Release The Bowling Ball Close To The Same Moment Each Delivery

If you are averaging 160 or less, then it might be possible you are releasing your bowling ball inconsistently.

It is known that high average players tend to release the bowling ball close to the same moment each delivery.

Low average bowlers tend to let the ball go too soon or hang onto the ball too long which produces an inconsistent range of deliveries.

If you can learn to let the ball go at or near the shoelaces of your sliding bowling shoe repeatedly, your loft distance will improve, your skid distance control will improve, and your overall control and accuracy will improve.

There are a few tips you can follow to help regulate the right moment to let the ball go from your bowling hand relative to your sliding bowling shoe:

Retain some knee flex and keep your body in an athletic posture as you walk to the foul line.

Avoid dropping your bowling shoulder excessively at the moment you release your ball.

Avoid rushing your final two steps faster than you routinely walk to the foul line.

Strive to deliver your ball as close to the same ball speed each shot as possible.

Keep your head still and avoid pulling your head up at the moment you are releasing the bowling ball.

Release your hand from the ball below your sliding knee level at the mid-point of your calf on your sliding bowling leg.

Your bowling ball needs to enter the lane surface at a gradual angle of descent to avoid bouncing and altering the desired skid distance in the front portion of the lane.

Your ball must clear the foul line by not losing the ball prematurely into the approach floor behind the foul line.

A six inch to 3 feet of loft distance is an acceptable range if you can repeat the loft distance over and over.

Gaining consistent skid distance results from ball speed launch control, a consistent loft distance beyond the foul line, from consistent finger rotation, and from good body balance while delivering your ball.
