Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the Altered Reality. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and I Am Bowling for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a standard medium to higher volume house shot in a new center. This will most likely be where a majority of my videos will be recorded from now on due to myself bowling league here now. As you may have noticed, I have started to branch out in my reviews. From this point forward I will start reviewing balls from all three lines, not just Storm. The Altered Reality features the same disturbance core found in the original Reality, but is now wrapped in the S84 cover. The disturbance core boasts an RG of 2.48, differential of 0.052 and intermediate split of 0.018. The original Reality is less than a year old and has already become a favorite for a ton of league and tournament bowlers alike. The Altered Reality offers the same control and ability to blend as the original Reality, but in a slightly lower friction package. The Altered Reality has been my go to ball for a few months now when the Proton, Reality and RST are slowing down too quickly but the lane isn’t quite defined enough for the UFO Alert. Before the Altered Reality, I had my Dark Code in the same spot in the bag. When I need a little more shape on a softer pattern, I tend to lean more towards the Dark Code. When I want to stay a little closer to the friction and need more closed angles, the Altered Reality is the better option. When compared to the original Reality, the Altered is cleaner and faster to respond to friction downlane. When compared to the UFO Alert, the Altered is earlier and stronger overall. Head over to your local Storm VIP pro shop and grab your very own Altered Reality today!

The 900 Global Eternity Pi is the newest 900 series ball. The Pi features the same Epoch core found in the OG Eternity but is now wrapped in batch 901 solid. The Eternity for me was great when I needed a bigger clean asym that I had to keep in front of me. The Pi combines all the traction I had with the Eternity but now provides more overall shape. The Pi is visibly cleaner and quicker than the Reality and I do not see much overlap, if any.

The Harsh Reality is 900 Globals newest 900 series ball. For anyone that was a big fan of the Reality like myself, as soon as you heard it was discontinued, I was hoping the Harsh would be close. The Harsh features the same core as the original but is now wrapped in reserve blend 902 solid. The Harsh for me is just a touch earlier and stronger overall but still allows me to play in the same zone as my Reality. The Harsh having AI core technology slightly increases the overall diff and reduces the RG. The Harsh for me is going to be the perfect ball down from my GEM and ball up from my Summit.

The Harsh Reality Pearl features the same Disturbance AI core found in its big brother but is now wrapped in reserve blend 902 pearl. This creates a very familiar shape that was perviously found in balls like the Altered Reality and Eternity. I find myself throwing the Harsh Reality Pearl after my Harsh Reality and GEM start seeing the front part of the lane too much and going too forward downlane. The Harsh Reality Pearl is available for purchase from any Storm VIP pro shop today!

The Origin features the brand new Ellipse AI core wrapped in RB93 hybrid and finished with power edge. The Origin is the perfect combination of traction in oil and response downlane. The Origin is going to replace my Exotic Gem when I need something with a big engine and the front part of the lane starts hooking too much.

The Origin EX is 900 Globals newest 900 series ball. The EX features the same Ellipse AI core found in the original Origin but is now wrapped in RB89 solid. The EX in my opinion will be in play for a longer duration of time than the original due to being cleaner and more responsive. The Origin had one of the strongest covers in the entire line so once the front part of the lane had too much friction, the Origin tended to lock up and go forward. The EX for me has been the perfect game 1 house shot ball and a great option to go to after my Ion Max.

The Sublime is 900 Globals newest 800 series ball. It features the brand new immersed symmetric core wrapped in AI tech paired with the reserve 802 hybrid cover. The AI tech in the filler material helps preserve the core specs across drilling and different weights. The 802 hybrid cover takes the best of both worlds and provides plenty of traction with just the right amount of length. It reminds me a lot of a juiced up Axiom pearl which was one of my all time favorite cleaner symmetrical pieces.

The Sublime Focus features the same Immersed Symmetric AI core found in the original Sublime but is now wrapped in 804 Reserve Blend Solid. I personally was not a huge fan of the original Sublime. It was heavy rolling for a cleaner piece but too quick for me to play straighter with it. The Sublime Focus with the substantially stronger and slower cover offers a much more consistent shape for my eyes. The Sublime Focus is the perfect one ball for my league bag or a two ball in most tournament bags. The Sublime Focus is now available for purchase from any Storm VIP Pro Shop!

The Xponent features the Shrapnel 2.0 core wrapped in the reserve 701 solid cover. The Xponent screams benchmark. This is going to be a fantastic piece that can be first out of your bag to give you a read on the lanes. The !Q Tour solid had been this ball for years but with the increase in volumes on the lanes, the !Q has fallen down a couple spots in the bag. I’ve been able to throw the Xponent when I need a smoother option on medium conditions and it’s been a great ball down from my Summit.

The Xponent Pearl is 900 Globals newest 700 series ball. The Xponent Pearl features the same core found in the OG but is now wrapped in reserve blend 702 pearl. The XP for me is the perfect step down from the OG. Providing a cleaner but still controllable shape, it’s the perfect ball up for someone that loves their IQ Tour Ruby.

The Zen 25 is 900 Globals newest piece. The Zen 25 features the same meditate core found in the previous Zen line balls but is now wrapped in RB 83 pearl and finished with power edge. This creates a cleaner and more responsive Zen compared to the OG. The OG for me was a little too early and forward for me to use on a variety of patterns. I believe the Zen 25 is going to be the perfect game 3 league ball when i need to move left and open the lane up

The 900 Global Zen Gold Label features the same proven Meditate core found in all the previous Zen series balls but is now wrapped in Reserve 801 pearl. The Reserve 801 pearl cover is much cleaner and faster than the original S77 cover found on the Zen. This bring the Zen shape that everyone loves in a weaker package on higher friction surfaces. For someone that wanted the perfect option to go to after their original Zen starts straightening out too fast, the Gold Label is your ball!

The Attention Star is Roto Grips newest HP4 ball. The AS features the momentous core wrapped in eTrax pearl plus. Ever since the UFO Alert was discontinued, I’ve felt like the SPI line has been missing a similar shape. When I was first told about the AS, I had high hopes. Those hopes were exceeded and then some. For me, the AS is a clone of the UFO Alert. I was able to throw the AS right on top of my Alert. Having thrown the AS a lot already, I can see this one being in my bag for the foreseeable future.

The Attention Star S2 features the same core found in the OG but is now wrapped in the eTrax plus hybrid with a textured finish. The Clone features the Cloned E.T. core and is wrapped in Optitrax solid. The Cloned E.T. core is almost a carbon copy for the E.T. core that was found in the UFO series balls. The Optitrax solid cover feels like a slightly milder version of MicroTrax found on the Gem. The Clone is going to be a fantastic option for someone that needs the same amount of traction that the Exotic offers in a rounder package. Be sure to stop into your local Storm VIP pro shop and preorder your own for the 08/18/23 release!

The Duo features the Mentor core wrapped in the Micro Trax pearl. The Mentor core is a lower RG and medium differential core. The Micro Trax cover has most recently been featured on the Exotic Gem. This combo provides a perfect cleaner option that will fit right below your bigger symmetrical options and right above your Electrifys and IQ’s. 5% of all sales are also being donated to BBBS, so what’s not to love??

Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the brand new Roto Grip GEM. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and I Am Bowling for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a standard medium to higher volume house shot. This lane was just oiled with a fresh house shot. The GEM features Roto Grips lowest RG asymmetric core to date and is wrapped in microtrax solid. I will be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the color scheme on this ball. It’s a little tougher for my eyes to pick up ball motion when the colors are so vibrant. What I will say is I absolutely love what I see out of this ball so far. With how stable and early revving this core is, I expected it to slow down extremely quick and have next to no shape downlane. When balls do this, they tend to not go through the pins properly unless you’re on a ton of volume or crispy backends. The GEM provided me all the control I could need and wasn’t too lazy when it encountered friction downlane either. I’ve worked a lot lately on staying more compact as well as lowering the amount of axis rotation I use to help close down my angles more. The GEM does exactly what I want a ball to do on the fresh. It be amazing at blending out higher ratio patterns and controlling the pocket on tougher tournament patterns. I decided to go with a different layout than I usually do on my bigger and slower response asyms since I just recently drilled a fresh Proton PhysiX and didn’t want to see too much overlap. The GEM wants to go a little more forward off the end of the pattern and will play much better with closed angles whereas my Proton will do better from a little farther left. When compared to the RST-X1, the GEM is much earlier, stronger and creates a lot more friction overall. When compared to the Rubicon, the GEM is two steps up in terms of strength and friction created. Be sure to stop into your local Storm VIP Pro Shop and preorder your own GEM today for the March 11th release date!

The Hustle RIP features the same medium RG and low differential core everyone has loved and is wrapped in VTC solid. For anyone that wasn’t around when the first Hustles came out, this is basically a reincarnation of the original Hustle INK. The Hustle INK was made widely popular for the fact that is was basically a budget IQ Tour. For a ball that’s $100, you’re not going to find more performance!

The Idol Cosmos is the newest edition to the Idol line. It features the same core as all the previous Idol balls but is now wrapped in XtremeTrax pearl. For anyone that loved how the Idol pearl shaped but wished it has a little more teeth in oil or for someone that loved the OG but didn’t like how it shaped from farther left, look no further. The Idol Cosmos showcases the best of both worlds by providing enough control for the fresh but enough shape to allow you to open up a lane before going to quicker response balls. The Idol Cosmos for me will be fantastic on fresh house shots or a great three ball during a longer tournament block.

The Roto Grip Magic Gem is the newest HP4 ball to hit the SPI line. The Magic Gem features the MicroTrax hybrid cover that’s wrapped in the same Defiant LRG core that was featured in the GEM and Exotic before. The Magic Gem for me is the perfect step down from the original when I need slightly less traction and more overall shape. The Magic Gem is the perfect compliment to the Reality, being slightly cleaner and faster.

The Optimum Idol features the same MicroTrax solid and IKON core found in the OG, but now features the AI core technology. This bumps the differential up a couple of points and drops the RG as well. This provides a slightly earlier and more defined shape than the original. The Optimum for me fits right below my Summit and right above my Phaze II. The Optimum Idol Pearl (OIP) features the same IKON with AI core that was found in the Optimum Idol but is now wrapped in Micro Trax pearl. The OIP is a very strong, heavy rolling and fairly forward piece. The OIP continues the famous Idol name by providing a motion I personally haven’t seen out of any other Idol before. The OIP for me will be in play on the fresh/transition when the front part of the lane hooks too much for a stronger piece but I still need to control the friction downlane. The OIP features some pretty bright pink/purple swirls that will for sure catch anyones eye on the lanes!

Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the brand new Rotogrip RST-X3. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use everytime I step out onto the lanes and I Am Bowling for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on an unknown long pattern. This pattern feels medium volume and somewhere in the realm of 46-48’ in length. The X3 features the same RST core found in the previous two balls but is now wrapped in MicroTrax Hybrid. The MicroTrax hybrid cover on the X3 is two parts pearl and one part solid whereas on the X1 it was two parts solid and one part pearl. Where this may not sound like a huge difference, it’s very evident on the lanes. MicroTrax is a cover that responds very well to surface changes and has rolled well for me lane shined all the way down to 500. The X1 for me was a great ball to use when the lanes were cliffed but there wasn’t enough volume for some of the bigger and slower pieces. The X2 was night and days different from the X1. The X2 liked steep angles and tons of friction. The X3 falls perfectly in between the two and will bridge the massive gap perfectly. I see myself throwing the X3 a lot with a little bit of surface during league on the fresh or games 3-5 during a longer tournament block. Be sure to stop into your local Storm VIP pro shop and pre order your very own RST-X3 for the August 19th release!

I’ll be honest, I was a bit skeptical when It comes to asymmetric “urethane”. The Hot Cell was the last asymmetrical urethane option we offered, and it was very hit or miss for a lot of people. When I drilled my first UC3, it immediately surprised me. With having a much larger core than most urethane pieces, it wants to pick up and slow down from pretty much any part of the lane. The cover is also unique and provides a much different look when thrown against solid urethane balls (Pitch black and Fast pitch). Having a weaker cover and stronger core, the UC3 allows you to play a zone farther left as well as being enough ball to throw on a wide variety of patterns when the Pitch black might not be in play. I’ve been able to throw the UC3 on some higher ratio patterns and it’s been excellent at blending the friction as well as being able to throw it on the fresh on some harder patterns as well. I just drilled my second UC3 with a different layout and I can see a third in my future as well!

The Tour Dynam-X features a modified version of the Rubicon core and is wrapped in Tour Trax solid. The Dynam-X core is low RG, low differential and mildly asymmetric. The cover is a slightly modified version of what you would find on the Hustle line. These combine well together to give you a ball that produces a similar amount of overall traction to an !Q Tour but allows for infinite more drilling options. This is especially helpful for the no thumb players when choosing a layout. Be sure to get into your local Storm VIP Pro Shop and pre order your own for the 08/18/23 release!

The Ultimate Wrecker is Roto Grips newest HP2 line ball. The HP2 line has been lacking for some time now. Ive felt like the jumps from Hustles to IDOL/Rockstar hasn’t been bridged very well for a while. The Ultimate Wrecker features Pure Response Hybrid wrapped around the Wrecker AI core. This creates a very stable and moderately responsive ball. For me the Ultimate Wrecker has been the perfect game 3 house shot ball when I need to get farther left but still blend the massive cliff. The X-Cell features the same nucleus core that was found in all the previous cell series balls, but is now wrapped in ETrax Ultra Solid featuring the AI outer core tech. This produces a familiar shape but now more suited for today’s oils. Anyone that loved the original Hyper Cell should drill an X-Cell ASAP!

im a 2 handed bowler with an extremely high rev rate and a ball speed of around 19 mph. the 2fast is my go to ball when the lanes are dry or broken down after a game or 2. this ball clears the heads very easily and produces a consistent down lane reaction.

The Storm Absolute Power is the newest premier line release. The Absolute Power features the same sentinel core in the original Absolute but is now wrapped in R2S solid. The Absolute Power reminds me a lot of the CodeX and Alpha Crux which provided a lot of control with not a ton of traction. I can see myself throwing the Absolute Power after my Reality/GEM start to straighten out too quickly but balls like the Summit Peak/Phaze ll are still too quick.

The AllRoad features R2S hybrid nano technology wrapped around the proved inverted FE2 core. I pride myself on my ability to be honest when giving reviews. Luckily for me, 95% of what I drill matches up extremely well to my game. Unfortunately for me, the All Road is not one of them. I expected it to be much cleaner and faster down-lane than what it actually is. I drilled it with a weaker pin position and smaller Val angle to try and compliment the motion I expected out of it. What I found surprised me. It’s much earlier, stronger and slower to respond to friction. After filming this video, I actually plan on plugging and re drilling it with a stronger layout. What I do like a lot about this ball is it’s ability to accept a wide variety of surface changes. I was able to throw it with a fresh 1000 in the later part of a tournament with some success as well as 1000 + Step three to snap off a couple of league pots. When compared to the pro motion, the All Road is visibly cleaner through the front part of the lane and slightly straighter off of friction. I can see this ball being fantastic for straighter players that want to shut their angles down, or higher rev rate players that want to drill it stronger and be able to stay right for a longer duration of time. Hey everyone, this is Storm amateur staffer and turbo regional staffer Josh Shoemaker here with another ball review for the brand-new Storm Astro PhysiX. Before we begin, I want to thank Storm and Turbo for providing me with all the equipment I use every time I step on the lanes, and the Facebook page Storm and Rotogrip Bowling Balls for Sale for providing me with a platform to promote all of this great equipment. I recently decided to switch to 16lbs, so both balls featured in this video are indeed 16. The Astro features the same atomic core as the original physiX, but is now wrapped in R2S pearl. This produces a cleaner and faster response ball than the original physiX, while still retaining the great midlane control the original offered. For anyone that was a fan of the code black, you will fall in love with the Astro. The Astro produces a very unique motion that offers the best of both worlds. By using such a low friction cover, you get a ball that almost ignores the front part of the lane while still providing the asym torque needed to produce a consistent reaction downlane. I see myself using the Astro as a first ball out of my bag for league, or touching the surface and using it as 3rd out of the bag during longer tournament blocks. When compared to the Hyroad, the Astro is a zone earlier and a few more boards overall. With the Astro being asymmetric, it has a more defined hook zone and is slightly more continuous than the Hyroad. R2S is known for adapting to surface changes very well, so don’t be afraid to scuff the surface if you don’t like the reaction of the astro out of the box. Be sure to stop into your local storm VIP pro shop and pre order your very own Astro physiX today! #StormNation #Turbo

The Axiom is storms newest premier line nano based ball. The orbital core inside the Axiom is a low RG high differential core with a central ball shape. The ball ensures the Axiom transitions smoothly between its stages of precession without sacrificing continuation through the pins. This core is wrapped in a brand new formulation of cover called NEX which stands for nano extreme. This is currently storms earliest reading cover to date and definitely lives up to its name. When first throwing this ball, I got some serious marvel S vibes. It feels very similar with the exception of a little more midlane traction. When compared to the Phaze ll, the Axiom is a zone earlier and much higher friction. I can definitely see myself using the Axiom as a ball to blend heavier league conditions and fresh medium sport patterns. I can also see myself letting it lane shine and using it as a ball down from an Idol or Omega Crux. Make sure you head over to your local Storm VIP pro shop and order your very own Axiom today! #StormNation

The Axiom Pearl features the same low RG, high differential core found in the original Axiom but is now wrapped in NEX pearl. NEX pearl is Storm's latest rendition to its nano based covers. The design intent behind NEX was to enhance midlane traction without sacrificing downlane motion. This combination provides exactly what you want to see out of a stronger symmetrical ball. During the middle games of a tournament block, as soon as you are forced left it is important to keep a strong ball in your hands to control the midlane. The Axiom Pearl provides the midlane control needed with the energy retention required to get the ball through the pins properly. This ball reaction reminds me a lot of the SonIQ and Marvel Pearl which were both staples in my bag a few years back. When compared to the Axiom, the Axiom Pearl is 2 to 3 boards more overall and 2 to 3 feet later downlane. When thrown against the Hyroad, the Axiom Pearl provides much more traction and slows down much faster. Be sure to stop into your local Storm VIP pro shop and preorder your very own Axiom Pearl for the October 9th release!

After having a few months to throw the code black I am extremely impressed. With being a rev dominant bowler, it's often hard for me to throw asymmetric balls with strong covers during league. The code black with its weaker cover clears the fronts like nothing else, still revs up in the midlane, and produces a strong continuous backend motion. I've thrown mine in multiple houses on a few patterns and I'm very impressed. Huge winner here from storm! #StormNation

My Storm Code Red Review video is now live! I bowled three games while recording the clips for the review, and can't recall missing more then 2-3 times. This ball is going to be a staple in my bag, it's a little more overall then the OG, with more in the midlane. I noticed that when you missed in, the ball still read the pattern well enough to face up for a mixing strike. While the original was great for when the lanes had a good amount of friction on them, the Code Red will be great on fresher conditions when there is not as much friction on the lane. Then when needed you can ball down to the Code Black when the Code Red starts reading too early. I often have trouble getting higher end asymmetrical balls to go though the pins correctly because of my rev dominate style. The code red has no problem, with its weaker coverstock the ball allows me to play much straighter through the front part of the lane, while still retaining enough energy on the backend. It's everything the code black was missing, can't wait to get more games on it! #CodeRed #StormNation

The Code-X is storms newest premier line ball. The Code-X uses the same Rad-4 core found in all the previous Code series balls, but is now wrapped in R2S Solid. For anyone that was a fan of the Alpha Crux, this ball is a must have. It’s slightly cleaner, and a touch more downlane, but is by far the closest thing I have ever thrown to it. When compared to the IQTS, the Code-X provides similar traction front to back, but is much more in the midlane and slows down quicker due to the core being much stronger. I personally can see myself using this ball on fresh more difficult patterns, when controlling the front to back of the lane is a must. The crux prime features the same catalyst core found in the alpha crux and crux pearl, but is now wrapped in an all new solid cover featuring SPEC technology. When examining the design intent for SPEC, you can see that the cover is designed to maximize durability and longevity. Whereas it’s impossible to avoid lane shine all together, SPEC truly does maintain the maximum amount of friction to the lane as possible for an increased amount of time. For this review video, I decided to bowl on a fairly flat 44’ sport shot. For me personally, the crux prime will fit at the top end of my bag, used primarily as a ball for fresh tournament conditions. My immediate impressions of the crux prime were nothing short of spectacular. The ball really does form as suitable replacement for the alpha crux, where I truly believed we had a gap in the line for some time since the discontinuing of the alpha. The crux prime is extremely early, round and continuous making controlling the pocket on this moderately difficult pattern a breeze. When thrown next to the alpha, you can see that the prime forces me just a touch farther right due to it being slightly slower to respond to friction than the alpha. The physix however is a step down in terms of reaction, being much cleaner and quicker downlane. On this particular pattern, I was forced much farther left with the physix due to how much faster it is down lane. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and Logo Infusion for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a standard medium volume house shot. The Dark Code features the Rad 4 core found in all the previous code balls but is now wrapped in REX pearl. This direct quote from Storm explains the design intent behind the Dark Code. “Some bowling balls immediately sink their teeth into the lane in order to provide traction in oil. Others glide through the front part of the lane with ease, saving all their energy for an explosive backend reaction. But, what happens when you have a ball that’s capable of offering both?” What this boils down to is a high differential and lower RG core that wants stability as soon as you release it wrapped in a higher friction pearl cover. The REX cover takes the best characteristics of R2S, known for its longevity and versatility as well as a quicker response time from steeper angles; and combines it with the insane traction NEX produces. I’ve found that the Dark Code is truly the best of both worlds. I am able to trap the ball with closed angles and still have it slow down enough to blend the friction and with a small hand position I can open up my angles and allow the ball to respond faster off the friction once the pattern is more developed. I was able to use the Dark Code for the first time on a 47’ 3:1 sport pattern games 2-6 and it looked fantastic the whole time. Two days later in league I was able to throw it on our fresh house shot and started off with a spare then rattled off 14 in a row. When compared to the Parallax Effect, the Dark Code is a touch longer and more responsive down lane. Compared to the Axiom Pearl, the Dark Code is earlier and stronger overall. The storm Drive is the second ball in collaboration with Jason Belmonte in the signature line. The Drive features the same dual drive core found in the timeless, but is now wrapped in the R2S Nano cover. This provides the Drive with a greater amount of traction in the middle lane, while still having the ability to retain the most amount of energy through the pin deck. I see the Drive as fitting perfectly between the Sure Lock and Phaze ll, and the first ball out of the bag on tougher conditions. The Drive will also be a great option for lower rev rate or speed dominate players that want to see more overall motion out of a ball. The Electrify B/S/Y features the same low differential and medium RG circuit core found in all the previous versions and is wrapped in reactor pearl. This combo with a fresh new color scheme provides a smoother and controllable option on lighter to medium volume conditions. Hey everyone, this is storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the electrify hybrid. As always, I would like to thank storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and logo infusion for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a moderately beat up 42’ scorpion pattern. This pattern is extremely flat and will highlight the misses I have. The electrify hybrid features the hybrid reactor cover wrapped around the new circuit core. This core boasts an RG of 2.50 and Diff of 0.031 in #16 lbs respectively. It comes out of the box with storms signature 1500 grit polished finish. The Electrify line provides a great bridge between the hyroads and urethane. The weaker cover and medium RG/Diff provides a ball that will be easy through the front part of the lane but not be overly responsive to friction downlane. This line is essential for anyone that bowls in a higher friction setting. I was a big match up hybrid fan, and the electrify hybrid reminds me a lot of that. When compared to the hyroad, the electrify hybrid is a zone longer as well as a couple of boards weaker overall. For anyone interested, the electrify hybrid is available for purchase from your local storm VIP pro shop today!

The Fast Pitch features the Control XL solid cover wrapped around the tour block core. This cover resembles much of the same characteristics as the control solid cover found on the Pitch Black, but does so from a zone farther down the lane. This is accomplished by a series of additives in the cover that allow it to absorb oil at a very slow rate. Not nearly as fast as the Fever Pitch and Pitch Purple, but quicker than something like the Purple Hammer. This combined with a no filler core provides a shape and continuation matched by nothing on the current market. I was and still am a huge Fever Pitch fan. I’m currently on my 6th one, with two more stashed for later on. The one thing the Fever Pitch struggles with, is slowing down enough to use the first game of a block on a short pattern. The Fast Pitch utilizes the same core with a cover that provides more friction to use before I get into my Fever Pitches. When compared to the Pitch Black, the Fast Pitch is roughly as strong left to right but starts to precess 3 to 4 feet later than the Pitch Black. The Fast Pitch will be a great option for when you still need a urethane esq shape, but the Pitch Black is slowing down too fast to properly travel through the pins. Be sure to stop into your local Storm VIP pro shop and pre-order your very own Fast Pitch for the October 9th release!

The fever pitch features a brand new urethane esq cover called power plus control and is wrapped around a similar core to the Hyroad, but without the inner ball. This drastically drops the differential and raises the RG which in turn gets the ball a little farther down the lane while providing a strong motion off of friction. I drilled both my fever pitch and pitch black identical, 50x5x50, which for me puts the pin almost right above my bridge center. For this video, I decided to bowl on a very challenging almost completely flat 40’ sport shot. The topography on this pair allowed me to stand a little farther left than usual, and gave me a few boards to work with downlane. The fever pitch ignores the front part of the lane much better than typical urethane, while still maintaining a very round and continuous motion downlane. People that love urethane will most likely love the fever pitch, and people that absolutely hate urethane, will most likely not find a use for the fever in their bag. I can see myself using the fever pitch after my pitch black starts seeing the front part of the lane too much, and starts bailing downlane. Be sure to head to your local storm VIP pro shop and preorder your very own Storm Fever pitch today! #TeamStorm

The gravity evolve features the same core found in the original virtual gravity, but is now wrapped in SPEC technology. Anyone that knows me knows how much I love the SPEC cover. With the ultra slow absorption rate it has, I find that it is able to blend over under conditions extremely well. The cover itself is also extremely user friendly, as it doesn’t require nearly as much maintenance as other high end covers with faster absorption rates. The gravity evolve has been a staple in my bag ever since I drilled it on fresh medium - longer and higher volume patterns. I have also let it lane shine and used it a ton on over-walled house conditions. When compared to the pro motion, the gravity evolve is a few feet earlier and has a much slower response rate when it encounters friction. This allows you to stay closer to the track area longer and keep your angles shallower through the front part of the lane. Be sure to head to your local storm VIP pro shop and get your own gravity evolve today!

The Hyroad 40 is Storms newest thunder line release. The Hyroad 40 features there same Inverted FE2 core as the OG Hyroad. The Hyroad Max features the same proven FE2 core but is now wrapped in NEX solid. The FE2 core boasts an RG of 2.52 and differential of 0.058 in #16 respectively. The design intent behind this ball was to provide a similar amount of friction to the Axiom (being as they share the same cover) but from a zone farther down the lane. Anyone that knows me, knows that I’m always honest with what I think. Just because I’m on staff with Storm does not mean I love every ball I drill. That being said, I do not like what I see out of this ball so far. It’s cleaner than expected but much straighter off the end of the pattern than I would like. It’s strong enough to force me too far left too quickly but a little too forward to properly get through to pins. This combined with the color of the ball just doesn’t fit what my eye likes to see so far. I do plan on taking the surface up some and letting it lane shine to hopefully increase the friction response downlane. I see this ball being better for straighter players on higher volume/flatter patterns when they need to keep very closed angles. When compared to the original Hyroad, the Hyroad Max is earlier, rounder and straighter off the end of the pattern. The Hyroad Max is available for pre order today from any storm VIP pro shop!

As probably one of the most anticipated balls of 2017, the all new hy-road nano is set to release on December 1st. This all new hy-road has the same great proven engine that’s been in all its predecessors, but now is wrapped in the NRG coverstock. This provides a super clean ball reaction that will hook on the heaviest of oils. Personally for my game, the hy-roads and tours are staples in my bag. I have multiple of each with different layouts and surfaces. This hy-road will fit perfectly between my phaze ll and code red. Providing me just as much overall motion is the phase ll, with just a little cleaner ball reaction for when the fronts start to go, but the lanes aren’t quite transitioned enough for the code red to be in play. Be sure to pre-order your own hy-road nano now from your local pro shop for the December 1st release date! #StormNation

The Hyroad X features the R2X Solid cover, wrapped around the proven inverted FE2 core found on all of its predecessors. For this video, I decided to use a 41 foot challenge pattern, to give everyone a little bit of a different look. For anyone that knows me, the Hyroad has been a staple in my bag for as long as I can remember now. It’s one of the most consistent higher RG balls that I’ve been able to use on a variety of conditions, that never seems to run into any over under. So naturally, when the release of the Hyroad X was announced I got excited. I ended up knocking the shine off with a fresh 2000 pad, then going back over the surface with a fresh 4000 pad to add a little more of a higher grit finish to it. This allows the ball to see the pattern a little sooner than out of box, but still retain a lot of energy down lane. When compared to the original, you can see it provides a slightly rounder shape and a few more boards overall in terms of strength. I can see myself throwing the Hyroad X as a ball down from a Phaze ll or physiX during tournament play, or the first ball out of my bag during a variety of league conditions. The Incite features the brand new mildly asymmetric tensor core. The tensor core boasts an RG of 2.49 and differential of 0.051 with a PSA of 0.011 in #16 respectively. The core was designed similarly to the rondure core found in the Rubicon and Rubicon UC2. The design intent behind this was to mimic the displaced core mass you have when drilling a symmetric ball with a weight hole. This provides a stronger, smoother and more continuous ball motion without the need of an extra hole. The incite is also wrapped in this year’s formulation of R4S hybrid. When I first threw this ball, I felt like I was throwing a lane shined Omega Crux. It provided a medium to higher amount of friction with being less forward than the Omega. This ball has been a staple in my tournament bag the last month and provides a perfect ball down from an Omega Crux and Gravity Evolve when I need to open up my angles more through the front part of the lane. When compared to the Omega Crux, I found the Incite to be a touch cleaner, more responsive and create less friction overall. The Incite is available for pre order today from any Storm VIP pro shop!

The Storm Infinite Physix is the newest premier line release from Storm. The infinite shares the same core as all the previous Physix line balls but is now wrapped in REX Pearl. REX pearl was first featured on the Dark Code. The Dark Code has been a staple in my bag ever since I drilled it. The Infinite feels like it is a zone earlier and rounder overall compared to the Dark Code. If I need control on the fresh, Infinite. If I need steeper angles and more shape, Dark Code.

Ah, The storm Intense is finally here! The Intense has a modified version of the rad-x core found in the code series balls, and is wrapped in the R3S coverstock from SnapLock. This provides a slightly cleaner ball reaction then the SnapLock, but still super heavy forward rolling. This is by far the hardest hitting ball I’ve thrown to date, in my review video you can be multiple shots where the ball finishes in the 8 pin position. Out of box the Intense is going to be a great ball for a league bowlers, and tournament bowlers alike. After filming my review video, I knocked the shine off with a 2000 pad, and saw a much rounder shape. I like this motion much more then out of box, and plan to keep it like this. When I really need to get in and open up my angles, I still think that the code red is a slightly better option, but when I need to keep my angles tight on the fresh nothing will beat the Intense. The Intense is available for purchase now, be sure to head over to your local pro shop and get your very own today! #StormNation

The Intense Fire is storms newest release in the premier line. The Intense Fire uses the same RAD-E core found in the original intense, but is now wrapped around R3S hybrid. This produces a ball that is much sharper off of friction, but still utilizes the core to help read the midlane. I was not a huge fan of the original Intense, but I’m already in love with this ball. When compared to the code red, the Intense Fire is weaker overall but is faster off of friction. The code red is earlier and slower off of friction, therefore producing a rounder shape. I can see myself using the Intense Fire first out of the bag during league, and the transition games during a tournament. Be sure to preorder your own for the June 15th release date! #StormNation

The Ion Pro features the TX-16 hybrid cover wrapped around the brand new Element Tour AI core. This produces a very stable and versatile ball reaction that’s going to work for a wide variety of styles across all conditions. The Ion Pro reminds me a lot of my older IQ Tours with big weight holes. The increase in differential and cover strength over the OG IQ Tour makes the Ion Pro handle more oil and steeper angles through the front part of the lane.

My Name Card:
The !Q78-U is Storms replacement urethane piece in compliance with the new 78 hardness rule on the PBA tour. The !Q78 features the same C3 core found in all the !Q tour balls but is wrapped in control 78 urethane. This combination creates a ball that’s a little earlier, rounder and more forward than the Pitch Black. I drilled mine stronger so I can see more separation between the two. This is going to be a fantastic piece for shorter and medium sport patterns when you need to control the downlane motion on the fresh.

Hey everyone, this is Storm amateur staffer and turbo regional staffer Josh Shoemaker here with another ball review for the brand new Storm IQ tour emerald. Anything with the IQ name has been a staple in the storm line for years now. With how popular the IQ tour pearl was, it’s only fitting that storm brought back the same ball with an updated color. The emerald features the same R2S pearl cover as the original, as well as the same centripetal core. For this video, I decided to bowl on a house shot after a couple of league sets had been bowled. These lower friction balls love when the track is beat up a little bit, so you have a little room to throw them to. The emerald breezes through the heads and offers a firm but defined motion off the end of the pattern. I decided to venture off my usual layout for this ball, because of how similar it was to the gold ball. I was not a big fan of the original, so I put a stronger and slower response layout this time around. With the color change and layout tweak, I can pretty visibly see a difference from the original. The emerald fits right in between the original gold ball, and the tour 30. I can see myself using the emerald a ton on house shots, or towards the end of longer tournament blocks once the track area has developed. When compared to the hyroad, the emerald is a zone longer and a few boards less overall. Be sure to stop in to your local storm vip pro shop and preorder your very own today! #StormNation #Turbo

Hey everyone, this is storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here with another ball review for the IQ tour nano pearl. As always, I would like to thank storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and logo infusion for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a pretty standard medium volume 44’ house shot. The IQ tour nano pearl featured the proven C3 centripetal core found in all the previous IQ tour balls, but is now wrapped in a pearlized nano cover. Although this ball does have pearlized additives in the cover, is it far from your typical quick response ball. Many people have asked me what I compare it to and I have told them imagine you’re back in 2012 and just drilled your first IQ Tour. The nano additives in this version increase the overall traction and slow down the response time of standard R2S solid providing a very similar reaction to 2012 on today’s heavier oils. This produces an extremely user friendly, super controlled benchmark reaction that any league or tournament bowler will love. When compared to the IQ tour emerald, the IQ tour nano pearl is a zone earlier and much slower to respond to friction downlane. The IQ tour nano pearl is now available for purchase at any storm VIP pro shop today!

The Storm Journey is the newest ball in the signature series line. The Journey features the same F8 core found in the Fate but is now wrapped in TX-16 pearl. The Journey for me is earlier and rounder than the Fate. I see it as being a better option after my Summit starts to straighten out too quick but my Fate and Night Road are too quick.

The Level is Storms first ball released in the Lab series. The Level features the RPM cover wrapped around the Equalizer AI core. The RPM cover is marketed to be the fastest absorption cover that Storm currently offers. The RPM cover combined with the Equalizer AI core provides a very early, stable and controlled piece for shorter and flatter oil patterns. The Level for me will be a great option when I need a little more traction than my Pitch Black but balls like the Harsh Reality and Physix Blackout are too strong.

The Lightning Blackout is Storms newest signature line ball. The Lightning Blackout (LB) features the low differential, mid RG Warp AI core wrapped in REX pearl. This produces a stable, low flaring control option for lighter volume conditions. I see myself using the LB on lighter volume house shots or later in tournament blocks. The LB fits right on between an IQ Tour Ruby and Xponent Pearl.

The Match Up Black Pearl features the same specs found in the original match up pearl, but with a few key differences. The ball comes out of the box with a 2000 grit finish, and is almost solid black. When compared to the rest of the line, this ball is much earlier and rounder overall because of the lower grit finish. For anyone that is a fan of the Rotogrip IDOL, the motion I see out of the Match Up Black Pearl is almost a carbon copy from an arrow farther right. I see myself using the Match Up Black Pearl first out of the bag in league, or changing the surface to 2000 + Polish and using it at the end of a long Tournament block. I recently decided to switch to 16lbs, so both balls featured in this video are indeed 16. The match up line is a great median between the hyroads and hustles. The match up hybrid was by far my favorite match up produced, so I was excited when I heard they were bringing back the same cover with updated colors. I decided to change things up for this video, and ended up bowling on a house shot. I believe these match up thrive on higher friction surfaces/shots, so this was a no brainer. The Match Up BRB breezes through the heads almost effortlessly, and doesn’t stand up too hard off of friction. This is a shape that is completely essential in my bag. As many of you guys know, blending out overwalled shots is not my favorite thing to do. The match up is not overly aggressive, so I am able to throw it right into the friction without worrying about it seeing the spot too quick and going through the face. When compared to the hyroad, you can see that the match up offers a very familiar shape but is quite I bit cleaner through the fronts and faster to respond to friction downlane. When bowling on any shot, I believe that it’s most important to read the lane from front to back. Even though both the Match Up and Hyroad cover almost the same amount of boards left to right, when they see the lane is completely different. The matchup hybrid features the same stinger 2.0 core found in the matchup pearl and match up solid, but is now wrapped in the reactor hybrid cover. With the matchup balls having a lower differential (0.035), and a higher RG (2.57), this series is perfect for rev dominant players, or anyone looking for that third game league ball. The lower differential will keep the ball from flaring too much, and the higher RG will get the ball through the heads easily. I went with my usual 50x5x50 layout, which will compliment nicely with what I expected the ball to do out of the box. My matchup solid, with the 70x4x40 layout, produces an earlier and more continuous ball motion for the fresh. The matchup hybrid gives me the perfect option to take a step left and open up the lane more when the solid just refuses to make the corner. The matchup hybrid reminds me a lot of my Hyroad, with a very similar shape, just a few feet earlier. The matchup hybrid is now available for purchase, head to your local pro shop today! #StormNation

I bought the Match Up Solid with the intentions of replacing my rocketship. Me being a higher rev and speed player, I usually fall in love with medium strength pieces because they can be used on almost anything. This ball hasn't disappointed! I decided to go with my usual 70x40@4” layout I use on all my equipment that I want to be smoother. I've been bowling on a lot of flatter patterns lately, with lighter volume, and the higher end pieces have just been too much ball to get a constant reaction while still having good pin carry, whereas low end pieces are just too quick. The Match Up Solid fills that gap perfectly, giving me a nice smooth and round shape to the pocket, without sacrificing carry! Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the brand-new Nova. This lane had a ton of friction from leagues and open bowling but I decided to roll with it anyways. This will give everyone a good look of how the ball rolls on less than ideal conditions. The Nova features the ignition core which has an RG of 2.49, differential of 0.052 and intermediate split of 0.019 in 15 lbs. The ignition core is wrapped in R2X which is designed to fit right in between R2S and NRG. This is the first bigger cover and core asym I’ve drilled pin up since the Honey Badger Intensity. I wanted an option similar to my RST but more forward off the end of the pattern. Luckily, I guessed correctly and that’s exactly what I see out of this ball. I had a chance to throw it on a fresh league condition after filming this video and I was able to stand a zone farther right the first two games compared to where I normally play. Compared to the RST, the Nova is more forward off the end of the pattern and a touch cleaner overall. Compared to the Proton PhysiX, the Nova is a pretty substantial step down in terms of overall friction created and would be a great 2 ball off of the Proton. The Nova is available for pre order from any Storm VIP Pro shop for the January 14th release!

I’ve been patiently waiting to drill this ball as soon as I heard it was coming. It’s almost a spitting image in terms of ball reaction to the Alpha Crux. GI-20 is our newest formulation of high friction/slower response time cover. That wrapped around the proven catalyst core produce an extremely stable and readable ball reaction that doesn’t sacrifice any continuation. I decided to create a pretty lengthy review video that covers all the details of the ball. Please check it out below!

Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the Storm Parallax. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and logo infusion for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a standard 44’ house shot. The Parallax features a brand new core called the Aeroflo. The Aeroflo boasts an RG of 2.50 and differential of 0.052 with a PSA of 0.020 in #16. The core was created with a void through the lower portion of it. The design intent behind this was to mimic the displaced core mass you have when drilling a deep weight hole. This provides a stronger, smoother and more continuous ball motion without the need of an extra hole. The Parallax is also wrapped in a brand new cover called traction X7 hybrid. On the lanes traction X7 hybrid feels very similar to R3S hybrid with additional nano additives. When I first threw this ball, I got serious No Rules Pearl vibes. It provided that signature shiny Rotogrip asym reaction that compliments the Storm shiny asyms so well. This ball has been a staple in my tournament bag the last month and provides a perfect ball down from an Omega Crux and Gravity Evolve. When compared to the Omega Crux, I found the Parallax to be a touch cleaner and a little less overall. The Parallax is available for purchase today from any Storm VIP pro shop!

The Parallax Effect features the Aeroflo core found in the original Parallax but is now wrapped in traction X7 pearl. This direct quote from Storm explains the design intent behind Aeroflo. “The flip block coupled at the bottom ensures high total differential, but without the crucial cuts on the Y-axis, the intermediate differential would be just 0.007! The strategically positioned depressions on the Z-axis 6 3/4” from the pin mimic the effect of an extra hole in a similar space and keeps the intermediate differential at a more workable amount. Having a precise ratio of intermediate to total differential makes drilling less sensitive for drillers and provides a truer roll for bowlers.” What this boils down to is a core that mimics a ball with a weight hole while still legal within today’s rules! I find the Parallax Effect to be a fantastic option after my Honey Badger Intensity or Incite start to bail downlane due to the friction being created but the pattern isn’t defined enough for my UC2. When compared to the original Parallax, the Effect feels nothing like it. It’s much cleaner, sharper and faster downlane. Both Parallax’s would make a fantastic 1-2 league punch! Be sure to stop into your local Storm VIP Pro Shop and pre-order your very own Parallax Effect today!

The Phaze 4 (like the name insinuates) is the 4th generation Phaze ball. It features the same velocity core as the previous 3 domestically produced Phaze balls but is now wrapped in R2S pearl. I personally was a huge fan of the original Phaze. It offered a very heavy rolling and controllable medium friction option that rolled like nothing else we had in the line at that time. The second run of original Phaze were darker and more vibrant and were cleaner and faster downlane which seemed to fit more peoples eyes. Even so, I feel like it was very underutilized at the time. The Phaze 4 is a slightly catchier color scheme and is wrapped in our most responsive cover to date which will provide yet another very unique motion. The velocity core likes to stabilize extremely fast for a symmetrical core but since it’s wrapped in such a clean cover, it still wants to get farther downlane before using friction to slow down. This combo I believe will roll extremely well on lots of higher ratio conditions as well as games 5-8 in longer tournament blocks. When compared to the Dark Code, the Phaze 4 is much cleaner, weaker and more responsive off of friction. When compared to the Original Hyroad, the Phaze 4 is a touch earlier, stronger and slower to respond to friction downlane. Be sure to head into your local Storm VIP pro shop to pre order your very own Phaze 4 for the February 11th release!

The Phaze AI features the Velocity core found in all the previous Phaze balls but is now surrounded by AI tech and wrapped in TX-16 pearl. This produces the first stateside Phaze that is a true pearl version of the Phaze 2. The phaze lll features the same velocity core found in the first two generations but is now wrapped in R3S hybrid. Much like Luke said, R3S hybrid and R3S pearl feel like they were switched. R3S pearl on the snaplock and OG intense made both balls very early, round and continuous whereas R3S hybrid on the intense fire and now the phaze lll is very clean and quick to respond to friction downlane. The phaze lll is so clean and quick that I actually had to touch the surface lightly with a 500 pad to make it slow down enough to successfully throw on our house shot. I can see myself using the phaze lll after my pro motion or phaze ll, when I need to open up my angles more. Compared to the phaze ll, the phaze lll is a few feet cleaner and a couple boards more overall. Be sure to stop into your local storm VIP pro shop and pre order your very own phaze lll today!

The physiX has the never used before stateside NRG hybrid coverstock, and boasts the all new atomic core with an RG of 2.48 and diff of 053. This core will really help the ball see the lane sooner and blend those wet dry conditions you often run into during league and tournament play. I decided to structure this video a little differently, and used a 41’ challenge pattern to really highlight the misses (or lack thereof) for this ball. When compared to the Code X, the physiX is visibly 2-3’ earlier and a few more boards more overall. I can see the physiX as being the first ball out of my bag for many medium to longer patterns when the sure lock is a little too much ball and the Code x is too quick off of friction. Be sure to preorder your own for the October 19th release! #StormNation

I really wanted to wait a while to release this video to give myself adequate time with the promotion. Since drilling, I’ve put about 100 games on it and still continue to throw it all the time. SPEC is truly an amazing cover. With its ultra slow absorption rate, I find myself able to stay in the same piece for a longer duration of time. This combined with the lower RG and higher Diff core provide a very smooth and predictable motion without sacrificing continuation. Throwing it all three games of league or the middle chunk of a tournament block is never a problem. What really sets this ball apart from anything else on the currently market is it’s continuation through the pins. I honestly surprise myself with how continuous the ball is from every part of the lane. It somehow manages to strike a ton with steeper angles as well while still remaining very controllable. As you can see, we both decided to compare it to the Phaze ll. The phaze ll provides a slightly cleaner and faster look compared to the promotion.

Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the Proton Physix. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and Logo Infusion for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a standard medium volume 42’ house shot. The Proton Physix features the NEX solid nano based cover found on the Axiom, but is now wrapped around the atomic core. This core boasts an RG of 2.48, Diff of 0.054 and intermediate of 0.017 in #16 lbs respectively. This is the same core that was found in the original Physix and Astro Physix. The Proton comes out of the box with a 3000 matte finish. I fell in love with the original Physix right after drilling it. It was one of my favorite mild asymmetric balls with a medium strength cover that seems like it was always in play. When the Proton was announced to our staff team, I immediately got excited. I was hoping that the stronger NEX cover would retain the amount of shape I saw out of the original Physix on heavier volumes of oil. So far, the Proton hasn’t disappointed. Balls like the Sure Lock and No Rules were staples in my bag for when I needed to open up the lane on heavier house shots or higher volume sport patterns. The Proton allows me to open up my angles when the pattern starts to develop and give away the pocket without sacrificing optimal deflection through the pins. I can see myself hitting the Proton with a fresh 1000 pad and using it on higher volume fresh patterns or letting it lane shine and using it during league to blend the high ratio pattern. When compared to the Omega Crux, the Proton Physix slows down faster and is more continuous downlane as opposed to the Omega Crux being straighter off the end of the pattern. The Road Warrior features the same core specs as the OG Road but is now covered in R2S Deep Pearl and finished with Power Edge. This creates a cleaner and sharper shape than the original without sacrificing the traits that remind us all of the OG Hyroad. Perfect for the bottom or your tournament or house shot bag!

The SonIQ uses the brand new centripetal HD core, wrapped in the proven R2S Pearl coverstock (commonly known for being on the IQTP and IQ30). This new core provides a much higher flaring ball then the previous IQ’s, while still retaining maximum energy through the pins. I can see this ball first out of my bag during league, and a great transition piece during tournaments. The sonIQ is going to be the perfect median between the Code Red and Hyroad. Be sure to head over to your local pro shop today and place your pre-order for the February 9th release date! #StormNation

Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the brand new Spectre. This lane had a ton of friction from leagues and open bowling but I decided to roll with it anyways. This will give everyone a good look of how the ball rolls on less than ideal conditions. The Spectre features the brand new vector core. The vector core features an RG of 2.54 and diff of 0.050 in 15 lbs. This core was designed to bridge the gap between lower RG symmetrical options like the Trend 2 or Phaze 3 and the beloved Hyroads. Wrapped in R3S pearl, the Spectre is capable of creating a lot of traction chemically to help blend the lane out front to back when you still need a cleaner option. I decided to drill my Spectre with the same layout as my Trend 2. It’s no secret that I haven’t used a ton of symmetrical balls as of late. I feel as though with the current SPI line of asyms, we have a ton of options for 95% of lane conditions. I still occasionally need a ball with a smaller core option, so a ball like the Spectre is a must have for late in the block or higher friction surfaces. When compared to the Hyroad, the Spectre is a little earlier and stronger overall. Preorder your very own Spectre from any Storm VIP pro shop for the January 14th release!

The Summit features the brand new TX-23 hybrid cover wrapped around the modified Centripetal HD core. This combo produces the lowest RG and highest differential Storm ball to date. Ever since I’ve drilled the Summit, I haven’t been able to put it down. It’s giving me the Phaze ll shape that everyone has come to love on higher volumes of oil. The Summit isn’t just a one trick pony, I’ve been able to go very straight with it on higher volume longer patterns as well as being able to shape it on medium conditions. The Summit is now available at any Storm VIP Pro Shop!

The Summit Ascent features the same centripetal HD AI core found in the previous Summit balls but is now wrapped in R2S solid. The Ascent is a ball that I feel the Storm line has been lacking for a long time. Back when the SonIQ was released, I was looking forward to an R2S solid version that unfortunately never came. With the Ascent, that wish was finally granted. The Ascent features the perfect amount of strength, control and responsiveness that will come in handy on a wide variety of conditions.

The Storm Summit Peak is the newest release in the Summit line. The Summit Peak features the same Centripetal HD found in the original Summit but is now wrapped in TX-23 pearl. The Summit Peak is the perfect complement to the Summit. The Summit Peak preserves all the traction the OG provided but moves it a zone farther down the lane. The Summit Peak has been my go to 3 ball in league/tournaments and is the perfect ball before my UFO Alert/Hyroad.

The super SoniQ features the same centripetal HD core found in the original SoniQ, but it now wrapped in an NRG hybrid cover. This allows for the super SoniQ to create a little more traction in the front part of the lane, blending out harder shots a little better. I was a big fan of the original SoniQ, but thought it was a little under powered due to how weak the cover was. I drilled both my Super SoniQ and SoniQ identical, 50x5x50, which for me puts the pin almost right above my bridge center. For this video, I decided to bowl on a very challenging almost completely flat 40’ sport shot. The topography on this pair allowed me to stand a little farther left than usual, and gave me a few boards to work with downlane. Since the middle part of this pattern is so flat, I really had to focus on not hitting up on the ball as much as usual. The super SoniQ blends out this fresh condition very well, giving me a few boards downlane to hit while still striking. When compared to the SoniQ, the super is 2-3 birds stronger, and a few feet earlier downlane. Be sure to head to your local storm VIP pro shop and preorder your very own storm super SoniQ today! #StormNation

I was able to shoot 754 out of the box with the all new Storm Sure Lock. Had the front 9 game one, and some help game 3 with the timeless (man is that ball good). Went with something a little different, 50x5.25x55, and shined it to get it to clear the heads. Also made a grip change, dropping my ring finger 3/8 of an inch, which in turn changed my pap/track greatly, allowing me to drill a "thumb" in the "normal" spot without tracking it. Everything is set up new on this ball. My home center usually doesn't allow me to use anything stronger than a iq tour or timeless, but the sure lock cleared the heads nicely, picked up the midlane and had a smooth continuous motion into the pocket. Can't wait to get this ball on some longer higher volume patterns with some surface to really see what it can do! #StormNation

The Road is Storms newest thunder line release. The Road features the same FE2 core found in all the previous Hyroad series balls, but in now wrapped in the AI outer core tech. This drops the RG and Diff 2 points each while still maintaining that signature Hyroad motion they have all been known for. The Road is also wrapped in REX hybrid. The Road for me fits right in-between the Hyroad and Phaze II. The Road for me is going to be the perfect league ball for blending the wet/dry conditions as well as something I can go to later in the day for tournaments.

After having a month to throw the timeless it has quickly become one of my favorites in my bag. The ball clears the heads nicely, reads the midlane perfectly, with that strong storm signature backend. Mine goes though the pins harder than any other symmetrical ball I have thrown to this date. I've had the opportunity to throw this ball in 3 different houses, on three different shots, and have averaged just over 245 with it. HUGE winner from storm here, can't wait to post even more big scores with it! #StormNation

Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here with another ball review for the Storm Trend. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and logo infusion for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a standard 44’ house shot. The Trend is the latest Storm and Jason Belmonte collaboration. It features the same piston weight block found in the Promotion but is now wrapped in R2S pearl. The Trend comes out of the box with Storms signature 1500 grit polished finish. The Promotion was known for its super slow response time with having a SPEC cover. The Trend is at the complete other end of the spectrum and provides a much cleaner and faster response to friction. Although the core/cover is very similar to a Hyroad pearl, I find the Trend to be a littler earlier and straighter off the end of the pattern. When compared to the OG Hyroad, the Trend is slightly straighter off the end of the pattern as well as being a touch weaker overall. The Trend is now available for purchase from any Storm VIP pro shop!

The Trend 2 is the 5th signature line ball produced by Storm in collaboration with Jason Belmonte. It features a modified piston block that was originally in the Pro Motion and Trend. This new block has a significantly lower differential and higher RG which in combined with the NRG hybrid cover produces significantly more down lane shape than the original Trend. I personally was not a big fan of the Trend, the R2S pearl cover was too quick/low friction to play really straight but as soon as I tried to chase it left, it wanted to go too forward off the end of the pattern due to how much the piston block wants to get into a roll. I see absolutely none of these problems out of the Trend 2. The first night of using it in this center, I managed to snag a couple of pot games and the eliminator win. Since then, it’s become a staple in my league bag for game 3 and has paid for itself multiple times over. When compared to the Axiom Pearl, the Trend 2 is a quite a bit cleaner and sharper off the end of the pattern. I could see myself going to the Trend 2 when I need to jump a zone left after the Axiom Pearl starts slowing down too quickly. When compared to the Hyroad, the Trend 2 is a touch earlier and rounder off the end of the pattern. The Trend 2 is now available for purchase in your local Storm VIP pro shop!

The Typhoon is Storms newest hot line bowling ball. The Typhoon features the Atmos AI core wrapped in Reactor pearl. This creates a motion that perfectly bridges the gap between the Zen 25/!Q Tour and the Hustles/Tropicals. The Typhoon reminds me a lot of the old school Storm reaction. The Typhoon feels almost like a carbon copy of the 2Fast which just so happens to be the first ever Storm ball I drilled!

The Storm Virtual Energy Blackout is Storms newest premier line pearl asym. The VEBO combines one of my all time favorite covers, REX pearl, with one of the best cores ever produced. I was a huge fan of the Dark Code from a few years back and ever since that ball was discontinued, I’ve been missing that shape from my bag. The VEBO is the perfect replacement piece and has been my go-to #2 ball for the last couple of months.
