The new addition to the Reality line up the Altered Reality. I will say this is the 2nd asym pearl ball that I am a huge fan. I like to say that the Altered is a Zen on steroids. Has a very similar ball motion but a stronger backend motion. The Altered has the ball motion and shape that I really like. The cover is strong enough to get through the fronts on fresh conditions and stores enough energy down lane to get through the pins. This is a ball that can be played on various parts of the lane based on your style of play. If you are a fan of the Reality as most PBA players are your going to love the Altered. Another great addition to the Global line up.

I have been extremely impressed with the new Burner Pearl. The Zen is typically this first ball out of my bag in the past several months. I have had two 300 games with the Zen and my highest series to date 793. I have drilled several Burner Pearls for league bowlers as the season started and was getting a lot of positive feedback. I decided to pull the trigger and drill one up (60 x 3 ¾ x 35). The first time I threw this ball I was incredibly surprised. I like to refer to this ball as my baby Zen. I was looking for a pearl ball that I could ball down to when the Zen or when the lanes called for it. This ball is a little cleaner down lane smooth with a nice backend motion. I really like the way this ball goes through the pins and gets out the corners. I have switched to the Burner Pearl on a couple of occasions. The first time shot a 290 game in league and a 259 game during a sweep tournament to shot 968 scratches for four games. The Burner pearl has made the bag been looking for a ball like this for a long time. Check out this Burner Pearl at your Local Storm VIP pro shop may just be the ball your looking to ball down to or play on medium to dryer lanes.

I continue to be amazed at the technology this year from SPI new releases. The Eternity by 900 Global is no exception. This ball is so good. I am a big fan of the lower mid rang RG’s with lower PSA. The Eternity is a bit cleaner than say the Exotic Gem and Infinite Physix yet does not sacrifice motion or backend. The Eternity is smooth rounded and picks up down lane. The Eternity is a quicker down lane and just keeps going with strong continuation. The Eternity is a good compliment to the TNT. This ball will be a good addition to several play styles and can be a the first ball out of the bag on your typical house shot. It seems to let you play straighter and not overreact off the dry as well as moving in and can still get around the corner. The Eternity is another big hit by 900 Global a keeper for sure.

What can I say but WOW! This ball is strong I was surprised how much this ball hooked the first time I through in on a fresh 42-foot house shot. I drilled this with my normal layout 55 x 4 x 30 (4 x 5 ½ x 1 close to those numbers) which puts the pin kicked out t to the right of my ring finger and the PSA about 1-2 inches away from my thumb. I really like how smooth this ball is and it is a bit earlier than I expected, it picks up down lane and has good continuation through the pins. This ball forced me to move at least 6-7 boards in from my normal starting position. I was standing on 25 to get the ball to come into the pocket. I have since brought the surface down to 2000 due to my ball speed. This compared to the Reality is for me almost as strong bit s little earlier yet still has the same ball smooth ball motion. The HB is a keeper for me for sure. There have been a couple of times in the past week where the conditions were as such that I wished I had the HD with me. If your looking for a strong smooth controllable ball, the HB Intensity is definitely a ball to considered on them little longer fresher oil patterns. A great addition to the Honey Badger lineup.

This is the first 900 Global ball I have ever thrown. I have a difficult time matching up with Asymmetrical balls. I am more of a down and In player with higher ball speeds and a lower rev rate (however recently I have worked on increasing the rev rate and lowering the ball speed) I was really surprised at how much this ball hooked. I really like the ball motion and how strong it is. I drilled this OOB 60 x 3 1/4 x 45. Which puts the pin above my ring finger kicked out to the right. I spend along trying to figure out how to layout this ball and I nailed this one. I left the cover OOB. Reality is smooth and predictable with a strong backend motion. It is earlier than the Proton Physix but still picks up well and does not burn up and has strong continuation through the pins. I have a hard time getting Asymmetrical getting through the pins without burning up and getting the right shape. I can move in with this ball and trust the ball will turn the corner. I have found the strong core/cover ball for the longer heavier oil patterns. This ball is a winner!

The Wolverine is the newest addition to the 900 Global lines. The Wolverine is the newest pearl with a strong backend motion. It has a smooth motion a cleaner through the fronts with a strong motion on the backend. The wolverine is a bit more angular than the Zen what is currently my favorite ball in my bag. I through this with the out of box finish and found for me that it would sometimes overreact on the dry and labor when I got it in some oil. I did not use any sure and now discovered the wolverine seems to blend better with some surface. The wolverine will be a nice addition to any arsenal and can be used with various styles of play.

The return of the Wolverine is finally here. This addition is very similar to the original Wolverine with a bit a cover and finish change. The Wolverine is clean and smooth with a sharp backend motion. The new 4k fast finish seems to have gotten ride of the over under reaction the original was giving me initially. It has strong continuation through the pins. If you are a player looking for a ball where you can open angles and see the ball turn the corner holds energy the Wolverine would be the ball. This addition of the Wolverine reminds me of the IQ Emerald yet with a stronger sharper backend motion. It good to have the Wolverine back in the 900 Global line up.

It’s finally here! The new Zen Master by 900 Global. I have to say I was so excited when I first heard the ball was going to be released by 900 Global. Since a drilled and started throwing the Zen. It has been the first ball out of my bag. I have had my first 300 and highest series to date 793. I was hoping that solid version of this ball was coming and well no we have it delivers. Zen master with the S 77 response solid cover is smoother down lane with a lot of backend. Then Zen master has great continuation through the pins. Zen master is a bit earlier and smoother than say the phase 2 and not as angular as the original Zen. The Zen Master will be a staple in my bag for sure. It will be a great compliment to the phase 2 and the original Zen. The Zen Master will be a versatile for various play styles and lane conditions. If you're looking for a new strong symmetrical ball, check out the new Zen master at your local VIP pro shop.

Its finally here!! What can I say but Zen Ball Good! The Zen has been my favorite go to ball this year with two 300s this year and a high series of 793. The Soul is going to be another game changer. This ball can be used as a benchmark with strong backend motion and can be played on varies patterns. The Soul reads the mid lane extremely with and has that nice smooth motion. This isn’t as quick off the post as the Zen and a bit faster than the Master which makes it very predictable. The Soul picks up on the back part of the lane hard but isn’t jumpy off the friction with strong continuation. For those of you that may not have matched up with the Zen or Zen Master this just might be the one the Check out your local VIP Pro Shop for the New Zen Soul!

The Zen U is here! The newest release in the 900 Global Zen lineup and what a surprise. I;m not even sure what to say but wow! This ball is what I was looking for in the Zen Master as a solid Zen. I didn’t not expect this ball to do what it does. The Zen U has that Zen shape that I really like. The Zen U is strong and quick of the friction and has strong continuation through the pins. The Zen U hooks way more than you would expect. It has enough teeth to handle oil and can be played straighter being a bit firmer. It’s a bit latter than the Zen and Zen Soul, however, still has that smooth motion on the backend picks up and just keeps going. The Zen U is a keeper for sure.

The New Exotic Gem is here. This is the newest asymmetrical pearl in the Roto Grip lineup. The Exotic Gem is strong in the mid lane and early. Due to the pearl cover it’s not as early as the original Gem but earlier than the other asymmetrical in the SPI family. It has a strong down lane motion with strong continuation through the pins. The Exotic Gem reminds me a lot of the Altered Reality in its motion. The Gem is a bit more rollie and angular on the backend. This will be a ball you can play straighter with and move in if you need to and know the ball is going to finish strong. I went pin down on this ball I will drill one pin up and see the difference. The Exotic Gem will be a good choice for those looking for a strong asymmetrically pearl that can fit most play styles. Good Luck and Good Scoring!

I have always had issues with getting a ball to hook and finish on heavier volumes or longer patterns. I will say that my game has improve tremendously over the past couple of years Especially ball speed. That being is no lack of hook potential in the new GEM. This ball is a beast! The shape smooth and round with a strong backend motion. The GEM picks up down lane and drives hard through the pins. This has been a ball and motion I have been waiting on for a long time. Especially for a big cover/core ball for fresh heavier conditions. The GEM is good for those that like play straighter and still shape the ball down lane. Getting deeper in may have some difficulty making the conner and depending on style of play. If you are looking for a strong ball for the heavier/fresher patterns checkout the GEM at t your local VIP pro shop.

I I been looking for a ball I can ball down to on the burn or when the conditions are dryer. There have been several releases recently in this category by different brands. I was very intrigued by the new Hyped Line. I drilled the ball with my normal layout 4x4x2 (45x4x30 with dual angles). I left the ball out of box at 1500 polished. I have been really impressed with his ball. Initially the verdict was out on this one but after the cover broke in some this was a big surprise. The Hyped Hybrid is cleaner and smoother than some of the other new releases in the category. It has a strong backend motion with strong continuation through the pins. I have been looking for something that wasn’t going to jump off the spot and strong enough to carry out the corners. The Hyped Hybrid does both. I look forward to conditions that will allow to see this ball in action. The Hyped Hybrid is a good choice for all styles and great for those just starting in the sport.

The return of a Pearl addition to the Idol lineup and definitely a nice surprise. The Cosmos is a great addition to the pearl line up. It has the performance that bowlers expect from the idol line. It’s smooth and rounded shape is very predictable. It has a strong backend motion with good continuation from the pins. The Cosmos with the ExtremeTrax Pear cover at 4k finish responds hard off the friction but doesn’t seem to overreact. The Cosmos picks up down lane and holds its energy well. The Cosmos will fit most play styles and conditions. I definitely recommend this ball if you are looking for a new smooth ball with a strong backend pearl.

The long-awaited new Idol is here. The new Idol Helios. I was a big fan of the original Idol. Just a few months ago I drilled up a new one I had gotten just before they were discontinued. The new Idol Helios is a keeper. I would say it is a bit strong and earlier than the original. It is very smooth and predictable. I will be honest and say this ball motion is what I was looking for in the Zen Master. Really wanted another solid in my bag to compliment the Phaze2. This Helios is that ball. I can move in, and the ball will finish strong has great continuation reads the mind lane well. The Helios gives me a few boards miss room as well. This will be a great ball for any style, and you can play various angles on the lane. The Helios is definitely a great addition to the Roto Grip Idol line.

Hello, I am Rodney Gilmore here from Greater Ozark Open Pro Shops in Springfield, MO. It has been a long time since I have thrown Roto Grip equipment. I have recently drilled up and idol and really like the ball and the motion. I was not sure what to expect with the Synergy about watching sever other video ball reviews. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I laid the ball out 45x4x30 and left it factory surface out of box 1500 polished. I really like the ball motion this ball with this layout. It is extremely smooth with a lot of backend. I have used the ball on some wet/dry conditions and it really blends out the pattern for me well. I am a straighter play up the boards but now thanks to Storm and Roto grip I can move in and get the balls to turn the corner. The Synergy for me is very predictable and continuous and does not jump off the dry. I like this ball and it will be in the bag for sure.

Crush It on the lanes!

What can I say but WOW! Asymmetrical balls and I have a hard time matching up, but I can stay this one is a winner for me. I drilled this OOB 45 x 3 ½ x 40. I left the cover OOB. The RST is smooth through the front for me and reads the mid lane very well and is continuous with a strong backend. I have a hard time getting Asymmetrical to get through the pins without burning up and getting the right shape. I have experimented with different layouts on several balls. This one is dead on. I shot 723 with my first series right out of the box. I found that I can move and trust the ball will turn the corner which is very difficulty for me since I am a speed dominant lower rev player. I can see myself using this right out to the bag on the fresh. This ball has a lot of versatility another home run for Roto Grip!!

The New RST X2 by Roto Grip is finally here. This is going to be a good fit in the Roto Grip Line up. The eTrax pearl cover allow the X2 to be a little cleaner then the X1 but with good backend motion and continuation. The X2 will be a good ball to switch to when the lanes start to break down and you needing something to go a little longer but still have a strong backend motion. The RX2 is not as angular as the UC2 which gives good versatility to the Roto Grip line up.

Wow! This new addition to the RST lineup is a hook monster. I have become a big fan of hybrids and RST X3 is no exception. In my opinion I think this is the strongest hooking ball I have seen in a long time. The MicroTrax cover on the RST core responds very strong off the friction. The ball is smooth with a little length and a strong angular motion on the backend. This X3 hits like a truck. It picks up down lane and has strong continuation through the pins.
Even though it is strong off friction it doesn’t seem to overreact. If you need to move in and are looking for a ball to come around the corner and finish the X3 is the one! Might be the best RST yet!

This ball is awesome!! I liked the Rubicon Solid a lot when it was released. However, I have been looking for a pearl ball with this ball motion since I switched companies. This ball was a pleasant surprise for me. The layout is 60 X 3 ¼ x 45. The UC2 is cleaner down lane and picks up and drives through the pocket. I was surprised how well it blended out the house shot I bowl on when the lanes broke down. When others were leaving corner pins, I was carrying the pocket and the ball was still getting through the pins. I can create shape with the UC2 and trust it will turn the corner. I did hit it with 3000 which made it a bit smoother and doesn’t’ jump of the friction. Lately this has been the first ball out of the bag!! I highly recommend the UC2 if you are looking for that stronger Asymmetrical ball that will fit pretty much all styles of play you won’t be disappointed.

The highly anticipated UC3 Urethan ball is finally here. I’m not sure where to start. This ball is nothing short of amazing. I am not one to use Urethan much, however that being said there is a place for it especially when balls like the UC3 are released. For me this ball does not act in anyway like Urethan. Its is early and picks up and just keeps going. The shape is smooth and rounded. When there is friction, it picks up but does not jump and has great backend with great carry. I am not one to play in more of a stroker style player. However, this ball forced me to move left more than normal and have the ball turn the corner and finish hard. The UC3 is a big surprise for sure. This is a great ball for any style and seems to be able to play from any part of the lane. This ball is a great addition to the Roto Grip line.

Wow! Is this a big surprise. The TNT is new Technology all around. The TNT is one of the strongest symmetrical balls I have seen by SPI. It is had a smooth rounded shape the has a strong backend motion with huge continuation through the pins. The TNT picks up gets going and just keeps going. It’s bit earlier than a Phaze 2 and a bit stronger off the spot. This will be a great bench mark ball for bowlers with lower rev rates sense the ball definitely picks up down lane. It will fit most play styles and good on medium to heavier oil conditions. If you’re looking for a strong symmetrical solid the TNT will fill the spot.

The new UFO Alert by Roto grip is here! I never got to throw the UFO but drilled several new it was one of the strongest balls on the market. The UFO is no exception. With the eTrax hybrid cover this all is a bit smoother and cleaner. For me it stores a bit more energy and has a lot of backend. I found I can move in and get a different shape this is a ball you can play just about anywhere with any style. I took the cover down to 2000 and really fits my game. If you’re looking for a new strong ball asym hybrid that can cover a verity of conditions and need a strong ball you should take a good look at the UFO Alert.

I continue to be amazed at the technology and new ball released by Storm. The NOVA was my favorite got to ball form last year. It was a new core with R2S hybrid cover. You wonder if you can make something better well the released for the Absolute a start. This ball is going to be a hit. I have not been able to through in much, but the few times I did I was so impressed at the shape and continuation. This ball picks up and keeps going. The motion is smooth a bit cleaner the Nova with a strong backend motion and seems to continue through the pins. I have drilled several of the for league bowler of all styles and it just seems to find the pocket and strike. This will be a great addition to any arsenal and can be played on various parts of the lane. What a great addition to the Storm line.

The Axiom Pearl is a pearl I have been looking of since I switched to Storm this year. I have been looking for a transition pearl that I could use when the lanes break down and I need the extra backend to get out the corner pins. I am also surprised at how strong the Axiom is being a symmetrical ball. It lets me move in and create a better shape getting the ball to turn the corner and go through the pins, which I struggle with. This is just what I have been looking for a great addition to the arsenal!!!

What a surprise!! This is the first ball I have thrown in the Code series. I never know what to expect when I drill up a Asym ball, the Dark code really surprised me. It has the smooth ball motion that I really like very predictable, and man does it pick up down lane. This ball makes me look like I have a ton of rev rate which I don’t. I believe this is what gives this ball some crazy carry when it hits the pins. For the past several months the Zen Pearl has been the first ball out of my bag. When the Zen goes a little to long and will not quit finish out comes the Dark Code. I can move in a little and know this ball will come around the corner. It is very predictable reads the mid-lane very well and its crazy off the spot. The Dark Code a strong smooth Asym pearl good continuation. It allows me to play straighter and move in when needed. I have been really looking forward to the New Electrify solid. I been looking for a ball I can ball down to on the burn or when the conditions are dryer. I drilled the ball with my normal layout 4x4x2 (45x4x30 with dual angles). I didn’t want a shiny solid, so I hit it will 3000. I have been really impressed with his ball. I called in my baby Phaze 2. The Electrify solid has the motion I like. It is smooth with a strong backend motion. It has the rounded shape that I like. I am more of a stroker style of player, and this ball will allow me to move or stay in the same position when I feel I am getting too deep, I can switch and play the same line. The Electrify Solid gets through the fronts well and doesn’t jump or seem to overreact on the backend. This will be a great addition to any arsenal for those looking for a ball to play on the burn or dryer conditions and will make a great ball for those just getting started in the sport. This is a great performance ball for the price point.

Finally, the new Belmo brand ball is here the FATE! I was pleasantly surprised when throwing this ball. It has that nice smooth shape with a sharper angular backend motion and strong continuation through the pins. The Fate is like several pearl balls we have in the SPI line. It is a bit later than the Zen and Phaze V and a bit more angular on the backend. The FATE is a ball you can move in with and will come around the corner and finish strong. It will be a good choice for most styles of play especially if you like a motion that is a bit longer with a sharper backend motion. Good Luck and Good Scoring!

Well, it is finally available!! The Hy-Road Max. I just drilled mine up here a few days ago. I drilled it using my normal layout 45x 3 ½ x 45 which puts the pin kicked out a little above my ring finger. I was looking forward to this release as well since it will be my first ball in the Hy-Road line up that I have gotten to drill. I like the length the Max gives me down lane. The Max has a smooth ball motion and does not seem to over hook of the friction yet is very continuous. It is controllable which I like. The Max would be a good compliment to the Axiom or the Phaze 2 even when the lanes break down and you need something longer and more controllable with a still have the strong backend motion. If you’re a fan of the Hy-Road line up the Max with a big winner!!

Since switching to SPI equipment primarily Storm, I am extremely excited about the New Incite. I have been looking for a benchmark ball beside my Phaze 2 which is my got to out of the bag storm ball. I have a difficult time matching up with Asymmetrical balls. I am more of a down and in player, more speed dominant with a little lower rev rate (however recently I have worked on increasing the rev rate and lowering the ball speed) I was really surprised how this ball rolled. I drilled this OOB 60 x 3 1/4 x 45 which puts the pin above my ring finger kicked out to the right. I left the cover OOB. The Incite is smooth and predictable with a strong backend motion reads. It is a little later than the Proton Physix but still picks up well and does not burn up on me with the lower PSA is I need a stronger pin to pap layout. The ball picks up well and has strong continuation through the pins. I have a hard time getting Asymmetrical getting through the pins without burning up and getting the right shape. I can move in with this ball and trust the ball will turn the corner. The Incite seems to be very versatile on different lane conditions as well as styles of play. The Incite can be the first ball out of the bag or when you need to switch to something with a smoother reaction that can get through the pins. Great Job Storm for another new innovative Ball!!

The cheater ball is back! The along awaited IQ Ruby is here. It’s been a long wait but let me tell you it was worth it. The Ruby is not one to disappoint. It has the typical IQ shape that we have all come to love. It’s smooth with some moderate length. Has that nice, rounded motion and strong off the spot and good continuation on the backend. I for me the Ruby would be a good transition ball form say the Zen or Fate however, one could start with this ball right out of the bag. The Ruby will be a great choice for various play styles. It’s very controllable and doesn’t seem overact off the spot although it is a bit sharper than the IQ Emerald. I recommend the Ruby for anyone looking to add a new Pearl to their arsenal.

The New Night Road is here. This is the newest symmetrical pearl in the Storm lineup. The Night Road reads the mid lane well and has a very smooth motion picks up down with strong continuation through the pins. The Night Road is longer and is more angular on the back. You will be able to move in when needed later in a block or a step down in league if your needed to control the pocket and play straighter. I found that bringing the surface down to 1000 or 1500 with polished made the Night Road come alive. The Night Road is suitable for most play styles. If you like a shape that is longer down lane with more angular backend motion this will be a great choice. Great addition to the lineup! Good Luck and Good Scoring!

The NOVA has arrived. A brand to ball with the introduction of the Ignition Core. I absolutely love this ball. There are not very many asymmetrical balls this I seem to match up well with that roll and continue that I like. But the Nova is a big winner. This ball is very round and smooth. It’s a motion that I have not seen in a Storm ball before one the I like. The Nova reads the mid lane very well and picks up and just keeps going. It is very smooth and predictable. It does not seem to overreact off the dry and yet can get through the oil as well. The Nova revs up like nothing I’ve ever thrown picks up and just keeps going. As a pro shop manager/operator this is this most versatile ball on the market. You can adjust surface, play in, play straighter, works on longer shorter patterns as well. The Nova has been the first ball out of my bag since it was released. Great for any style of play!!

It took me a while to see if I was going to like the new Parallax Effect. Again, as I have said in serval reviews, I have a hard time matching up with asymmetrical balls. I have now practiced with this ball and rolled it with some other pearl balls that I have in my bag and this one is a keeper. I drilled this with my normal layout 55 x 4 x 30 (4 x 5 ½ x 1 close to those numbers) which puts the pin kicked out t to the right of my ring finger and the PSA about 1-2 inches away from my thumb. I really like how smooth this ball is and it is a bit cleaner down lane without being too sharp of the spot yet picks up well and has good continuation through the pins. This is a stronger pearl where I can move in which is good. I can create some shape when a few of my other pearl balls will not get around the corner or will burn up. I only have one other pearl asymmetrical ball right now which is a lot cleaner down lane. I like that the parallax effect is a bit earlier and smoother without losing energy. I took a little while and some practice but this one is a keeper for me!

The long-awaited Pearl Phaze has arrived. The New Phaze 4 by Storm. I was very excited and had high hopes for this ball and boy it has not disappointed. The Phaze 2 goes with me everywhere it is a staple in my big and has been ever since I switched to SPI equipment. One of my favorite benchmark balls since release has been the Zen. The Phaze 4 is very similar in a lot of ways and is again another ball that is smooth with a nice strong angular motion on the backend. The R2S cover likes the friction picks up and really gets going. It has great continuation through the pins. Bowlers might find the Phaze 4 a little more difficult to move in on fresh and get it to turn the corner due to the weaker cover, but it is one you can ball down to and move in and play the angles. The Phaze 4 is good for just about any style of play and is a great compliment to any arsenal.

Asymmetrical balls and I have a hard time matching up, it has taken me a while to see what the Proton would really do. This ball hits like a TANK!! The more I throw it the better it got. Now I really like the ball motion and how strong it is. I drilled this OOB 45 x 4 x 30. Which puts the pin above my ring finger a little taller. I left the cover OOB. I am not sure I like the layout I have on it I am thinking I will drill another a little different. But it is working. For me, the Proton is smooth and predictable with a strong backend motion. It picks up well and does not seem to lose energy for me as some Asymmetrical balls do. A I have a hard time getting Asymmetrical to get through the pins without burning up and getting the right shape. I can move in and trust the ball will turn the corner which is very difficulty for me since I am a speed dominant lower rev player. I can see myself using this right out to the bag on the fresh. This ball has a lot of versatility a home run for Storm in the Physix lineup.

It’s finally here the new Revenant. Replacement for the Spectre. The Revenant is very similar as the original Spectre. I took a 4000 pad to mine to knock off the polish. This ball is smooth and angler with a strong motion on the backend. Adding a little surface allowed the ball to read just a little earlier for me. I am not huge fan of higher RG balls. The 2.54 is about my limit. I believe the Revenant is a good ball for bowler that like a longer cleaner ball motion with a more angler backend. This will be a good transition ball for some when they are needing to move in with more angle. If you were a Spectre fan than you will not be disappointed with the Revenant.
