My younger cousin just joined a local bowling league and they actually had a deal on the Brunswick Target Zone Blue/Black/White bowling ball. He didn't have a ball, and I needed a spare ball so I picked up 2 of these at a great price for a pro shop. He uses it as his only ball ( he throws straight ) and I love it to pick up spares. A spare ball is needed if you want to bring up your average and this is a great one. It will go where you throw it and won't have much action. Pair this along with a nice ball for strikes and you will be in there. The only problem is that my cousin figured out these are non hooking starter balls and now he thinks he is good enough for a real ball. I have to teach him to hook the ball first then he can take the next step!

The Storm Wired bowling ball was my first "real" ball. I purchased it from the shop owner at Palo Alto bowl. He had used it for about a month or so and gave me a really good deal. The last time I saw him use it he was in the 10th frame with 2 strikes throwing for a 300. I walked in the alley and he gave me a wave, rolled his last ball and threw a 9. I think i jynxed him :( . Anyway this ball was very impressive compared to the house balls I was used to. It had a fourth hole which was the counter weight, or whatever its called and I had it re-drilled to fit my hand. This ball worked out great and helped me bowl my all time high of 232!! For a first ball it worked out very well and helped me realize how much a "real" ball can help your average score. A nice ball really does make all the difference.
