Welcome back to the 3rd vlog; I mean blog with BowlingBall.com on improving your bowling game. I hope these articles have been helpful for you in improving your bowling game or preparation, but if they haven't, please let me know, and I will try to do better for you.

We discussed preparing for your upcoming bowling tournament in the last article, but I left out a few details. So today, we will discuss setting up your best six-ball arsenal that will help better prepare you for your next tournament. This arsenal will be a good starting point, especially when unaware of the oil pattern in your upcoming competition. We want this arsenal to be diverse with different reactions instead of five similar bowling balls in your bag.

The description of these bowling balls is how I would describe them myself. These are bowling balls that I would see fit my arsenal and everyone else. We're also going to use Motiv bowling balls as a reference, but if you do not throw Motiv, you will have to find something similar. One last thing to preface is that this is also my opinion of how an arsenal should look like, as other people may differ. Let's get started.

Strong Asymmetric Ball

• I love these bowling balls on longer slicker lane conditions
• Due to the asymmetric core, you can also use it on shorter patterns rolling it to get it to hook and stop instead of a sideways reaction
• Solid covers are ideal because it makes the oil pattern predictable
• Perfect Ball: Jackal Legacy or Jackal Ghost

Strong Asymmetric or Symmetric Pearl Ball

Being left-handed, I find picking this bowling ball very tricky when traveling. Typically I would prefer a solid symmetric pearl bowling ball, but I will give reasons for the bowling balls as they can be considered the same.

• Cleaner bowling ball through the front part of the lanes
• Ball down from your strong asymmetric solid ball when it begins leaving a flat 10 or 4 pin (If you're right-handed)
• Symmetric will store more energy down lane
• With higher volumes now, need these stronger bowling balls to hook in the oil
• Great compliment when you need something stronger than your benchmark bowling ball
• Perfect Ball: Iron Forge or RipCord Velocity

Benchmark Ball

• Typically a solid symmetric bowling ball
• A very predictable ball that allows a better understanding of the pattern
• Your favorite bowling ball or have the most confidence in
• It can be versatile on all patterns
• It gives you a consistent read to either use a stronger or weaker bowling ball
• Perfect Ball: Forge Flare

Symmetric Ball Of Choice

• A personal favorite as it gives me a different option in predictability
• Can be Solid, Hybrid, or Pearl cover stock
• Preferably hybrid cover stock to give you a different length
• Another option of versatility but would look at other RG numbers such as 2.53 or more
• Perfect Ball: Venom Shock

Skid Snappy Ball

• Late in the block, bowling ball when the front part of the lanes are hooking
• Perfect when the ball is hooking too much down the lane
• When in need of a ball to store more energy down lane
• Pearl bowling balls are ideal with 2.55 RG or higher
• Perfect late in the day on 39 feet or longer
• Perfect Ball: Supra Enzo

Urethane/Plastic ball

• Personal preference on throwing plastic or urethane at spares
• If you can throw urethane at spares, then it will add a different option to your bag
• Urethane is great option on shorter or flatter patterns
• It keeps you safe and out of trouble
• Perfect for patterns under 41 feet in length (sometimes longer nowadays)
• Perfect Ball: Motiv Tank

I hope these tip on building a bowling ball arsenal helps. As I said, this is just a guide, and people can change their arsenal based on personal preference.
