The new ball in 900 Global line is the Altered Reality. I absolutely love the original Reality. Which was a huge success on PBA tour and bowlers throughout the country.
Altered is the pearl version with the S84 coverstock. I drilled mine with a pin down 5 inch pin from PAP. Man this ball likes friction and this ball might be the strongest off the spot ball I've drilled for along time. The Altered is just a very good ball period.
I have drilled a bunch of Altered's in the shop for all different styles. No matter what your style or rev rate this ball just seems to kick the ten out better than a lot of big balls i've seen in awhile. So drill up one of hottest balls out there.

The New Asymmetrical Pearl in the 900 Global line is the Eternity Pearl. The Eternity Pearl is a replacement for the Altered Reality that was part of the USBC hardness issue.
I drilled my Eternity Pearl pin up with a 4 1/2 x 4 x 2 layout. I also hit the surface with a 500/1000 pads and added Storm Step 2. Reacta Gloss really doesnt match up with my ball roll. Step 2 has always been very consistent for me. Compared to the Altered the Eternity Pearl is a little cleaner and doesnt get as forward coming out of the midlane and back like the Altered did. Eternity has more shape downlane.
So when the bigger solid Asyms start to labor a little like the Gem or Reality the Eternity Pearl is very good option. At my shop I suggest for bowlers to just pick their favorite drilling on this one as I think its that good of a ball. All of my customers really like the motion. I like it also and it just seems to carry very well with keeping the pins low. Great addition for the 900 Global line!

The addition to the 900 Global line is the Eternity PI. It comes with the Epoch Asymmetric Core from the original Eternity with the ALL-NEW Reserve Blend 901 Cover. I drilled mine with a 3 x 6 x 2 layout. First impressions was wow this ball is strong!. The solid cover really allows the PI to dig in early and keep going. I needed something to bowl on the short and or flatter patterns. I added some Storm step 2 to the surface to give me a little more length for my medium speed. I have had the most success on the shorter sport patterns of lengths less than 40ft. It gave me that heavy roll and control especially on when the backends are very clean. I can also use it on house or the medium to long patterns, but I need to hit the cover with 1000-2000 abralon pad. Very versatile ball.
Its right up with other big asymmetrical the Reality, Gem's, Nova's. But the PI is has a little unique ball motion. For me the PI carries real well also in keeping the pins low.
The PI is above the Phaze II , Zens and TNT line and maybe not as early as the Gems but just as strong just a little different ball motion.

The New ball in the 900 Global line is the Harsh Reality. The Harsh comes with the new A.I. technology and strong solid coverstock. The original Reality is my favorite 900 Global ball ever. So I drilled the Harsh the same way, pin down 4.5x 4 x 4.5 pin down. The original Reality was a little clean and more response down lane for a Asymmetrical Solid. So the Harsh has stronger solid cover which is about 1 foot earlier and thus a little less on the backend. The Harsh is the strongest ball in the line. I have used the Harsh on house shots but usually only get 1 game out of it before it forces me too far left. On the longer sport patterns is where I see myself using the Harsh the most. Harsh is good ball for higher speed players as it will help the ball slow
down and react sooner. Great addition to the 900 Global Line.

The Harsh Reality Pearl is the Pearl version of the original Harsh Reality. Also the 4th ball with the Disturbance Asymmetric Core. Plus with the addition the A.I Technology. I drilled mine pin down 4.5x.4.x4 and added Storm Step 2 to the cover. I personally have the HRP obviously a little cleaner than original HR with the pearl cover. But I really think the Harsh Reality's are pretty early rolling bowling balls. Thus pretty slow response down lane. I have drilled a few in the shop for bowlers with lower rev rate or faster ball speeds. They have had great success and really good ball motion. With my unique roll the HRP is a little conditional at times. But I can use the HRP on the flatter sport patterns to help control the pattern with the smoother overall ball motion. The HRP is still beneath the Ion Max and the RG Gems. But above the Phaze 2 and Idol series balls.

The new ball from 900 Global is the Honey Badger Intensity.
I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 3 which puts the pin in the middle finger. The Intensity was a huge hit at our match makers on our normal house shot. The Intensity for me is between the rubicon and a UC2. Clean for an asymmetrical ball but not a responsive as a UC2. Maybe like a beefed up IQ tour. Below the Global Reality but stronger than the Zen. Very predictable. Many styles like the Intensity, as the cover stock makes this ball in my opinion.

The new 900 Global ball is the Reality. Global' s new big ball, with an asymmetrical core (Disturbance Core) with a solid cover (S84 Response). The Reality has been a huge hit with bowlers at our Storm Matchmakers and has been a top seller for 900 Global! I drilled mine with a 5 inch pin down drilling and added some Storm polish on it. Usually the big Asymms I have a hard time using with my roll, but this Reality with the polish added I was able to use it on multiple patterns including house. very versatile ball for a big ball. I have it under a Proton and stronger than an Axiom.
For me its not as early and has a very round shape downlane. Just drill it with your favorite drilling!

Great ball from 900 Global

The new 900 Global ball release is the Reality Check. My favorite 900 Global ball of all time for me is the Reality. So when they released the Reality Check with a Hybird cover I couldn't wait till drill it. The Hybird cover is 2 part solid and 1 part pearl. I drilled the first one pin down with a 5 inch pin. Very smooth and predictable reaction for me. Its a couple feet longer than the original Reality as far as length. Also way slower response than the Altered Reality. So to me its a perfect fit in the line.
I've been able to use on house and sport patterns with very good success. Its below the Reality and a RG Gem but stronger than a Phaze 2 or a Wolverine Dark Moss.
I have drilled several Reality Checks in my shop for multiple different styles.
Very good addition to the 900 Global Line.

The new ball from 900 Global is the Sublime. The Sublime is the first 900 Global ball to use the new AI technology. Also using all new Core and new Reserve Blend 802 hybrid Cover. I drilled mine 4.25 x 4 x 2 pin up. This ball is very good, and matches up with my ball roll real well. I find the reaction as a little early and a little downlane. Just what you would think from an Hybird cover. The Sublime is a little forward rolling for me off of the breakpoint for me. But it carries unbelievable for me on house shots and medium Sport patterns. (AI helps) I have drilled several for customers at the shop, 2 handers, tweeners and down and in players. All like the reaction, its just different roll but in a very good way. They all mentioned to me its a unique roll. Something fits very well in any bowlers arsenal.

The new 900 Global ball is the Wolverine which features the Lacerate 2.0 core with S70 Pearl Reactive coverstock. I drilled mine with a 5 inch pin down under my middle finger. My first impressions were wow that's a lot of backend motion! With the fresh cover I had to cut it with 3000 pad to help slow it down. I compared the Wolverine to the Storm Hyroad Pearl with just a little more midlane motion. 900 Global is making some really good bowling balls these days and the Wolverine is definitely one of them.
I have drilled a handful of them at my shop. From Low rev to high rev players. Both have had great success with the Wolverine, mainly in the 2nd, 3rd game and in later blocks of tournaments when they need to get left. Great ball for 900 Global.

The new addition to the 900 Global line is the Wolverine Dark Moss. This is the original Wolverine replacement. 900 Global used the same core but used a different color of S70 Pearl Coverstock (Green). I thought the original Wolverine was a little flippy. I drilled mine 5 x 3 x 2 pin above my middle finger. I added a little 2000 pad to the surface. I have the Dark Moss a little earlier and more rounded on the backend. It has been a great ball to combat the wet/dry lane conditions. Even with the more rounded backend the Dark Moss can still be used when playing the deeper inside angles. Very Continuous motion. When the earlier and stronger balls like Zen, Phaze 2, reality check start to bog down the Dark Moss is perfect ball to transition to.

900 Global Xponent
Layout: 4.25 x 4 x 2 Storm Pin Buffer Layout
Rev Rate: 400 RPM, 17 axis tilt, MPH 16-17
Testing information: 42 foot THS (medium to light volume), Kegel Dick Weber
Bowling Center: Emerson Lanes Pike Street Lanes
Kegel Machine – Brunswick Pro Anvilane

The new 900 Global ball is the Xponent, comes with the Shrapnel 2.0 core is brought back in from the Ordnance series think C-4. They added a new coverstock (Batch #701 solid reactive) With the new coverstock I notice right away that the Xponent would be a very good benchmark ball. Very controllable and stays online. On the Dick Weber pattern where the fronts started to hook a little and the Summit was starting to bog down and flat 10. The Xponent was a perfect ball to go to. It gave me the extra length I needed and energy at the pins. Its a little on the slow side as far response wise, but still carries well.
On the house pattern when I kept the surface around 2000-3000 I could use it on the fresh and play a little further right with good success. I can see this ball being a good ball on fresh to control the backs a little. Or in the later blocks when you need something to stay online or a little more length than the bigger bowling balls. I have the Xponent above the IQ line, and below the Summit/Phaze 2. Great addition to the 900 Global Line!

The new ball from 900 Global is the Zen 25. This is the 2nd generation of the one of 900 Global best sellers ever the original Zen. The Zen 25 added with A.I technology and the new RB 83 Pearl Reactive Coverstock.
The original Zen was just okay ball for me, as it had a tendency to go forward for me with my ball roll. With the new coverstock on the RB 83 which is cleaner for me and gives me better motion down lane. I drilled mine with a 4.5 inch pin up. Zen 25 is going to be a better option for me. I have used the Zen 25 on house and the medium sport patterns. I have it below the Idol and summit ascent and above the RG Hustle's and IQ's. The Zen 25 should be a big hit with the great colors and good medium ball motion that it provides.

The new ball release from 900 Global is the Zen Gold Label. Using the same Meditate core but using the New Reserve Blend 901 pearl coverstock. I drilled mine with a 4 1/2 pin, pin above fingers. I was only one of the few who just thought the original Zen ball was just okay. For me the Zen was early had a lot of midlane to the ball motion. Which with my roll it was conditional for me. But with the new pearl cover, the Gold label is much cleaner and responsive down lane for me. I have tried the Gold Label out on a couple sport patterns and the typical house shot. Our centers have 20+ old Brunswick Pro Anvil lanes. On 45 ft Sport shot with lower volume, I started with my Storm Summit on the fresh, after about a game and half the Summit start to bog down to much to get the ten out, so I switched to the Gold Label and it was a perfect fit. As it was able to to get down lane easier and store the needed energy to get the 10 out.
On the house shot I actually had to move a good amount to the right with feet and target as it was just too clean on the fresh. But was able to chase it left once the heads broke down a little. Then that is where the Gold label really shined the most. Gave me a lot of miss room downlane.
I have drilled 3-4 of the Gold labels for customers, and all are really surprised with
the amount of backend the Gold label has, especially compared to the original Zen.

The Gold label has also been #1 at most of the Storm Match makers that we have held so far. This ball is going to be a top seller period its that good!

The Zen Master is 2nd Zen ball from 900 Global. The Zen was and still a huge hit among bowlers. So they created the Zen Master. I drilled mine with a 5 inch pin down.
To me the zen core (Meditate Symmetric) is a little early rolling for me. So with the stronger cover is why I decided to drill mine pin down.
The Zen Master does roll early for me and has a slow response to the friction down lane. Which is a good thing for when your wanting to keep your angles a little closed and play up the lane and to control the backs when they are really clean.
The Zen Master does remind me a little of the Phaze II but with a little less backend motion. I can see the Zen Master working well for the tougher lane patterns and the shorter patterns where you need control. High rev guys and 2 handers would also like the motion from the Zen Master as it shouldn't over bounce off the dry.

The new Urethane ball in the 900 Global line is the Zen U. I drilled mine with a 4 inch pin, pin up. 4 x 4 x 2. As a SPI staffer I really felt like there was a gap between the Storm Pitch Black and the RG UC3. As the pitch black was pretty early, and slow response down lane. The UC3 has an asymmetrical core is really strong downlane. So thanks to the R&D at Storm the Zen U fits right in the middle. As it has a symmetrical core with a modern day urethane cover. So the Zen U has some very good motion downlane. Its not a lot but for urethane it is. So we actually have some shape downlane with a urethane ball. This is a great addition to the line!

The new addition to the Roto Grip HP2 line is the All Out Show Off. It is the Hybird version on the popular original Show Off. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 4.5 similar to the Show OFF. The All Out is a perfect compliment to the Show Off, as when the Show Off starts to labor too much in the midlane then it is time to switch to the All Out.
With the shiny Hybird Stoked cover the All Out gets down the lane much cleaner and has a quicker response to the friction. The good thing is though that the All Out still keeps the same hitting power through the pins as the original. Very good 1-2 punch out of the HP2 line from Roto Grip. We probably drilled close to 20 of the original Show Off as it was that popular. So I expect the same from the All Out Show Off.

The Asylum gives me good midlane roll with a real smooth roll of the spot, not flippy at all. Really impressed with how predictable and controllable this ball rolls.
Not as early as the RG Disturbed or as angular as RG Deranged can be.
I also like that when the lane transition, the Asylum doesn't over bounce on the dry and big 4 or skid too far and 2-8-10. Another great ball from Utah.

The new Roto Grip HP4 ball is Attention Star which comes with the Momentus AV core with A.I. technology wrapped in the eTrax Plus pearl reactive coverstock. I drilled mine 4.25 x 4 x 2. Pin up. Personally the Reacta Gloss just doesn't match up with my ball roll. So I used 1000 pad to take it off then added Storm step 2. To be totally honest it took me a while to figure out the Attention Star. It is a unique motion for me. It is very very clean through the fronts even with such a big asymmetrical core. I have used the Star on our modified house patterns, 44ft and 46ft. I ended up taking a light 2000 Abralon pad to the surface to help the reaction. That helped get it started up a little earlier which blended out the pattern real well. I have also used the Star on Kegel sport patterns, even on the shorter lengths 39 and 40 ft. The big core takes over and gets real forward but continuous through the pins. Very impressive on how versatile and how the Attention Star goes through the pins.
Great looking ball also for shelf appeal! Great Addition to RG Line!

Likes: Steve Kloemken layed this ball out for me while bowling at the TAT in Las Vegas. I was close but just needed something a little more controllable that would still get through the fronts. So I drilled a the bandit 40 x 4.25 x 60*. Which ended up pin in the middle finger and CG kicked out and a low hole. This ball was da bomb, as I shoot 737 and led my squad and made the finals The bandit gave the control that I was looking for and the roll of the spot. This reaction also gave me about 3-5 boards at the breakpoint to strike. Thanks Steve.

I used the ball on this years USBC pattern practicing at home center, and I added some Step 2 to the Bandit and had a great look going from 11-7.
Very Good ball especially for the price point.

Berserk 60 x 5 .25 x 70
The Berserk is the replacement for the Nomad Dagger. The Berserk uses the same Caliber Core found in the Outlaw and Bandit, but uses the 65MH Hybrid Reactive coverstock. When the Outlaw reads too early or the Bandit goes too long the Berserk fits in perfect.
I drilled my with a little weaker pin as I wanted to use for league this year. The 4000 abralon finish was a little too much for our league shot as it started to labor down lane. So I applied
Storm Reacta-Shine to the coverstock. This was what the ball needed, as I could open the lane up and create good angle to carry.
The Berserk gave me good strong angle off the spot, with a heavy roll through the pins which produced great pin carry.
The Berserk gives you a lot of hook potential for the HP3 line.

The new ball in the RG HP4 line is the Clone. The Clone is kind of the replacement of the UFO Alert. I drilled mine standard pin up 4.5 x 5 x 2 layout. I also took a 1000 abralon pad and added Step 2 to the cover. I have bowled with the clone on a couple sport patterns and house. The Clone is a polished solid and with a strong asymmetrical core. For me the Clone is controllable and pretty good on the sport patterns. It allowed me to keep the ball in play and on line for the most part. The backend reaction is a smooth arcing motion for me. Think a stronger TNT roll, or a cleaner more tip down lane than a Exotic Gem. For the house shot it was just okay for me and my roll, it didn't give me a lot of miss room as you normally have on a house shot. For my game it is kind a of niche ball, when it matches up its real good and when it doesn't there is just better choices for me. For the sport patterns, it was a good ball to go to when the reality's and gem's start to bog down a little.
But is definately stronger than say a Phaze II or Summit. I can see the guys that play a little straighter through the fronts really like the Clone.
Good Addition to the RG line!

The new addition to the RG HP3 line is the Critical. An Asymmetrical Hybrid.
I drilled mine fairly strong, 4 x 4 x 2 1/4 pin up and added Storm Reacta Shine.
I'm able to use it during league as long as stay in the puddle. Works well on the medium sport patterns. Critical revs up fairly quick with decent midlane and arcing motion on the backend. It is a nice ball down from the stronger Asymmetricals in the Roto line, like Hyper, Eternal and Skid. The Critical has been a very popular choice among the bowlers at the Storm Matchmakers that we have run recently.

The new addition to the HP3 line from Roto Grip is the Dare Devil. A strong low RG pearl with a medium differential. I drilled mine with a little weaker layout, 5.25 x 5.25 x 2. This ball hooks a lot for symmetrical pearl. Similar motion to the Haywire but much cleaner through the fronts with the pearl cover. Most of the bowlers who through

the Dare Devil in the matchmakers were very surprised with the amount of hook and backend. Dare Devil is great addition to the Roto Grip line. It will fits all styles of bowlers.

The new ball in the Roto Grip HP3 line is the Dare Devil Trick. DD Trick uses the same
core as original but wrapped with the Reckless Solid Coverstock. I drilled mine 5 x 5 x 4 .5 or 60 x 4.5 x 64 pin down. I added step 2 to cover, and the DD Trick gave me good overall hook but a much slower response to the friction. Very controllable and predictable motion. The original at times would go sideways when it saw friction. The Trick has more hook up front which allows it to handle more oil. The Trick is a great compliment to the original Dare Devil.

COMMENTS
Likes: The Defiant was very clean through the fronts for a strong Asymmetrical Ball. But it has very good mid-lane read and doesn't squirt through the break-point. The Defiant showed its strength on our house shot when the backs very not very clean and had some carrydown. The ball didn't wiggle down lane like some balls would. We have over a 100 units of oil in the middle part of our house shot and defiant cut right through it and had a strong arcing motion on the back. Feedback from our customers was that they were amazed with the great carry they got from the Defiant.
This ball is will fit all styles of bowlers as the coverstock is very versatile. Along with the ball being driller friendly.
The high rev bowlers will have to add step 2 or some light polish.

Compared to Virtual Gravity Nano, the Defiant is cleaner through the fronts and has a little more backend motion.
Defiant is another great product from Storm/Roto Grip Family.

The Defiant Edge is the Pearl Version of the original Defiant. The Edge does what it was intended to do, cleaner through the fronts and more reaction on the backend.
So when you start to see the Defiant start to labor or flat 10 down lane, don’t hesitant going to the Defiant Edge. I’ve bowled with the Edge in our Kegel Summer league and I was very impressed as I was able to use the Edge on most of the patterns, which is pretty good for an asymmetrical ball. I normally can’t use a strong Asymmetrical ball as they don’t make up with my roll and axis tilt. The Edge gave me what I was missing , a strong rolling pearl with control. A very good 1-2 punch from Roto Grip.

The Roto Grip Deranged is the Pearl version of the very popular and successful Disturbed. I drilled the Deranged 4.5 x 3.5 x 3.5, the pin ended up in my middle finger.
My PAP is 4 up 1 1/4. The deranged is very good compliment to disturbed, clean through fronts and strong arcing motion at the breakpoint. This ball has similar ball motion to the Storm Gold IQ Tour Pearl, but it is stronger off of the spot and harder off the friction. I have used it on league patterns, and Kegel's Mexico City. On the sport pattern I was very impressed how it handle the larger volume of oil with the factory surface. Still had plenty of hitting power at the back. The Deranged also has great looking colors for good shelve appeal.
Another great ball from Roto Grip!

The Devour is the new ball in the RG HP2 line. I really liked the Outcry, so I was glad to see RG come out with a solid in that line. I drilled mine 5 1/4 x 4 x 4 1/2 pin down.
I first tried the Devour on a couple Kegel patterns, with the weaker pin the ball just wasn't enough with original surface. I hit it with a 1000 pad and it gave me the extra help that I was looking for. Very smooth and predictable roll. Then I sanded it to 3000 and then applied Storm Polish to use in league. Our league shot is a little on the dry side, especially with a very defined track area. I shoot 279-289-212 first night in league. The ball gave good midlane roll and very good continuation downlane. The Devour had great carry. I would compared it to Storm IQ Tour, with a little less overall hook potential. I was able to go up the lane and also move in and go around it when they dried out. Great addition to the RG HP2 line!

The Roto Grip Duo is the new ball in the HP3 line. Duo features the new low RG symmetric Mentor core. Which is wrapped with the MicroTrax Pearl cover, which is the same coverstock as the Exotic Gem. I drilled mine with a 4.5x4x2 layout. I tested the Duo on an 20+ year old Brunswick Pro Anvil lanes, on house shot and a couple medium patterns. The Duo gets through the fronts pretty good and has a lot midlane rolly shape for me and can get a little forward at times if there isn't enough oil. I can see me using the Duo on the fresh to blend out the backends. Plus I can use the Duo on the short patterns like Cheetah, to control the overall shape of the pattern.
I think Duo is going to be good for the average league bowler as it can handle the miss lefts in the puddle and the miss rights to the dry and it doesn't over bounce. Duo is a good ball down from the Gem's or reality. Cleaner than a Phaze 2 or TNT.
Overall the Duo is a strong symmetrical pearl that can be used by a variety of bowlers!

I really like the Cell series so I was pretty pumped on the new release of the Eternal Cell.
A solid Asymmetrical that comes shiny. I drilled mine pin down, 5 x 4 x 4.75 . The Cell series was always a very strong rolling bowling ball. Sometimes they would kinda of labor down lane. But with the Eternal I see more length but with strong midlane roll and continuous roll through pins.
Its a lot cleaner than Hyper Cell and Skid. Great compliment though when those balls start to burn up. I use the Eternal a lot when lanes get a little wet/dry and it blends out the pattern. A very successful motion back in the Roto Grip Line.

The new ball in the Roto Grip HP4 line is the Exotic Gem. I am a big fan of the original Gem. So I was pretty excited to see a pearl version. I drilled mine very similar to the Gem, 4.5 x 5 x 2 basically pin above bridge drilling. The Exotic has great colors and is vert noticeable when going down the lane. With the same core as the Gem the Exotic still needs some oil up front. But the Exotic does have a pretty strong midlane and backend motion compared to the original. The exotic has been a little conditional to me with my ball roll. But I have had good success on the longer sport patterns. It's a different motion but when your lined up with it, strikes for days. Very strong Asymmetrical Pearl.
Great addition to the RG line!

The new addition to the Roto Grip HP line is the Halo. Solid coverstock with an Asymmetrica core. I drilled mine 4 x 6 x 2 pin up. I have from other staffers and bowlers that the Halo reminded them of the Storm Alpha Crux and a beefed up IDOL.
I personally can see those motions in the Halo. The Halo is cleaner through the fronts than I expected with the solid coverstock. I compared the Halo to my Storm Lock and the Halo was at least 3-4 boards weaker for me. But for me the motion was very good midlane motion with a strong arcing motion at the breakpoint. The best thing I saw was how low it keeps the pins and the carry was very good. So if you like the IDOL and just need a little more ball strength the Halo is your ball.

Roto Grip Halo vision review by Brian Watson

The Halo Vision is Hybird version in the Halo Line. To me the original Halo was good but it was a little conditional for me as it low response to the friction downlane.
The Halo Pearl was better for me as it was much cleaner and stronger response to the friction. So the Halo Vision is both of best worlds and the best in the line for me.
It is the strongest also overall for me. It reminds me of the RG Defiant Soul with the shape that I get from the Vision. I drilled mine 2 x 6 x 1. I needed a reaction to play up the lane when they are wet/dry house shots or on short sport patterns.
The Vision and drilling matched up real well for what I was looking for. Early roll with good midlane roll and smoother backend. I have drilled a couple of these for my customers and had great success. Especially with a teammate who high ball speed an medium rev rate. It rolls amazing for him. It gives a lot of miss room at the breakpoint. Great Addition to the Halo line!

The new RG in the HP3 Line is the Haywire. RG took the successful Disturbed
core (Middle Roll 70 and wrapped it with the Hyper Cell Coverstock (80H Microbite).
This combination has created a very strong continuous motion. The Color scheme has great shelf appeal. I drilled mine with my favorite drilling 5 x 4 x 2 3/4 pin up.
This ball has amazing backend reaction and recovery. It just doesn't quit on the backend, even when you think you missed too far right the Haywire comes back.
I have used it on sport and house patterns. On sport I added a little surface it to
blend out and tame down the backend motion. For house I shine it up and can open
up the lane with this ball. Its the disturbed motion on steroids. This ball is going to be very popular with all bowling styles and this is going to be RG's home run!

The new ball in the RG in HP4 line is the Hot Cell. It uses new Radioactive solid urethane coverstock, with the popular Nucleus core that was in the Cell series. I drilled mine 4 x 5 x 3 or 60 x4 x 55.
I have drilled the Storm Pitch Blue and Pitch Black, the Hot Cell is at least 5-6 boards stronger. As with the Asymmetrical core it produces a large amount of flare. I like to say that the Hot Cell is a great choice for bowlers that have less than 500 RPM rev rates. As the Hot Cell can handle the puddle in the middle better and give you strong midlane hook. I am actually able to get left of the dry a little where the pitch series I had to stay on top of the dry. The Hot Cell is a game changer in urethane market today.

The new Hustle in the Roto Grip entry level is the Hustle BRY. I am a big fan of the Hustle Line over the years. Pretty good bang for your buck! Good looking colors and shelf appeal. I always like to drill the entry level balls with stronger pins to help with the over under from the lowed diff balls.
So I went with a 4 x 4x 2 layout. The Hustle Bry has very good downlane reaction even with the lower differential. I like using the Hustle BRY when I'm bowling on the short sport patterns or the drier shot House patterns. I like the pearl cover as It gets through the burnt heads and doesn't really create a flippy motion, more of an arcing motion. Which allows me to play more in the friction, do the weaker RG Hustle's.
Ive pesonally liked the entry level, ball its seems most centers don't apply much oil these days.
the Hustle Bry is about the same strength as the Tropical surges with a little different motion.
Just a very good choice for when the lanes get toast!!

The Roto grip Hustle Camo features the VTC Solid coverstock and Hustle core. The new Camo has great shelf appeal!
Let's just say I am a huge fan of the RG Hustle line. To me the Hustle line is more bang for you buck. The Camo is no different. I drilled mine Pin up above middle which is a 5 inch pin. I loved the Hustle PBR. But the Camo is a little cleaner and little more pop downlane. I think the Camo rolls a little like the Hustle Ink. Where I can get as deep as I want on the lane and still be able to shape the ball well enough to strike even with a weaker core numbers wise (.030). I think the Camo is going to be very popular ball in the Hustle line.

It's June so it Hustle Release time. The new one is the Hustle Earth. What a cool looking ball with a great shelf appeal. Looks like the planet Earth! I drilled mine 4.5 x 4 x 1.75 and added Storm Power Edge polish.
Since they discontinued the Hustle Rip which was a solid, the Earth is the replacement. The Earth has a little slower response time that the Rip off the friction. As the Earth has a more rounded shape overall. I was able to use the Hustle Earth on the 3rd game in league and on the shorter to medium sport patterns.
Another great addition to the ever successful Hustle line.

The Roto Grip Hustle HYB is the new release in the HP 1 line. I drilled mine 5 x 4 1/2 x 4 pin down no hole. It comes with a 3000 grit finish. I absolutely loved the Hustle Ink. The INK sometimes would be too much response off the spot and create angle problems to carry. The Hustle HYB with the Hybird cover has a slower response off of the friction. Its kinda like a smooth arc motion. I've used mine on a couple hooking house shots and really liked how it was able to control the pocket. The HYB just didn't over react when hitting the dry. Thus for me the HYB will be a great late block ball and shorter sport pattern ball.

The Roto Grip is the newest of the Hustle series in the HP1 Line. This the first Hustle that used a solid coverstock. I drilled mine 4.25 x 4 x 4.5 pin down. Lets just say this is one of those balls that makes you go wow! For an entry level ball it brings big time performance. I have drilled other Hustles and they was okay and did the job on the drier conditions. But the Ink is just special, even for the lower diff core at .030.
The Ink gets down the lane nicely, but it just doesnt bounce of the dry, it rolls off of it and the carry is amazing. The Ink is one of those balls you can just put your favorite drilling in it and you will love it. Id say that the Ink is like a Mini IQ Tour Solid. Its a little weaker up front than IQ but it has great versatility. Definitely a must have in your bag type of ball.

The Roto Grip Hustle Say is the new addition to the HP1 line. The Hustles are the replacements of the Loco's. They are definitely stronger in the midlane than the locos. Hustle Say gave me a lot more defined motion. As the loco's sometimes created the over/under reaction. The Hustle Say will fit great in my arsenal for the later blocks and or 3rd game in league. These Hustles are going to be great balls for the low price point.

Lets start out that I am a bug fan of the RG Hustle Line. They are really a lot of bang for your buck. As they preform way beyond the low end line. From the Hustle Ink being probably the most popular, to one of my favorites the Camo. The Hustle USA has great colors and shelf appeal. I drilled mine with my favorite pin up drilling, 5x4x2 which puts the pin above the middle finger. I added Storm step 2 to the surface.
I know some staffers have the USA a little flippy, but I saw an earlier motion with a strong arc on the back. Which is prefect for me when the lanes are wet dry and or pretty clean on the backs. I have used the USA on house, usually 2nd or 3rd game. But where is really shines for me is the medium or short sport patterns. It just gives me control. Hustle USA is ball down from Night Road and Dark Moss.
Schlemer did really good with the Hustle USA!

The new low end ball in the RG HP2 line is the Hyped Pearl. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 2.5 pin up. I was pleasantly surprised on the strength. With the pearl cover is was clean, but read midlane and was way stronger off the friction that I was expecting. The Hyped I figured it would be used for later blocks or 3rd game of league, but its just a little too much ball. I can actually use the the Hyped Pearl for more medium lane conditions. I have the Hyped Pearl above the 900 Global Burners and the RG Hustles. But below the IQ's or Idol Helios.
I have heard from a lot of staffers they are putting some surface on the Hyped Pearl to help blend out the overall reaction. Great Addition to the RG Line!

Roto Grip has brought back the Nucleus Core from the very popular Cell line. They added a newer modern cover (80™ MicroBite). Let me just say that this is a very strong rolling bowling ball. I drilled mine 3 7/8 x 4 x 2 1/2 or 40 x 3 7/8 x 45.
The Hyper provides a strong motion with power and control. Also gives you the continuous motion that the original cell was known for. The Hyper is the strongest RG ball that I have thrown, very predictable and not flippy or angular at all.
The coverstock is very versatile. I have used the Hyper with Storm Extra shine for league and I have used it with 2000 abralon for sport patterns with great success.
The Hyper is going to get a lot play at USBC's team event.

The new Asymmetrical ball in the Roto Line is he Hyper Cell Fused. Using the very successful Nucleus Core and wrapped with the new Hybrid cover (E-Trax H18). I drilled mine 4 x 6 x 2 and left the cover box. I personally get a lot of length and great motion down lane. A lot of bowlers tell me how much the Fuse hooks overall. Mine might bebecause of my low PAP and weak MB. But it is a very popular ball and is selling like crazy and has been on backorder from Storm/RG almost as soon as release date.
For me it a ball down from Storm Code X. Great addition to the RG Line.

The new ball in the Roto Grip HP-4 Line is the Hyper Cell Skid. This the pearl version of the Hyper Cell. The Skid still has the great Cell roll. Also has a lot more backend.
I drilled mine 4 1/4 x 4 x 1 1/2 or 40 x 4 1/4 x 35. Very similar layout to my Hyper Cell.
Very good compliment the the Hyper, as just gives me that extra length and more tip at the back to get the corners out. During a couple Storm Matchmakers the Skid was a very popular ball, as all styles liked the motion they got from the Skid.

The new ball in the Roto Grip HP3 line is the Hysteria. The Hysteria is a reactive solid ball that comes shiny. I drilled mine just like my Asylum, 5 x 5 x 2 3/4 or 60 x 5 x 40.
Even with the shiny cover, the ball rolls pretty strong in the midlane for me. Has good backend continual ball motion. Hysteria is not flippy at all but more off a strong roll off of the breakpoint. I have used Hysteria on house patterns. Compared to the Asylum the Hysteria is a lot stronger overall and more forward rolling for me.
Hysteria is good step down from the Sinister and Hyper Cell when they start to labor down lane.

The Roto Grip Hy-wire is newest release in the HP3 line. It is the Hybird version on the very popular Haywire. The Haywire is one of my favorite balls, especially on the fresh.
But sometimes I had to put it up in game 3 as it was starting to labor downlane.
Now with the Hy-wire it is a perfect ball to go to. As it has 1 part solid and 2 part Pearl which it allows to clear the heads cleaner and store more energy to the back end. The Hy-wire still to me has the forward rolling motion to it but much cleaner than Haywire, Eternal, or Critical. The carry is great with this type of motion. Another good addition to the Roto Grip line.

The Roto Grip Idol is a great addition to the RG line. I drilled mine 4.5 x 4 x 4.5 pin down no hole. The IDOL has great shelf appeal with the bright Magenta color, this is some white phasing is some of them. But I have a lot of good compliments on the color of the IDOL as it is different than a lot of bowling balls. With the Haywire being discontinued the IDOL is a perfect replacement. It is a strong symmetrical ball that rolls a little early and smooth downlane. Kinda of like a stronger IQ Solid. It will be a great ball on sport and PBA patterns, and especially at the USBC Open Championships.

Roto Grip Cosmos review by Brian Watson

Lets start out by saying I am a huge fan of the RG IDOL line. The new release in the line is the IDOL Cosmos. RG used the Pearl Xtreme Trax cover on the very good rolling Ikon Symmentrical Core. As strong as the Idol Helios was the Cosmos to me is very smooth and controllable. I drilled mine 4 x 3 x 1 .75 pin up. Compared to the Idol Pearl the Cosmos is much smoother and longer. More of an archy motion with decent response to the friction. Where the Idol Pearl was stronger overall than the Cosmos.
I will be able to use the Cosmos on a variety of the medium and shorter patterns as it so predictable and not as early as the Helios. But it does create a great 1-2 punch with Helios and Cosmos for the RG line.
I drilled a 3 inch pin for a higher rev guy and he loves the control on his normal wet /dry league pattern. Carry was good and the availability to stay lined up for awhile without having to move a lot of boards. Another great addition to the IDOL line!

The Idol line has been a huge success for Roto Grip. And with the discontinued Magenta Idol which was very popular there was void in this lineup. Welcome the new RG Idol Helios. With its great shelf appeal Orange Color the void was filled. There was a 900 series shot with the Helios the first week! I drilled mine 5 inch pin down and added a little Storm Step 2 to give me a little more skid with our house shots.
The Helios is close to the original Idol, but its a little cleaner and more pop down lane.
But the Helios still has the great ball roll that we all loved. This Helios has been very popular among league bowlers, hardly a night goes by without seeing one on the rack.
Helios can be a good bench mark ball also. Stronger than the Hyped series and below the RST X-1, X-2. Go drill one of the hottest balls on the market and start striking!

The new ball in the Roto Grip HP3 line is the IDOL Pearl. I absolutley love the original IDOL, so I was pretty excited to see the IDOL Pearl come out. I drilled mine exactly like the original Idol, 5 x 4.25 x 4.75 pin down. The best thing for me was that the Idol was a little early in fronts and strong midlane roll and just a arc motion downlane. Which was a great motion, but later in blocks or 3rd game the Idol kinda started to labor and loss carry. The Idol Pearl is the perfect compliment as it has similar motion but much cleaner and stronger motion down lane. At the Storm Matchmakers this season the Idol Pearl has been very popular with all styles of bowlers. Also has great shelve appeal with the bright blue color.

The new Idol in the Roto Grip HP3 line is the IDOL Synergy. The original Idol is still one of my favorites. So I was looking forward to this release. I threw it during one of our Storm Matchmakers and thought wow this ball has a ton of backend. Thus I decided to drill mine pin down drilling ( 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 x 4) to help blend out the roll with higher axis tilt. The Synergy with Etrax Hybrid cover is the cleanest of the Idols and the highest response off of the friction. But still has that good strong Idol mid lane roll that were used to. I think the higher speed players might have to cut the cover a little or use it more when the lanes break down a little. The Synergy has been a great league ball for me so far. I also have been able to use it on the medium to some short sport patterns. Very good addition to help out the HP3 line!

The 3rd Generation Roto Grip is Magic Gem. The original Gem was a solid, the Exotic is a Pearl, the Magic Gem is a Hybird. For me I like using the Gem when I need to go up the lane and control the pocket. When the Gem starts to bog down a little, I could go to the Exotic Pearl on the same line. But now with the Magic Gem I am able to move a little more left and shape it more down lane. I drilled mine 4 x 5 x 2 pin above bridge.
Still a very strong bowling ball. I also use the Magic Gem on the longer sport patterns, as with my roll I need some oil up front especially with my medium ball speed. Like PBA Shark, PBA Dragon.
Rolls better for me when I add a little Step 2 for house patterns.

The new Asymmetrical ball in the Roto Grip HP4 line is the Menace. The Menace has is the solid version of the Sinister. I drilled mine just like my Sinister, 4.5 x 4 x 4 3/4 or 45 x 4 X 30. For me the Menace is very early rolling and nice smooth arcing motion on the backend. Where the Sinister can be a little angular the menace is more controlling at the breakpoint. Menace can handle more oil in the puddle and keep online with most of the patterns. Very good option to use on the fresh oil patterns.
Bowlers with high ball speeds will like the Menace for its ability to read the pattern.
Another great addition to the HP4 line from RG. Own It!

The Roto Grip MVP original was good ball, but was a little early for me. So when the MVP Pearl came out it was the perfect compliment to the MVP.
From what I've seen so far from the MVP Pearl, its going to be "The Ball" to have in the RG line. From its great looking color scheme and hard arcing backend motion.
I drilled mine pin down with 5 inch pin no hole. You still get the similar motion as the MVP but the pearl likes friction. It is a high response ball. But its not the skid flip motion. This ball is hard to throw through your breakpoint.
The MVP Pearl is must have in anyone's arsenal!

The new release in the Roto Grip HP4 line is the No Rules. New cover and new core technology from RG. I drilled mine with favorite layout 5.25x4x3.25 pin up. I will have to say that this is the strongest Roto Grip I've drilled. I loved the Cell series which was a great series. I think the No Rules rolls a little earlier but has better backend and continuation. I have used the No Rules on a couple sport shots that had a lot of volume and it was the first ball that I drilled for awhile that allowed me leak it to the OB and still hit the pocket. I added some polish to the cover and allowed me to use it on the larger volume house shots as well. Great addition to the Roto Grip Family.

The RG No Rules Pearl is the pearl version of the No Rules Solid. I drilled mine
5 x 4 x 2 no hole. For me the Utah Pearl covers seem to be a lot stronger reaction than the solids and hybirds at times. With the NR Pearl no exception. With the very strong diff. core of 0.053 it rolls very strong in midlane but with pearl cover it has more continuation down lane. I added a little surface to the cover to blend out the overall reaction. I can use the ball on heaver oiled house shots and most of the medium to longer sport patterns. The NR Pearl has been a very popular choice among lefties and
lower to medium rev rate players. A very good addition to the RG line!

The new Roto Grip ball in the HP4 line is the Nuclear Cell. Let's just say I'm a big fan of the Cell line from back in the day with the Cell Pearl being my favorite. So I was pretty pumped to see a Pearl coverstock with the very popular Nucleus Core.
I drilled mine 5 x 5 x 2 a standard pin up above fingers and MB about an inch from thumb.
My initial thoughts was this ball is special. I think the Nuclear is going to be just as good as the Phaze 3 is on the Storm side. It's that good of a ball. What I like is that when the Nuclear gets a little too deep in the pocket it still kicks the ten pin out, where other balls would not. The motion is just very predictable and this ball carries and goes through the pins really well. Its cleaner that the UFO but with more pop downlane, not flippy just hard arcing. Just put your favorite layout in the Nuclear and you won't be disappointed.

For me the Optimum is very close the original Idol, it may be a little earlier due to the newer coverstock. Same great ball reaction though, a little earlier motion and smooth arcing reaction down lane. It is great ball for all the wet dry house shots that we
see so much in todays patterns. I also like using the Optimum on sport to control the pocket on those flatter sport patterns. As the optimum doesn't get off line a lot and is very controllable ball motion. 2 handers love the Optimum because of the control with all their speed and revs. But the down and in players also can use it with success especially when playing the track area. Thank You Schlem for bringing back the IDOL!

The new ball in the Roto Grip HP3 line is the Optimum Idol Pearl. The Optimum Idol was a big hit among all bowlers so the R&D team came out with the Pearl version. I drilled mine with a pin up 4 x 4 x 2. With the Idol series they are strong rolling in the midlane. With the pearl version I get the same great rolling bowling ball motion with a little more length and pop down lane. With my unique ball roll with a lot of side roll and tilt the Pearl is perfect for me on a lot of lane conditions. I can actually shape the lane a little with the pearl where most bowlers can create a little more shape than the original Idol. But its not a ball that I can play real deep with but normally right of the 4th arrow. The pearl has great shelf appeal and its very noticeable going down the lane!

Likes: The outlaw is very smooth rolling bowling ball. It reads the midlane real well and is very hard rolling off the spot. I really like how this ball handles the puddle but does not jerk when it hits friction.
I have kept it 2000 abralon on the ball, and in league when the backs are not real clean, the Outlaw opens up the
lane for me. If your looking for a controllable solid symmetrical , the Outlaw is the choice.
The Outlaw has a very predictable roll to it, thus is very good choice for PBA and sport patterns. As it will keep you in play a lot more than other balls.

Another great ball from Roto Grip....
Dislikes: It tends to roll a little early on the medium to dry lane conditions.. But a little Storm Step 2
compound or light polish will help create the needed length.

The new ball in RG HP3 line is the Roto Grip Rock Star. With all new NanoStar™ coverstock material is our latest nanotechnology remix and with the new Rocker core and A.I. Core technology.
My feeling the intent from Storm HQ was to develop a benchmark ball in the RG line, similar to say a Storm
Phaze 2. I drilled mine 4.75x4x1.75 pin up. Man all I can say is this ball just strikes. The cover is a little on early side like a phaze 2 but it has very good response down lane. Its a very strong arc motion, and just goes through the pins amazing. I was fortunate to shoot 300-804 off the press with the Rock Star on a 46ft modified house pattern. I played up the lane around the track area. If I leaked it to the dry it just stood up and rolled a little forward and still went through the pins. If I missed in a little in the puddle it was still strong enough to respond down lane. I keep the surface around 2000 abralon. Very good bench mark ball. Its stronger than overall than the IDOL line to me but it different parts of the lane. It has more pop off the friction down lane than the IDOL. Not quite as strong as the bigger asyms like Attention Star S2 or ION Max. But stronger than Summit Ascent or the ION PRO. Great Ball period and a must for everyone's arsenal.

The new ball in the Roto Grip HP4 line is the RST Hyperdrive. The design team at SPI took the original core from RST-1 (RST (Roto Star Tour) + A.I. Core and wrapped it with very successful Gem Coverstock(MicroTrax Solid Reactive) I drilled my 4 3/4 x 4 x 4 1/2 pin down. I have been drilling the bigger asymmetrical pin down with my slower ball speed to help get them down the lane easier. I am very impressed with how much continuation that I have with RST. On the standard house shot I was able to open the lane up. The RST handled the puddle with ease and still enough energy to get the ten out. When hitting the dry a little early the RST just went into a roll and didn't over hook down lane. With the great colors and great roll the RST is very easy to spot going down the lane. For a solid cover this RST hooks pretty good off the friction, still considered a slow response ball but still give good forgiveness. Overall its the strongest over all ball in the lineup. But I actually have the Attention star S2 a little earlier and less down lane. The RST is great addition to anyone's arsenal.

The Roto Grip RST X-1 is the recent addition to the HP4 line.
The X-1 is an asymmetrical ball but it not as strong as say a Storm Proton Phyisx or RG UFO. I drilled mine 5 x 4.5 x 2.5 which is a pin above middle finger for me. I can say the ball roll is unique especially how the X-1 goes through the pins. Its just different but in a good way. It kind of just keeps pins low and sucks them off the deck. Catch some of Stu Williams YouTube videos on the X-1, its his favorite ball right now.
The hybird Microtrax cover is very versatile and takes polish and abralon changes real well. I have the X-1 above the Rubicon and below a Proton.
The X-1 has been a big hit at our Storm Matchmaker events.

The new ball in the HP4 Line from Roto Grip is the RST-X2 . The X-1 has been a very good ball and very successful in the bowling market. So Utah came out with the pearl version. I drilled mine 5.25.x5.x4.5 pin down. With the eTrax PLUS Pearl Reactive, man that ball is clean! For an asymmetrical ball X-2 gets down the lane very easily.
With that being said it does store some energy and has a good response to the friction.
But with the RST Core its still controllable motion and not as angular as say a UC2.
So if your backends are pretty clean and the UC2 is a little too sharp then X-2 would be a good ball to use. Roto grip has some very good Asymmetrical's in the line today with each one providing a different shape.

The new Asymmetrical solid from Roto Grip is the Rubicon. Roto Grip's intent on the Rubicon's design was coming from the USBC's weight hole change. I drilled mine with standard pin up above bridge. The motion is like in between an asymmetrical and symmetrical ball. Still have that good mid lane roll from an Asymmetrical core but the downlane motion from a symmetrical. For a solid cover the Rubicon is pretty responsive to the friction down lane. The Rubicon has been very popular with the PBA guys all the way down to the everyday league bowler. Very versatile. The Rubicon has similar motion to Storm Code X with more backend motion. Good step down from a UFO but stronger than Idol line.

The new HP4 ball in the RG line is the Rubicon UC2. RG took the very successful Rubicon and added a pearl cover (eTrax-S20 Pearl Reactive).
I drilled my with the standard pin up above fingers and MB an inch right of thumb.
When first throwing the UC2 I was like wow a lot of backend reaction. Super clean and angular downlane. A "Quick Ball". On the fresh it was really too much down lane, where the UC2 shines is later in blocks or 2nd or 3rd game of league when the heads burn up a little. I have added a little surface to cover to help slow it down a little on sport patterns. Very popular balls with the PBA guys and league bowlers. Definitely a home run from the Schlem and Utah guys!

To be honest I personally have not been a fan of urethane. I don't have a 500 rev rate, and have a lot of axis tilt. The Pitch black and Pitch Purple was just okay for me.
Well Roto Grip introduced the UC3 with an asymmetrical core and a new Tour ethane pearl coverstock. I drilled mine 4 inch pin above fingers. First off lets just say this ball is very different and it actually hooks a little down lane. The UC3 has a very unique ball motion. I have been able to use the UC3 on multiple sport patterns, especially the medium to short. So for me being a tweener the UC3 allows to me compete with the higher rev guys throwing urethane. So give it the UC3 a try today!

The RG Rumble is the latest symmetrical in the HP2 Line. I used the Storm VLS system and the drilling came out to be 4 5/8 x 3 1/4 3 1/4. My pap is 4 up 1 1/4.
The Rumble is a very smooth and controllable ball. Its a ball reaction that will allow you to play straighter through fronts and predictable move off of the spot. It has a medium to slower response to the friction. Similar reaction to the RG Riot, but I think it is a hair stronger than the Riot. The Rumble will be a good fit for medium house shots. Probably would steer away for the real dry conditions or really tight conditions, but there are other balls for those patterns. I think the Rumble is good for when the lane conditions can spotty or tricky as it will help smooth out the reaction.

Another great ball from Roto Grip King of Them All.

The Roto Grip Scream is in the HP-1 line. The scream is a high RG and low differential ball, just what I was looking for the drier lane conditions.
I drilled the Scream 4.75 x 4.5 x 2.75 pin up.
The Scream is very clean through the fronts, and strong arc on back. The scream doesn't have a skid /flip reaction, more of a hard rolly move off the spot.
I go to this ball when the heads dry up and I need some length..
For a entry level ball from RG the Scream is a great ball for the money.
Plus has great shelf appeal.

The Roto Grip Shatter is the HP-2 Line. The Shatter is a high RG and medium differential ball with a Pearl Coverstock. This ball has a skid/ flip reaction.
When the Shatter sees friction , it is going to read it with a hard angular motion.
Very clean up front and stores a lot of energy for the backend. I drilled mine
with a 4.75 inch pin above middle finger, stacked CG. The Shatter has a lot bounce room to the right, and the carry is exceptional. Best used on medium to dry conditions. I have had success using the Shatter when the heads start to go and the oil carries down to the back. The Shatter cuts right through the carrydown.
Very popular ball for all styles of bowlers.

The Roto Grip Show Off is new ball in the HP2 line. It uses a new core called the Hot Shot and is symmetrical. Wrapped with the No Rules solid Coverstock (Micro DNA).
I drilled my Show Off 4.5 x 4 x 4 pin down no hole. I was pretty impressed with the overall ball reaction. Even with the 2000 factory finish I was able to get the Show Off down the lane without burning up early. Thus having stored energy for the backend. The motion off the friction was hard but like a hard arcing reaction.
Show off will shine on most medium conditions. I think it is a little longer than the Haywire and has a little stronger ball motion on the backend. But it has very controllable reaction. A great addition to the Roto Grip line!

The new addition to the Roto Grip HP4 line is the Sinister. Sinister uses the Cage core with 76H Hybrid coverstock. I drilled mine 4.5 x 4 x 4 3/4 or 45 x 4 x 30. I compare the Sinister to the popular Defiant Soul, with more backend motion. But the Sinister is cleaner through the fronts than the Hyper cell. A good combination of both balls. I have used the Sinister with Storm step 2 for league with good success, just can only use it for about a game. I have applied surface to it bowl on Kegel sport conditions, which created a very strong ball motion even on the longer patterns.
Straight players will like the control and hitting power, and the crankers will like it to be able to open up the lane with good continuation. Another great ball from Roto Grip.

The newest ball in the Roto Grip H3 Line. Very bright Red/Orange colors which is great shelf appeal. The new Roto Grip TNT features an all-new coverstock, the eTrax plus solid coverstock. I drilled mine 4 1/4 x 3 x 2 and added Storm Step 2 compound.
I actually shot 300 right of the press in my Thursday night league. The TNT is a little early and rolly ball motion. The TNT reminds a little of the RG Haywire which is my all time favorite RG ball. Great benchmark ball and a ball that really shines when going up the lane. If you looking for this ball to hockey stick or or backend hard this is not your ball. Storm has a good selection of those. I also was able to use the TNT at Reno Team Event with great success (740), as slower response ball was perfect for Nationals.
So TNT is also good for the flatter patterns and the ones you need control. Great addition to the RG line!

The new Roto Grip ball in the HP 3 Line is the TNT Infused. I was real big fan of the original TNT. The TNT Infused uses the same core with the E-Trax Hybird coverstock.
2 parts pearl 1 part solid. I drilled the Infused the same as original, 4 1/4 x 4 x 2.
I used the Infused on house pattern and a couple sport patterns. To be honest for me the Infused rolled okay for me, but not as good as the original. It seemed like Infused was too strong to play up the lane, and not enough to move in and hook it a little on house shots. On sport it rolled a little better for me. I have drilled a few in my shop and customers like the ball real well as it backend for them a lot! I really think the infused for me is a conditional ball. But for others it is a great ball for them. As sometimes certain ball just dont match up for the bowler. But if you are stroker or tweener looking for a ball that can help you down lane while playing down and in, the Infused is your ball.

The Roto Grip Totally Defiant is in the HP-4 Line. The Totally Defiant is the pearl version on the Defiant Soul. Which is a very popular and successful ball. I drilled mine at 5 x 4 x 3, pin above. My PAP is 4 up 1 1/4. This ball gets through the fronts real clean as expected with the pearl cover, but still has good midlane roll and good continuation through the pins. When the Soul starts to labor a little downlane I can switch to the Totally Defiant and stay in the same part of the lane. The carry was really good from many different angles. This ball may be the strongest ball motion downlane that we have in our Asymmetrical line today. If you liked the Critical Theory, then you will love the Totally Defiant as it is stronger and creates more angle at your breakpoint.

Newest addition to the Roto Grip HP3 line is the Tour Dynam-X. The Tour has a strong solid coverstock with a low rg (2.47)and low diff core (0.26). This is a unique combination. We really haven't had that combo in a ball from SPI. So hats off to the design team! I drilled mine with a pin up 4 inch pin. I have used the Tour on a bunch of patterns, very versatile. Its kind of cover strong like the IQ Tour solid. Ive been able to play inside 4th arrow and played up the lane around 1st arrow with the Tour. The cover responds with all kind of surface adjustments, whether it is with Abralon pads or step 2.
The downlane reaction is probably a little on the slow response side, but the Tour for me carries real well. The Tour is kind of between an asymmetrical and a symmetrical ball. Even though the Tour is an asymmetrical ball, but with the lower diff it fits in between. Great ball to have in your bowling ball arsenal.

The new ball from Roto Grip in the HP4 line is the UFO. This is a strong solid asymmetrical with a lot of hook! I drilled mine 5 x 5 x 2. I'm usually not a big fan of big solid asymmetrical balls with my roll. But the UFO was a huge surprise. The UFO with a little Storm step 2 applied to the cover, this ball was the most overall backend reaction that I have seen in a long time. UFO is way stronger than the RG Halo. When using this ball on house a couple sport patterns the UFO just keeping hooking. So I just kept chasing it left. Usually big asymmetrical's will just bleed off to much energy and lose reaction down lane at the breakpoint. Not the UFO it just kept hooking. With the new core and cover it created a ball reaction that was different than anything in the line today. This is a great addition to the RG line.

The newest addition to the HP2 RG Line is the Ultimate Wrecker. I was a huge fan of the original Wrecker. So when RG Schlem decided to bring it back I was pretty excited. Same original Wrecker Core with AI technology and a PURE-Response Hybrid Reactive cover. I drilled mine 4.75 x 4 x 1.75 pin above middle finger. I have only got to use the Wrecker on our House Shot. I was forced a little left on the fresh as the backend motion was pretty strong, not flippy just a hard arcing motion. But it gives me that good medium Roto Grip motion, where it reads the midlane and continues through the pins. Its a great compliment to the Rock Star as when it starts to labor a little. The Ultimate Wrecker is still stronger than the IQ's series, Hyroads, and Zen 25 to me. But beneath the Rock Star, Phaze 2, and the bigger Asymmetrical bowling balls.
Great Addition to the RG Line!

The new addition to the Roto Grip HP-3 Line is the Unhinged. This is the Pearl version of
the Hysteria. I drilled mine 60 x 6 x 45 or 6 x 4.5 x 3 1/4. I used this layout so I could use the ball in league. With having the Hysteria core I still see that hard midlane roll but with the Pearl I do see more length. Even with a 6 inch pin this ball is a very strong pearl for me. As it is hard for me to throw through the breakpoint. Definetly a few boards stronger than the Uproar. A lot of the guys that have a lot of hand will like this ball as it clears the fronts and really opens up the area at the breakpoint.

The RotoGrip UpRoar is the pearlized version of the Rumble. With a low diff. of 0.030 and high RG 2.55. There was some reviews about this ball being flippy on the backend. Even with a pearl cover I personally get an earlier roll with nice continuous smooth arcing motion. With the Late Roll 51 core, the Uproar is very predictable. As you have seen Belmo use the Uproar a lot on TV this year. Very good ball for sport and PBA. But also very good option for those house shots that are a little on the light side with the oil. I drilled mine with a 5 1/2 inch pin above my middle finger. With this drilling the Uproar also allows me play on the fresh better as I don't see a big change in direction off of the spot. High rev guys will really like this ball as it is so controllable down lane when they have to get deep and open up the lane. If you liked the Rumble you will definitely like the pear version Uproar.

The Roto Grip Wild Streak is the ball in the HP3 line. The Wild Streak uses the new Mutated Rotary Symmetrical Weight block wrapped with the brand new SureTrax-S19 solid coverstock. RG intent was to have High RG symmetrical in their HP3 lineup.
With 2.60 RG is a very High RG ball. I drilled mine 4 x 5 x 1 pin up.
For me with box surface I get the predictable and very controllable motion. But the Wild Streak has a unique ball reaction with the shape downlane. Its kind of a hard acring motion. It's not a ball that you would open up the lane with, a ball that you keep the pocket in front of you. Its stronger overall than say the Idol Pro in overall strength but below the Halo's. In the matchmakers we have ran recently the Wild Streak was big hit with bowlers. They were a little hesitant to throw it but they really liked the motion they saw. A great Addition to the HP3 RG line.

The new Roto Grip Winner is a great addition and a missing motion in the current line. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 4 pin down. I hit it with a 4000 abralon pad to take a little shine off as it is very clean through the fronts. Ive been able to use the Winner on pretty much any lane condition so far. I drier house shot it really shines! I bowl on a couple sport patterns also with success, but it needs to have the surface altered to around 2000 grit to get the best reaction. But it has the great RG reaction down lane with it rolling or (tumbling) off of the breakpoint. Very controllable and predictable.

I was a big fan of the RG original winner. But sometimes the Winner was a little squirty on the fresh or too much downlane. Well the Winner solid was a perfect match to use on the fresh and or the wet dry lane condition. I drilled mine 4.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 pin down.
I would label the Winner Solid as Control. Very smooth and predictable. A little earlier and slower response down lane. Great sport shot ball, or high rev guys wanting to control the backends.

The new Roto grip ball in the HP2 line is the Wreck-em. Same core as the Wreck-it and Wrecker (Neutron) with Pumped Pearl same cover on the Hustle (P/O/W).
I drilled mine pin up stacked above my bridge, which this is strong pin for my PAP of 3 5/8's. I have thrown the Wreck-em on house and a couple sport patterns.
For me I see it being cleaner through fronts than the wreck-it but with a little stronger ball motion when it sees friction. I have seen a lot of the PBA guys putting a little surface on the Wreck-em with great success. The wreck-em is a ball that allows you to have a lot of control and more of a direct line to the pocket. Great ball for all styles.

The new addition to the Roto Grip HP2 Line is the Wreck-it. RG uses a new Hybird cover (Psyched Hybrid Reactive) wrapped on the successful (Wrecker)Neutron Core.
Where the Wrecker could get a little snappy on the back end the Wreck-it is a much more smoother earlier motion. Overall a stronger ball motion than the previous Wrecker. With this motion the Wreck it can handle more oil, and a variety of lane conditions. Very versatile cover as it adjust to sanding or polishing very well.
I drilled mine pin down 4.25x4.25x4.25 no hole. Wreck-it will also fit all styles of bowlers. With the No Rules and the Wreck-it these are becoming my 2 favorite balls in my arsenal.

The new release in the Roto Grip HP4 line is the RG X-Cell. To me this the ball that back in the day that put Roto Grip on the map! Huge successful bowling ball back in 2008. Probably the Cell and Haywire has been my 2 favorites of all time for RG. 2024 the team added A.I. technology and a new modern day cover.
Man is the ball just good! I drilled mine pin down 4.5 x 4 x 4.5 added a little step 2. Same predictable roll, not too early and good arcing shape down lane. But the X-Cell Roll is just different than other Asymmetrical solids. This ball roll just carries extremely well for me. Whether it is on house or sport patterns the X-cell is very versatile. Its my top Asymmetrical benchmark ball in my arsenal. Its below the Absolute Power and Ion Max. But stronger than the Phaze 2 or Idols. Great bowling ball period.

The new High Performance ball in the Storm Premier line is the Absolute.
The Absolute has a brand new Core design (Sentinel) and a new coverstock ( R2S Deep Hybrid. Numbers are RG 2.48, Diff 0.050 Intermediate Diff 0.21. On paper this ball looks to be a little early and strong. I drilled the first one with a little too strong of MB. So I drilled another one with a weaker MB like 5.5 inches. (4.5 x 5.5 x 2) This ball is pretty surprising to me for an Asymmetrical Pearl. It was really pretty clean through the fronts for a lower RG core. I did sand the cover and add Storm Step 2. The Absolute still handles the league puddle very well, and still has plenty of response down lane. For me it really shined on the sport patterns. I added a light 2000 pad to help blend it out a little. For me it is a unique shape but a good one at that. When the Big solid Asyms start to bog down like the Gems, Proton or Reality's the Absolute is the ball to go to. Still stronger than the Revenants , Fate and IQ Ruby. From the reports from the PBA Storm staffers, they really like the Absolute especially with all the rev rates on tour tearing up the fronts. Great job from Alex and Hank at the Storm plant!

The new addition to the Storm Premier Line is the Absolute Power. The Power is the Solid version of the original Absolute. To be honest I had a hard time matching up with the original Absolute. But with the solid cover (R2S Deep Solid) this to me was a totally different ball. I drilled mine 4 1/4 x 4 x 2 pin up. The Absolute Power is a Home Run to me! The power just reads the pattern the correct way. It the most motion I've seen downlane out of a Asymmetrical Solid in a long time. The Power really excelled on the longer patterns like the Kegel Lithium pattern that I bowled on.
I have drilled 3-4 for customers at the shop from 2 handers, strokers, crankers. The Absolute Power rolled great for all the different styles! I think it is a must have in bowlers arsenals!

Storm All road review by Brian Watson.
The new ball in the road series is the All Road with the very successful hyroad core wrapped with
The hybrid reactive with NRG. With the NRG additive the All road rolls a little early
thus is smooth and low response downlane. I drilled mine pin down with 5 inch pin no hole.
I absolutely love the ball motion I get with All road. With original hyroad I sometimes got a little over under reaction.
But with the NRG it really blends out the overall motion.
Giving me a string arcing motion without all the extra length.
I got the All road beneath a Phase 2 and super Sonia. But above a hyroad pearl.
Very good addition to the hyroad line. As the hyroad nano was a little too early the All road is better
in that department.

The Alpha Crux the newest release to the Premier line for Storm Bowling. After
coming out with a Hybrid and Pearl in early releases, storm released the solid version in the Crux line. I drilled a couple of them, one with a favorite drilling 4.5 x 4 x 3 and 2nd one with a 2 x 6 x 1 layout. The Alpha has a heavy rolling motion, with good continuation downlane. It rolls a little on the early side and heavy in the midlane.
With the strong core and cover I was able to handle the puddle very well and still
have energy left for the backend. This ball is one of the strongest Storm balls that
I have drilled. But also very versatile, and adapts to surface changes very well.
The Alpha is ball for mainly medium to heavy oil house shot and the longer sport patterns.

The new ball in Storm's Master line is the Axiom. With a brand new cover called NeX solid for Nano Extreme. Earlier rolling version of the NRG coverstock. Also Axiom has a new Orbital core. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 1.5 . Wow this ball hooks and corners.
I put a little Step 2 compound on it to use it in league. This ball is very strong especially for a symmetrical ball. I had a hard time getting the 9 pin out as the Axiom just keep going. You will need a little oil up front to use the Axiom but its design is for the medium and longer oil patterns. The PBA guys loved this ball at the World series in Las Vegas this year. Great strong rolling but control at the breakpoint bowling ball.
It doesnt give you the squirt at the breakpoint like some other balls, but its not flippy either. Id say its more down lane reaction than a Super Soniq and maybe a little more than a Phaze 2. Its just a different shape. Definitely a ball to have in everyone's arsenal.

The Storm Axiom pearl is to me the strongest Pearl in the Storm Line today. Love the original Axiom especially on the fresh and larger volume patterns. So I couldn't wait till the pearl came out. As when the OG Axiom starts to labor the Pearl is perfect compliment. The Axiom Pearl just doesnt stop coming downlane. Very strong arcing backend motion. Plus the Axiom Pearl carries real well and keeps the pins real low.
Plus the Axiom has great self appeal with its bright colors.

The Storm Byte is the pearl version of the Sync. It uses the newly-designed G2+™ Core yields a strong change of direction at the breakpoint, giving you more angle to the pocket and better pin carry. With The proven pearl Evolution Reactive Genesis, or ERG™, coverstock.

I drilled mine 5 3/4 x 1 5/8 x 1 1/2. My intent was to drill this ball for our short and dry league patterns lately. Which this drilling fit the reaction that I was looking for my dry house shots.
The Byte is very clean and has angular motion at breakpoint.
I also threw the Byte from Matchmaker balls which is drilled stacked above fingers.
This Asymmetrical Pearl had a good skip/flip ball motion to it. A lot of the bowlers out there loved the Sync and wanted a pearl to complement it when the Sync started to labor down lane. Well this Byte is it, good length and plenty of pop on back. The Byte can be sanded with a pad to be able to help it pick up a little sooner. As I was pleasantly surprised how the Byte gets through the fronts, especially for a asymmetrical ball.
This ball is going to be very popular ball for all styles.

The Storm Code Black was an overseas release and it is now state side! One of my favorite balls was the IQ Tour pearl, well the Code Black has the same cover in the
R2S Pearl Reactive. Very Clean, but has a very strong core with a diff of 0.058. So you get strong midlane roll with the Asymmetrical core and huge backend motion.
I drilled mine 4 x 5 x 2.25. This is ball is a home run for Storm, great length and gives a ton of miss room to the right. The Code Black has been the popular ball in the Storm Matchmaker events that I have worked.

The new Storm ball in the premier line is the Code Red. The Code Red is the Hybrid version of the very popular Code Black. I drilled mine just like my pin down Code Black, 4 1/2 x 4 x 4. The Code Red is at least 5-6 boards stronger than Code Black.
The Code Red reads the mid lane earlier and less has response time to the friction.
This motion compliments the Code Black real well, as the Code Black doesn't like the puddle as it hydro planes. Where the Code Red with the stronger cover can handle more oil. Very good addition the Storm line!

The new ball in the Storm Premier line is the CODE X. I personally think the CODE X
is an Alpha Crux with stronger motion down lane. I drilled mine 4 x 5.5 x 2 pin up no hole. I added Storm Step 2 on it and hit it with a light 1000 pad. I was fortunate to shoot 300 with it first game off the press. The Code x was a little cleaner than expected with a solid cover but still had plenty of midlane and great motion on the backend. The CODE X has been a big hit in our Storm Matchmaker events with all styles of bowlers. Another great addition to the Storm Line.

Likes: Steve Kloempken Layed me a Crossroad out at High Roller at the Orleans. I was needing
a look to allow me to get the ball downlane and to control the backend. Steve layout the Crossroad out
35 x 4.5 x 60 (see pic below). I kept the coverstock factory, and the ball did exactly what I needed it for.
The Crossroad got to the spot with some midlane read and create nice hard arc off of the spot. It produce
great carry and control. The Crossroad gets through the fronts very clean, picks up in the midlane and has very strong but controllable move on the backend. I think that the Crossroad is smoother than the Hy-road and less angle than the Victory Road Pearl. Very good compliment for any arsenal.
Encasing the Hy-Road shell around the Victory Road’s Inverted Fe³ Technology™ weight block gives you the best of both worlds..

The Crux is Storm's newest addition to the premier line. The Crux has an ERG Hybrid Reactive cover stock with a new Catalyst Core. I drilled mine very similar to my Zero Gravity, 4.5 x 4.5 x 2 or 45 x 4.5 x 35. The Crux was a too strong with the 3000 factory finish, so I applied Storm Step 2. The Cruz has a stronger ball motion than Zero, still pretty clean through fronts for an asymmetrical. But has lot more backend motion as where the Zero was pretty smooth. Plus the Crux has very good continuation through the pins. I have thrown the Crux on house shots, but only able to use it for about a game. Used it on Kegel's 45 foot RT 66 and it rolled great. Gave me the very predictable midlane roll and good continuation off of the break-point.
The Crux was a very popular choice at a couple Storm Matchmaker events. All styles of bowlers really liked the Crux.

The new Storm ball in the Premier Line is the Crux Pearl. By using the same Catalyst™ Core in the Crux and wrapping it with ERG™ Pearl Reactive coverstock.
The Crux Pearl is great compliment to the Crux. As when the Crux starts to labor a little downlane, you can go right to the Pearl. In the Storm Matchmakers that I've been part of , the Pearl was the most Popular ball. As all styles liked the Pearl, from
seniors to the Youth kids. It provided a lot of room at the breakpoint to strike.
As the motion is similar to the Hybird Crux, but cleaner through fronts and more energy at the backend. But it not a sideways ball motion, more of hard arcing motion. Another great addition to the Storm Premier Line!

Storm's new ball in the premier line is the Crux Prime. It comes with all new coverstock called SPEC with the same core that is in the Crux line - Catalyst. I drilled mine 5.25 x 4.5 x 4.5 pin down. For me the motion of the Prime is very strong overall. But for a solid ball it still gives me good backend motion and just keeps going through the pins. Some bowlers are comparing the Prime to the Alpha, but for me the Crux is 3-5 boards stronger. I think the Prime will be a very good choice for S/D at Nationals this year. I have drilled a lot of these balls for all types of styles with great results.

The new ball in Storm Premier line is the Dare Code. I really liked the code series balls so was really looking forward to the Dark Code. The very popular Code Black was a great ball. Bowlers are trying to compare the Dark Code with Code Black. But the Code Black was very clean and angular. The Dark Code with the NEX cover really blends the shape very well. Dark Code is still fairly clean, good midlane and a rounded shape downlane. I drilled mine pin down with a 5 inch pin. I have only used the ball on a couple sport patterns and was very impressed. The Dark Code just seems to read the lane the right way. When Kyle Troup says that the Dark Code might replace the Phaze 2 as his go to ball sure says a lot! To me the Dark Code is one of those special balls that bowlers will be talking about for awhile!

The new solid Asymmetrical ball in the premier line is the DNA. The DNA has a brand new Supercoil weight block and wrapped it with the EXO solid coverstock. I'm normally not a big fan of big strong Aysm. solids as they just don't match up with my ball roll.
But the DNA is an exception, as for solid the DNA has a lot of motion downlane!
I drilled mine with a 4.25 inch pin up. I used the DNA first on the house pattern, and was very impressed. The DNA got down the lane better than expected and had a lot of backend motion. The DNA handle the puddle with ease and it didn't quit or labor when it hit the dry outside boards. I have used the DNA with Storm Step 2 and while bowling on sport patterns I have added 2000 pad to help the ball motion with good success. I have the DNA below the Reality and Gem, but to me it rolls like a beefed up Phaze 2.
Its not flippy at all, but just a strong rolling arc. Really a different motion in the SPI line. Great Addition!

The new asymmetrical pearl in Storm Premier line is the DNA Coil. I was a big fan of the original DNA. I drilled mine 4 x4 x2 pin up. I took the finish down to 1000 abralon and added Storm Step 2. With the pearl cover it gave me a little more length than original, but it the Coil was really smooth for me off the friction. I would say the overall strength would be medium. It fits below the Gem's, Reality's, Absolute power. And stronger than the Idol, Phaze II, Summit, and Sublime. I found more success playing up the lane and mainly bumping the track area. For me the Coil is still a little forward rolling so I needed to keep my angles pretty straight through the front. There has been a lot of success at USBC nationals with the Coil, mainly from Stu Williams shooting 780-805 in S/D! Great addition to the Storm Line!

The new ball in the Storm Signature line is The Drive. This is 2nd ball in the line next to the Timeless (Jason Belmonte). The biggest I heard from bowlers was the Timeless reaction was a little over/under at times and went too long. Well the Drive should take care of that problem. The Drive uses same core (Dual-Drive) but has the R2S Nano Hybrid coverstock. With this coverstock the Drive is earlier and smoother than Timeless. Which does help with the over/under from the Timeless. The Drive is great ball to go up the lane and to control the pocket. The Drive will be a great ball for the USBC Open Championships in NY this year. I drilled mine 4.5 x 4 x 4.25 pin down no hole.

The new Electrify ball in the Storm Hot line is the Electrify GO. I have drilled the electrify solid and the pearl. For me those were a little conditional and the pearl was better but gave me a little over under even on the dry. So I drilled my Electrify GO 4 1/2 x 2 x 1. With this pearl and the colors being bright and Gold and Red for me this one is much better and more predictable. I do believe that colors in the coverstock do matter. The GO definitely hooks more that expected for a low end ball and price point.
I have the GO beneath my Storm Fate and Revenant as far as strength, but when the lanes get really beat up in the front or late blocks this is where the GO shines.
I think the GO is also a good ball for rev dominant players or slower ball speeds. And Seniors who still want to play the track with slow ball speed.

The Storm Electrify Pearl review by Brian Watson.

I needed a weaker ball for the late shift or late blocks in tournaments. So I drilled a Electrify Pearl pin down with 4 1/2 pin. As I felt like I needed something below the RG hustle series (great balls by the way) and above the Tropical Storms. With the RG being high 2.51 and Differential of .030 this was a perfect fit in the ball reaction that I was looking for. The Electrify Pearl gave me the length that I was looking for but still has enough pop on the back to give me good motion through the pins. Perfect fit in my arsenal.

The new bowling ball in Storm's Hot Line is the Electrify Solid. The Electrify has a solid coverstock (Reactor Solid Reactive) and uses the Circuit Core. This the second release as Storm released the Electrify pear. For me the Pearl was a little over under for me at times. With the lower diff (.030) and pear cover. So with the Solid version for me and my roll it blends out the lane very well. With solid it gives me great control. Especially when they get a little dry, the Electrify Solid just rolls off of the friction. Its a slower response ball when it sees friction. I drilled mine with a 5 inch pin above middle finger.
As I think you need to drill the lower end balls fairly strong so you can get good use out of the lower diff core. But just dont sleep on this ball being on one of Storm's lower end balls. You get a lot bang for your buck on the Electrify Solid.

The new Storm release in the Premier line is the Equinox. Brand new Core and Coverstock! Storm's message is that 80% of the leagues and weekend tournaments are played on oil patterns between 39-44 feet. So Storm designed a ball for those lengths called the Equinox. I drilled mine 4.75x4.5x4.5 pin down.
The Equinox has a different roll than normal Asymmetrical pearls. The Equinox is a great medium ball, not too early and not too flippy. This is truly a house shot killer. I have drilled a couple for my customers and it is honestly crazy how good this ball is for league bowlers. The Equinox just goes through the pins the right way.
When the miss in the ball just sets there and still climbs over the 8-9. Miss out toward the dry and Equinox just rolls off of it and strikes. I have the Equinox a ball up from Physix Blackout and below the Attention Star S2. The Equinox definitely lives up to the hype!

The new Jason Belmonte Signature ball is the Storm Fate. With Jason and the Storm team at the plant has come up with what I think is the best Belmo ball to date.
I drilled mine 4.5 x 3 x 2. The Fate gives me a very good motion, its a little unique but in a good way. I can use the Fate when the big bowling balls like Gem, Exotic Gem, DNA, Dark Code start to bog down. The Fate has some good length and very good response down lane, can be a little quick at times. But still the round shape not the hockey stick motion. I've drilled the Fate for a variety of styles, strokers, crankers and 2 handers. All of them love the ball. So as in a pro shop it is very easy to recommend the Fate. Just because it has Belmo name on it doesn't mean its only for 2 handers. A Great addition to the Storm Line.

The new urethane from Storm is called the Fever Pitch Pearl. First off with my roll urethane just doesn't match up with me. The pitch blue , Pitch Black and Hot Cell were just okay. The Fever Pitch has a new PWR+CTRL Pearl Urethane coverstock. I drilled mine with a stronger pin, 4 x 4 x 2 and added some surface. The Fever was a little cleaner than the pitch black and a little more shape downlane. I think the Fever will be get some more play on the shorter patterns and later blocks where I can't get resin down the lane. It definitely has a different motion and should fill a gap in Storm's urethane line.

The new ball in the Thunder Line is the Storm FIGHT. The Fight has all new core called
Iron Cross which is the largest weight block Storm has ever developed. Storm wrapped the Fight with the R4S Solid Reactive coverstock. I drilled mine 5 1/4 x 4 x 2 3/4.
The Fight even with a solid cover gets through the fronts pretty well with its high rg of 2.62, but picks up in midlane real well with the medium differential of .043.
For me its a different ball motion. Its more like a benchmark ball, as its very controllable and stays online. But Fight has a very heavy roll for me and continues through the pins. Similar roll to the Marvel-S but cleaner through the heads.
If you looking for control and continuation then the Fight is the ball for you.

Fire Road 55 x 4 x 75
The FIRE ROAD uses a modified version of the symmetrical Inverted Fe3 weight block first used in the VICTORY ROAD, with the modification upping the differential about 15 percent.
The FIRE ROAD uses a pearl R2X coverstock.
I drilled it with a 4 inch pin as I wanted to have some flare to help smooth out the overall reaction. The Fire Road is clean through the fronts with good midlane roll with a strong move
Off of the spot. Not a skid/flip reaction that you would see with the Victory Road Pearl.
This reaction creates great carry, as the ball has more of a rolling motion into the pins vs a skid/flip entry angle.
This ball is great on your typical house shot as it kinda of blends out the early wet/dry condition.
On sport and PBA conditions the Fire Road does need a little friction up front to keep from going a little too long. But on the shorter patterns it works very well, good control as which you need on those lane patterns.
The Fire Road is a ball that is stronger overall than the Victory Road Pearl but weaker than Marvel Pearl.

The Frantic has the same cover as the popular Hy-road (R2S Hybird coverstock) with the N.O.S. core which was used in the 2 Fast and 2 Furious.
Very bright colors in Orange/Green which has great shelf appeal. The Frantic is cleaner through the fronts more angular off the spot than the Hy-road.
Be careful not to drill this ball too strong as the Frantic loves friction and can go sideways off the spot.
But if your looking for a ball for when the lanes get a little broken down, and need to open
the lane up the Frantic is that ball. Storm Sales Rep Doen Moos suggested for me to drill it pin down with a 4 inch pin to create some flare and control the backend motion.
This is exactly what this drilling gave me. As I shot 801 series in league where the pair was more on the hooking side that night, and I just kept chasing it in with great carry.
I compare this ball to being a stronger version of the popular T-Road Pearl.

Dislikes : The Frantic doesn't handle a large amount of oil very well, except maybe for the heavy handed players.

Fringe 45 x 4.25 x 75
The Fringe is a new pearl offering from Storm. It is basically replacing the discontinued 2 Fast. With the new bright Red/Yellow colors the Fringe has great shelf appeal.
The Fringe uses the same N.O.S. core as the Frantic, and Manic, as well as the discontinued 2Fast and 2Furious. This ball has as medium differential of .045 and uses the pearl R2S cover. For me with the some what strong drilling that I put in the Fringe, I find that it has very strong midlane roll and more of smoother backend motion. The Fringe rolls better on the sport and PBA patterns as it a very controllable ball motion. The Fringe is lot tamer off the spot than say the Frantic. The coverstock is very versatile and can be shined or scuffed if needed. Good ball for medium oil conditions.

The new Hy-Road ball is called the HyRoad Max. Great shelf appeal with the bright lime green in color. Storm added the very strong Nex solid reactive coverstock. I drilled mine pin down with 5 inch pin. I also applied Storm Reacta Shine to surface.
For me the Max needs some oil up front, as it rolls pretty early for me. To be honest it so far has been a little conditional for my roll. When its on its pretty good, but when its not I just need to choose a different option. On a side not, bowlers with higher ball speed love this ball as it keeps the ball from going through the breakpoint.
I need to bowl more with the Max and on some longer patterns where it should shine.

The new Storm release is the Hyroad Nano. With the original Hyroad entering its 10 year in the line, you have to expect that the Nano Hyroad would be good. That being said the Hyroad was good for me, just was a little too clean and smooth downlane. Insert the Hyroad Nano, with its 2000 grit finish NRG coverstock and high RG of 2.57 I get both of best worlds. The nano doesn't squirt up front at all, but still stores a lot of reaction downlane for a solid coverstock. But its not a hockey stick reaction, more of a controlled arcing motion at the breakpoint. Best thing is that for me it doesn't lose the hitting power when moving left when they start to hook. A lot of bowlers are considering it is a ball down from the Phase II. As the Phase II has a tendency to lose reaction when they dry up. The Nano would be a good ball to go to. I drilled mine 5 x 4.5 x 4.5 pin down no hole. I can see the Nano being a great benchmark ball for a bowlers arsenal.

The Hyroad Pearl is clean through the fronts with a strong arc motion on the backend.
I have a T-Road Pearl drilled the same, and the Hyroad Pearl is a stronger overall ball motion. Not as skid flippy as T-Road. Plus handles more oil than T-Road and doesn't squirt through fronts.
I drilled the ball with a 4.5 inch pin down with no hole. Thinking about a smoother and controllable ball motion. This is what I got out of the Hyroad ball, smooth and continuous, and carries real well.
This ball will be good on League and Sport conditions.
A very good compliment to the very successful Hyroad !

The Hyroad Solid is the new ball in Storm's Master Line. It features the Inverted Fe² Technology™ weight block wrapped with the proven R2S™ solid reactive shell.
I drilled mine with my favorite drilling 4 1/2 x 4 x 2 3/4 or 45 x 4 1/2 x 45. I added Storm Step 2 to the cover to give me a little extra length. The Hyroad Solid is now my new benchmark ball. Very controllable, and keeps a consistent path to the pocket.
The Hyroad Solid picks up earlier than the original Hyroad and is smoother at the breakpoint. The solid works great for me on the fresh house shots and sport patterns, as it just blends out the over under wet/dry reaction. This ball compliments the original Hyroad very well.

The new Storm Thunder line ball is the Hyroad X. The original Hyroad has been in our line for 10 years so to have a newer version is pretty exciting. I personally drilled around 4-5 Hyroads and had good success with them. The only downfall I had with the original was the over/under reaction that I got. The Hyroad X took care of that reaction for me. I drilled mine 4.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 pin down no hole. I also hit the cover with a 3000 pad. The reaction that I get from the RSX cover is skid/snap. I got a ton of length and strong back motion. I have no problem getting it back if I miss right of target. For a polished solid coverstock I am surprised with how much downlane motion I get from the Hyroad X. In our Storm matchmakers the Hyroad X has been a big hit with all styles of bowlers.

Storm Infinite Physix review by Brian Watson

Lets start to say I'm a big fan of the Storm Physix line which has been a successful line for Storm. Storm used the Rex Pearl coverstock with the Atomic Core. I drilled mine with my standard pin down layout, 5 x 4 x 4. I also applied Storm step 2 to the surface as our house shots are on the drier side. I was real impressed on the length i got out of the Infinite even being Asymmetrical. Also the response time downlane was rather quick and this ball doesn't bog down like some bigger asymmetricals. The infinite is ball down from Gem and Proton. But a ball up from the Phaze 2 and stronger than a Reality or reality check. As the Beef and Barnzy show says weekly on their show with ball recommendations they suggest the Infinite and use your favorite layout!
I have drilled the Infinite for variety of bowlers, down and in players and high rev guys. Both styles were very pleased with the reaction from the Infinite!

The new ball in the Storm Premier Line is the Intense. It come with a new RAD-E™ Core wrapped with the R3S pearl coverstock. This is the same Cover that is on the Snap Lock. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 4.5 pin down. Lets just say this is the strongest Storm Pearl that I have drilled. Hank and the guys at the plant got this one right. For a pearl it has a very strong midlane roll, and its response off the friction is very quick. I actually took an abralon pad to mine to calm down the backend motion down some. Id say its at least 5-6 stronger than Code Red. Its not as early as the Surelock but overall strength is close with the new core. Intense should work very well for all styles of bowlers.

The new release in the Premier line is the Intense Fire. I drilled mine with favorite pin up drilling, 4 x 6 x 2 no hole. For me the original Intense seemed to roll early and really strong in midlane. With the Intense Fire and the R3S Hybird coverstock I actually get a cleaner reaction early and more backend. But I also can throw the Intense Fire on the longer slicker patterns as well, with help of the RAD-E asymmetrical core. The Fire is very continuous for me compared to the original Intense. The other good thing I have noticed with the Fire it is very driller friendly and lots of bowling styles match up with the Fire. Its been a big success at our Storm Matchmakers.

IQ Tour 60 x 4 x 75 Pin Down
Let me first by saying “WOW” about throwing the IQ Tour.
The IQ Tour uses the fast-revving symmetrical C3-Centripetal Control Core with a low differential of .029 in 15 pounders. The Tour uses the R2S solid coverstock (4,000 Abralon box finish). The IQ Tour should be nickname “midlane”. The Tour is a ball that is hard to throw through the breakpoint. This is a ball that just reads the lane the correct way.
Leaving the ball at box finish, I bowled on the Kegel Turnpike pattern and had great control of the pocket. This pattern doesn’t have a lot hold and swing, so it was hard pattern to consistently hit the pocket. But with the IQ Tour strong midlane I was able to create a little miss room and score very well on this pattern.
For league I applied Storm Step 2 Compound as our local houses are on the dry side.
This gave me some added length but still gave me great control of the breakpoint. I could play up the lane or I could circle the lane with the IQ Tour. If you remember the Special Agent, the IQ Tour is very close. Even with the low differential I was amazed with the good hitting power and carry that it delivered. This is a ball that every tournament bowler should have in his or her arsenal. Great product from Storm!

The IQ Tour Pearl "Gold Ball" is one my favorite balls of all time. So when Storm decided to make the IQ Tour 30th , I couldn't wait to drill one up. I drilled mine with the same layout as my Gold Ball so I could see the difference between the 2.
The differences that I see with the 30th is it can handle the puddle a lot better than Gold Ball and is sharper off the spot. The 30th has the same great roll of IQ series but handles the midlane so much better than gold. The 30th didn't over skid through the breakpoint as where the gold sometimes would. Very good 2 ball combo.

With the PBA rules with the hardness change from the USBC. The bowling manufacturers needed make a new urethane bowling ball. Storm came out with the new Storm IQ/78 U. I drilled mine with a 4 inch pin up. With the proven C³ Centripetal Control core and the new Controll 78 Solid Urethane the IQ/78 U is truly straight urethane. I tried the 78U on the shorter sport patterns, 37,38,39 feet. Urethane normally doesn't roll good for me and my roll. But the 78/U pleasantly rolled pretty good. With the core I got decent flare out of the 78/U and the typical smooth transition down lane. I was able to stay on top of the friction longer than a Pitch Black or Zen U. Where those 2 balls normally force me left sooner than the 78/U. It seems that the PBA guys like the new 78/U very well as on their shorter patterns. Bunch of good feedback from the guys. So if your looking for a new urethane for shorter higher friction patterns this is your ball!

The newest ball from Storm is the IQ Tour AI! When you hear of a new IQ bowlers get excited. My personal favorite of bowling ball of all time is Storm IQ Tour Pearl (Gold Ball). So I have always been a big fan of the IQ series. Plus this new IQ Tour as the AI core technology which is huge plus! I drilled mine 4.5x 4 x 1.75 pin up. I have drilled all the IQ tour and to me the IQ Tour AI is the strongest down lane. With the R2S Hybird Coverstock and the AI this new IQ is just one of those ball you put your favorite drilling on this ball and go strike! For me I really can't miss too far right and not hit the pocket on the house shot. When the medium balls start to bog down a little like the Idol series, Rock Star, and the bigger asymmetrical balls it is perfect time to switch to IQ Tour AI. Plus the IQ Tour AI has great shelf appeal with the green and black colors! The IQ Tour AI has a chance at Ball of the Year its that good!

The new IQ Tour Emerald is newer version of the very popular IQ Tour Pearl aka Gold Ball. The Gold Ball is probably my favorite ball of all time from Storm. So to say the least I was pretty pumped to see the Emerald. I drilled mine with my favorite drilling 5.25 x 5 x 2.5 pin up no hole. The Emerald has the same great length and roll of the original. I think the Emerald is just a hair stronger overall with maybe a little stronger motion down lane due to the 2019 R2S coverstock version. I think the Emerald has that different motion in the Storm line that we have been missing for a little while. Throughout our Matchmakers the Emerald has been probably the most popular with all styles of bowlers. I personally think the Emerald is one the best league balls you can buy especially for the wood lanes or lower volume house patters. Also this summer we have seen great success on TV with the PBA guys striking a lot with the Emerald.

The IQ Fusion is the Hybird version in the very popular IQ series. I laid mine out
4 1/2 x 3 x 2 or 30 x 4.5 x 30 with the help from Steve Todd RSM for Storm.
The Fusion is the perfect blend of the pearl and solid IQ's for me. This ball is not as angular as the Gold ball can be , and not quite as early rolling as the solid IQ.
Off the press I used it the last game of league to finish off a 818 series with a 288.
This ball gives me at least one or two extra strikes a game on my so so shots. When I miss a little to right it doesn't over bounce on the dry and when I miss a little left it still has enough strength to pick up in the midlane and still get the ten out. This ball has a very strong arc motion and just carries very well. Very good cover (R2S) core (C3 Centripetal Control Core) combination.
We have drilled several of these balls through the shop for all different styles and they roll exceptionally well. As good as the Gold IQ is, I think the Fusion is better and is going to be a serious contender for the ball of the year in 2014.

Storm introduced the IQ TOUR NANO into the popular Master Line. The IQ Series has become my favorite line from Storm. The Nano uses the NRG™ Solid Reactive Nano coverstock with the low diff C³™ Centripetal Control Core. I drilled mine with my favorite layout 5 x 4 x 3 pin above middle finger. I have a IQ Tour with same drilling. The Nano for me is a little earlier motion and smoother transition off of the spot. Also the Nano can the puddle better than the IQ Tour Solid. The Nano is a very good benchmark ball especially for the tougher sport patterns. Another winner from Storm.

The new ball in one the best lines in the marker today is the Storm IQ Tour Nano Pearl.
Storm took a very successful core in the Centripetal Core and put Nano Peal Reactive coverstock on it. Even with the lower diff core of .029 with the nano pearl cover the IQ can handle more oil up front. I have drilled a couple for my shop customers. I added a little Storm Step 2 and the results were impressive. It gave him a little more hold and smooth backend reaction. The carry with the IQ Nano Pearl is amazing. Definitely stronger than the Original IQ solid and Emerald. IQ Tour Nano Pearl great benchmark ball for anyone's arsenal. If your looking for control and consistency this is the ball for you!

The IQ Tour Pearl- the perfect combination of mid-lane control and backend hook.
We added a new highly polished, pearl R2S™ coverstock to this phenomenal core to create a combination that makes this a MUST HAVE ball in everyone’s arsenal.
The IQ Tour Pearl has great Color and shelve appeal. Very noticeable going down the lane.
I drilled the Pearl just like my IQ Tour Solid, 60 x 4.75 x 40. Thanks Steve Kloempken for the layout.
The IQ Pearl is just what I was needing when the regular IQ Tour started to labor a little down lane. This is where the Pearl shines, when the heads start to go, and you need a little more angle on the back end. But still very controllable ball motion due to the lower differential of .029. This ball is good for all type of bowlers. For me it is going to be a great tournament ball. Also very driller friendly and coverstock is very versatile. This ball will be a very big seller for Storm!

The new addition to the IQ line is the IQ Tour Ruby! Let's just say my favorite Storm ball of all time is the Original IQ Tour Pearl "Gold Ball". So over the years Storm has made a few IQ Tour pearls, 30th Anniv. and Emerald to name a few. Now the IQ Ruby is released and it doesn't disappoint. Great shelf appeal with the bright Red color.
I drilled mine 4.5 x 4 x 2 pin up. I was very impressed with the amount of overall hook that the Ruby has with a low diff core. For me the IQ pearls matches up with my roll perfectly. I can use the Ruby on house shots, usually 2nd and 3rd games when he heads get beat up a little. As the Ruby gives you that skid through fronts with ease, but with the quicker response down lane. Also on the sport patterns the Ruby shines the best when the lanes transition. With the lower RG and low diff, the Ruby is very controllable and stays on line. I have the Ruby below the Revanant, Phaze 5, Night Road and Zen. But stronger than the Hustle, Burner and Tropicals.
I have drilled the Ruby for all styles of bowlers whether for the light or heavy handed players with great success. The Ruby is a must drill for any bowlers arsenal. Its that good of a ball. Thank you to the Storm Plant team for releasing another IQ Pearl!!

The new Belmonte ball in his signature line is the Storm Journey.
I drilled mine with a 4 1/2 x 5 x 2 Pin Up. I hit the surface with 1000 pad and added Storm Step 2. The Journey uses the same core in the Storm Fate, but with a new cover
TX-16 Pearl Reactive. The TX-16 is used on the Phaze 2. Man does a coverstock make a difference, the Fate uses the REX Pearl which is real clean and long, versus the TX-16 pearl is a little early and digs in the midlane. I can see me using the Journey when I want to control the pocket, as its a ball to keep in front of you. For i couldnt open the lane up with the Journey as it was just a little too early for my roll.
When i bowled on a couple sport patterns with more volume the Journey provided a much better ball reaction. To me the Journey is probably the strongest Belmo ball released yet.

Storm has created a new line called the LAB series. The first ball in the Lab line is called the LEVEL.
All new Equalizer A.I. Core wrapped with a new RPM Solid Reactive coverstock. This ball is not urethane thus does not require to have 78 hardness. High RG (2.59) and low Diff (.027) I drilled mine with a strong layout of 4 x 4 x 2. I am a tweener player these days and when using urethane I cannot create shape or area like the higher rev bowlers. So the Level is perfect for my bowling style. I reminds me of the older 1980-90's urethane motion. I compared the Level against my Zen U on a house shot. The level to me was about 6-7 boards stronger than the Zen U. The level had more motion down lane at the breakpoint. Where with the Zen U I had to play much straighter. I have drilled a few for local bowlers and they all tell me the same thing.
Smooth and Controllable! I feel like I have a better chance of success on the shorter sport patters now where before I would struggle with my ball roll. I also think the more surface added the better for me to help create some miss room. Plus the coverstock is unique as it does not absorb oil! Great Addition to the Storm line. Can't wait to see the next ball in the LAB series.

The New Addition to the Storm Premier line is the Lock. The Lock has a new Core design called RAD-X and is wrapped with a new Gl-15 Hybird coverstock.
Thanks to Steve Kloempken for giving me a Layout - 5.25 x 4 x 3.5. The Lock is a very strong asymmetrical ball. Reminds me a little of the Virtual Gravity, with the Lock being a little cleaner through the fronts, thus giving me a little more kick downlane. The Lock is the first Asymmetrical from storm that I am able to use all all 3 games on our league pattern. As long as you keep it in the oil early you will see very good continuation through the pins. Even with the strength of the Lock it is very versatile on all type of oil patterns. Looking forward to using the Lock on Sport and Kegel patterns. Get # LOCKedin

The Lucid uses the new ERG™ coverstock utilizes similar technology from our NRG™ coverstock but without the Nano additive. Evolution Reactive Genesis, ERG for short, is closer to a pure reactive which creates a later break point, putting more emphasis on the backend.
I drilled my Lucid 65 x 5.25 x 65 with the thought in mind to use this ball for medium lane conditions and for league. This is a very strong pearl. With the new cover I've noticed the ball does retain more energy than some of the past Asymmetrical Storm pearls. So this ball and drilling allowed me to open up the lane, and create good angle to carry. I also noticed how the Lucid keeps the pins low and the 6 pin kicks out the 10 with ease.
If you liked the Vivid, then the Lucid would give you more length and kick at the back without sacrificing the mid-lane roll.
I have received a lot of good feedback from bowlers that have thrown this ball, from strokers, tweeners and crankers. Very versatile ball from Storm.

Manic 50 x 5.25 x 70
The Manic from Storm is the new release in the Hot Line replacing the 2Furious. The Manic uses the same N.O.S. core, as well as the R2S cover stock. I drilled the Manic with a 5 ¼ inch pin down. This drilling for me is real rolly and predictable. I like to leave a little surface on this ball to help read the lane better on a variety of conditions. This ball is good on most conditions outside the extremes. The Manic of the spot is end over end roll which creates great carry, as the ball is not coming into pocket with big angles. All styles of bowlers will be able to use this ball on most conditions. The R2S coverstock can be shined or scuff to fit the ball reaction that you are looking for. I’ve recently watched a lot of good bowlers score very well with the Manic from either deep inside angles or up the track. The Manic is very good benchmark ball from Storm.

The Marvel Pearl has great midlane roll with strong backend motion. The pearl is longer and stronger than the original Marvel. But don't let the pearl fool you as this is a very strong rolling ball. On the Scorpion pattern, the Pearl allowed me to play just inside the track and then chase the pattern in. I was surprised how good the pearl handled the midlane oil. As it did not squirt through the breakpoint as some pearls have a tendency to do. Plus with it picking up in the midlane it has great carry.

The Storm Marvel-S uses the Centripetal™ Core wrapped with the strong NRG™ Solid Reactive coverstock. This is the same cover that was used on the Nano.
I drilled mine like the Storm Matchmaker Balls, pin above and between the fingers stacked. This is like a 4 inch pin to pap for me. Lets just say that the Marvel-S is a very strong symmetrical ball. For me this ball will need some oil up front to allow the ball to store some of its power down lane. I was very impressed though with the continuation the Marvel-S had off of the spot, as the previous modern marvel was a little rolly. The Marvel-S had a very strong arc motion and backend, more than I was expecting from such a strong cover. I used the Marvel-S on a couple different house shot and the USBC white pattern. On the house shots I was able to stay in the puddle and open the lane up with great hitting power. On the white pattern I was a little further right but still the Marvel-S was still able to create a very strong arc off the spot with exceptional carry.
This ball will excel on the longer sport and PBA patterns with the strong cover.
I have watched bowlers with lower rev rates really fall in love with this ball as it allowed them to create more miss room, especially when missing left in the puddle.

The Marvel-S is one of the strongest symmetricals balls that Storm has ever made.

The Match solid is the new release in the Storm Hot Line. The match uses the new Stinger Core (0.030 Diff) and wrapped with the Reactor solid coverstock. The Match is a replacement for the Tropical Heats. I drilled mine 4.75x4.75x2.25 pin up. I see a smooth but versatile arcing motion from the Match. It has very good ball motion on the medium to light oil pattern. Ideal ball for most standard house shots. The match is decent step up from the Storm Rides in overall strength. But still under the IQ series.
Another great addition to the Hot Line.

The Storm Match Up Black Pearl is the new addition to the Hot line at Storm. I have found the Match series for me were just okay and they did their job on the lanes. But the Black Pearl is the best one yet out of the Match Up series. With the low end Storm releases I tend to drill them with strong pins. So laid mine out 4.5x4.5x4.5 pin down.
I also applied Storm step 2 on the ball. My first impressions were real good on how smooth and controllable the Black pearl is. I'm a big fan of black coverstocks. The Black Pearl with the Reactor pearl cover fits the core real well. This ball will be great for the wet/dry lane conditions as it does blend out the lane. Even with the storm step 2 on the ball the Black Pearl still was able to read midlane real well to take that over under reaction that I usually get with the low end balls. This is the best Match up in the line in my opinion.

Likes: The Modern Marvel has great midlane roll and strong arc on the backend. This is a very strong overall ball from Storm. With the Centripetal™ core’s symmetrical shape allows the ball to glide through the heads without over skidding and going through the breakpoint. Very controllable backend motion with great hitting power. The Modern is great compliment to the
Marvel Pearl, as when the pearl goes to long then the Modern is great fit.
I had to apply Storm Step 2 compound to throw it on our THS. But on sport patterns where this ball
rolled the best for me. As the Modern allowed me to stay just to left of the friction and be able to continue
to have the pocket.
Great product from Storm... You have great overall hook from a symmetrical core, wrapped in the R2X Hybrid Reactive coverstock.

The new addition in the Hyroad line is the Night Road. The has the very successful Inverted Fe² Technology™ Core (Symmetrical) but with the new REX Pearl cover stock. This cover is also on the Infinite Physix, Dark Code and Fate. I drilled mine with a 4.5 x 4 x 1.75 layout. I am a huge fan of this new REX pearl cover. The cover is earlier and smoother off of the friction. With the original Hyroad cover it can be a little flippy. But the Night Road with the new cover is very controllable. The Night Road has been a great league ball for me lately and even on the fresh. But sometimes the 3rd game is starts to bog down a little, which I can go straight to the Hyroad and be lined up still. I have the Night Road a little similar to the Dark Moss, but its a little more down lane motion. It also shines on the short/medium sport patterns, as it allows to keep things in front of you until they open up a little.
I can usually use the Night Road as a ball down from the Reality Check. I have drilled quite of few of them in the shop. Great Addition to the Storm family!

The Omega Crux uses the new GI-20 Pearl Cover wrapped around the Catalyst Core. I'll be honest I was a little skeptical drilling the Omega because outside the Alpha the Crux series hasn't rolled good for my roll. I took the recommendation from my Storm DSM and drilled it 5 x 5 x 2 which put the pin right above both fingers and put the mass just to the right of my thumb. I added a little Step 2 compound so I could use it for league. I was pleasantly surprised! Very strong asymmetrical pearl. Hard to describe the roll of the Omega, very even to me not too early and not flippy at all. Very hard arching motion, but the carry is unbelievable. The Omega just goes through the pins the right way. When you get lined up you can strike for days. Definitely above a Astro Physixs and below the Crux Prime. The PBA guys absolutely love this ball!

The Storm Optimus is the new ball in the Master Line. Optimus uses the Tri-Sphere™ Core with the successful Pearlized R2X™ coverstock. This is great combination with core and cover. It has similar ball motion to the Marvel pearl, but with a stronger midlane and continues a little more. I drilled mine 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/4 or 50 x 4 1/2 x 35. With this drilling it gives me descent length with a strong continuous arc motion on backend. I have used it on sport and house conditions with good success. I think the Optimus is going to be one those balls that fits everyone's game and style. The carry has been outstanding with this ball. The Optimus is not flippy on the back even with the pearl cover, it has a strong continuous motion. Very readable and predictable ball motion.

The new Premier Storm ball is the Parallax Effect. This is the pearl version of the original Parallax. I found the original Parallax to be very smooth ball reaction.
I've notice in the past with the Storm Pearl covers to me that they seem stronger than the solids and hybird covers. So the Parallax Effect is a stronger ball overall with the pearl cover. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 3 which puts the pin in my middle finger.
I see an earlier midlane roll out of the effect but with a little stronger backend motion.
Reminds me a lot of the Storm Intense Fire. Very controllable motion but can handle more oil than the original. Ive seen bowlers change the surface on the effect and the ball motion is stronger overall. I think it depends a lot on rev rate and speed, but the effect is a very good addition to our Premier line.

The new Storm release in the Master line is the PHASE. Phase has the Velocity Core with the new AX-16 pearl reactive coverstock. The PHASE has very bright colors and great shelf appeal. The PHASE is not your typical Storm ball motion.
Storm's intent with the PHASE was to create a ball motion that would have a good midlane and just roll continuously through the backend. The PHASE is great choice to play up the lane as it is very controllable. It forces me to move right and keep my angles straighter through the heads. The ball hits with a lot of power and carries extremely well. A great addition the Storm Master Line.

The new Phaze bowling ball is the Phaze 4! Storm put one their best covers ever in the R2S pearl. Storm has had huge success of the phaze 2 and Velocity core. So adding a ball with the R2S pearl I was pretty excited. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 2 pin up. I'd agree with fellow staffers that the Phaze 4 isn't a ball that you would use on the fresh. Its just too clean for the fresh. I actually hit mine with a light 2000. But when the phaze 2 starts to labor a little, the next ball is the phaze 4. Very good 2 ball combo. The Phaze 4 still has the good Phaze midlane roll but with the cleaner cover it does have touch more response to friction. I'd the Phaze 4 is below the Idol Helios but above the wolverine and hyroad pearl group. Plus the Phaze 4 has great root beer float smell and is very good looking ball.

The Phaze II is the new ball in the Master Line from Storm. I drilled mine
4 1/4 x 5 x 4 1/4 pin down. First off the Phaze II is totally different shape from the original Phaze. With the new TX-16 (Traction-X 2016) coverstock the Phaze II rolls a little early but for a solid coverstock in has plenty left for the backend. The ball needs a little oil up front to shine, but I was very impressed with the continuation downlane, even on the miss right shots. The Phaze carries extremely well. As a lot of staffers have mentioned that it reminds them of the Marvel S, I'd agree but Phaze II has a lot more backend motion. Another great ball for Storm.

The release date for the Storm Phase III was Dec 13th, 2019 and the buzz is amazing and well justified. Storm has put the shiny R3S Hybird Coverstock on the Velocity core.
WoW This combination gives it great length and more response to friction downlane.
I drilled mine pin down 4 .75 x .4.5 x. 4.5 no hole. On house shots it gives unbelievable amount of miss room and carry. With the Velocity core it still gives you that good midlane read but the R3S cover gets you the nice backend motion bowlers look for in a ball. This is and will be the hottest ball on the market today!
Great ball release from Storm!

Storm's very successful Phaze line has a new addition called the Phaze 5. The Phaze 5 is basically a replacement for the Phaze 4. I recently changed to 14lbs so the RG is a little higher from 2.48 to 2.53 of the 15lbs. Which the higher RG helps me with my roll being a little different. As in the past the phaze series was a little too midlane for me.
I drilled mine 4 x 2.5 x 2 and I hit the cover with a light 2000 pad as the reacta gloss finish doesn't roll very good for me. For me this is the best Phaze release as I get the very good midlane roll, and still has the strong arc motion downlane. Its not as quick response as Fate or Revenant but round enough to go through the pins the correct way.
I'd say its a good ball to go down to when the bigger Asyms like Gem, Reality start to bog down a little. But stronger than the Fate, Revenant, Hyroads.

The Storm ball in the premier line is the Physix. The Physix has a brand new core called the Atomic Core. Which actually has a the Storm logo built in the weight block.
The Physix uses the NRG Hybrid Reactive which is a very strong cover. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 4.5 pin down. I polished it with Storm Reacta Shine. As with big asymmetrical cores and strong covers I have a hard time getting them down lane. With the polish it did the trick as I was presently surprised with how much down lane reaction I got with the Physix. The Physix is earlier than my Code x but not as early as my Halo, but has similar shape down lane as the Code X. So it fills a hole when the Code X isn't early enough but still gives me great continuous motion down lane. Great new addition to the Storm Premier line!

The new urethane ball from Storm is the Pitch Purple. Urethane has been real popular lately on the shorter patterns we see today and with the PBA tour guys. But for me I havent had a lot of success throwing the Hot Cell, Pitch Black, Fever Pitch. My rev rate just isnt high enough with the previous urethane releases. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 2.5. But with the new Pitch Purple I can see myself using this ball more. Especially on the shorter sport patterns and later blocks of tournaments. The Pitch Purple gives a little extra pop at the backend where the other urethanes didn't. Very controllable for me stay on top of the friction. The Pitch Purple id going to great for the sub -500 rev rate bowlers for are looking for the urethane option!

The Promotion is the 3rd ball in the Jason Belmonte signature line. For me the Timeless was decent and had its place for certain lane conditions. But it was a little
squirty at times. The Storm Drive was really early and smooth down lane. Which also for me it ended up being a conditional ball. Now with the Promotion it is a different story. With the new Piston Core and wrapped with the Spec coverstock the Pro-motion can be used for multiple conditions. I drilled mine with a 5 inch pin up with cg stacked. I added step 2 compound to the surface. While the Pro-motion needs some oil up front, but the down lane motion is very controllable. It's hard to explain but the motion is just different than anything we have in the line today very unique motion. I think it fits just below the Phase 2 in overall ball motion but stronger than the IQ series. Or maybe a stronger beefed up version of the IQ tour.

The new addition to the Storm Premier Line is Proton Physix. I have had good success with the regular Physix and Astro. The Proton I drilled pin up 5 .25 x 5 x 2.5.
With the very strong NeX Solid coverstock the Proton for me needs some oil especially up front. I added some shine to the cover and it gave me the extra that I needed.
But this ball is very strong, but with Atomic core it does continue real through the pins.
Compared to the popular Global Reality, I think the Proton has more down lane motion.
If your looking for a Big Ball for longer or higher volume patterns the Proton is your ball!

The Punch Out is Pearl Version of the Wipe Out in the Storm's Hot line. I drilled mine 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 x 2 1/2 or 40 x 4 3/4 x 40. The reason I chose this drilling was to try and slow down the response time when this ball sees the friction. The Punch Out is very angular down lane off of the spot. The drilling did just that for me, as the ball is very strong at the breakpoint but controllable. I have used this ball on house shots and sports conditions. But on house shots I need to wait till 2nd or 3rd game as it is too strong on the fresh. Same for the sport shots, when the pattern transitions and blends out and I need to get left this is where the Punch Out shines. As I able move in and have plenty of recovery and hitting power. Very good and strong ball for the price point.

The Storm Reign of Power is the new symmetrical in the Thunder Line. The Reign of Power uses the successful C.A.M.™ core and wrapped with PFT™ - Progressive Friction Technology Solid Reactive coverstock.
I drilled mine 5.25 x 4.5 x 2.75 pin up. I had a lot of success with the original Reign and was happy to see Storm produce a new ball in that series. The Reign of Power has a very even amount of hook to it. The ball rolls a little early and very smooth on the backend. The ROP is great ball to use on the fresh conditions. Also a good option for the flatter patterns and sport conditions. This ball gives the bowler great control of you ball reaction. As this ball does not over react to the friction.
ROP is great addition to the Storm Thunder Line as most of Storm bowling balls has the great down lane move. The ROP gives them a smoother option to help control the backends.
If you are looking for something smoother down lane, the Reign of Power is the smoothest ball in Storm's lineup.

The Storm Reign On uses the C.A.M.™ (Continuous Axis Migration) weight block, wrapped with R2S™ Hybrid Reactive coverstock.
I drilled mine 4 5/8 x 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 and added Storm Step 2.
Most of the balls in the Reign Series are kinda forward or rolly for me.
So with this in mind that is why I chose the layout above. The Reign On has more motion down lane than the Reign Of Power, but still has a overall smooth reaction.
Which this reaction is great for bowling on the fresh conditions. Also for the several house shots that have the wet/dry look to them. This ball for me will be a good one to use to help control the lane and keep the ball on line to the pocket.
Also when the other Angular Storm balls are just a little too much on the backend, the Reign On will help smooth out that reaction.
I think this ball is a step up from the IQ Tours and beneath the Hyroad Pearl and Marvel-S.

Another great addition the Storm Family! #StormNation

The Storm Replacement of the Spectre is the new Storm Revenant! I drilled mine 3 3/4 x 4 x 2 and took the surface down to 500-1000 and added Step 2 to get the Revenant close as I could to the original Spectre. I personally this the Revenant is very close to the Spectre reaction wise. If anything to me it might be a little smoother than the Spectre on the backend. As the Spectre was very very popular amongst all bowlers! I have drilled at least 4-5 Revenants in my shop and all my customers are very happy with the reaction. One bowler shot 800 right of the press with the Revenant. I have my Revenant under my Fate but above the IQ's and Hustle's.
Revenant shines the most to me when the heads start to go and I need to move left and open up my angles. Glad Storm brought back this motion into the line!

The Ride is the new ball in the Hot line from Storm. This ball fills the gap between the Punch Out and the Tropical Breeze line. High Rev guys will love this ball for its control and ability to play further right when other ball tend to start to labor down lane. The Ride is also a good fit for bowlers with lower ball speeds as it is very clean through the fronts. Don't be afraid to drill it with a stronger pin, as this will help give the ball more flare and better shape. Too weak of a drill will affect carry. I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 2 3/4 pin up. I am able to use this ball on the drier league shots (3rd game) and also on the shorter Kegel and sport patterns. The Ride is very controllable and has a smooth transition off of breakpoint. So when the heads and mids start to go, the Ride is a good matchup. Another great addition the Storm Lineup.

The Rocket Ship is the solid reactive version in the Rocket Series. I found the Sky Rocket to be extremely clean through the fronts and the Rocket to be a little on the flippy side. The Rocket Ship is right in between the 2. I drilled mine with 4 3/4x4 1/2x3 pin up. I saw an early motion with a nice arc to the backend. I also applied Storm reacta shine to help get it down the lane. I really liked the Rocket Ship on the Kegel Sport shots that I bowled on this summer. Very smooth and predictable.
For house shots I had to play in the puddle a little more to store some energy.
It is just has a different motion overall than the other 2 Rockets. Great benchmark ball.

The new addition to the Storm Thunder Line is the Sky Rocket. This is the Pearl version of the Rocket. The pearl cover is great compliment to the Rocket's Hybrid cover. Th Sky has a lot of backend reaction, but more of the hard rolly type. I drilled mine with favorite layout 5 x 4 x 3 pin up. I've used it on house shots and tournament patterns. On house for me the Sky was a little too much on the back, forced me too deep to early. But was much better when the pattern broke down a little. On tournament patterns, I applied a light 2000 pattern to help smooth out the reaction and give me more control. Another great release from Storm.

The Snap Lock is the newest addition to the Premier Line. I am a huge fan of the original Lock. I really like the ball motion with the lock as it allowed me to use it on variety of patterns. The down fall was I couldn't use it for a whole set or block. Well now I can change to the Snap Lock. With the R3S Pearl coverstock it allows me to stay in the same zone but yet get through the fronts a lot cleaner. With the R3S I say that it is a least 5 boards stronger than the Crux pearl downlane. With a great color scheme and scent the SnapLock is going to be a great addition to the Storm Family.

The SONiQ features a new version of the Centripetal HD core giving this ball an RG of 2.47 and a Diff of 0.047 wrapped around the very successful R2S Pearl cover.
With the letters IQ in the name you know this is going to be a great ball. One of my favorite balls of all time is the IQ Tour Pearl. So I was pretty excited to drill the Son!Q with have the same great cover. But the Son!Q has a lower RG and higher diff. Which it creates great ball reaction. I drilled mine pin down, 4.5 x 4 x 4.5 no hole.
For me I get a ball that reads the mids just enough to keep it from squirting and have a hard arcing motion downlane not flippy.
A very good addition to the Storm Line!

The addition to the Storm Thunder Line is the Spectre. Spectre comes with the R3S pearl coverstock. I first threw the Spectre at one of the Matchmakers and noticed real quick how smooth this bowling ball was. Spectre doesn't have the skid snap motion at all. I drilled mine pin down with a 5 inch pin from PAP. Clean and strong continuous arc motion is what I saw from the Spectre. With the pearl coverstock, it doesn't like the big puddle that most house shots have. But when the fronts burn up a little the Spectre comes alive. Also in later blocks and or shorter patterns. But for me the spectre ball motion is very unique, hard to explain but spectre just goes through the pins the right way. When you bigger balls like Dark Code, Nova start to labor a little Spectre is a great ball to go to.

The Street Fight is the new addition to the Master Line from Storm. It is the pearl version of the original Fight. I thought the Fight okay but it sometimes acted like the cover was too strong for the cover/core combo. Well the Street Fight with the pearl cover did the trick. Much cleaner through the fronts, and still keeping the same controlled rolling motion. Thus is is a lot more predictable and stronger on the backend. The cover takes surface adjustments really well. I have used it with 1000 grit and all the way up to Shine. A great addition to the Storm Family.

The new ball in the Storm family is the Summit. The Summit has the TX-23 hybrid cover wrapped around the modified Centripetal HD core. Centripetal HD weight block is surrounded by the ALL-NEW A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core.
Shout out to Hank Boomershine, Alex Hoskins and R/D team at Storm for raising the bar in bowling ball technology. I drilled my Summit 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 x 1. I went with a shorter pin buffer to help the response down lane. Lets just say this ball is very strong for a symmetrical. I put a little step 2 on mine and bowled on 45ft Dick Weber pattern, The summit allowed me to control the pocket, and carry well. Its very hard to throw the Summit through the breakpoint which is a good feeling. The Summit is just different especially on off hits. Even since I switched to 14lb because of a bad knee, usually I like to throw the bigger asymmetricals but the Summit is plenty strong enough to go through the pins. I have the summit stronger than the Phaze 2 and below the bigger balls like a RG Gem, Global Reality. If your looking for a strong rolling symmetrical that carries real well the Summit is your ball!

The new ball in the Storm Master Line is the Summit Ascent. This is the 3rd ball of Summit series. The Summit Ascent uses the Centripetal HD packed inside the A.I. core. The Summit is wrapped in R2S solid coverstock. The original Summit had a little early rolling motion, the Summit Peak with the pearl cover was a strong rolling pearl. The Ascent with the R2S is perfect combo of cover and core. I drilled mine pin up 4 x 4 x 2 and added Storm Step 2. The Ascent is so predictable. It's not the hockey stick reaction, very controllable arcy motion. Think a stronger IQ solid motion. I like it a lot on a wet dry house pattern as it is just strong enough in the oil, but doesn't bounce of the dry. 2 handers like it also as with their higher rev rate it just doesn't over react downlane. Great addition to the Storm Line.

The new ball in the Storm Master line is the Summit Peak. This is pearl version of the popular Summit. I drilled mine the same as the original 4 1/2 x 4 x 1 3/4 pin up.
I was a big fan of the original Summit. But with our league pattern the summit can start to bog down a little late in 2nd game. So perfect time for the summit peak. The Summit peak still has that strong mid lane roll but just a cleaner cover with added length. Personally I think the Peak is a great league ball! I have used the peak with good success on the medium sport patterns. Very versatile ball, as I have drilled several in the shop for all styles. Plus I have noticed with the A.I. Core Technology I seem to carry the light and off hits more. Good looking ball with great shelf appeal.
I have the Summit Peak a ball down from the Summit, Phaze II, or the bigger Asymmetricals. Stronger than the IQ's, Hustle lines.

The new ball in the Storm Master line is the Super Son!Q. The Super uses the strong
NRG Hybird Reactive Coverstock, same cover used on the Physix, along with the Centripetal HD core. With the low RG and strong cover the SS digs in early in the midlane but still has good continuation through the pins. I have the SS below my Physix's and above the IQ tour and original Soniq. The motion is similar to a Phase II with a smoother backend reaction. The cover is very versatile as I have used it with surface and with step 2 with great results. I drilled mine 4.5 x 4.5 x 4.5 pin down.
A great ball to the Master line!

The new ball from Storm is the Sure Lock. The Sure Lock is the solid cover version of the original Lock. I was a huge fan of the Lock, but the Sure Lock may be the strongest ball I've thrown for awhile. It has great overall hook, but the Sure Lock has more backend motion even for a strong asymmetrical core. At the last couple tournaments that I've bowled lately there was a lot of the Sure Lock on several pairs. The interesting thing was that there was several different styles throwing the Sure Lock. Bowlers were playing out around the track and some playing the deep inside line, all with great success. Very good addition to the Storm Premier Line.

The Storm Sync is newest Asymmetrical ball from Storm. The Sync is the strongest Asymmetrical ball Storm has ever made. It uses the G2 Core and wrapped with NRG™ Solid Reactive coverstock.
I drilled mine 5 1/4 x 4.5 x 3.25 , pin up. I have bowled with the Sync just on a couple league conditions. The Sync is strong smooth continuous rolling ball.
For me the Sync rolls a little early but reads the midlane real well and has a nice continuous motion on the back. It has a strong roll, not an angular motion on the back. But with this motion, the carry is unbelievable. I started one league night with the front 19 with most the strikes the pins went straight back.
Just a note for heavy handed players, that the Sync can have a tendency to roll too early. So make sure that you not drill the SYNC with strong MB. Keep the MB down.
The SYNC best attribute is the overall hook it has with continuous motion off the spot.
Another great ball from Storm!

The new Storm ball in the signature line is Belmo's Timeless. Storm has done its homework in the research and development of the Timeless. Along with the insights from Belmo. I drilled mine 4.25x4.25x4.5 or 45x4.25x75 pin down. Let me just mention that the Timeless is just different. The ball reaction is unique, nothing like any other ball that I have drilled. For some its the biggest backend ball that they have drilled. For others it is nice controlled arcing motion. Which what I have with the timeless. The timeless just goes through the pins the right way, which gives you great carry. You don't have to be a high rev player to throw the Timeless, at the Storm Match Maker events it was our most popular ball from all styles.

The Torrent is the newest ball in Storm's Thunder line. Its has the solid R2S Coverstock with the Booster HV core. I drilled mine 5x4.5x4.5 60x5x70 pin down no hole. I personally think the Torrent has similar ball motion like the Optimus Solid with more backend motion. The overall strength of the Torrent is its smooth continuous
ball reaction. It doesnt rev up too early or jump too hard off the friction. I think it would be a lefty's dream ball to play up the boards. Also the Torrent was a great choice for USBC nationals in Vegas and other sport patterns. Torrent is a good fit for anyone's tournament/ league arsenal.

The new Jason Belmonte Signature line ball is the Storm Trend. Following the Jason releases Drive , Timeless and Promotion I think they have gotten better with each release. The new Storm Trend with the arguably Storm's best cover in R2S pearl is very clean and responsive to friction down lane. But to me with the Piston Core the motion is controllable but very strong back end motion. I drilled mine standard pin up above bridge with a small shift of cg. 5 x 4.5 x 2. I have the Trend above the IQ Emerald and just below the Phaze 3. When the Phaze 3 gets a little too forward off the spot and you need a little more angle, the Trend would be a good fit.
We have better options for the fresh as the Trend can be a little too much downlane on the fresh. But when the patterns starts to blend a little and heads burn up a little that is when the Trend really likes to shine. Probably the best Belmo ball yet!

The new Jason Belmonte signature line ball is the Storm Trend 2. I personally think each of his bowling balls have just gotten better with each new release. The Trend 2 is really good and the best ones out of the signature line! I drilled mine with a 5 inch pin down and took the shine off with a 3000 pad. WoW this ball hooks. The piston core was altered in the latest version of the Trend featuring a higher RG and lower differential with a Hybird coverstock ( NRG Hybrid Reactive). This by far is the best Belmo that Storm has produced. More overall hook than I expected.

The Tropical Breeze is a great dry lane ball. The Breeze with the pearl reactor cover and low differential of .009 allows this ball to get down the lane with the greatest of ease.
But still has plenty of hitting power on the backend. But the good thing is the Breeze doesn't overreact to the dry back-ends.
The Breeze is great choice to bowl on wood lanes and or when the heads are hooking and you are having a hard time to get the ball to push down lane.
I've have used the Breeze on 3rd games in our one center when the volume of oil is on the low side. It allows me to stay further right and near the track which helps my carry greatly. When the natural or natural pearls start hooking too early drill up a Breeze ! The heavy handed players will be able to grip it an rip it with great control of the lane pattern. A great dry lane ball from Storm.

Very Good ball especially for the price point.

The Tropical Heat Solid is a very good compliment to the Tropical Heat Pearls. The solid picks up a little earlier in the midlane, and still has plenty of backend. But is more on the strong arc side. This is a great ball for the house patterns as it handles the wet/dry better than the pearls. The solid also
handles the medium to short PBA and sport patterns with good success. Even with the low differential the solid still has plenty of hitting power. Another great ball by Storm.

The new addition to the Storm Hot Line is the Storm Typhoon. First off must say the Typhoon has great shelf appeal and great Grape Punch scent. I drilled my Typhoon 4.5 x 4 x 1 3/4 pin up. The Typhoon has the Atmos A.I. Core with the Reactor Pearl coverstock. The Reactor coverstock was used recently on the very successful Tropical Heat series. Which was great low end bowling balls with good mid performance value.
The Typhoon is very clean and smooth roll for a .042 diff core. I have used the Typhoon on our wet/dry house shot. Straighter through the fronts was a better reaction for me. As our house shot has a lot of friction to the right. When the Typhoon hits the friction it wasnt sideways but a very strong response to the dry. For me and my unique roll I really need to add some surface to the Typhoon to blend it out a little. The Typhoon has more motion down lane that say a Exponent Solid and is overall stronger than the RG Hustle Series. For me I can see the Typhoon getting used during the 3rd game of league or later blocks in tournaments.

The Victory Road Solid is a great compliment to the Victory Road. Where the Victory Road is more of a skid/flip reaction, the Solid gives you the smooth arc reaction. The VR Solid would make a good benchmark ball. On the Chameleon pattern the solid had good midlane control with strong arc reaction down lane, just what you need on PBA/Sport patterns. Where the pearl was to angular off the spot. The carry has been real good with the solid. On the house pattern the solid shines the best on the fresh, as it controls the backends very well. As like most house patterns they tend to be very wet/dry. The Solid will be one of my favorite Storm's as this ball is just so predictable on all the patterns. Thanks Doene Moos for the layout!

The new release in the Storm signature line is the Virtual Energy Blackout (VEBO).
I also agree with a lot of staffers, most if not all black bowling balls are very good!
The VEBO is no different, it has been a huge hit for Storm. The VEBO features the Shape-lock HD core with the new REX Pearl coverstock. I drilled mine with 4 inch pin up. (4 x 5 x 2 ). I did change the surface to Storm Step 2. Honestly not a big fan of the Reacta Gloss. I used the VEBO on 42ft house shot and on a couple Sport patterns.
The VEBO is very clean and angular downlane. I have drilled a few at the shop for a low rev down and in guy and he absolutely loves it, it gives him the backend from the VEBO which he needs to help to get the ten out. For the 2 handers it gives them a large amount of miss room! Very hard for them to throw it through the breakpoint. Which is a good feeling knowing they can still throw it hard and still get it back.
To compare it to my dark code with same drilling, the VEBO is cleaner and much sharper on the back and higher response to friction. Where the Dark Code is more rounded. If your wanting a stand left and throw right and strike a lot the VEBO is your ball! Going to be a huge seller for Storm!

I like how the Nano Pearl clears the fronts for a strong Asymmetrical ball. Reads the midlane very well and has a strong continuous backend motion. This is a great compliment to the original Nano.
On the Turnpike Pattern I was able to play next to track and just chase it in, without sacrificing carry.
This is a very strong pearl from Storm. The Pearl would be a great fit for all styles of bowlers. For the heavy handed players who had a harder time getting the ball through the fronts with the original Nano the pearl is just what you need. If you feel like the pearl is going a little too far, I've hit it with a 2000 abralon by hand and that did the trick. The ball read just a about a foot early and still had great continuation through the pins and gave me more room at the breakpoint.

Storm Wipe Out Ball Review by Brian Watson

The Storm Wipeout uses the successful Turbine Core wrapped with R2S Solid Reactive Coverstock.

This is a solid version of the Lights out. I drilled mine Wipeout 4 1⁄2 x 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 has a very smooth arc motion on the backend, and is very controllable. This motion reminds be a lot of the Storm 2Furious.

I have good success using the ball on the fresh on house shot and on medium sport patterns. Also the Wipe Out is a good choice on the Wet/Dry conditions as it blends out the ball motion real well.

The response time off of the dry is slower , thus giving a clean controllable motion at the breakpoint.

The Cover is very versatile and I use Storm Step 2 when I need a little more length. This is a great fit In the Hot Line and a lot of ball for the price point.

I laid the Storm Zero Gravity 30 x 4.5 x 30 or 4 x 3 1/4 x 1 3/4. I agree with most of the Staffers as the Zero is the IQ Tour Solid on steroids. Storm's intent with the Zero was for the bowlers to be able to use stay with this ball longer and to help the crankers to be able use it on more variety of patters. Storm took one of the most successful balls ever in the Virtual Gravity and lowered the diff (.037) and raised the RG (2.55) and added a modern coverstock ERG™ Solid Reactive. Dont be afraid to drill the Zero with a strong layout. This ball is asymmetrical and picks up very well in the midlane and continues on the backend. Very smooth, controllable rolling bowling ball and keeps the pins low.
I have only thrown this ball in league so far with great success. Cant wait to throw it on sport patterns and at USBC's in Reno.
