I was perplexed with the Blue Freestyle because it hooked more than I expected and I consulted with another staff member because I need a ball that was longer than the original Freestyle. He told me not to be afraid to get a Freestyle Rush. I punched the ball to go long and took it to my first event on some old beat up wood lanes. The pattern was long but low volume. I found this ball to be my immediate answer to fast break down and scorched heads. Over my first 5 games I didn't go under 215 and ended up +187. Now this ball will go with me every trip. Its a must have for today's modern conditions. I can only imagine if I would have had this ball back in the 80's. It shows how great ball company has given the bowlers what they have asked for. I like this ball so much I'm going to buy another one to stick in the closet just in case it gets discontinued. The Freestyle Rush is a can't miss. Highly recommended.

I was thinking that the Hydra would have a tough time replacing the OG Tag and the Tag Cannon. The Tag line will still be in the bag but this ball is a true monster. It deserves it's place on the ball guide because it's so clean through the fronts. The Hexion cover snaps fast off the dry and with the same hitting power of the proven Halogen core. I've been getting comfortable with all my Motiv balls but this one was a instant winner. Motiv seems to address the needs of all types of players and I can see this ball working for all styles. I know I'll never be an EJ Tackett but when I put a new piece in my hand like the Hydra I feel like a pro. If you are already a Motiv head or never tried one this is the time. Hydra

Previously I only owned a Jackal LE and I was not disappointed with that ball so I felt very good about drilling a Rising. My first test was on a 42 foot pattern with moderate volume. I was able to burn a hole for myself while everyone else was skidding way past the break point. People kept coming over to ask me what ball I was using. I wanted to keep it a secret but the dog was out of the bag :). After 6 games I was 231 over and the ball was still holding and hitting. It had a better read than the LE but the same hitting power. I'm not sure how it will do on a shorter pattern but there are other Motiv balls for that. I know you are thinking he has to say this he's on Motiv Staff. Well at the time I was not and I would use this ball whether I was on staff or not. There are many great heavy oil balls out there today but you can't go wrong with the Rising. So if your looking to buy your first Motiv or you already have one don't be afraid you will get striking results. Good luck and good bowling!

As a fairly new Motiv Staff member I did not have the pleasure of using a ball with a Sigma core. My first experience with this ball was at the demo day in York, PA. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. Even with some other great choices available. This ball has a great combination of skid, hook, roll. Not overly snappy but not to early. This would be a great ball to be the first one out of the bag. As the shot broke down I was able to make small moves to the left and stay ahead of the transition. I was even happier to see my order for one on the porch when I got home from vacation. Motiv is obviously listening to it's cutomers and delivering balls that fit. If your looking for that middle of road to high end hit this is the one. Thanks for reading.

I know this sounds backwards but my first true love of Motiv balls was the Trident Quest. I demolished the pins for the entire season last year. I liked the ball so much I decided to get the original Trident. My first day out at UBA with the OG Trident I shot 716. People tell me that the best time to buy a ball is when you are throwing well not when you are struggling. So along comes the Trident Abyss. Honestly I was waiting for the UPS man out in the street. I don't even think I stopped to appreciate the color of the ball. It doesn't have to be fruity to be beautiful. So in my backwards buying spree the Abyss turned out to be exactly what I expected a hook monster. My first experience was on a house shot and I just kept moving left. Normally I am a down and in player this ball helped me out of my comfort zone. I was able to keep moving left and not worry if it was going to comeback. The ball gave me mistake room. If I missed outside it came roaring back and If i tugged it held. I still love the Quest and the OG Trident but now I have that go to when I hit those drenched conditions. If you are not convinced go to YouTube and just watch some of the videos on this ball. Its more ball than I've ever had in my hand. The Motiv R&D team just keeps coming up with better ideas.

First let me start off by saying that I've owned every Venom ball. My favorite being the OG Venom Shock. When I saw this was coming out I was immediately on the phone. I drilled my VSP pin kicked right 70 x 3 3/8 x 30. The results on my first trip were devastating. With the sharp break point drilling the ball was super clean through the heads and even my bad shots that were light the ball continued through the middle of the pins. While I could strike with both the Shock and the VSP I felt free and easy throwing the pearl. This ball is going to be great when I go to those 10 gamers where the fronts get torched early. I would already put this ball in my top 5 Motiv balls. It will make the trip every time. If your new to Motiv or a regular you cannot go wrong with this ball.
