bowlingball.com continues our series of Editorial articles to express opinions about the bowling industry. This article shares a few more bowling tips of the 1970’s.

Because many bowlers enjoy learning of the way players approached the game decades past, we thought it would be fun to share a few more tips popular in the 1970’s.

If these tips do not directly work for you, they are at the very least ones which were related to the bowling environment years ago.

Here are several more tips we hope you find useful:

“Throw hard and attack the pocket.”

“Let your bowling ball be your guide.”

“Keep your feet slow and let the ball go on time.”

“Keep your bowling shoulder back when following through.”

“Stay in balance and finish every swing”

“Be careful not to overwork or underwork during competition.”

“Use a free swing and control your speed.”

“Catch your target with your bowling hand.”

These tips are not complicated but go to points in the game important to most bowlers.

Most of these tips were “anchors” used by the professionals when competing for titles or prize monies.

If you have ever listened to a PBA Player on TV who was “miked up” utter a reminder tip (anchor) just prior to making a critical shot, you know they believe in the power of simple triggers to their games.

There were many, many tips offered by players and coaches in the 1970’s. The tips are merely a cross section of tips in that era believed to be very useful.

Perhaps you had encounters with great coaches and players who offered tips you would like to share?

Feel free to place your comments in the blog section below and share with us your favorite tips you have enjoyed through the years.

We would like to read your comments.

We thank you in advance for your participation and are anxious to read your what you have to say and why.

Thank You,
