The Roto Grip Halo Pearl consists of the eTrax P-18 Pearl Reactive Coverstock which was in the Idol Pearl and Centrum Core which was in the Halo Solid. The Halo Pearl bridges the gap between these two pieces perfectly, providing the length of an Idol Pearl and the change in direction, due to the asymmetric core, like a Halo; thus creating, the Halo Pearl!

I feel that the Halo Pearl is going to be play a large part in my arsenal due to its versatility. You are able to open your angles up and the Halo Pearl will still recover. The Halo Pearl will also be utilized on longer oil patterns when I have to keep the ball in front of me, but still need some angle through the pins to get the corners out.

Roto Grip Hustle HYB (Layout 45 x 4 ¼” x 75; x-hole 1” down on VAL)

The Roto Grip Hustle HYB is a ball that gives me a predictable motion on fresher oil patterns and is going to be my first option on 36 to 40 feet of oil. The RG of 2.53 and Differential of 0.030 matched up with the Hybrid coverstock (Out of Box 3000 Grit) creates a ball that is meant for controlling the pocket.
I have found that the Hustle HYB works best when my angles are a little straighter and I have to get my breakpoint somewhere between 5th and 10th board down lane. This ball revs up and read the midlane quite well, however if it has a down fall it is the versatility due to the smaller core. When transition hits I would transition to a ball that is going to retain more energy and pop on the back ends, for me that is an IQ Tour Solid.
I compared the Hustle HYB to two options as I see the Storm IQ Tour Solid as a good compliment and the Storm Code X as a ball up from the HYB. As the lanes break down for me I see myself making an easy transition to the IQ Tour because this ball has a similar motion but retains more energy than the HYB. When I compared the Code X to the HYB, I had the Code X (4 boards with my feet and 2 boards with my target at the arrows) stronger. If I ever run into a situation where the Hustle HYB is giving me the right motion but just isn’t enough ball and I know I am not able to bump back right, due to the oil breakdown, I know I can make a smart decision and ball up to the Code X to give me the motion I need.

The Roto Grip Hyper Cell Fused consists of the well-known Nucleus Core wrapped in a Hybrid TX-18 Coverstock. The Hyper Cell Fused is quite a clean piece and is also quite angular down lane. The RG of 2.52 and Differential (#16) of 0.048 and Intermediate Differential of 0.017 give you plenty of options when going to drill this ball. I am personally not a huge fan of bigger asymmetric balls because they tend to read too quick in the midlane and never quite get to the spot; and if it does it never has enough energy to go through the pins. The Roto Grip Hyper Cell Fused does not do this because of the hybrid coverstock.
I find that the Roto Grip Hyper Cell Fused matches up best for me, on a medium to longer oil pattern. I will find myself using this ball as the transition occurs because this ball is a little cleaner and more angular than a ball I would typically use on a fresh pattern, unless I am trying to open up the pocket angle on a longer pattern.

Storm Code X (Layout 55 x 5” x 75; Weight Hole 2” down on my VAL)
The Storm Code X consists of the RAD 4 Core and the R2S Solid Reactive coverstock. This low RG, higher differential combination matched up with a slower reacting coverstock creates a piece that is essential for every sport bowler’s arsenal. Bowlers that threw the Storm Alpha Crux say the Code X is very similar but a little more continuous.
I think that this ball is versatile in the sense that you can keep your angles straight on the fresh medium to heavy oil patterns and continue to move left as the lanes break down. The coverstock is slow enough so it does not over react on the fresh backends, but still has enough core and cover to dig when you need it to cover more boards.

Storm SoniQ (Layout 65 x 5 x 40)
Low RG 2.47 – Medium Differential 0.045
Centripital HD Core
R2S Pearl Reactive Coverstock

The Storm SoniQ is a special ball; one that everyone should have in their bag. Here’s why this ball is so special. The low RG of this ball lets the ball rev up earlier than most, paired with a medium differential that doesn’t make it hook uncontrollably. The coverstock really tames that low RG from taking off from the friction spot, but still has enough energy to carry the rack from anywhere. This ball reaction is like no other so be sure to give it a shot!

Personal Experience:
I have thrown this ball in a league 4 out of the 5 weeks that I have had the ball, and each week I have beaten my league average by 15-30 pins per game, not to mention a 299. I have also thrown this ball in tournaments on medium length patterns with medium-high volume and it continues to prove why it is the best ball on the market. This ball will enhance your game, like it did mine!

The combination of Centripetal HD Core, a low revving core with medium high differential, and NRG Hybrid Reactive Coverstock, an early and slower response cover, you get the Super SoniQ which is one of the earliest revving, earliest hooking balls I have thrown to date.

If you’re a speed dominant bowler or are not able to generate enough revs to combat the lanes, then the Super SoniQ should be in your bag.

I can see myself using the Super SoniQ on a heavier volume lane condition (due to my style, rev rate and ball speed combination) where finding friction and getting my ball to read is difficult with the other balls in my bag (Phaze 2, Idol, PhysiX).
