The Pursuit is a Mass Bias bowling ball with a low initial Mass Bias Rating of .008. The Pursuit uses the Empire Core which allows Pro Shop Technicians the opportunity to change Mass Bias properties in the drilling process to match the ball shape the bowler is looking for on the lane. As a result of the unique shape of the Empire core, you can change the values of RG and Differential at the same rate when drilling making this a very versatile core design.
The coverstock is the most exciting part of the new Pursuit Series because of the new chemistry which increases the coverstock durability and longevity. During manufacturing, each Pursuit ball makes its way to the finish line where they are treated chemically in order to open the pores and achieve optimal performance. Through the testing phase, Ebonite worked on multiple surface options that would allow the Pursuit balls to maintain length, but still offer strong backend continuation. The best possible surface tested is 800 Abralon and 1500 Abranet coverstock finish. This new cover system offers longer and greater performance than other industry MDI covers currently used.
