Gary Brown Named Managing Director Of IBC Youth Development 10/9/2015

ARLINGTON, Texas - Gary Brown has been named managing director of International Bowling Campus (IBC) Youth Development, supervising all United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and Bowling Proprietors ' Association of America (BPAA) youth programs. Brown will report to the executive directors of USBC and BPAA.

Brown moves into his new role from director of collegiate programs and youth tournaments. He has been part of the IBC staff since 1999 in roles including event management, rules counselor, and director of high school and collegiate.

"We have made great strides since merging the operations of BPAA and USBC youth programs under IBC Youth," BPAA Executive Director Frank DeSocio said. "Gary has a proven track record of great collaboration with all industry stakeholders and we believe he is a great fit to continue the effort."

Brown also brings television event experience to the job, having worked for CBS and ESPN in various production roles of live telecasts. Brown holds a bachelor's degree in sports marketing/management and a master's degree in sports management and athletic administration from Indiana University. He also was a member of the Hoosiers varsity bowling team.

"The recent success and growth of collegiate bowling and national youth tournaments demonstrates Gary's ability to succeed in this role," USBC Executive Director Chad Murphy said. "He brings the perspective of a lifelong bowler along with the business experience needed to lead this critical part of the IBC team."

Brown assumes his new role effective immediately.
