INNER CORE: Sinister™
COVERSTOCK: Whiplash™ Hybrid Reactive
FINISH: 4000 Grit Sanded
15# SPECS: RG: 2.55, DIFF: .053, MB DIFF: .018
RECOMMENDED LANE CONDITION: Heavy Oil
DESCRIPTION: The 2Cruel has a mean backend reaction that inflicts serious damage in heavy oil. The new Sinister asymmetric core has a higher RG to provide length, and differentials that produce strong track flare. This weapon is then armored with a new Whiplash Hybrid Reactive cover to generate a backend reaction that is absolutely devastating. Get MOTIVated!
If you want strength this is the ball for you....No MOTIV joins the ranks of demolition in the heavy oil patterns. Ive been searching for a ball that fits my game in the oil and now I have that MONSTER in the 2 Cruel.
Get MOTIV-ated and GET THIS BALL! You wont be dissapointed!
Just know this ball is for OIL!!!!!!! you can modify the shell to extend the lenght but this is definitely an OIL killer!!!!!!!

Elevate your game with the new Ascent line! The Pink / Purple Pearl Ascent features the MOTIVator-Z cover from the QZ2 and the proven Recon core. The gorgeous pearl cover provides the ball with length and an angular backend. I find that on a 2nd shift league I can play the track with the Ascent Solid than later ball down to the Pearl without moving my feet and stay in the same zone that I was playing. I see that the Pearl gives me about 5 feet more than the Ascent Solid

A great performance value “Entry Level Ball” with great Hit & Carry

My Motiv Covert Revolt: Drilled with the pin below my bridge and the CG kicked out with a hole in the P2
The Covert Revolt features the new Turmoil HFS (High Friction Solid) Cover.
The ball comes out of the box at 3000 grit sanded, but for me I had to take it to 2000.
Conditions I have used the Covert Revolt on: various house/modified house shots.
Where it fits in my bag: It's a great benchmark ball and a great ball for the local THS.
When I use it: This is a ball that all level of players can use during their nightly league sessions. Tournament players will see this ball in their hand around game 2 if on a longer pattern.

My Motiv Cruel Intent: Drilled with the pin in my ring finger and the CG kicked out

The Cruel Intent shares the same cover the Fusion Pearl Reactive that can be found on the Primal Rage & Tribal. The core in the Intent is the sinister core which is found in the Cruel line of bowling balls.
The cover comes out of the box at 4000 grit sanded. If you bowl in an older center or a center with high friction I would suggest using MOTIV Power Gel to get through the mids.

Conditions I have used the Intent on: Yellow Brick Rd, Bourbon Street and various house/modified house shots.

Where it fits in my bag: It's now the second most angular ball in my bag and fits under my Primal Rage when that is hooking too much.
When I use it: There needs to be oil on the lane as this ball loves to chew it up and spit it out. Best reaction I have seen were on shot with a higher volume of oil.

This ball is truly unlike any ball I have thrown before......Prior to this release I had the pleasure to drill up the Raptor than the Sigma Tour and theses ball truly love oil patterns, BUT when the heads start to burn up this is the money ball. This ball is VERY clean in the front part of the lane and still holds it's energy for the back part of the lanes. On a THS aka True House Shot this is a great benchmark ball on lower oil shots or after your benchmark ball becomes too much this is the best replacement. This ball will be a true value and needs to be in your bag!

My Motiv Primal Rage: Pin 1 inch above ring finger / CG 2 inches below ring finger
The Primal Rage has been a great addition to my bag. I thought I would drill it up and hardly be able to use it because it would just be too angular for me. I really like to see a smooth reaction off the spot, but after using this ball on the 2013 USBC pattern and house league shots. I have come to realize this is not a niche ball.
The Primal Rage is very clean in the fronts and more versatile than I was expecting, I have been able to open the lane and still get it back.
The cover is 1500 grit with Motiv Power Gel for shine. If you bowl in an older center or a center with high friction I would suggest taking the cover up to 2000 and use Power Gel to get through the mids.
Conditions I have used the Primal Rage on: 2013 USBC National’s, Yellow Brick Rd, Bourbon Street and various house/modified house shots.
Where it fits in my bag: It's the most angular ball in my bag when. It fits under my Raptor Talon when that is hooking too much.
When I use it: Typically I start with my “BIG” ball (Raptor Talon) and when it is hooking too much and I need a ball that will get down lane and control the back ends I use the Primal Rage. That is middle or so of game 2 on a THS. On a sport pattern I will take it one around game 3-4

The new pearl RAPTOR ATTACK™ strikes with a vengeance. It is the first asymmetric pearl ball ever released by MOTIV™. Utilizing Atomix™ SFP Reactive cover technology, the Raptor Attack is very long and clean down the lane with a quick response to friction on the backend.

On sport shots, it dominates when heavy oil patterns break down and transition. On the THS, bowlers with moderate to high rev rates will be able to swing the ball with confidence, seeing an impressive backend move as the Raptor Attack sinks its talons into the lane.

The Attack has the ball motion is similar to the Raptor, but it gets through the lane much easier due to the pearl cover. So when your Raptor starts burning up or hooking too much, you can pull out the Raptor Attack and get the same type of motion and stay on the same part of the lanes. Super clean in the front part of the lane and this makes the Raptor and the Raptor Attack the BEST 1 2 Punch from Heavy Oil to Med Oil lanes.

CONDITION: MEDIUM-HEAVY OIL
The new Diablo Red and Charcoal Pearl Sigma Hybrid is built on award winning technology from the Sigma Tour, which won 1st place as the Most Versatile Ball of 2011 in the BTM Reader's Choice Awards.
While the Hybrid edition does feature the same proven core design, the cover technology and box finish provide a different zone of performance. Designed for medium-heavy oil, the Sigma Hybrid reads earlier and provides a smoother ball motion.
League bowlers that are rev-challenged or speed dominant will appreciate the strength of the Sigma Hybrid on a fresh house shot. Tournament bowlers will use it on medium-heavy volume sport patterns to destroy the rack. I use my Sigma Tour as my Benchmark ball but when I need a little more "POP" in the back and the Raptor is too strong this is the PERFECT fit to challenge the lanes. This ball comes out of the box at 1000 wet sand but you may need to change the cover to match up to your bowling style other than that this ball is as good as it looks going down the lanes.

The new MOTIV Thrash is a medium oil ball that attacks with control, but has a violent impact. On fresh patterns, the sanded Z-Max Solid Reactive shell eliminates the wet/dry reaction issue by producing a smooth and predictable motion toward the pocket. At the moment of impact, it thrashes across the deck and shreds the pins. The MOTIV Thrash is perfect for average league bowlers that prefer to throw “down and in”, and for advanced bowlers that want to play a straighter line on fresh patterns to strike with control. I found my thrash drilled with a
"rico" layout to be more skid than I liked and after taking it down to 500 from 1000 it had just enough teeth to grab the lane with control and blast the pins back. This ball truly does what it was set up to do and that's to get down the lane without losing any power or energy and still have hitting power. This is a ball that is made for all bowlers Man, Woman and child....My son loves his Thrash as much as I love mine.

My Motiv Tribal: Drilled same as my Primal Rage Pin 1 inch above ring finger / CG 2 inches below ring finger
The Tribal is another great addition to follow the Primal Rage. Both the Tribal and the Primal Rage share the same cover the Fusion Pearl Reactive but in the Tribal the core is light blub core which is a first for a MOTIV ball. So you may ask what will be the difference.
The Tribal is much cleaner in the fronts than the Rage and more versatile than I was expecting, I have been able to open the lane and still get it back.
The cover is 2000 grit with Motiv Power Gel for shine. If you bowl in an older center or a center with high friction I would suggest taking the cover up to 4000 and use Power Gel to get through the mids.

The HALO is the is the newest ball in the HP4 line. The HALO is A strong ball that out of the box comes with a 2000 grit finish. I found that grit to be perfect for the fresh. As the carry down becomes apparent you can move left and zones and still keep this ball in play. This was a really fun ball to test and see how far I can get left and bang on it. For the league bowler, this will be a great piece for a league ball and for the tournament player this ball is a must. Looking for a strong ball for the fresh, give the HALO a look.

Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Roto Grip Hustle USA and in 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the VTC (Versatile Traction Control) Hybrid Reactive Cover stock and comes 3000-grit polished with an RG of 2.53, Diff of .030.
Depending on the surface of the Hustle USA, bowlers will be able to use this on low-to-medium oil conditions. There are not many balls that can cover a variety of conditions, especially at an entry level price point. To give a comparison the Hustle Wine will glide just a tad through the front of the lane compared to the Hustle Camo. This two-ball release will be a nice transition when the "benchmark" balls are just too early. The Solid and Pearl will naturally be longer and stronger.

Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Roto Grip Idol Cosmos and In 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the REX Pearl Coverstock and comes 4000-grit polished with an RG of 2.49 with a Diff of .052 with a layout of 5x3x2.
I will start this review out a little bit differently as most know I wasnt a fan of most of the IDOL balls. Not that they were bad, they just didn't match up to me. I am blessed to be a part of SPI and feel it is my job…I take that back. It is my responsibility to throw the balls and it doesn't matter if I match up or not I can provide you with the info that I got from the ball. Now if you have read this far this is where you think I will now talk about how bad it is for me, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Let me just say this first! This is the first of any of the IDOL balls that my eyes saw the way my eyes like to see a ball shape. After a few shots I was joking with my teammate and asked him if this really said IDOL on the ball. LOL.
This ball took surface changes and polished very well and I'm starting this review with that info because a ball that does this is one you can put your favorite layout on and go hit the lanes. Now for me this is my auto ball down from new releases like the Infinite PhysiX and stronger balls like this. With more oil I can stay in the Infinite PhysiX for a game - game and a half and then need to go to the Cosmos. Our other center that is dryer I can throw the Cosmos for about a gameish before looking to ball down. This ball can be used on league and tournament shots as well.

My Thoughts…. As anyone that knows me, I focused the past couple of years on just STORM balls. I am going to be a more influential member of the SPI team. I recently got my first ROTO GRIP ball and you can find the review on the Rubicon on this website. 2021 I will be reviewing both STORM and ROTO GRIP balls. In my area, Storm and RG balls are huge sellers and I get to see many of the Utah balls going down the lane. The one ball that I had my eye on is the Idol’s and with the new 2021, I ordered the RG Idol Synergy. With this ball, I tested it against the Storm Trend as I feel/see the balls are close. The Synergy is as clean but did seem to be stronger off the spot than the Trend. When your first ball out seems to be burning up and you need a ball to hold the line I see the Synergy taking over. The 1500 grit polished ball gives a great skid in the heads and smooth down the lane. Throwing this ball I can see why it’s a preferred ball of the top pros.

My Thoughts…. The RST-X1 is the newest asymmetric ball in the Roto Grip line. When bigger balls like a UFO, Nuclear Cell, or Proton Phisix on the Storm side is too much but balls like the IDOL’s are not enough the RST X-1 checks that box. When the RST X-1 runs out of room on the approach the Rubicon is the ideal go-to ball to pick up when the RST X-1 is burning up too much energy.

RST-X3 Ball Review
Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Roto Grip RST-X3 and in 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the Micro Trax Hybrid cover stock and comes at 4K Fast with an RG of 2.53, Diff of .053 and A MB of .016 with a layout of 4X4X2
It is very easy to say how pleased I am with this ball. If you had thrown the original RST-X1 or X2 this is everything that ball is and with the hybrid cover, you get that clean motion in the heads. A great ball for that medium to heavy oil condition. The X1 and X2 are a great combo, and I can see where the balls will fit within the same bag.

Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Roto Grip TNT Infused.

In 14 pounds this ball is wrapped in an eTrax Plus Hybrid Cover and comes with a reacta gloss finish with the Torpex symmetric Core from the original TNT and has an RG of 2.54, Diff of .051.

The layout for this ball is 5.5 X 4.5 X 1 and I went on the weaker side to have a ball that hooks but to be used when they get drier.

There are many videos online showing this ball as a hook monster but not knowing things like their layout or what the pattern hurts the person watching as sometimes it is hard to understand what you are watching. I hope this helps and please let me know on the socials. I filmed this ball after league to show what it looks like on a drier shot as when I did throw it on fresh for me it didn't look great and yes that is part of the layout. This ball comes with the reacta gloss finish and like the 4Kfast I didn’t find that surface to be to my liking and the same goes with this ball. Before holes were put in I hit the ball with a used 2000 pad just to knock off the shine. This ball will stay in

Storm Code X Bowling Ball
With an intermediate differential that’s higher than any other ball in its line, the intuitive RAD4 Core provides pro shop professionals more fine-tuning possibilities for bowlers of all styles. At over 10% more midlane read than the Code Red, R2S Solid is a chassis that favors heavy oil. It’s a perfect marriage between cover and core machined to precise specifications to achieve optimal performance no matter the condition you throw at it.

I was very happy to hear that a new “Code” ball was going to be released. The the Code X is the Alpha Crux on steroids. The Code X is the solid version of the Code Black and Code Red, which both had the R2S Coverstock as well.

This ball has everything that the league-to-tournament bowlers could ask for… Hook & Hitting Power! This ball comes out-of-the box at 3000 Abralon, but can easily be changed to the surface desired. I have mine drilled with the pin one inch above the fingers and CG kicked out. On a THS this ball gets down the lane very well for a duller ball and still hits with authority. I was worried that I might have to shine it up a bit, but after seeing it in motion I will not be changing the surface.
Compared to the previous releases from STORM, I found myself to be about five boards right with my feet with the DRIVE and eight right with the SON!Q

The Drive is the second ball in the Jason Belmonte line and has outdone themselves from the Timeless. The Timeless was either really loved or hated, but the Drive is a ball that many types of player will enjoy. Out of the box it is at 3000, but can be changed very easy to match your style of play. Personally, I prefer balls that allow me to stay straighter, like a Code Red or Son!Q. The Drive lets me get in if needed as well as play straight on a longer or heavy pattern.

My Thoughts…. My first thoughts on the Fast Pitch it reminded me of the old school urethane balls of the 90’s. Some of today’s urethane balls roll up fast and just roll down the lane. With the Fast Pitch, it was controlled from the front to the back and had a more downlane shape. I don’t throw urethane too much and mostly that’s due to .

The Hy-RoadX is the is the newest ball in the thunder line and joins the long Hy-Road line. This piece comes at 1500 grit polished and the R2X solid reactive cover stock is easy and responds to different surfaces meaning that this ball can be used by players with a lot of hand and like to hook it to guys that may not have as much. This was a fun ball to test and with the box finish I was able to stay right of where I was while throwing the PhysiX on a “THB” typical house shot, but the ball was still responsive.
For anyone that has thrown a Hy-Road you will see the same shape that has made this ball last X “ten years” in the market.

Storm Intense Fire
During the initial testing of the Intense Fire we tried many different coverstocks that all performed admirably, but R3S Hybrid shined above all else. Radial Accelerating Disk™ (RAD) technology is now in its sixth generation with the RAD-E and earns some of the highest marks on the Professional Bowlers Tour. The “E” stands for ENERGY as the elongated ellipses near the pin increase the separation of mass as well as the potential energy of this dynamic beast.
The Intense Fire is the is the newest ball in the premier line and the second ball in the Intense line. This piece comes at 1500 grit polished and the R3S Hybrid cover stock is easy and responds to different surfaces meaning that this ball can be used by players with a lot of hand and like to hook it to guys that may not have as much. This was a fun ball to test and with the box finish I was able to stay right on top of the track on a “THB” typical house shot, but the ball was still responsive when I took the shine off and was able to get left and play the middle of the lane.
Do not miss out on getting this one as this ball has much more bang for the price point.

The ION MAX is that for sure. For those of you that have thrown the ION Pro you have seen it to be a no thrills ball in which most of the “PRO’ balls are made for a certain place and do not do more than it was built for.

Storm Match Up Black Pearl
With the all-new Match Up Black Pearl, we have adjusted the surface to better handle more oil in most environments. At 2000-grit Abralon, this is the first Match Up with a sanded surface. Reactor Pearl gives clean length, but still blends out the pattern with its matte finish.

Since joining the #StormNation I have been focusing on the bigger balls. Since it's the summertime I am getting my bag fully stocked for the upcoming season. I am a player that can stay in bigger balls longer, but even that will not hold up 100% of the time. What I really like about this ball is how well the midlane is read due to the surface of the ball. My “A-Game” is when I can see the ball rolly and this is a big rolling ball ball. I can still stay near the track even when guys are balling down and jumping a zone or two left of me. This ball reminds me of the Torrent which is another favorite of mine.
Do not miss out on getting this one as this ball has much more bang for the price point.

Storm Omega Crux

The Omega Crux is the newest ball in the premier line. This is A stronger ball that out of the box comes with a 3000 grit finish. I found that grit to be a little strong out of the box for a THS. Very Strong in the mids and wants to stand up fast. As the carry down becomes apparent you can move left and still keep this ball in play. This will be for me more of a tournament ball where the pattern is longer or higher volume. For the average league bowler, this ball will be better with either some lane shine and/or polish. For the tournament player this ball will be a must. Looking for a strong ball for the fresh, give the Omega Crux a shot.

The Phaze lll is the newest ball in the master line. The Phaze lll is A stronger ball that out of the box comes with a 1500 grit polished finish. I found that grit to be perfect for the fresh and for any far of the Storm Physix, this ball is a beefed-Up version. Stronger in the mids and back part of the lane. As the carry down becomes apparent you can move left and zones and still keep this ball in play. This was a really fun ball to test and see how far I can get left and bang on it. For the league bowler, this will be a great piece for a league ball and for the tournament player this ball is a must. Looking for a strong ball for the fresh, give the Phaze lll a look.

The PhysiX is the is the newest ball in the permire line. The Storm PhysiX introduces brand new technology stateside. The New Core Atomic and New Cover NRG Hybrid. This piece comes at 3000-grit Abralon and the new NRG Hybrid reactive cover stock.
First thing you will see whit this ball is how SEXY it is!!!!
Next you will have that wonderful Apple Berry Crisp.
After all of that and you get the ball punched up you will see some motion from this piece. When I needed a little pop after the CodeX was bleading out, this is that go-to- piece. It will get down the lane very well and have stored power to blast the pins.
Looking for a ball to give a diffrent shape and still need a good med-to-heavy oil ball, well this is that ball.

For the past few months, you would need a crowbar to get the Code Red out of my hand. That was until I punched up the Son!Q and Drive. I picked up the balls last Monday and threw the Son!Q for a 680ish set. On Wednesday I threw the Drive for a 690ish set. I was impressed with what I saw in the league. Today I went to practice with them I started with the Son!Q and before I knew it I had the front 7 and ended up shooting 279. Wanted to see how long I can stay with this ball before moving I shot 268. At this point, I have bowled two games with two others on the lane and this ball still hasn't moved. I proceeded to bowl another game without a move. The 5th-frame of game three I had to move a board with my foot and finished with a 258 and 805 series.

Hey, and welcome back as we have a great one for you from Storm Bowling Products The Road! If you're a fan of these reviews, first and foremost, I want to thank you for hopefully enjoying these reviews and videos and hope it gives you some information to take back when looking to get your next bowling ball. From the previous reviews and videos of the Hustles, as I've mentioned many times being more speed dominant than rev dominant, the weaker equipment tends to give me a really bad over-under reaction but with this ball, I did not really see it unless it was human error. The Road video starts off with a strike and so I start moving to the right a little bit and you could see where the next couple of shots the ball hangs and so I move back to the left a little bit at a time. and as you can see the more I move left the better. this ball looked off the spot. Once again, balls lower than the mid-performance or benchmark-ish balls usually don't fare too well for someone like me who is more up the back of the ball as the ball is forward most of the way down the lane. As you can see this ball was something that moved left which again is something I don't tend to do a lot as I usually focus staying within bigger balls. it changed my mind a little bit and really can't wait to work over the summer dialing in those hustles. The road. I am definitely going to keep at its box finish and manipulate a few balls around this one and really define the bag and I definitely see this ball being a staple in the bag for some time to come.
