Preparing For A Social Bowling Date
Bowling can be a great date night!
A good bowling date is easy and fun. Once you decide which day you want to go bowling, call ahead to the bowling center and make sure there are lanes open for that night. Bowling leagues and other special events happen on certain days at local bowling centers and are different for each center. You likely don’t want to be standing around waiting for a lane too long. You may have to reserve a lane for later or change the day of the bowling trip. If you're interested, you may also want to ask if that particular alley has a restaurant or just a snack bar.
If you are getting ready for a bowling date and you're not sure how to dress, the most important thing is to dress for comfort. Wear clothing that allows freedom of movement and comfort.
The basic attire when going on a bowling date is a casual shirt and pants or shorts. It is best to wear short sleeves as you will probably get warm while you're bowling. Jeans seem to be the bottoms of choice but shorts or a longer skirt for the ladies can work too. Finally don't forget the socks especially if you plan on renting house bowling shoes. Men should know that most alleys do not permit hats. Another thing to avoid wearing is the plain tank top “wife beaters”. These are typically not permitted along with bandanas or do-rags. Gang attire is definitely not permitted.
Some bowling centers offer lunar or black light bowling which makes it hard to see sometimes. Most bowling dates will be during some type of special event like black light bowling, especially if you go on a weekend.
Being properly prepared when going on a bowling date will make your time spent at the lanes enjoyable. If you are having fun, chances are your date is too.
