Hey Y'all... Stefanie Johnson here...The Verdict is definitely IN! And I am GUILTY for loving this ball!!!! okay, okay.... cheesy but TRUE.

This ball compliments my Diesel perfectly and has made it's way in to my bag.

Very smooth rolling overall for me with enough pop in the back to go through the pins! (Video on Ebonite Facebook and Twitter Pages) This ball was my savior during the U.S. Women's Open and mannnny people in the stands would ask "what ball was I throwing?"

This is going to be a big winner for the Ebonite brand so if you are looking for something on more medium patterns, this is a great option.

The Verdict is definitely in.... my bag!! And it has been the first ball out of the bag during play. I drilled it 60/4 3/4/45. It gets through the heads real smooth and its strong off the spot while going into a strong roll through the pins. It is also very forgiving, and kinda self correcting. If you get it to far right it make the turn with plenty left in the tank, as well if you pull it left it holds well to the pocket. If you are looking for a strong yet very predictable reaction this is your ball.

THIS BALL IS THE "SLEEPER" OF THE NEW BALL LAUNCHES, NEW FAVORITE BALL, MOST VERSITLE BALL I"VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. DONT LET THE COVER FOOL YOU , DOESNT OVERREAD THE DRY AND HAS NO PROBLEM SEEING OIL. PREDICTABLE OFF THE SPOT AND IS A TRUCK THROUGH THE PINS.

The Verdict is quite impressive. This ball is strong, and hard hitting. I've yet to see it overreact. I've drilled 2 of these. The first one was drilled a bit on the strong side. Pin was in a leverage position which caused the ball to flare a ton. I'm reluctant to drill a ball so aggressive as they tend to lose energy so quickly but for me I needed to tame it down. As an experiment, I shined up the ball after touching the cover with a 3000 pad and saw less early reaction but increased move downlane. The adjustment tamed the reaction by about 4-5 boards. The second ball i drilled had a pin placement above the middle finger. This layout cut down the flare. That is something I wanted to do. The hitting power remained without any adjustment to the out of box surface. This reaction provided a strong move in the midlane and controlled reaction. That is ideal for my game which equates to high scores. Overall this is the strongest/powerful piece in the Ebonite line. I'm excited to see what Ebonite does with this new GSV-1 cover in the future.

COMMENTS

The GSV-1 cover is stronger than the GB14.0 used on the Maverick. For me, this ball needs oil up front. It has a quicker response to friction than the Maverick and also gets down the lane a little further. It’s a good first game ball for me in league. My rev rate forces me to play closer to the friction on league patterns, so when the track begins to hook, I have to shell down rather than move left. That’s a constraint of my game, not the ball. Higher rev rates can definitely move into the puddle and send it to the dry. I’ve seen a couple rev guys have great success doing that. The Verdict matches up pretty well for me on medium length sport patterns. I’m able feed it slightly to the right to create the shape I need when I can’t go straight up the boards. As I’ve said before, proper cleaning and surface maintenance is very important with matte finish balls. These new covers absorb so much oil, that they can shine up very quickly.

This ball is my absolute favorite. For me, I have tested this ball from 1000-4000, and polished 1000-4000. I use this ball mainly for game one because it loves the oil, but if the lanes are drier, this ball is amazing at 3000 polished. Ebonite really outdid themselves with this ball. It doesn't matter what style player you are, this ball should be in your bag whether it's league or tournament play.

Brand new cover stock wrapped around a proven/then improved upon core. I drilled my verdict 50•6•35 which is my favorite layout for HP balls. At factory finish this ball gives me decent length with plenty of recovery downlane. With Ebonite previous HP ball, the Maverick, I was unable to move deeper and maintain carry. With the Verdict I have been able to move as deep as is needed on a given pattern without losing carry. This ball will be best suited for heavier house shots and sport patterns longer than 40 ft.

COMMENTS
The Verdict is a great new piece by Ebonite. It comes with a new generation coverstock GSV-1, which takes the ball motion to something unique in the industry. Combine the new cover with a next generation core, Justice, and you get ball motion that bowlers will become dependent on.
The Verdict’s optimal lane condition is something with higher volume. I used it right out of the box on a high volume house pattern and it read the body of the lane perfectly. I have also shined it up and used it on less volume house patterns and the same type of ball motion developed. The new GSV-1 is extremely versatile, which allows for many different types of bowlers to use the Verdict. Here is what stands out in this ball and is unique to the market – when transition develops it still blends out the pattern. When most balls read the oil depletion area abruptly, the Verdict still creates a smooth transition allowing you to maintain the strike pocket. This is unique in most balls. This allows the bowler to make an adjustment without the penalty. I usually make a physical move with my feet and target. After several transitions, I will usually change to a ball that creates increased entry angle as the lane moves me toward the center of the lane.
The Verdict is a one of a kind ball, creates a large margin of error through transition and provides the bowler with many different options. Dominate the Day with the Verdict!

About the Bowler

This ball has filled a hole in my bag I've been looking to fill for a very long time. I absolutely love this ball. This ball is very versatile and is a great compliment to my Mako. I've been searching for a ball that can handle some oil, but still give me some down lane motion and this ball is just that. The Verdict also allows me to keep moving left and I don't lose carry. Everyone should have one

I was very excited for this one having been a fan of the Warrior and Maverick line of bowling balls. What I loved about both lines prior to this one is how consistent and even rolling they were throughout the lane but I could not throw them for very long as they wanted to read the lane so early, they required lots of head oil.

The all new coverstock wrapped around the verdict provides maximum usability without sacrificing the high performance natures of the line. Having drilled mine pin down, I can easily start with it early in blocks on challenging conditions but this ball is great to start with on your normal league night. Because of the new coverstock technology, this ball clears the front easily but doesn’t flip off the dry on the “over-walled” house patterns.

This ball is a great compliment to the previously released Matrix as these two balls have been my “HSKs” as of late. Head to the pro shop and see for yourself!

Ebonite Verdict is an addition I think every bowler could use to their bag. To me this is a stronger Gamebreaker and will see play on various types of conditions. Very archy ball with a great continuation downlane. This ball just keeps one coming! Great for houses with more volume or a fresh/transition ball for competitive bowlers. The Verdict is in and this ball is good!

This ball is one phenomenal piece to throw! This ball handles the fresh heavy oil patterns with ease and as the pattern breaks down all you have to do is keep moving your feet because it never quits and will continue to work no matter how deep you get!

I'm a Track guy so it's really hard for me to throw anything else, but Ive always been a fan of Ebonite and wanted to give this one a try.

I drilled this with one of my go to layouts 60 x 5" x 45

I wanted to compare this to another ball that I drilled the same day with the same layout, a Track Ruby Kinetic.

This ball created was much cleaner through the front part of the lane with much more backend action. The kinetic wanted to read much earlier and much smoother off the break. Needless to say I was very surprised that I could get in with this ball and still create angles and not have it burn up on me.

This will be a great ball for longer patterns.

Layout 55 x 5 1/8 x 40.

What can you say about this ball? It's designed to hook and hook it does. I knew this ball was going to be a bit rolly and expected it to gain traction pretty early. This ball has done exactly that for me.

With the ball being as strong as it is, I've run into a couple issues leaving a few corners pins. However, I've touched it with a 2000 abralon and rolled it on heavier oil patterns and it's certainly helped the carry.

If you're looking for a strong ball, this is one I would certainly recomment.

When my Affinity is going too long, I switch to my Verdict and am able to play the same part of the lane and get the ball to start carrying immediately. They are a great two ball combo, my two bench mark balls to read the lane.

Axis Rotation: 10 Degrees

Bowling Ball: Verdict

Test Pattern: THS

Initial Thoughts:
I tend to not use high performance balls just because of my rev rate and the strength of the ball just don’t match up. They usually flare out on me or “burn up”. But the Verdict doesn’t, it just keeps going. I have never had a high end sanded bowling ball that gets through the lane this clean and stores energy so it can continue through the pins. This new coverstock technology is really something special, it really is Good Stuff!! With core numbers at 2.48 rg and 0.055, I get a lot of flare with the Verdict. I have been able to use this on House Shots with success, which is something I am very rarely able to do with strong cored balls, as well as a variety of long, short and medium sport patterns. It is truly a very special ball. I get quite a bit of angle down lane from the Verdict but it’s a rounded angle. It doesn’t spark off of the pattern but just a very, very hard arc. Along with the great ball motion, the cover is very durable. Usually with dull bowling balls, they tend to get a lot on “lane shine” on them after about 20-30 games and they need to be resanded to get them back to the gritty finish. Not the Verdict, this ball doesn’t shine up like the others do. I had almost 100 games on mine before I started to see and lane shine and had to sand it back down. It’s been like this for everyone I have drilled one for as well. When you can keep your surface on the ball the same through a league or tournament, great things happen, consistent ball reaction!

Best Uses:
Any and all patterns and styles of play, this ball is that good!

The Verdict is a really good ball for a fresh house shot or any pattern with a fair amount of oil. This ball is very strong for me on my normal house shot but is great for the tournaments I Bowl in. I highly recommend having one of these balls on your arsenal.

The Verdict is the most user friendly ball in Ebonite’s HP line of balls. The Justice core is the best version of the Warrior core in my opinion. The GSV1 cover allows the core to put all that power to the the lane surface. The Verdict has better continuation than the Warrior supreme and Original Meverick. The strength and predictability should be enough to put one of these in your tournament bag.

Ebonite Verdict Ball Review:

Scott GIlmore - Ebonite Amateur Staff Member & Tournament Director for Ebonite Lafayette Open

Every year you have a favorite ball that gets released. Well mine this year is the Verdict. This ball has the "It" factor. There is something about this blue/green cover color I like. This ball is so smooth and strong for me. I drilled my first one pin up with about a 3-1/2" pin. It gets down the lane nicely, with a strong down lane reaction. When I bowl league or begin warming up for a tournament, this is the ball I start with. I just ordered another and will be drilling it pin down when I need a little earlier reaction. You will not be disappointed with this ball. Ebonite has hit a home run here!

This ball received a lot of attention at Bowl Expo. After drilling two, I understand why so much attention. My pinup is clean thru the fronts and turns the corner down lane with continuation thru the pins. Pin down reads the front a bit sooner and is smoother down lane, with continuation thru the pins. The Verdict is in. You owe it to yourself to get one or two.

WOW! This ball is incredible. No matter how far left you find yourself having to move during the day, it keeps making the corner and hitting hard.

I threw this ball in two separate tournaments over the weekend, on the same pattern, but Sunday had 2 extra bowlers per pair. I didn't have to stray away from this ball once. I just kept making the moves left and this ball kept turning the corner like a champ. Highly recommended for someone that needs some hook in their bag.

Verdict...."Guilty"
Best Ebonite asymmetric ball since The One. This ball will get through the front part of lane clean with the "out of the box" surface. The ball path is consistent and surprisingly tries to have a continuous motion on the backend.

My first Verdict is drilled pin above bridge and no balance hole(55 x 4 3/4 x 40). There will surely be additional Verdict's coming. I have bowled on short, medium, long and Sport patterns and so far this ball is the real deal!

The verdict is an absolute beast and will be a homerun for all types of bowlers on heavier oil. I drilled mine 75x5x75. It picks up strong in the mids without burning up and has very predictable down lane motion. The best part about this ball is it gives me more room for error and carries half pocket shots as well as any ball I've thrown. It also impressed me with how deep I can get without losing carry. This ball is amazing. By far the best ball I've seen in a long time. I had the chance to compare this to my Mako. I only had around 15 games on my Mako before getting the Verdict. The Verdict is stronger overall by at least 2-3 boards. It has some good backend recovery. This ball doesn't snap off the backend. It honestly reminds me of a smoother version of the Complete NV.

The new Ebonite Verdict is a Track Paradox on steroids. The verdict has a very strong overall ball motion. There is no skid/flip in this ball. Stong midlane and strong continuation for an aysmmetrical ball. The Verdict has the all-new GSV-1 Solid overstock. I went with my favorite layout at 65 x 5 1/2 x 40. I have used the Verdict on some medium to heavy sport conditions. It opened up the lane like no other ball has before. Very driller friendly.

Wanted to get a few sets in and some practice before writing this because
I think this ball is special. Talk about a ball that just flat out hooks and does not
quit on the back end. Maybe it's just me, but this ball seems to carry better than anything
I have in my bad. Drilled mine pin down so it picks up earlier which allows me to move left on the house
shot patterns where I tend to have an issue with the puddle. This ball eliminates that issue. The more I move
left the more it wants to recover. In the Ebonite line, its easier 5 boards stronger than my Maverick.
The ball also really shines on the sport patterns that I have had a chance to throw it on. This is a ball any serious
tournament bowler should have.

About the Bowler

The Verdict is an excellent piece to have in any bowler's bag. I have drilled three of these so far, and each one acts as a different fill for my bag.

I drilled one pin down, and it starts as early as my Tyrant, but is much more continuous. The other two are both later: one gives a continuous motion that serves as a benchmark, and the other goes even longer, with a strong, angular reaction.

This ball is something. I through it at trade show, so I saw it was super strong in the midlane and great continuation. With seeing that I decided to use a 90x5x30 layout. With my roll balls tend to read a little earlier so I wanted to get some length with a 90 degree drill angle. With that it is still a strong read in the midlane and continuation through the pins. My first full game in league with this ball resulted in a 300 game, so I would definitely say the verdict is in.

This ball is a very special piece. Picks up in the midlane a it doesnt quite like some hp balls tend to do. No matter how far left i went this ball still came back and went through the pins great. So far i thrown it on longer sport patterns and house patterns with alotnof volume in the middle. This ball just performs and is very predictable. Dont miss out on this great piece.

About the Bowler

I recently drilled the new Ebonite Verdict. I have only thrown it on 47 foot PBA Scorpion. It gave me a very good, desired looked as the ball is very strong. However, it was not as strong as past favorites like the Paradox and Raw Urge. But still a very good first ball out of the bag for anyone.

I have the Verdict drilled up 70 x 4 ¾ x 55 and left it at box finish. It does pick up well in the mid-lane. When it starts its turn down lane there is no stopping it. It has a continuous back-end and hits like a truck. Whether you are playing outside & up the boards or have moved to the inside shot…. This ball just performs…. No doubt that this ball is a must have.

Had an opportunity to throw this ball at Bowl Expo in Nashville before it was logo'd, and when I saw this ball come to fruition, I already knew it was gonna be good. Left the cover alone, brand new GSV-1 Cover, and put a 50x4x40 on it, and threw it on some fresh house. The continuation and predictability were noticeable, especially when compared to other HP balls. The modified Mav/Warrior core has produced the Justice core which is a very bottom centric core shape.
Most league bowlers could use this ball on the fresh, with the notion of moving left or changing to the next ball down in their arsenal somewhere trough their set. Tourny players can always fit a ball like this in, and with a cover/layout change maybe a 2nd.

I have thrown the Ebonite Verdict, Ebonite's newest HP bowling ball. I have thrown this on a few THS and a pattern. Ebonite took some proven winners with coverstock and weight block, and made this ball, which will be another winner. I have this drilled pin up, CG in alignment. This ball picks up well in the mid lane, with a nice angle down the lane. The blue/green color combo, with yellow writing gives it eye appeal also. The Verdict is in (literally), go get one 8/8/17!!!
