The Brick is the absolute toughest ball from Hammer in some time. Hammer has constructed added strength to the core by means of a Mirror Plane Asymmetric design that opens up the drilling options for the bowler. The new MPA core design is completely asymmetric in shape, a highly unusual feature of the ball. The core is not high mass bias, however the low RG is not in the geometric center of the ball. This core shape was designed for a specific purpose of allowing a pro shop operator to tweak ball motion by making small layout changes when drilling the Brick. Those small layout changes will produce bigger performance changes in ball motion for the bowler than does other fine Hammer products.
With a core as special as the Brick MPA, you have to make sure you have a coverstock that makes the most of the core's performance. The Brick is ready to tackle medium to medium-heavy oil conditions with the Grand Theft Reactive Hybrid coverstock and a 2000 grit Abralon finish. The factory finish is a 4-stage process using grit pads from 500/500/1000/2000 to develop a layered texture to the ball surface enabling the Brick to slide easily through the front end of the lane given the sanded texture finish out-of-the-box. In short, and it must be stated, this ball hits like a Brick!
