Matrix (Box Surface, and 500/polish)

Pin below the bridge CG swung a little to the right (positive axis point) is 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

House Shot Patterns Fresh and Broken Down

The Matrix to me revs up in the mid lane and gives that continuous backend like the original, if you never had the chance to try the original then you’re in luck. For me the Matrix is extremely smooth out of box and with the surface I put on it, this ball will pick up as soon as it hits the friction. I tried the Matrix on a fresh league house pattern and I had no problem getting the ball to the pocket but I couldn’t get it to finish through the pins like I wanted it to. Moved a few boards right still hit the pocket but that finish was not there. On to the third game I picked the Matrix back up at this time I am about 8 boards deeper then when I started the first game now I was able to get that finish I was looking for, same smooth shape had some high flush shots that finished as well as some light mixers. The Matrix is versatile and can be put to the test as far as surface to the lowest grit up to the highest grit with/without polish.

Real One (Box Surface and 1000 and 500/2000) – Pin above the bridge CG to the right a little MB marking less then half an inch from the middle of my thumb. Positive Axis Point 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

House Shot Patterns Fresh and Broken Down and Athens
The Real One took some time to grow on me during demo days I would watch others roll with it and I thought it is missing something, the read through the heads was a little too much the shape off the friction was much too much. Then I watched a few people play deeper with it and that is when I could see the reaction from the ball to over. I went with a different layout to get the ball to start a little sooner then what I was seeing from other people. I was surprised to see how much it started in the mid-lane and still stayed smooth then once it hit friction I had a nice smooth arc to the head pin that is something I love to see from a bowling ball. I knocked the polish off to see how smooth it could be with still being early. Adding surface to the Real One is the best thing I could have done, I am able to play deeper inside and allow the ball to start up sooner and NOT burn up the finish through the pins is strong as well. When you get this ball don’t be afraid to change the surface if the box surface is not doing enough or doing too much for you, hopefully you will see a different reaction that you like.

I was not expecting the Warrior Elite to get through the front part of the lane and then still have some energy left to finish strong in the pocket I was wrong. This was a heavy rolling ball for me once the pattern was played on for about three games. I didn’t see it trying to labor down the lane nor did I see it pick up early. The reaction was readable, and the light hits as well as the solid pocket hits were indications to me that the Warrior Elite is a ball that can be versatile and strong. I didn’t have to get two deep, and I didn’t feel like I was forcing the ball down the lane.

The other Legend bowling series bowling balls were a little early for me. I have seen plenty bowlers get them down the lane without an issue. When I rolled with the Dark Legend I saw nice length and that smooth backend reaction I love to read once it starts to exit the pattern. I was able to bowl with the Dark Legend for all 3 games that night in league and I continued to move left but I didn’t get a chance to get really deep and watch it bend the corner. However I will say I am still impressed with the stored energy and the length the Dark Legend gets. If I had to pick a word to describe the Dark Legend Predictable is a good one, I feel like when I pick it up I know what I will see.

Pattern was Fresh PBA Chameleon
This is the really the only pattern (other then badger) I could use the Scandal at box surface and it really does hook. However that is not the impressive part it was league night trios, my teammates were playing the around the same line as I was a by the start of game to you can really see were the Scandal created a nice path to the pocket for us. What I like most about the Scandal is the ability to get down the lane and still store the energy even with the heavy box surface. This is a must have ball for the oil also if you want something to help break a pattern down this ball can help.
Tournament Challenge 44ft pattern
I played around with the surface on the Scandal and used it at a challenge pattern tournament I believe the pattern was 44 ft in length. I was pleasantly surprised the Scandal with wet sanded 3000,4000 was the ball of choice and I was able to use it all 6 games as well as during match play. I played around the 12 and 13 board. The Scandal had no problem finishing, and toward the last two games when the pattern was starting to break down I had miss room to the right and it came steaming back to the pocket. This is a excellent ball and it can take surface adjustments well.

Alias – TAT, Black Diamond, House, Wichita Open

Alias has a unique roll to it. I was able to try both the Asymmetrical and Symmetrical layout. The Asymmetrical is true to the first video I saw. It is raw hook but not so much hook it burns up and doesn’t have the power to finish on the back. NO WAY!! the Alias keeps going and going.

With the Symmetrical layout I was not sure how different it would be in my hand, I didn’t like the shape with the box surface I changed it to 2000 only that was still a little too early and this is when I saw the Alias not finishing through the pins. I tried one of my favorite surface adjustments 1000/2000/3000/4000 this gives the ball a polish look to it without having to use ball polish. I was able to see a shape I wanted. During a tournament bowling on the black diamond pattern I used the Asymmetrical Alias to start. Around game 4 it started to drive a little too much and I was in a good zone so I didn’t want to move my feet. I switched to the Symmetrical Alias and it was spot on. I would suggest getting the Alias if you want to see that strong move off the friction and through the pins. I will only suggest drilling the Alias Symmetrical if your Pro Shop Operator has as close to perfect specs 2oz top weight or less 1-2 inch pin.

Cyborg is that ball you might want to put down but you CAN’T because you just want to see it again and AGAIN! So far that is me and I have been able to bowl on a variety of patterns from house patterns to sport patterns and I really like what I see. The reaction is smooth, it can and will show you that strong and or stronger move to the pocket. The finish is what impresses me the most. I thought it was just that new ball hitting power nope it just enjoys destroying the pins every chance it gets. Box surface, Lane Polish, and Polished the ball reaction was excellent and the finish got better and BETTER! No matter the type of bowler you are the Cyborg reaction you should want to see, and the finish you should want to feel for yourself. I have never boxed before so if there is a 1-2-3 combo the Cyborg falls right in line with the ball above (Paradox Pearl) and the ball below (Legion Solid).

Cyborg Pearl (Box surface) – Pin above the bridge CG swung out toward the right no positive axis point is 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.
The Cyborg Pearl is quickly becoming one of my favorite bowling balls, I have been ask in the past week by several people how is the Cyborg Pearl and do you like it. My answer is a simple yes and if you like the Cyborg you’re going to like and or love the Cyborg Pearl. I have bowled on various patterns with the Cyborg Pearl. On a fresh house pattern for me would be a little tough to read the Cyborg Pearl because the length it already wants to get and it needs friction to get around the corner and finish strong. I have also used the Cyborg Pearl later in the day and I was amazed with how long I am able to stay with it and as long as I had a decent amount of oil in the front part of the lane and friction down the lane their was no doubt the ball would recover and finish. On a 40ft sport pattern I was even more impressed being able to play multiple angles, but being able to play in around third and fifth arrow not going outside of 12 and 15 down the lane that is when I started to see the true shape of the Cyborg Pearl. This is a really great rolling, reaction reading, and finishing piece. Watching others use it with a higher rev rate and or speed or lower rev rate and or speed the Cyborg Pearl has looked very good in their hands. I will say this if you have the Cyborg or not, get the Cyborg Pearl.

Heat Lava – Various sport and house patterns

Finish through the pins is amazing for me, maybe it’s the layout or maybe it’s the lane surface(s). I have bowled at four different bowling centers and the drive through the pins when using the Heat Lava is amazing. I tried to box surface on a fresh house pattern, the ball roll seemed normal (normal pearl reaction for me length (skid), sharp or arcing of the friction). The finish through the pins for me was different then any Heat I have used prior to this one. I had to put a little surface on the cover to see if the finish would change. 2000 pad roll was a little earlier but not drastically early. The finish through the pins was amazing (need I say it again). The Heat Lava is a bowling ball I will go to when I cannot get that drive I want through the pins on conducive lane patterns. The surface I have played with so far are 500/3000, 1000/4000, 3000/500/1000, and finally 4000. The Heat Lava has taken the surface adjustments well, having the lower grit surface on the Heat Lava made it respond earlier but, it didn’t lose its drive through the pins. The Heat Lava is a great rolling pearl piece, for finish through the pins for me has me sold!!! I went pin down between my bridge CG is swung out just a little.

I have to say I am not sure I would see a ball that could be stronger then my Delirium Shock this ball is extremely close to it, I drilled them both the same just to see how close they are and to me it is close. What I like the most about the Heat Extreme is the overall hook I can really let this one fly off my hand and watch it bend the corner and finish just as strong as if it were taking a straighter path to the pocket. I have also played those straighter tighter lines with the Heat Extreme when the pattern allowed and it rolls heavy and finishes a little to strong at times but I will take that over weak finish or barely finishing any day. I knocked off the box surface then used a fresh 1000 pad by hand, the very first shot off my hand I thought I got it a little to far outside my target that was not the case the Heat Extreme had plans to show me it could make it back and finish. I am happy with the overall roll and reaction of the Heat Extreme, this ball can be strong if that is what is desired or it can be the step above the Heat when that pearl cover is going just a little to long.

Hx16 drilled 60 x 4 ¼ x 20 pap used 3 over and 5/8 up (I am right handed)
I have been able to use the Hx16 on several patterns as well as add surface to the ball. I will say at first I didn’t love the reaction almost look like the ball wobbled down the lane a little could be color this is a different color profile (pretty though). On the house shot (out of box) I was able to stand 22 and look at 10 at the arrows I could miss in a little as well as miss right and the ball didn’t lose finish or recovery. The hybrid cover out of box didn’t give me that big hooking motion. So playing straighter as well as moving a little deep works best for me with this layout and ball.

On 2009 EBT 02 46ft pattern I played around with the surface using the ball spinner. The grit used 180/500/1000 the roll was strong but not as soon as I laid it down strong the ball got down the lane and you could see it pick up but not dive left. The reaction was very readable and predictable, I am impressed with the way it rolls once surface was added.

Positive Axis Point 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

My ball driller and I laughed about the layout on this one. I wanted to try something different so we did 40x5x5 (pin about 2.5 almost 3 inches above the fingers) I like the motion I get from the Amethyst, I found this layout to be versatile for my style. I was able to play in or out on the lanes (minus the short pattern for sport I couldn’t get the ball to stop which is understandable) On House I was able to start right and migrate left. The Amethyst didn’t lose energy through the pins. The Amethyst got stronger and stronger after a few shots which is not wasn’t a bad thing. I was impressed with that. On the medium and long sport patterns I was able to play straight as well as play in without losing energy through the pins. This is going to be a good ball for me, next is to play around with a few surface adjustments.

Kinetic Emerald (Box surface) – Pin above the bridge CG in the palm positive axis point is 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

Fresh House Patterns

I drilled the Kinetic similar to my Tundra I didn’t really know what I was to expect I heard and seen great things but for me I was not sure. First time trying it in league I didn’t like the shape it was hooking and little early moved left then it didn’t hook enough. I tried it one night in practice lanes were like a game two league not to bad as far as being drier. It was a different ball I was able to roll it right and it would set up and roll back nicely really keeping the pins low not destroying the rack but sweeping everything off the deck. I got one in and it finished pretty strong as well as through some pins around I figured ok I need to roll this more. Ever since then the Kinetic has been the first ball out the bag for league, I recently put 1000 on it and in one bowling center I couldn’t keep it right of the head pin that let me know the kinetic also has some strength to it, so I possibly will try it on a heavier oil pattern at about 500 grit just to see how it works. I took it to another bowling center with that same 1000 surface on it and it was the ball from the entire night and in my area it is really hard to use one ball all night unless scoring that night is not a high priority. I think I moved maybe four boards left throughout the night I was able to miss right like really bad and the Kinetic recovered I would leave a ten pin here or there but I will take that when it is rolled that bad. The shots that were good off the hand that mixture of colors sliding down the lane and watching the friction help the ball change direction and roll into the pocket the pins never stood a chance. I have watched several different bowlers roll with it and shoot 800 I know it has to do with the lanes and the person and everything else that is involved however when your able to use a ball for a three game set or more and it is still able to deliver that is a ball to have and deeply consider.

Fresh House Patterns and 45ft Sport Pattern
I was able to use the Kinetic Ruby on two different fresh house tournament patterns, I am extremely impressed with the length and the recovery I am able to get from the Kinetic Ruby even with the box surface. After about 6 games it had a little lane polish but that didn’t stop the reaction from being smooth and arcing at the end of the pattern. Even on the shots that the Kinetic Ruby hit the friction earlier or sooner the motion was not violent the ball stood up and made that smooth reaction, which was an eye opener for me. Being able to use the Ruby on a fresh pattern as well as when the lanes started to breakdown shows me its versatility right out of the box. I have both Kinetic Ruby/Kinetic Emerald drilled the same and the difference for me is the Kinetic Ruby is not as sharp once it hits the friction. I also put both bowling balls at the same surface to make sure I was able to see how they perform side by side. These two bowling balls have impressed me and I put them to the test on a 45ft sport pattern to see how they performed. Smooth overall stronger continuous arc versus earlier sharper continuous hook this is was my result after using the Ruby and Emerald on the sport pattern. The Ruby was the smoother yet overall stronger of the two. The Ruby also allowed me to play straighter for the first couple games and as the pattern started to move me left that smooth overall hook was really needed to dig through the volume of oil and still retain the energy to finish through the pins. The Ruby and Emerald are both gems it depends on which cut of stone you’re a fan of.

I kept the Legion at box finish I will say when I rolled the Legion and watched it go down the lane I was not sure what shape I would see, the reaction that I saw was smooth not extremely sharp off the dry spot for me. I was standing 18 looking at 10 at the arrows and the ball wouldn’t stay on the right side of the head pin. I moved between 5-10 boards left targeting 10 at the arrows and now I was able to see the Legion work really well. I also got the Legion in the oil to early a couple times and it still roll into the 1-3 pocket without a problem and finished. The Legion is a good ball for those medium, medium volume patterns the heavier volume the reaction might be their however I think too much oil for the Legion is not going to show off its true talent. I had a couple shots I got the Legion to far right and the movement to the pocket was stronger and continuous, which tells me the for the reaction that I like to see I don’t want to get to the friction and or the dry to early. The Legion can easily be that first ball out the bag reason being its readable reaction throughout the lane and the strong finish through the pins.

I recently bowled on 47ft scorpion and used 500/1000 pads and the Legion will really dig through the oil. Don't be afraid to add surface if needed.

House Shot Patterns Fresh and Broken Down
I usually put bowling balls through a series of surface adjustments to see how it rolls and reads the lane off my hand. I cannot say I have seen a cover like the logix, box surface and 500/2000/polish I got that nice length and down lane read the finish is just as strong as the legion solid was. When I put 500/2000 and 500/light polish the cover for me turned into a drastically low RG type ball it literally picked up a little after the arrows skid some more and somehow rolled heavy through the pins it was difficult to predict the reaction but it cleaned the rack when it was flush. I like to see the pins low but it was fun to see the pins in the air on contact. I left this surface adjustment on it to see what would happen on a 3rd/4th game broken down house pattern. I was amazed I was crossing the fourth arrow pretty easily getting it as far right as I could and almost the same reaction, picked up later down the lane skid but this time hooked and roll or just kept hooking into the pocket. That is different for me and at the same time like I said before fun to watch.

Used the Lx10 on both a house shot and EBT pattern, on the house shot I left the Lx10 at box surface and it was a little earlier then I thought it would be no problem I moved left and I was not let down by the recovery and the finish of the Lx10. This could just be me but I think the Lx10 just flat out hits hard. This is a ball I can start with to find out if I want to up or down with the amount of reaction I need.

2009 EBT 46ft pattern, this was a lot of fun I had a person come up to me and ask if I was making the ball set up and stay in the area I was playing and how did I know it would not over hook. That let me know it’s a reaction that not only I can see but someone looking on was able to notice the read from the ball and continuous motion. I have not changed the surface of the Lx10 yet I will play around with polish and surface at some point.

Mako (Box surface and lane polish)) – Pin up and to the right of the ring finger CG in line with the pin positive axis point is 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

Various Patterns

I am impressed with the amount of length and NO burn up I get out of the Mako, I have been able to use it on a few different lane conditions. Two that stick out in my mind are 41ft sport pattern and third game league house pattern. On the sport pattern I was able to play right around the 8 and 10 board going straighter. I think I did this for about a game and then I started to see the Mako stand up (hook earlier) from those lines I was playing I moved a three left with my feet and 2 with my eyes just to see if I would make it back to the head pin. I was pleasantly surprised that the Mako didn’t over hook and it was just as smooth playing through more oil and had just as strong as a drive when I was playing straighter. That is very impressive to me anytime I can play with one ball and it shows me its versatility. On the third game house pattern in league the I have rolled with it enough the lane polish is present. I really couldn’t get anything else to give me a decent reaction and it was strike here weak hit strong hit but nothing consistent. I switched to the Mako and moved about 7 – 10 boards left and moved my eyes to the shadow of the 6-10 pin area. The first ball I rolled it was a little weak getting back so I soften up on the next shot and it was something to see I have not been able to go coast to coast with a big ball in a long time and the finish the Mako has is pretty darn strong. I had a couple times when the seven pin was standing and their was a pin that dropped down on it. Also had a couple nine pins go out late if I ever get that look in a tournament I can only hope my repeatability is high that day because it is going to be let it go and watch it roll.

The Mako Attack is a really good compliment to the Mako I don’t see a huge difference between the two of them but they are different as far as shape. Reading the lane I have the Mako being a little earlier but both are still smooth and continuous on the backend with tremendous finish through the pins. I tried the Mako Attack out of box and I couldn’t believe the amount of angles I could play with it I was getting a really good feel for the reaction and the finish through the pins. I rolled with it at another bowling center and it was not getting around the corner like I wanted it to. Prior to the next week I put the 500/3000 surface on it which made the Mako Attack earlier then I wanted it to be. That gave me a different reaction that I might use later on down the line but not for that house pattern. I then put 2000/3000 on it and now I am able to see a consistent reaction on various house patterns. That tells me a few things versatile cover as far as surface adjustment and Modified “Rico Layout” in this type of ball is not bad for me. I still have to try it in a symmetrical bowling ball. I have seen various styles use the Mako Attack if you’re looking for something to compliment the Mako or if you never had the Mako the Mako Attack is a great option, the reaction and finish are true to its name.

Mx05 drilled 60 x 4 ¼ x 20 pap used 3 over and 5/8 up (I am right handed)
I was able to use the Mx05 on a house pattern and a shorter sport pattern, I did1 not change the box surface for either pattern. On the house pattern I was able to paly as far right as I wanted and when I leaked the ball right and hit the dry boards and or the friction early the Mx05 started up a little earlier but didn’t over react. If I missed in to much the oil would take it and I would hope for the best. I like the reaction and the finish from the Mx05 and I look forward to adding surface to this just to see what will happen.

The shorter pattern I played on was Wolf 32ft pattern I really enjoyed seeing the ball get into a roll and steam toward the 1-3 pocket. The higher volume of this pattern didn’t allow me to get way in and get it down the lane however I did have a couple shots were I thought it was gone and the Mx05 decided it was not going to be denied and finished through the pins nicely. In my hand this is a good ball for medium to light conditions in my area and or when the lanes are breaking down and or drier.

I kept the Paradox at box surface and standing 18 and looking at 10 at the arrows the Paradox was to much overall roll and hook from this target area and standing point. I moved 10-12 boards left and looked at 15 at the arrows allowing the Paradox to get to 10 down the lane. The overall strength of the ball roll mixed with the amount of hook potential the Paradox stands out to me as that ball when you want to see the ball hook. The good of the Paradox is being able to play in a zone no other bowler has and or having that strong ball roll playing straighter the Paradox has that ability. I have not seen a high performance ball like this one in a while.

House Shot Patterns Fresh and Broken Down

Like the original Paradox the black doesn’t leave any doubt to the readability I have five different layouts on the various Paradox series and they all roll extremely well. If you passed up on the original the Paradox Black will forgive you for passing on the predecessor. I haven’t changed the surface yet I wanted to see how long I can go with the box surface and clean it about every 9 to 15 games just to do something different. The first few games I had to remember how smooth the Paradox series is, after a few more games now I can see that shape starting to change in a great way for me. Predictable, smooth, and an overall good addition to any bowling arsenal you cannot go wrong with having the Paradox Black.

Paradox Red – Various sport and house patterns

Paradox with a new attitude and a new look. I love this one just as much as I loved the others. I went with a different layout just to see what I could get away with. 40 x 6 x 17, I am impressed with the finish through the pins playing straighter I have seen this ball enjoys standing up and then rolling heavy. Even when I moved left and opened up the lane a little I could see the Paradox Red start up and then make the strong move through the 1-3 pocket. I had a few light hits which was expected if I went to far left and played to much in the oil. The Paradox Red can be a tame piece or it can be the hook monster on heavy oil patterns. Being able to take surface adjustments is a fan favorite for sure.

Paradox Trilogy (Box surface) – Pin up about an inch and to the right of the ring finger CG swung out but not pass my PAP no x-hole. Positive axis point is 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

I was able to use the Paradox Trilogy on a 39ft challenge pattern as well as various house shots. The read I got was different then the other Paradoxes this one gets more length. I believe the Trilogy needs the friction a little sooner and it has no problem getting to the pocket as long as the volume is not high and there is a good amount of oil in the front part of the lane. It is not that wow ball as far as hook and strength however, it is that smooth arcing reaction that is easily readable. The finishing power of the Paradox that is still something I will always love. On the house shot it is hard for me to put the Paradox trilogy down, it allows me to play a little more right but not straight up the boards, when it’s reading early I know it is time for me to move. With the Paradox Trilogy cover and box finish I haven’t made a huge move left because I still want the Paradox Trilogy to dig in and finish when it gets to the pins. Playing various angles from game one-three I can see the finish is very good no matter how much or how little lane is covered.

Paradox V – Various sport and house patterns

Positive Axis Point 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

I didn’t’ change the box surface for the V. I wanted to see its true motion out of the box. I drilled this ball 60x5 1/4x65 (pin below the bridge of the fingers CG swung out a little), this is a smooth layout for me and also gives me the controlled reaction I would want to see from a higher end ball on medium to lighter oil conditions. On the house shot I was able to play farther right when the lanes started to break down, the drive through the pins was excellent. I found the short sport pattern to work best for the layout. Overall I think this is valuable to the Paradox family.

Tactix – Various sport and house patterns

Positive Axis Point 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

I will have to get another Tactix to see the stronger or weaker motion. I haven’t been able to get the ball to stop reading so early on house patterns which is what I expected when I put the layout on it (pin under the bridge of the fingers) this is a layout that I try with most bowling balls first. They are often too strong on house for me but work well on sport patterns. On the sport patterns I was able to play on the short medium and long patterns. The motion for me is smooth not too much off the friction and not that blast through the pins however, it finishes nicely through the pins. The Tactix is a going to be a part of my triple threat GB2, GB3, Tactix on various tournament patterns.

Tactix Hybrid – Various sport and house patterns

I have been able to use the Tactix Hybrid on almost every pattern I have bowled on since getting the Tactix Hybrid drilled. The ball roll through the midlane is fantastic for me. I am able to watch this ball all the way through the pattern and it’s fun to see the shape. The finish through the pins is great. I get scared a few times when the ball finishes near or behind the four pin. I know the next time up a move needs to be made. The continuation through the pins mixed with the readability of the Tactix Hybrid for me, this is a ball I try first to see what the lanes are giving me. I went with my standard layout just to see what the ball does pin below the bridge about ½ inch down. CG swung out with the MB near the right of the thumb.

Triton Elite – Various sport and house patterns

Positive Axis Point 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

Smooth and continuous is what I like the most about the Triton Elite, I was a little skeptical looking at the box surface thinking it would be to early for my area. I was wrong, game 2 I pulled the Triton Elite out the bag played through 20 at the arrows letting it float right no farther then 8 down lane. I was impressed to see the ball recover without being violent, then go through the pins I was happy to see such a smooth reaction from a ball that looked to be strong. The other key to the Triton Elite is the versatility I used it at box, added a little more surface and slight polish. The difference in the ball roll is noticeable however, the motion stayed true for me. I went pin down between my bridge CG is swung out just a little. If you want a ball that is easy to read and isn’t to sharp off the friction the Triton Elite is a bowling ball to consider.

Tundra (Box surface) – Pin above the bridge CG in the palm positive axis point is 4 3/8 right 1/2 up.

Third Game House Pattern 41ft

Everything that was said about the Tundra being for lighter oil and or dry lanes is true. The Tundra does not lack in hitting power either when you’re on those condition were the volume is low and it is close to being bone dry this is a nice ball to go to. I have not played with the surface yet I will do that in the near future nothing lower then 3000 I still like to see that length and continuous motion when it hits the friction. One night in league during the last game I couldn’t get anything to stay right long enough to give me a good reaction. I switched to the Tundra for the last five frames and moved about 7 right and that was not enough I moved three more right and that was the perfect place to be for the last four shots in that game. The Tundra is a ball I would suggest to have on those short conditions and those drier lane conditions.

I drilled the Tundra solid 40x4 1/4x 20 (Pin about 2 inches above the fingers) this is not a bad layout for me I wanted something a little stronger on the lanes when they are to fresh. This worked out perfect I don’t have to play far right in order to see movement out of the Tundra, I can also play in a little as long as it doesn’t skid in the oil to long. The move off the friction is smooth and the finish is nice. I was surprised to see I could play on short and medium sport patterns with this layout, the Tundra will be a good ball when I get on more sport patterns early and late in the day.

Ultra Heat – House (Box Surface and 2000) – Pin above the ring finger CG to the right.

Ultra Heat is easily going to be a favorite of mine I have a hard time finding a ball that will stop hooking during that last game of league. I used the Ultra Heat all three games just to see how the shape would change throughout the night, first game it was laboring which was expected. Second and third game I could see the length work to my advantage. I played around with the surface put 2000 by hand on it not bad either I was happy to see it still wasn’t to strong and not early at all. I am going to make another surface change by hand more then likely 3000/4000 which might put me close to box finish. I am looking forward to using the Ultra Heat and Kinetic Emerald combo when the lanes start to break down. If you’re looking for that ball that has length and it finishes through the pins the Ultra Heat is a pleasant surprise.
