite (70x3.75x20) is still very much a part of my arsenal. The shorter pin permits me to navigate the wet/dry I can find on many THS and some sport shots. The coverstock is definitely stronger/earlier in comparison to the Triton Elite – and the cover/core combination – I believe creates a bigger overall motion. Even with the short pin layout, I am not lacking backend motion with this ball.

I would recommend your favorite layout on this ball – and for most patterns – the Latitude could be the first ball out of your bag to benchmark the lane conditions for you.

The Track Latitude Pearl may get lost in the shuffle with all the new releases coming out, but don’t let this one fall through the cracks. This is definitely a ball worth having.

Mine was drilled 110x3x35. The OOB 500/1000 compound permits this ball to read earlier than normal polished equipment. Between the layout and cover, I have not had much success covering a lot of boards – but the Latitude Pearl does a great job of managing oil and making a move at the end of the pattern into a strong continuous roll.

I recommend the Latitude Pearl for league nights, and for those medium length sport shots with volume. If you need a ball that doesn’t have a solid cover, but won’t get lost in the oil, the Latitude Pearl may surprise you.

The Track Legion is a very good benchmark ball. I would highly recommend this ball for the league season and for medium sport patterns. The coverstock is the same as the Track MX10 – but with a different core. My experience with the MX10 was that I could use it well in its polished condition and could expect a skip-flid type motion that worked well for me after the lanes had transitioned.

My Legion is drilled with the pin down below the middle finger; the CG is 3” from the pin and lands just right of my thumb. The MB is about 1 ½” below the right corner of my thumb hole, and a weight hole is used around P2. With the out of box surface, I found I was using this ball similar to my MX10 with the ball rolling a bit sooner in the mid-lane and a more continuous motion in the back end. However, when I took the polish off and applied a 2000-grit, I found a more pleasing motion in oil where I could expect a predictable move both through the mid-lane and through the pins. The predictability of the roll without the polish has made this a good benchmark ball on league night to read the lane.

If you are looking for a medium strength ball with a predictable back end and plenty of punch, get yourself a Track Legion in time for the fall season.

The Track Legion Pearl has been a very good ball for me so far. Much better than the original that came out several years ago.

Mine was drilled with my favorite layout (70x3.75.20), and after I scuffed the out of box polish with a 3000 pad, I got a ball that is very readable in the mid lane and a strong but predictable motion on the backend and through the pins. In the early part of the fall season, The Legion Pearl has been my go-to ball for league.

I highly recommend the Legion Pearl for your league nights and is a more than capable option on medium sport patterns as well. I will be highly anticipating a solid version as well.

The Track Legion Solid has the same name as an excellent ball from several years ago but make no mistake – this is NOT the same ball! It has more overall motion and is a very versatile solid ball.

The original Legion Solid was a very smooth ball that very much came in handy on more difficult conditions. In the Track line, compared to the new Stealth, I believe the Legion Solid is cleaner and provides more backend motion than the Stealth. Where my Stealth is a “house shot killer” and is super continuous, for me the Legion Solid is more versatile in its lane play. In fact, the ball I would compare it most to would be the DV8 Damn Good Verge.

If you’re in need of versatility on both THS and sport, I would highly recommend the new Track Legion Solid.

The Track Legion Solid is an amazing combination of smooth and strength. Taking the Tour SIC coverstock and combining it with the asymmetrical core of the original Legion, for me it is a lethal combination.

I drilled my 1st one with the pin up above the bridge, the CG kicked right about 2” and the mass bias is in the thumb hole. The out of box coverstock is at 2000 grit – but it is a very clean finish. I found that with this drilling, the ball gets through the front part of the lane very clean – even on a short pattern – and reads the end of the pattern very well. At the pins, the entry angle is not too angular and packs a heavy rolling wallop.

My other Legion Solid has a 2” pin placed below the bridge and the mass bias is kicked right. This layout made the reaction much stronger and gave me a fantastic look on longer and higher volume.

Mitch Beasley says to think of this ball like a “Baby Paradox” – a ball that you can switch to when the Paradox is too much ball and you need something to start your transition play. I would tend to agree. For me, this is going to be my benchmark ball and I would recommend it highly!

The Track Logix is a marriage between the Cyborg Pearl coverstock and the Legion Solid core. My expectation was a strong mid-lane reaction but a mellow backend motion due to the predictability of the Legion Solid. What I wound up with is a surprisingly strong backend motion – and a very versatile ball.

I have drilled up 2 already – the 1st one is 70x4½x30 – which put the MB just left of my thumb hole. On a THS, this ball was very angular going from the puddle to the dry and back. On PBA Viper, this layout was less angular but very continuous. The other was drilled 0x5½x30 – which put the MB well right of the thumb hole. This layout created a very early/strong mid-lane roll and a very defined movement to the pocket – which was stronger on the sport shot than the THS.

Track is advertising the Logix as a benchmark ball, and the versatility this cover/core combo provides will create a lot of different looks depending on the layout and what you’re looking for. I highly recommend you drill one up for the fall league season – and a 2nd for tournament play!

The Track LX10 is one of my favorite balls. The coverstock is very strong – but the out of box 3000 grit keeps the ball from grabbing too early on the front end. The cover strength seems to take charge in the mid-lane, where it is needed the most. The pin-up ball makes a very quick, defined move towards the pocket while the pin-down version provides a slower flip and a more continuous roll through the back end. The pin-up has been fantastic on league and shorter sport shots…while I prefer a little more surface on the pin-down and use it on longer sport patterns.

Either way, you can see that I believe the Track LX10 can be very versatile…it just depends on what you’re looking for and how you want to drill it up. Don’t hesitate getting this ball for your arsenal.

The Track Mako has to be the strongest Track ball I have thrown to date. It appears to be amazingly clean through the front part of the lane for a solid coverstock – which, of course, permits this ball to store more energy and provide a larger back end reaction and more continuation than any other high performance Track ball.

My Mako is drilled with the pin down directly below the ring finger with the CG kicked slightly right and the weight hole at about 2 o’clock of the MB. This layout permits me to keep the breakpoint a bit closer to me – but it is still a pretty strong backend motion. The Mako will be the 1st ball out of my bag for anything 43’ in length or more and I would anticipate a lot of tournament use. I don’t bowl on a THS that has enough oil for this layout/coverstock combination – but I could see this ball working very well for high speed/high rev bowlers where the THS has a lot of oil/lower friction.

The Track Mako Attack stores energy well through the heads for a high-performance ball and makes a strong, continuous motion through the pins. It is a perfect marriage of coverstock and core. The Paradox Trilogy QR-10 Hybrid cover is on this ball – is a very clean coverstock that wants to hook. With the Paradox core, the Trilogy looked great rolling on the lane – but for me – did not go through the pins as well as I hoped. However, with the Mako core, the same coverstock rolls clean, and explodes through the pins with a strong continuation.

The Mako Attack is going to be a great ball for both league and sport shots, particularly on things like PBA Chameleon.

The Track MX05 is a good transition ball. I have both pin-up and pin-down drillings on this ball – and I have not had a ton of personal success with this ball on fresh patterns (although I know others have). Sometimes balls can be limited by the physical abilities of the bowler (ha-ha). However, when the head oil dissipates, I have been able to successfully use the pin-down ball on medium sport patterns…while the pin-up MX05 gives me outstanding length – and because of the lower RG – a very controlled backend reaction without losing punch.

I would not recommend this ball – either with polish or with surface – for fresh oiled patterns unless you already have a lot of revs. However, if you are in need of an outstanding transition ball for the 2nd half of a tournament block or the later part of league night to get down the lane and not overreact in the backend…the MX05 would be near the top of my list.

The Track Paradox is flat out one of the best balls I have ever thrown. The ball is marketed as being a strong rolling ball in the front of the lane, the mid-lane and the back end…and it is 100% accurate!
My Paradox is drilled with the pin above the bridge, the CG is about 4” below the pin and the MB about 1” right of my thumb. The ball does not do a lot of skidding through the front of the lane, picking up a roll pretty quickly. It reads the mid-lane EXTREMELY well, transitioning strongly into an incredible roll to and through the pins.

The coverstock ABSOLUTELY needs oil – so I would recommend this for house shots and longer sport patterns. I am planning on smoothing out the 3000-grit surface to see if I can have a bit more control on medium patterns.

The last time I saw a ball roll like this was with my ORIGINAL Virtual Gravity back in 2010-11. Thus, I highly recommend this ball to anyone interested in having that type of ball in your arsenal - and I would think that would be just about everyone…

The Track Paradox is flat out one of the best balls I have ever thrown!!!

That is how I started my review when original Paradox came out in 2015. The Paradox Black is no different.

I drilled mine up with the pin above and right of the ring finger (25x3 7/8”x35) and worked it on WTBA 43’ Tokyo pattern. I am amazed whenever I see the mid-lane strength and the strongest arcing motion I’ve ever seen in a bowling ball (as opposed to the skid/flip sudden change of direction). I expect to be able to use this ball to my advantage on any pattern 43’ or longer. NOTE: This ball with this layout was “too much ball” for me on a THS – but a different layout to tame the mid-lane strength would make this an excellent choice on the “puddle in the middle” for league nights.

If you are a serious tournament bowler – especially if you loved your original Paradox (which you have probably worn out by now) – you really NEED the Paradox Black in your bag.

The Track Paradox Pearl is EXACTLY what you would expect – a ball that gets through the fronts cleaner than its predecessor – but has the same explosive roll through the pins.

The one I drilled up has a 2 ½” pin to CG with the pin placement up and just right of the ring finger. A small weight hole was needed. The original Paradox was advertised as being a strong ball on ALL parts of the lane – front, mid-lane and back-end. On a fresh 42’ modified house shot, I watched this ball sail clean through the front of the lane…so this ball definitely DOES NOT pick up as early as the original. However, the mid-lane roll and back-end motion are remarkably similar to the Paradox. Compared to my Red Legend Pearl, this ball is less skid-flip and much more explosive through the pins. The back-end motion is a high-powered arcing motion. The pearl coverstock is not a high-gloss finish and appears to be adaptable to surface changes, which will make this ball very versatile depending on your drilling.

Bottom Line: If you love your Paradox, then you’re really going to love the Paradox Pearl! For tournament play, it could keep you in the same part of the lane after the Paradox is playing too strong – or this could be your go-to ball for those tough medium-long patterns. Either way, this is a must-have ball for my tournament bag.

The Track Paradox Red is a surprising high performance ball and unlike anything I’ve thrown in the Paradox series.

This is the first solid coverstock used in the Paradox series. You’d think that since both the Blue and Black Paradox were hybrids and are so incredibly strong, that would mean that the Red as a solid would have even that much more grab. However, this is not the case. This solid coverstock is very clean and is not as mid-lane dominant as the Blue and Black. Because of the extra storage of energy, this makes the Red more angular. I found in side-by-side comparisons with the Triton Elite, Ebonite Futura and Columbia Savage that the Paradox Red is the cleanest and most angular of the bunch.

I think this is going to be a fantastic ball on house shots and may be more useful on shorter patterns than other similar high end balls. I am looking forward to putting up some good results with this ball!

The Track Paradox Trilogy is unlike any of the other Paradox balls – it is cleaner and more angular in the backend – without sacrificing any of the hitting power of the other two. It is the first ball out of my bag for league and one of the first out of the bag for any sport shot 40’ or longer.

I have drilled up two of these so far – the first one has the pin above my middle finger with the CG and MB kicked right. This layout creates an incredible motion that I do not get from any other high performance ball in my EBI arsenal. It is capable of getting clean through the front of the lanes as much as something like a Red Legend Pearl – but instead of a skid/flip motion – it is a powerful arc motion that is so continuous through the pins! If there is something between “strong arc” and “flip” – that is how I would describe the back-end motion. Even with the out-of-box polish, this ball works very well on long patterns as well.

The other ball is drilled with the pin about 2” from my axis (PAP 4 5/8 over, ¾ up), which required a big weight hole about 1” right of the CG. This layout creates even more energy through the front, permitting me to use this ball on something like PBA Viper. I haven’t tried it yet on Cheetah, but I’ll be anxious to see what it could do. NOTE: One of the best parts of this new Paradox Trilogy is the out-of-box polish that EBI now puts on their balls. It is the best OOB polished cover I have ever thrown (starting with the Hammer Rebel).

If you have not thrown Track in a while – this is the ball to introduce yourself to. The versatility of the cover/core combination is going to make this ball very useable on multiple patterns – and awesome on a fresh house-shot.

The Track Paradox V is a stark contrast to the Paradox Pearl. Even though they are both pearls, the Paradox V definitely has a different feel.

The Paradox Pearl had the same tendencies as the Paradox (or Paradox Black), where even though it was a pearl coverstock, it had a strong mid-lane motion and very strong through the pins. Many people liked the Paradox Pearl because – at least for me – it did not roll so much like a typical pearl HP ball.

However, the Paradox V is exceptionally clean through the front part of the lane and stores more energy, giving you a bigger move in the backend. Although it is not a pure skid-flip, it is more akin to the Paradox Trilogy or Mako Attack. My current ball has a short pin-to-CG (about 1 ½”), so I am going to drill another one with a more conventional layout so I get the better opportunity to take advantage of the versatility.

I believe you are going to find that the Paradox V may be used on a wider variety of shots than the other earlier/stronger Paradox balls, because of how clean it is through the front part of the lane. I think you’re going to like this ball!

The Track Paragon is as advertised – a continuation of the Paradox legacy. Overall, a VERY strong ball!

My Paragon was drilled 70x3.75x20, which was intended to maximize the backend reaction. What I got was a high-end ball that needs a lot of oil to maximize its ability. The layout probably took a little away from the mid-lane strength, but it still transitions pretty hard in the mids. Heavy roll in the backend and great continuation, as expected.

For league, I think I would have to bring the surface up to 3000 or 4000, as it simply wants to hook. However, for sport patterns, the Paragon is going to be the 1st ball out of my bag for volume and longer patterns.

The Track Paragon Hybrid is a fantastic
rolling asymmetric ball that perfectly compliments the Paragon solid.
Mine is drilled 65x4x65, which put the pin down below my ring finger. This layout gives me a excellent arc-motion that reads the lane great, but still packs a powerful punch through the pins. I’ve used this for both house and spot patterns, and the ball is quite continuous on everywhere I’ve thrown it. A pin up layout would likely increase its backend motion playing the middle of the lane, and likely stronger than any
other ball of this type to date I’ve used.
The Track Paragon Hybrid has proven already to be quite versatile and will be in my bag for both house as well as most sport patterns.

The Track Paragon Pearl is an excellent complement to the Paragon solid and the Archetype, when you need to get the ball further down the lane with some pop.

This ball got the HK22 treatment in this coverstock, so this will provide the quickest response of any ball in the Paradox/Paragon lines. Having this ball in my arsenal – because I feel the Archetype is so clean/responsive – will permit me to more versatility/options on how to surface these balls for sport patterns. I haven’t tried changing up the OOB cover on the Paragon Pearl, but typically taking the polish off of any HK22 cover will create even more overall hook – and has worked well in the past.

If you’ve ever thrown any Paragon series ball and felt like they gave you too much overall (too early, too strong), the Paragon Pearl is worth giving a try. It will be first ball out of the bag for me in the coming league season.

The Track Precision is a new high performance pearl, and it is an excellent ball for the upcoming fall season. It definitely rolls strong and continuous and does not overly store energy down lane.

My Precision is drilled with the pin below my middle finger and the CG is kicked ½” to the right of the pin. I typically find that strong pearl balls have a tendency to store a lot of energy through the front and mid lane, creating a skid/flip reaction. Sometimes and on some lane conditions, that is a good thing – but for me, particularly on THS, I find myself in wet/dry jail. However, the Precision is the right amount of clean and easy through the front of the lane – not too clean, not too early. Then, the mid-lane reaction sets the ball up for a strong, continuous move through the pins. I would not call the Precision a “smooth” ball in the backend, but would simply say that it makes a strong arcing motion and rolls strong.

I think the Track Precision is going to be “the ball” for league bowlers and is going to give you some excellent options on medium to long sport shots. I know it will be in my bag this fall.

The Track Precision Solid is a whole lotta ball!!! Mine is drilled with the pin down below the bridge, the CG is kicked about 1” right of the pin, and the MB is about 1” right and below the thumb. My expectation was that it would roll similar to the original Precision but be a bit earlier on the front part of the lane. What I got was something unexpected, but very good.

For me, the typical non-polished HP Track ball is just simply very strong on all parts of the lane. It gets through oil like a champ, reacts very strong in the mid-lane, and has a strong arcing motion that is continuous through the pins. I also find that the Precision pearl rolls the same way. However, the Precision Solid gives me a back-end motion that is much closer to the Columbia Savage or Hammer Rip’d Solid – it flips VERY strong! I tried it a couple times on my typical league shot, and it was simply too much ball for my tweener ball speed and rev rate. However, when I bowled a tournament with it on a fresh but low-scoring 42’ Mark Roth pattern, the stronger backend motion was able to get me entry angle that none of my other balls were able to accomplish that day.

For me, this is a “sport shot only” ball, which is just fine by me, because I have enough MP and UMP balls for that condition. I could see it working on THS for bowlers with low rev rates who need the ball to give them more power, and for high rev/high ball speed players who can control the reaction. But, for higher volume and longer sport patterns, this will definitely be one of the first balls out of my bag.

The Track Proof is the first high performance ball made by Brunswick and I must say I’m impressed. The coverstock/core combination in this ball handles oil very well, and as lanes transition and moving deeper is needed, does not seem to lose energy as quickly as other high performance solids.

Mine is drilled 15x4x35, which is the same layout we put on my Prism Hybrid. For me, this layout permits the ball to get down the lane and store energy well. I realized after a couple uses how the solid coverstock doesn’t seem to “burn up” as quickly as the lanes dry out. That quality reminds me of throwing the Track Tactix for the first time – but this is a stronger ball.

Obviously, the longer you can stay with one ball the better. If you need a high-end ball that can get you through all 3 games on an oily house shot (with appropriate lane moves), then the Track Proof may be the ball for you.

The Track Proof Hybrid was a surprise to me. I expected it to just be something in between the Proof solid and pearl, but the same general roll.

Mine is drilled 80x4x30 (compare to 70x3.75x20 for solid and pearl). Out of box finish is 500/3000 and no polish. What was surprising to me was, for me, it will not nearly as angular as the solid and pearl. It was earlier and more predictable. On THS, I prefer more predictable rolls that do not overreact to the dry but doesn’t sail through the puddle, either. I was very pleased with this motion and the resulting continuation. I haven’t had a chance to see it on a sport shot, but I anticipate the Proof Hybrid getting more use on sport than the solid or pearl have for me. Highly recommended for all-purpose play.

The Track Proof Pearl is exactly what you’d expect, if you have rolled the Proof solid.

I have my Proof Pearl drilled 50x4.5x35, specifically so it would stand out as a different ball motion from my other high end pearls (Results, Conspiracy Theory), and it does not disappoint. With this layout, I get the same lane play and motion that I get from my Proof solid, but is cleaner through the front part of the lane. The mid lane motion is very nice, not over reactive, and the continuation is good – although not quite as strong as the Results.

If you love the Proof solid like I do, you’re going to be thrilled for this companion ball. Especially for playing that shim on house shots, I could see this ball putting up some big numbers for a lot of people. Don’t let this one fall through the cracks!

The Track Sensor is a smooth, predictable pearl ball that will come in handy on lower volume patterns.

My understanding of the intent of the Sensor is to be a step down from the Kinetic Black Ice, and a step up from the Tempo. The Sensor definitely does not have the skip/flip motion of the Black Ice, but is definitely a stronger, earlier rolling ball compared to the Tempo. In general, I would choose to use the Sensor in the same lane play window as the Tempo, but when I need something earlier and more rolly.

If you have a THS that is dry outside, but your weaker equipment is skidding too much in the track area, the Track Sensor could be a good ball to have. I would also recommend on medium length sport patterns if you’re trying to stay right during/after transition.

The Track Sensor Solid is advertised as a strong coverstock for the price point, with a smoother core.

I drilled mine 120x5x40, which put the pin above my bright, and the CG left of my fingers – it actually looks like a layout for a lefty. However, I’m glad I did because the coverstock is really strong for this level of ball. It is reminiscent of the Track Heat Xtreme from 6-7 years ago, which was the best THS ball I ever used.

This ball will see a lot of play on league night, and with the cover strength, could be 1st ball out of the bag on some sport patterns under 40’. This ball will also be ideal for higher ball speeds and rev rates. I will recommend this ball for sure!

If you are looking for a good plastic spare ball – particularly if you throw straight at all your spare shots – or even if you need a ball that can strike on really dry/hard lanes – the new Track Spare+ may be the ball for you. In the past couple years, players have been “going retro” with urethane – and even plastic – to get the job done. This plastic ball has a leg-up on the rest by having a very asymmetrical core that will give your ball some extra punch through double woods and buckets on spare shots, as well as some hitting power in the pocket. I have used the Spare+ as a strike ball (with surface) on 32’ Wolf pattern and was not disappointed.

If you are in the market for a spare ball – why not get one that looks great – and provides some versatility? I recommend the Track Spare+.

The Track Stealth is a high-end symmetric solid in the Track line. It is definitely a strong overall ball motion.

Mine was drilled 50x4 7/8x15, which placed the pin well above my ring finger. The goal was to get a cleaner roll through the front part of the lane and still get a strong pickup in the mids/backend. What I found is that the out of box cover is so strong, that the layout did not matter, and it picked up too early on the house shot.
Fortunately, the surface adapts to changes very well. I brought the cover up to 3000 abralon and got what I was looking for.

The Track Stealth will be 1st ball out of my bag on many THS conditions as well as sport shots that have volume. Plenty of surface changes to adapt to different conditions, but the strong ball motion will make this useable in many situations.

The Stealth Pearl is something that was desperately needed in the Track line and does not disappoint!

This is a STRONG, SYMMETRIC pearl ball that is able to provide an excellent skid/flip motion that rolls through the pins with power. In my years of throwing Track balls, this is a unique ball, reminiscent of the old Scandal pearl. The Stealth Pearl is extremely versatile for both house and sport shots, and a wide range of lengths and volumes.

The HK-22 coverstock makes this unlike any other symmetric pearl ball on the market. I can not recommend the Track Stealth Pearl more highly!

The Track Strata is a very strong rolling ball! For a ball that comes 500/1000 grit right out of the box, and the strongest coverstock that Track has ever produced, that should come as no surprise. However, there are some surprises.

Mine was drilled 45x4x25. The surprise was how clean the ball rolled through the heads, even out of box. Where the teeth of this ball seem to come out is the mid-lane. The mid-lane move is quite strong, and gives you a lot of angle to and through the pins. The Strata has been in my league ball since I got it, and for a strong HP solid, that says a lot to me.

The Strata wound up being way more versatile than I expected, and recommend this ball not only for sport, but for house shots as well – just make sure there is A LOT of oil to play!

The Track Strata Hybrid, much like the Proof Hybrid, gave me an unexpectedly different look from the Strata solid.

Mine was drilled 45x4x25, same as my solid, so my expectation between the hybrid cover and the polish would be cleaner through the front and perhaps a bit more backend. However, what I got was a smoother, more forward rolling ball. I’ve had a chance to use it on both house and tournament conditions, and the readability and response is really, really good.

When I need to have a ball that is really readable but stronger than my Proof Hybrid, the Strata Hybrid will be my go to ball. I recommend this ball for all THS and med/long sport patterns.

The Track Tactix is an upper-mid performance solid that is going to rock your world! This may be the best Track ball I have ever thrown.

First of all, don’t be confused by the “Tactix” name – it is in the same line as the Logix – but a new coverstock/core combination is being incorporated. The QR-9 solid cover is equally responsive and readable. My Tactix is laid out 90x4.5x30, and the reaction I get out of this ball is like nothing I have ever had. It is remarkably clean through the front – but still has bite. It makes a strong mid-lane move, but reads so well and does not overpower the condition. Then, the backend strength is remarkable. In testing this ball, the most amazing thing I found was that when my ball reaction dictated I needed to move left, the further left I moved, the MORE recovery the Tactix gave me. The coverstock did not peeter-out when I needed to cover more boards. Instead, it seemed to thrive with an increase of axis rotation.

With the Track Precision, I believe the Tactix is going to give me the best 1-2 punch I have ever had going into a fall league season, and the Tactix will be the first ball out of my bag on most medium to long sport shots. I’ve already fallen in love with this ball – and you will too!

The Track Tempo is the latest mid-range pearl ball and I am very pleased with its versatility and ability to control the backend, but still go through the pins with force.

My Tempo is drilled 80x3.75x30 so it is laid out with a little flip, but not maxxed. I think the first inclination is to compare this to the Track Heat from several years back.
The Tempo is earlier to respond to friction for sure in comparison, but still stores the energy you’d expect from the Heat. I can see this both provide control to the higher rev bowler as well as some strength and motion for the up-the-board league bowler as well.

I will be using my Tempo for both straight and angular play, both in league and sport shots. I recommend this to be something you must-have in your arsenal for a variety of low-medium oil needs.

I've been using my Tour X Solid for about a month. It is an outstanding compliment to the Tour X, and does what you would expect a solid version of the Tour X to do.

The high RG gives this ball easy length through the front of the lane - even with a sanded surface (my preference for this ball). The solid cover picks up earlier in the mid-lane than the pearl cover of the Tour X. In my opinion, the back end response is smooth and predictable - more of a soft arc motion. The original Tour X is a bit more angular. However, both of these balls have stronger backend motions than the Tour SIC.

My pin-down below the bridge with a weight hole around P3 is the ball described above. I also have another one with the pin right of the ring finger that provides a great controllable look on shorter patterns. I would highly recommend this ball, particularly for mid-to-high rev bowlers who are looking to control ball motion on more challenging sport shots. DEFINITELY a must-have for tournament bowlers!

The Track Triton Elite is a remarkable solid bowling ball. For a mid-performance solid, it has more backend motion and flip than any other ball I have thrown of its kind. I never had the pleasure of throwing the original Triton series – but I never threw the original Heat, Kinetic or Mako series, either…and the new versions have all been quite reliable and effective.

Typically, for me, a solid on THS is either great for playing into the oil or plays well straight outside when there is enough oil. But, when I try to play from the inside to the outside, they either are too weak or too aggressive…thus a wet/dry reaction. However, the Triton Elite seems to have the combination of strong mid-lane reaction with the strong flip of a good pearl.

This ball is advertised as a good benchmark ball. I think the backend makes it more than that – and I would stick with my Tactix for my benchmark. But when I need backend in a solid ball, this will be a go-to!

The Track Tundra is a remarkable ball for dry lanes. Multiple times – in both league and tournament – when the mid-lane has created a burn spot, but I am not ready to chase the shot left, I have been able to go to the Tundra. Somehow, this ball is able to “ignore” the burn spot to get to the break point. The most pleasant part of that result is watching the strength and continuation of the Tundra through the pins. For a “weaker” ball, it certainly does not have an issue with making a move and crushing pins.

My Tundra is drilled with the pin above my bridge and the CG about 2 ½” below it and lined up with my ring finger. The out-of-box polish is very clean as you would expect. On a high friction house shot, the Tundra has been a go-to ball for Game 3. Most recently, late in a qualifying block when my Hammer Rebel starting rolling too early playing left, I was able to switch to the Tundra and stay in the same area to keep scoring.

The next weakest ball in the Track line is the Heat – and there is no real comparison between these two balls. The Heat is at least 3 boards stronger. Personally, I think this is wonderful that there is such a defined difference in strength because there are definitely times when you want to go to a ball KNOWING you need to control the lane – and the Tundra does not disappoint in either control or power through the pins.

This is a “must have” ball for anyone with a high rev rate or anyone who bowls on friction and needs control.

The Track Tundra Fire reminds me of the Heat series circa 2016. That means, the Tundra Fire should be in your league bag and will come in handy on many low/medium sport patterns.

Although the Tundra Fire is in the similar price point as the recently released Track Sensor – and are both pearls – the two have very different motions. While the Sensor is a bit stronger in the mids and more rolly, the Tundra Fire definitely sparks off the spot and gives a very strong backend flip for the price point.

If you need something to use on the drier end of house patterns, or more low-volume sport patterns, the Tundra Fire may be just what you’re looking for!

The Tundra Solid is EXACTLY what the Track line needed, and something everyone needs in their bag for later in the block – whether it is league or tournament.

As a right hander, I have my Tundra solid drilled with the pin under my ring finger and the CG kicked LEFT into my palm. This layout worked really well on my Onyx Vibe, and found similar success with the Tundra Solid. For me, the Tundra Solid reads the dry mid-lane very well and has enough “kick” to roll strong through the pins. The Heat Xtreme is probably my all-time favorite league ball, so modifying that coverstock to create the Tundra Solid was a stroke of genius.

Where the pearl cover of the Tundra may be too clean at times, the Tundra Solid has enough cover strength to react well with both oil and friction – and for high rev bowlers could be the first ball out of the ball on league shots and medium patterns. I can tell I will be using this ball a lot in many situations.

The Track Ultra Heat is exactly what you would expect from the hybrid version in the Heat series. The Heat Xtreme solid coverstock is capable of rolling early and strong, while the original Heat pearl cover permits a lot of skid and backend recovery. The Ultra Heat comfortably fits right in the middle.

My Ultra Heat is drilled with the pin just above and just right of my ring finger, with the CG lined up with my ring finger (PAP 4 ¾” over, 5/8” up). This is the same layout I have on my original Heat. What I was hoping for was a stronger version of the Heat – something I could expect to get down the lane but not disappoint in the backend. What I found was a very evenly measured roll in the backend – stronger continuation than the Heat – in fact, the continuation was surprisingly similar to the Heat Xtreme.

The Heat Xtreme is my ATF mid-performance Track ball, and the Ultra Heat appears to be a perfect compliment. This will most definitely be a great Game 2-3 ball on league night as well as an excellent choice for transition on medium length sport shots.
