bowlingball.com is happy to offer professional drilling service on all bowling balls, a convenient service that can save you time and money! We have a full staff of professionals on site with over 80 years of pro shop and ball drilling experience. We use a top of the line Milling System that enables our professional staff to drill all equipment with pin-point precision. Getting your new bowling ball professionally drilled just got easier!
bowlingball.com offers four types of drilling services to meet your bowling needs:
Custom Drilling Service
This service is recommended for advanced bowlers who currently own their own custom fit bowling ball. Custom drilling services can cost anywhere from $30 to $40. Installation of finger inserts, thumb slugs, switch grips, and thumb molds are also available for purchase with custom drilled bowling balls for an additional fee. With custom drillings, you will have the option to select a drilling layout.
If you would like bowlingball.com to copy your current bowling ball, we will send you a FedEx shipping label FREE OF CHARGE in order to copy your hand measurements (span, pitches, etc.) from your existing ball. They will be stored and kept on file, allowing us to drill your future bowling balls without the need of your existing ball. We will ship your old bowling ball along with your new order back to you FREE OF CHARGE. We will even resurface your old bowling ball, if you choose, for FREE while we have it, restoring it to factory finish. We will also drill the ball to the exact layout you have chosen, layouts are on every performance ball product page details.
Standard Drilling Service
This service is recommended for the recreational bowler who would like to own their own bowling ball. This is a standard conventional layout using an average for the span and hole sizes. Standard drilling services cost between $10 to $25. With Standard drilling, all three holes (both fingers and thumb) must be drilled. Finger inserts cannot be installed in Standard drillings.
NEW 2-Handed/No Thumb Drilling Service
bowlingball.com now offers drilling services for 2-Handed/No Thumb bowlers. We offer both our Custom Drilling Service as well as a Standard Drilling Service.
Just like our other drilling services, with Custom Drilling you can specify your finger hole style (finger inserts, no finger inserts, conventional, etc.), your finger pitches, and specify your drilling layout.
Our Standard Drilling Service will allow you to select the hand orientation and hole sizes. All balls will be drilled using a manufacturer's recommended layout. The chart below will still be used for finger hole sizes, there will be no span or thumb hole if this option is selected.
