Have not bowled in several yeras - I am now 60 years old - so It was time to step down to a lighter ball - just could not control a #16 ball anymore - I read many reviews, have always been a Storm fan, own six balls, four are from Storm. So I settled on the Snap Lock and had it drilled the same as my older Storm FAST - My old and all time favorite ball. My spare ball was a El-Nino 2000 - is now a #14 Tropical Storm Black Cherry. This ball has a very predictable roll and has a very controlled entry into the Pocket - It is a oil-soaker so I clean it after every two or three frames, may need to clean after each. I can change my approach as the lanes break down and still maintain great pocket entry. It's not as aggressive as my FAST at the break/hook point, (may be due to the lower weight) but it still hits a ton and clears the pins with authority. I was considering building a new arsenal but this Ball is so versatile thus far, I don't think I need two or three balls for different lane conditions Other than a Spare Ball mentioned earlier. Two thumbs up - Storm hit the mark - Again.

I bought one of these for my wife on Mother’s Day as she wanted to switch from her ancient Columbia 300 White Dot Straight Roller to a ball that had some "Hook" capabilities but not too aggressive, This is after all a new method and we thought, let's take a less aggressive approach at first. I watched and coached her on her new release method. In doing so I noticed how easy this ball was to control - If you applied some Revs, it would give a mild hooking response - If you needed a straight roller - i.e. striking that hanging Ten Pin, it was very easy to convert. So, I got myself one to accompany my new Snap Lock - Neither of us has bowled in several years, we are now at 60 (me), my wife is 56. So, we went down in ball weight - she at 12, me at 14. So, we got new balls for our first Summer League that we have played in many years. I just received this Storm Tropical Storm (Black Cherry) - (I lover the fragrance) - Had it drilled up exactly as I have my Snap Lock (Pin over Ring Finger 4 1/4 from PAP - It (Snap Lock) hooks like crazy even when the lanes start to break down with minor lane placement adjustments - But hey, this is about the Tropical Storm - I love this ball - it does exactly what I want it to do every single time - Rev it up and it will hook a small to moderate amount - yet, when you need a straight roller, it's spot on in that task as well. It looks gorgeous and I love the smell. Need a small amount of Hook, reduce your Rev-rate and it almost goes straight with a slight curve at the pins - Need more, vice-versa - Need Straight - roll it off your hand straight, it goes straight - It is very predictable, easy as heck to control, and behaves to exacting standards. I love it, it does a superb job as my "Spare" ball. A perfect compliment to the Snap Lock when I miss the pocket and leave some pins on the lane. Two thumbs up.
