If you are a fairly new bowler and trying to improve your game, then it is important to know that the right bowling accessories matter.
Avoiding being unprepared is the goal every aspiring bowler must embrace. The details matter most during competition. Simple accessory items can make the difference between making a few more good shots than not when bowling in competition.
Let’s address the key accessory items you may wish to add to your bowling bag.
First, bowling tape is a hugely important accessory item. If your thumb hole (any gripping holes for that matter) becomes loose, adding bowling tape to fill the excess space inside the hole is important so you maintain a good grip on the ball and do not have to squeeze so hard to hang on that you make errant deliveries.
Bowling tape is available in textured and smooth surfaces to give you the just the right feel inside the ball. It is key to any successful player that maintaining a good grip on the ball where you can make consistent deliveries is vital to good shotmaking.
The next important accessory item you must have in your bag is a bowling towel. It is a simple task to keep the surface of your bowling ball clean and void of dirt, lane oil, or rubber marks from the ball return units.
Bowling towels are available in a microfiber material which absorbs up to seven times the moisture as does a linen towel.

Adding bowling ball cleaner liquid to your bag accompanying your towel is also key to keeping your ball surface clean during competition. Some cleaners are cleared for us during USBC competition and can be applied to clean your ball surface between frames if you so choose.
If you perspire a great deal, then adding a resin bag or grip sack to your accessory pouch in addition to a bowling towel is useful to keep your hand dry to ensure a proper grip on your bowling ball.
As you progress in the game, you may also wish to add grit pads to your accessory pouch. Grit pads come in varying textures so you can alter the surface of your ball to achieve the right amount of traction on the lane depending on the oil conditions.
There can be no doubt that these key accessory items should be a staple in every bowler’s bag. Make sure you have the right accessory items in your bag which will aid your development in the game.
