Rev Up Your Bowling Game

If you wish to improve your average and move up from the 140 - 160 range, then rev up your bowling game.

Everyone gets in a bowling rut from time to time. If you cannot seem to snap out of your bowling doldrums, then there is a simple strategy to increase your bowling scores.

It is a likelihood that you think this strategy has to do with physical game matters, like footwork or swing and release techniques. Instead, focus on strike alignment, strike adjustments, and improving your spare shooting.

Hitting the pocket consistently is the first step to increasing your average because you will improve your strike percentage each competitive outing.

When not striking, you will leave very makeable spares.

Initial alignment to the pocket can be established during warm-up deliveries or the first couple of frames of competition.

Playing the lanes and using the oil pattern to your advantage always is an asset because you will hit the pocket repeatedly.

Once you no longer can hit the pocket because the lanes have changed as people on your pair of lanes have moved lane conditioner, then it is time to make a simple adjustment to restore your ability to hit the pocket.

There are a number of adjustments you can use to find the pocket after the lanes change but usually an angle change is your first line of defense.

Once you learn how much to adjust your feet positioning on the approach and how far to adjust your sighting target correspondingly, then your ability to restore your pocket hitting percentage increases.

You cannot work hard enough at becoming a good spare shooter.

If you are seriously looking to increase your average, be bold and dare yourself to become a great spare shooter.

The formula is to align yourself quickly to the pocket, make adjustments when the lanes change, and convert spares when you are not striking.

It is possible to raise your average significantly without extensive changes to your physical game, although developing a sound physical game certainly helps.

If you develop a reliable strike alignment system, then make simple lane angle adjustments as the lanes change, you will begin to hit the pocket again.

Picking up spares will fill the frames and make your doubles and three-baggers count.

That is how you raise your scores and, correspondingly, your average.
