I desire to offer more than 25 years of bowling, coaching and leadership experience to your institution. Through my experience as both a high school bowler and high school bowling coach, I have consistently improved my abilities in leadership, rapport building and interpersonal communication. I am certain that my natural ability, formal education, experience and passion, when applied to your goals (goals of your institution), will serve to create a formula for success.
I come from a long familial tradition of ardent bowlers. This tradition of a passion for bowling helped to shape my adolescence and still burns brightly. In the years before bowling was a recognized high school sport, I regularly participated in weekly youth leagues. Later, I bowled on the school’s varsity team for my Junior and Senior years, and placed 5th in the 2002 Youth American Bowling Alliance (YABA) Michigan State Tournament.
In regards to my formal education, I have earned an Associate’s Degree from Lansing Community College and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. Currently, I am continuing my education at Ohio University where I am pursuing a Master’s Degree in Recreation and Sports Sciences, with a concentration in Coaching Education.
In addition to my formal education, I also served as a high school bowling coach at Burton Bendle High School. Working as a bowling coach has allowed me to use the sport that I love as a conduit to positively affect the next generation of young bowlers. I am a Level I certified coach and registered volunteer through the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and completed my USBC Bronze Level coaching certification on May 30th.
From my former positions as Assistant Coach and Head Coach, I have coached more than 45 high school bowlers. My coaching experience includes three consecutive years of team and individual appearances at the Michigan State tournament. Noteworthy is the 2013-2014 season when our team went on to finish the season undefeated (11-0) culminating by winning the school's first conference and regional titles in the sport of bowling and an 8th place finish in the Michigan state tournament.
As there is considerably more to relate, I look forward to the opportunity to meet and discuss how, I, as a bowling coach, I can use my experience, education and passion to further your bowling/bowling program.
