Here is an update from the Kids Bowl Free program with regards to COVID-19. Please read the official statement issued June 23, 2020 below:
"Important announcement from Kids Bowl Free. Certainly these are very uncertain times, frustrating times. Many of us are locked up at home, many have lost their jobs, many are very worried about their businesses. The kids are going stir crazy. The parents are ready for some adult time without the kids.
It’s times like this that we all need to come together and help each other in any way we can.
Kids Bowl Free was founded 13 years ago as a way to help our bowling center clients generate new business during a time they normally were not as busy, while also introducing families to the game of bowling and finally a way to help families save money.
Over the past 13 years over 30,000,000 kids have participated. Many families now look forward to this as a summer tradition.
We’re truly thankful. Our bowling centers are truly thankful.
This year our bowling center clients have been hit especially hard.
The past 6 weeks is traditionally their busiest time of the year. This time of the year allows them to generate the revenue they need to survive until September. Many of them are closed right now or they are operating with limited hours or capacity. Our bowling center clients will need your support more than ever.
Some of them are already offering take-out or delivery food service. If you can find a way to support them now it would be great.
There are some states that are allowing bowling centers to re-open again. Not all centers are opening just because they can. We believe this is wise. In Georgia, a big High 5 to many of our centers that have been communicating why they chose not to open on Friday even though they could have.
Each center is making a decision based upon their ability to open again safely. These centers are taking in to consideration many things right now including how they can sanitize touch points, create distancing and many other logistical issues required in opening a bowling center again.
We know that there will be many dis-agreements as to when and which businesses should re-open. We’re not a political organization and will remove anyone from our page that decides to post anything in regard to COVID here. There are plenty of places that people can rant, rave and share their latest “stats”.
Our position is you need to do what you believe to be safe for you, your family and your community.
If that means you don’t leave home until there is a vaccine that’s great. If you and your family feel safe again in public and you feel safe entering a facility like a bowling center that’s up to you as well whenever your local authorities and bowling centers are open for business again.
Our goals are to be a good partner to our bowling center clients who depend upon Kids Bowl Free to grow their businesses. We’ll continue to have registration open so when your local center is open again you’ll have coupons available.
We believe that at this point it’s best we delay all coupons until 6/1/2020. This way there is not confusion from families getting coupons earlier, yet their center is closed.
Centers on a case by case situation may reach out to us and share that they are open, safely ready for guests to visit again accepting coupons prior to 6/1/20.
We’ll then notify you if you’re registered at that center.
We many have centers communicating with us about extending the program into the Fall and Winter. If your center extends the program we’ll be notifying you as well.
We’ll continue to monitor this situation, but we all hope that sooner than later we can achieve some sort of new normal again."
