Five bowlers from the St. Louis area now hold the record for highest five-player single-game with a 1,457 performance. With games of 289, 300, 279, 300, and 289, Gregg, Ron, Tom G. Tom S. and Mark made bowling history on February 29th.
The team threw an amazing 55 strikes out of the 58 opportunities. Ron and Tom S. both threw perfect games while Gregg and Mark ended with a 10-pin spare conversion in their final throws of frame 10 and Tom G. also converted a 10-pin spare in frame 6.This is the third season this team has competed together in the top-tier 18-team league but they competed against one another locally for years. This league has been said to be highly competitive and the team knew going in, that they would have to bring their “A-Game”. This five-player single game high score was game #1 of the night. Coming down off of the excitement of game #1, the team managed to finish off the night with two more games of 1,233 and 1,099 for a total of 3,789. (791/769/754/743/732)
Paperwork to make the record “official” has yet to be filed and verified by the USBC. The previous record of 1,434 was also bowled in St. Louis but in 2011.
Congratulations to the gentlemen on the team for setting the highly impressive five-player single-game score.
