The Roto Grip Halo is the newest addition to the HP4 line. Bottom line, this ball hooks. Nothing about this ball resembles the lazy downlane motion asymmetric balls sometime give you when you move in. Tested on a typical house shot, I was able to move inside 4th arrow and still have this ball go through the pins just as well as if I was playing 10. Where this ball really shines is in the midlane. Ask any pro bowler and they will tell you the midlane is where ball motion is created. With the Halo, the midlane read is amazing. It just doesn’t miss the spot. I am looking forward to throwing this beast on some heavier volume sport patterns in the near future, but for now I can already tell this one will be a staple in my bag. #OwnIT.

The Roto Grip Idol is their replacement for the popular Haywire. In my opinion, the Idol out-performs the Haywire in every facet. Its strong, its rolly, and continuous. Cannot ask for much more when bowling on heavier volumes or if you want to control downlane reaction. I have used the Idol primarily on house shot, but even then you can tell this ball blends the pattern out very well. Bowlers who are looking for an aggressive yet predictable ball reaction, then the Idol is no doubt the ball for you. Stop by your local pro shop and pick one up!

The Roto Grip Winner is the newest additions to RG’s HP2 Line. Like most of their HP2 line balls, you cannot beat the “bang for your buck” performance that they offer. I laid this ball out 5.5x4.5x40 and tested it out on a typical house shot. What I found was a very Wrecker-Like ball motion. The Winner glides effortlessly through the front part of the lane. The backend motion was not exactly a “flippy” motion, but rather a continuous roll. As clean as it was through the fronts, I was expecting a lot more snap, but was pleasantly surprised when I saw the motion on the backend. The energy it stores really shows when it goes through the pins. Off hits sent messengers, light hits carried with ease, and anytime I was close the ball ran em over. Go to your proshop and pick you up one of these today!

I have been a fan of the Crux line since the original Hybrid Crux. I have not, however, been a huge fan of asymmetrical cores in the past. Seems like a lot of time when I move deep inside with asymmetrical cores, the ball does not want to finish. The Crux line definitely allow me to move inside and still see that backend motion that I am looking for. I drilled my Alpha Crux with a layout that is pretty versatile for me (45x35x40). The Alpha Crux is definitely the strongest ball in my bag overall. If you are looking for midlane read combined with an angular backend motion, look no further than the Alpha Crux. If I had to compare it with any ball in the recent past, I would say the Zero Gravity is comparable, but overall has less ball motion. For bowlers who have a lower rev rate,, high ball speed, or bowl for those who bowl on slick conditions, the Alpha Crux would be the first ball I would suggest.

The Storm Code X is the final piece in the Code Series of bowling balls. Improving upon the performance of the previous Codes, the Code X offers a solid cover that will give you the earliest and smoothest reaction out of the Code trio. I have used this ball on both house and sport conditions, and while it can be a good option for lower rev or higher speed bowlers, I think the majority of bowlers would find success with this ball on heavier volume patterns. If you liked the reaction the other Codes gave you, then complete the trio and be sure to pick up a Code X!

The Storm Drive is an excellent addition to Storm's newest line of bowling products (Signature Series). In collaboration with Jason Belmonte, the Storm Team has created a great ball option if your Timeless is not reading the middle part of the lane. I have used this ball on many different patterns, but it seems to do the best when there is an adequate amount of head oil. This ball really chews up in the mids and gives you a continuous arc to the pocket. If you are needing a ball to be about 2-3 feet earlier on the lane, go to your local pro shop and pick up a Storm Drive!

I was very excited about the fight when I saw how large the core was. i immediately thought of the Reign series, which I absolutely loved. The ball motion that the Fight creates is something very different. Very smooth yet rolly through the front part of the lane with ample backend. The backend that this ball generates is amazing for the surface it is at. What I love about the Fight is how great it is on tough lane conditions. It reminds me of (dare i say it) a Hyroad with just a little earlier read. This ball would be a great addition to any arsenal. Go get one now!

Building off the success of the original Intense, Storm has introduced a hybrid version of its pearl predecessor. I had both the Intense and the Intense fire laid out the same. On a typical house shot what I saw was that the Fire read the middle part of the lane a good 2-3 feet sooner. The original Intense was very clean and violent off the dry boards, where the Fire had more of an arc downlane. The Fire would be a better option to start with, just because it does see the lane a little quicker. Once the block or league night continues on, you would be able to pull your Intense out and play near the same area.If you are looking for a new ball that will allow you to open up the backend on some of the heaviest oiled conditions, get to your pro shop and pick up an Intense Fire today! #Stormnation.

The Match Solid is a great benchmark bag for a variety of bowlers. The solid coverstock allows the ball to really dig into the oil for a lower end ball. If you are looking to control the backends on the drier house shot or shorter sport shots, the Match Solid is the ball for you. I drilled my Match with my favorite layout (45x5x45) and was amazed. The entry angle the Match has for a low end solid is unbelievable. For the price point, the Match has to be one of the best balls on the market. Grab yours today!

The Match Pearl is what every bowler needs when they start to see friction on the lanes. This ball surprised me when I first started throwing it on a 42ft house shot. I had to take a BIG step left. This ball hooks, and hooks a lot. If you are looking to open up the backends later in tournament blocks, or are looking for more entry angle, grab yourself a Match Pearl. You will not be disappointed!

I drilled my Phaze with my favorite layout (45x5x45) just to see where this ball would fit in my bag. All I can say is WOW! Forever the IQ Tour has been the first ball out of my bag. Now the Phaze is giving the IQ a run for it's money. I have also had the chance to throw the ball on multiple sport patterns. This ball handles volume really well with such a shiny cover. If you are like me, and steer away from Pearl bowling balls, this one is definitely an exception! First set out of the box with this ball i had 804, and have since had 3 other 800's since drilling it. The way it reads the midlane for a Pearl ball is something every bowler is looking for. It is a perfect balance between hook and control. My best advice is go pick one of these up ASAP. You will not be disappointed.

The Son!Q expands on the successful !Q line. In comparison to the original IQ Solid, i have this ball about 3-4 boards more on the backend, and even a little earlier in the middle part of the lane. This ball helps me blend wet/dry conditions very well. If you are looking for a new benchmark ball, look no further than the Son!Q!

First off let me say that this ball surprised me. I drilled it up pretty weak. I wanted this ball to be something I went to when the lanes got tough. What surprised me about this ball was how much downlane recovery it had even though I drilled it with one of the weakest layouts I have ever used. If you are looking for a perfect compliment to your original Fight when the lanes start to breakdown, look no further than the Street Fight. This ball will give you the push through the fronts that you need during long blocks or for drier patterns. The Street Fight really reminds me of one of my favorite balls ever: Reign On. If you ever owned a Reign On then you know how versatile and reliable that ball is. The Street Fight would be a great new replacement.
