Little things in bowling can make the biggest differences.
If you miss your mark on the lane by only and inch or two, you might miss the pocket and wind up with a split or a tough spare to convert.
If your high performance bowling ball is drilled a little differently from another similar ball, the ball reaction can be quite different.
If your ball is drilled with gripping holes a bit too short or too long, then the ball will not fit your hand properly and you risk making poor shots.
If the pitch angles are drilled in your bowling ball and do not match the natural opening and closing of your hand, then your control might suffer and you risk discomfort to your hand.
If the pinsetter resets the pins off spot by only one half of an inch, then your pin carry will likely be altered due to unpredictable angles of pin deflection on good pocket hits.
If you adjust your sighting target on the lane in the wrong direction, then your ball will either skid too long or not long enough.
Bowling is a game of slight adjustments as you progress through the frames of each game and from game to game.
Bowling well requires strategies and planning and then also requires on-the-spot adjustments as they are needed.
Bowling is a thinking person’s game where paying attention to the smallest details can make enormous differences in results.
Our greatest asset in bowling is our brain and our ability to rationalize adjustments when facing pressure situations. Learning to trust your game, your instincts when your ball reaction changes and an adjustment is required is a part of the competitive game you must develop.
Small adjustments can make a huge difference in results, if done right.
The most important adjustments in bowling are done between our ears.
