Covert Revolt features the all new Turmoil HFS cover stock and Vanquish core and combined with black and smoke grey graphics, the Revolt unleashes a quiet looking attack on the pins.
My Revolt is drilled pin up with no hole which is pretty much my go-to layout on a new ball.
On long patterns, the Revolt revs up early and yet provides me with great control while playing deep angles and maintaining a smooth breakpoint off the back of the pattern. The Vanquish core, .056 diff provides a strong arc to the pins. The Revolt comes finished at 3000 grit sanded but I took mine down to 2000 grit to give me a little sooner roll.
The continuation of the Revolt through the pins is typical of every MOTIV ball I have thrown, unbelievable.
Along with success of throwing the Revolt on long patterns, it is equally impressive on THS patterns as the low 2.47 RG overstock helps blend the wet/dry condition of THS giving this ball versatility.
So if your looking for a ball to play deep inside lines with while controlling the shape of the backend motion, this is your ball. The Covert Revolt...take control!

The Desert Tank is the latest release from Motiv that utilizes a pearl version of the Microcell Polymer (MCP) coverstock. The Covert Tank has been a favorite of mine on a wide variety of lane patterns. The Desert Tank allows me to keep my angles a little straighter on shorter patterns compared to the Covert and Blitz. My Desert Tank is drilled with my go to layout with the pin above ring finger and cg straight down. 40x4 1/2x60 to be exact. In league I can play to the right close to the friction most of the night as the MCP cover doesn’t see transition quite as quick as a resin ball and for an older guy like me, that’s a great thing to have with the amount of friction we see in league.

Fatal Venom, the latest Venom ball by Motiv featuring the Gear core combined with the Infusion Pearl cover provides a clean motion through the fronts and mid lane and fast motion in the back. For me, the Fatal Venom is the best compliment to the Venom Shock which has by far been my favorite ball ever. The Venom line has been the most versatile line of balls for me and the Fatal Venom will fit in the bag nicely right next to my Shock.

The new Forge Flare by Motiv is by far the most aggressive ball I have ever thrown. I waited until I had around 50 games on the Flare before writing a review to make sure this ball didn’t begin to slow down any. The all new Coercion MXC cover has held up nicely with very little lane shine. The Flare digs early and often and still retains energy to be continuous through the pins. My Flare is drilled pin up and with my lower ball speed and lower rev rate, I’m still able to control this ball with ease. The yellow, red and black colors are certainly eye catching.

Rev up your game with the all new Forza. Featuring the new Helix Solid Reactive coverstock, the new Torx core and the new Motiv Badge logo giving the ball amazing shelf appeal.

The layout on my Forza, 60X5X30, is pretty much the same layout I use on every new ball. The pin is located above my middle finger with cg straight down and no weight hole. This layout gives me length and recovery.

The Forza continues the same two characteristics of every Motiv ball I have thrown, versatility and continuation. The Forza fits in between my Venom Shock and Covert Revolt. It's not as early as the Revolt but not as strong in the back as the Venom Shock which in turn creates an even blend. The Forza has helped me on wet/dry conditions which I see later in an 8 game block and also some league patterns. When looking to blend out the pattern, the Forza is now my go to ball.

The Forza GT is latest ball from MOTIV bowling that uses the Torx core found in the Forza and Forza Redline. The GT is equipped with the new Helix Hybrid Reactive (HR) cover stock. While the Forza was early and smooth and the Redline was long and strong, the GT is a blend of both. Not as early and not as strong which means better control. Playing tighter angles on longer patterns with control is definitely a must in my bag and should be in your bag. It's been hard for me to take the Venom Shock out of my hands but this ball has just about done that. I have drilled Forza GT, one pin up/no hole and one pin down with a hole 2 inches down from my axis. They are quickly becoming new favorites.
The blue/dark blue color combo with bright yellow Neomark logo provides amazing shelf appeal and looks great going down the lane. If you liked the Forza and Redline, you'll love changing gears and throwing the GT.

The Forza Redline is the latest pearl reactive ball released by Motiv. The Redline utilizes the same Torx core found in the original Forza but is wrapped in a new Helix Pearl Reactive cover stock providing a little faster response to friction as compared to the Forza.

The Redline is a versatile ball for various lane conditions as it provides the same smooth transition as the Forza but with a little more length and a little more backend reaction. When the Forza starts to pick up too soon, I can switch to the Redline and continue playing the same area. The Redline is outstanding on wet/dry conditions or broken down patterns when you need some length but also when you need control in the backend.

I drilled my Redline with the pin down below my middle finger, cg kicked out a little with a hole in the P2 position. This layout still gives me length and smoother than expected response in the backend. I can throw the Redline on fresh conditions or late in a block during regionals. It's nice to have a pearl ball that gives you length but doesn't turn left in the back. This ball is a must for any tournament bowler or if you struggle with today's wet/dry league conditions.

The Freestyle is the latest offering from MOTIV bowling designed for high friction lane conditions. While utilizing the same Recon core found in the Ascent line of bowling balls, what sets the Freestyle apart from the Ascent is the Turmoil Low Friction Prearl (LFP) cover stock. The LFP cover creates less friction of the ball to the lane surface thus retaining more energy which creates a better continuation through the pins. What that translates to is a ball designed for dry lanes conserves energy and has the same carry power as the higher end equipment.
My Freestyle is drilled pin above ring finger with cg kicked about 2 inches with a hole on my axis. The Ascents were good, the Freestyle is much better. I have thrown the Freestyle on cheetah pattern with success and it is also very good on wet/dry league shots. Being over the age of 50, I very seldom have the need to throw low end bowling balls because generating enough revs to get them to carry is not my strong suit. The Freestyle provides the recovery I need on drier conditions. Available in blue/black or pink/black colors, you will definitely need a Freestyle in your bag as this ball will suit many bowling styles.

The Jackal Carnage is the latest release offered by MOTIV Bowling to conquer heavier oil patterns. This ball is a BEAST. I could leave this review with that word because there is really no ther way to describe this ball. But, it's my job to give you all the info I can on the Carnage so here it is..

The Carnage contains the same high diff Predator core found in the original Jackal. The cover stock however is a new Coercion XFS Solid Reactive which provides the teeth to cut through the heaviest of oil patterns. The Carnage is much earlier and a good arrow stronger than the pearl Jackal.

I drilled my Carnage with the pin up and with no weight hole which is a pretty generic layout for me I like to use on many new balls. One center I bowl at has a major puddle of oil from 10 to 10 and the outsides are dry so I have trouble trying to blend that pattern out. I have shot 740 my first two weeks with the Carnage in this center. With some regionals coming up that are using longer patterns for a change, I am really looking forward to throwing the Carnage on these patterns.

In summary, the Carnage provides early motion in oil and a strong continuous motion through the pins. Not only does the Carnage excel in heavy oil but it also helps blend wet/dry patterns.

The Jackal Flash is a new pearl asymmetrical ball from Motiv featuring the Predator V2 core and the Infusion HV pearl reactive cover. I drilled my Flash pin up with the mass next to my thumb. I have already found success with this ball out of the box with 299-770 in league. For me being 58 and not really ever playing the middle part of the lane much, this ball is so clean through the fronts and I can stay pretty much between 2-3rd arrow area after my Alpha Jackal starts to check up too early. I believe this will also be a great tournament ball for later in blocks as the lanes transition. The Alpha Jackal and Jackal Flash are an amazing 1-2 punch to have in the bag.

With the Flash being the first 3-color Motiv ball, I can’t wait to see what the future holds with the next ball releases.

The Jackal Legacy, the latest in the Jackal line featuring the Predator V2 core and the MXC solid cover stock also found on the Forge Flare. This combination provides a ball reaction unlike any other Motiv ball. The Legacy is surprisingly clean through the front and very fast in the backend. Heavy oil doesn’t scare this ball. I can start in the puddle in league and still have plenty recovery to the pocket. I’ve managed 750 the first two weeks out with this ball. Compared to the Flare, Legacy is a little cleaner through the front with more motion down lane. Compared to the Alpha Jackal, Legacy is faster down lane and a little earlier.

The Jackal. Not much to say about this ball other than the fact it HOOKS! Featuring a new cover, Turmoil High Friction Pearl Reactive, and paired with the proven Predator core, the Jackal is not afraid of oil.

My Jackal is drilled 80x5 1/2x 50 which put the pin just above my middle finger and MB next to my thumb. The 3000 box finish is plenty surface on this ball. Compared to my Revolt, the Jackal is just as clean through the front part of the lane but it is easily an arrow stronger in the mid-lane with amazing continuation through the pins.

The Jackal allows me to play a little deeper on Shark pattern and my carry improved from being able to create a little more angle on the longer pattern.

If you are looking for a ball to open the lane up in league or in tournament play, the Jackal will be first out of your bag. The Jackal is described as a "power pearl" and it is just that.

The Octane Burn is the latest medium to dry lane ball to be offered by MOTIV bowling. Featuring the same Quadfire core as the original Octane but wrapped by a new cover stock called Helix SFP Reactive which provides an earlier and smoother response to friction. Comparing the Octane Burn to the original Octane, the Burn starts up a few feet sooner and makes a smoother transition in the back part of the lane whereas the Octane provided a much sharper reaction to the friction. The Burn is much more controllable on broken down patterns. My Burn is drilled pin down with no weight hole and I have had success with this ball on the medium 39-43 foot patterns. This layout allows me to control the breakpoint even more and I can keep my angles closer together. The Quadfire core has been a lifesaver for me on drier patterns as it creates a very controllable shape at the breakpoint. The Burn is a must for any tournament bowler if you need length and control as the lane pattern starts to break down.

The Primal Rage Remix is the latest addition to the Primal series of Motiv Bowling equipment. If you loved the Primal Rage (a.k.a. The Red Ball), you will definitely love the Remix. The Remix utilizes the same Impulse V2 core found in the Rage but with a new Raw Fusion Hybrid coverstock that can handle more oil than the Rage. The Remix hooks a few feet sooner compared to the Rage with the same continous motion through pins.

The Rebel Tank is the latest urethane ball introduced by Motiv. Featuring a new DMX Pearl Urethane cover sanded to 4000 LSS Grit and the Halogen core, the Rebel Tank provides more push through the front with a mild hook in the back end compared to the original Tank which hooked much sooner with very little backend motion. The Rebel Tank is an ideal choice when bowling on the 32 foot Wolf pattern or the 35 foot Cheetah pattern and some league patterns with a high friction lane surface.

I have my Rebel Tank drilled with an old school urethane layout in which the pin and CG are 3 3/8 from my axis. This provides a clean push through the front with a mild hook reaction in the back end of the lane.

The Rebel Tank may not be the first ball out of the bag but I never leave home without urethane, whether it's league or tournament.

The Revolt Havoc. The new purple ball. Best way to describe this ball is early and often. The high diff (.056) Vanquish core and the new Helix HFS cover stock provides an early and continuous motion even on the long lane patterns. This ball for me is 5 to 7 boards stronger than the Covert Revolt.

My Havoc is drilled with pin above fingers and cg in the center of my grip. The cover gets the ball started in the oil and the Vanquish core continues the motion through the pin deck. I use the Havoc when my Jackal is too strong in the backend or when my Covert needs to start a little sooner. I have a low track and finding equipment to roll early and continuous is a challenge for me, but the Havoc is exactly what I have been looking for. It has been a little too strong for league conditions in my area but practicing on long and heavy sport patterns, the Havoc is a beast.

Attack the lanes with a vengeance, the new Motiv Revolt Vengeance. Featuring the low RG (2.47) and high diff (2.56) Vanquish core found in the original Covert Revolt rapped with a new Turmoil HFH Hybrid Reactive coverstock.

Armed with my favorite layout, 60X5X30, the Vengeance gives me the same early roll as the Covert Revolt, the difference is in the response to friction which is noticeably stronger and reminiscent to the popular Primal Rage. The Vengeance allows me, being a senior player, to start a little deeper in oil and maintain the recovery and continuation through the pins.

With the Covert Revolt and Revolt Vengeance in your bag, I really don't think there is a better 1-2 combo of bowling balls to have. As the lanes break down with the Vengeance, a change to the Covert Revolt puts you back on the strike bus.

The Tribal Fire is the newest release from MOTIV that is designed for medium to light oil conditions. The Tribal Fire combines the Halogen core, which was first used in the original Tribal, and a Hybrid version of the Fusion reactive cover stock which is found on the popular Primal Rage. The Hybrid Fusion reactive cover stock combined with the low differential Halogen core provide a smooth reaction on drier lane patterns. My Tribal Fire is drilled 70X5X50 which put the pin in my ring finger and CG just to the right of the center of my grip. My benchmark ball, and favorite ball, is the Venom Shock and I have a little trouble creating enough angle when the lanes tend to dry out and I have to play deep inside angles. At times, my Octane is a little too sharp at the breakpoint but with the Tribal Fire, I am able to square up with the lane better and keep my angles a little tighter. As a senior bowler, the Tribal Fire keeps me from having to fight drier lane patterns because of the smooth transition the Tribal Fire gives me. If you are looking for good control late in a block of games or game three of league, the Tribal Fire is for you!

The Trident Nemesis is a new pearl from MOTIV featuring the HV Pearl Reactive cover which was also used on the Supra. The core is the new Sidewinder weight block that generates a .049 differential. The teal and black color combo certainly has the most shelf appeal of any ball in our shop. I drilled my Nemesis pin up with no hole which is my go to layout on pretty much everything. This ball is going to allow me to stay to the right with everyone else on PBA patterns in senior regionals as the patterns become wet/dry and the solid balls start to react to soon. For league I’m able to move left and open the lane up with ease. I see the Nemesis being a very versatile piece to have in the bag at all times.

Venom Panic, not much more to say. With the proven Gear core and all new Turmoil MFP (medium friction pearl) coverstock, the Panic is already a winner for me.

The Venom Panic is cleaner through the front with a little faster response to friction in the back of a pattern. The Venom Shock is sooner and just a little slower in response to friction. The Venom Shock is by far my all time favorite ball ever. I drilled my Panic the same as my favorite Shock, 60X5X30, which I ended up shooting 800 3 consecutive weeks in league with. This particular layout is my benchmark layout that I like to use on pretty much everything.

I have only used the Panic in league for the past couple weeks and it allows me to play a little straighter compare to my Shock. Being a senior player, straighter is easier. I will be using the Panic in some upcoming PBA regionals and i will be updating the review.

Hello everyone, I'm a new MOTIV Staff member and I couldn't be more happy with the variety of ball motions offered by MOTIV. Now for my first review.

The Venom Shock continues the Venom series of mid priced equipment offered by MOTIV. The Venom Strike has been a favorite ball of mine as it is very clean through the front part of the lane with a smooth continuous move of the back of the pattern to the pins. The Strike just need a little extra hook in the back to improve pin carry. The Venom Strike provides just that. The Shock is clean through the front part of the lane and make a stronger continuous move towards the pins. I have 2 Shocks, both at box finish, one is pin up with no hole and the other is pin down with a low hole. Both are very good on THS as I can use the pin down ball first to control the wet dry and then I can go to the pin up ball and open the lane up. Our league patterns are somewhat dry which doesn't allow to use my Revolts much.

This weekend I bowled in a PBA50 regional on Viper pattern and on wood lanes. I ended up polishing both Shocks with Power Gel Polish to control the dry heads from the wood lanes. Both balls carried me to an 8th place finish. The Shock is extremely versatile which makes for a great ball. Bowl MOTIVated and Shock the competition!!
