YES Fund Awards Grants To Four High School Bowling Programs

The Youth Education Services Fund recently awarded four high schools located in Kentucky, Louisiana and Minnesota $2,500 grant each for their bowling programs.

This High School Grant program is run by IBC (International Bowling Campus) and provides up to four grants each year to high schools. These grants may be used to help start new bowling programs at schools that do not have them or to aid existing bowling programs financially.

The schools that received grants most recently were:

- Paducah Tilghman High School, Paducah, KY

-Warren East High School, Bowling Green, KY

-St. Augustine High School, New Orleans LA

-Sibley East High School, Arlington, MN

In their first year of the school-sponsored bowling program, Paducah Tilghman High School has grown from a “club” to a full team, thanks to the 24 students who joined for the inaugural competitive team. The grant will be used to help purchase extra equipment and will cover tournament and travel fees.

Warren East High School has well-established boys and girls teams. The grant will be used to fund the programs directly. Some fundraising programs will help to cover other expenses.

Sibley East High School also has a standing bowling team program. They intend to use this grant to purchase new jerseys and bowling supplies.

St. Augustine High School orchestrates a 10-week fall league in preparation for varsity season. With at least 55 schools in the New Orleans area that participate, the grant will be used to help ease the cost of fees for varsity season, including travel and additional equipment.

The High School Grant Program is a joint initiative of the BPAA and USBC and is supported by some of the top bowling brands in the industry.
