About the Bowler
Bowling Hand    Right Handed
Experience    Advanced (I have bowled in a league)
League Average    201
Sport Shot Average    170
Ball Speed    Medium
Style    Tweener
PAP    4 3/4, -3/8

Disclaimer:
I am a "Power Tweener"

Avg. Ball Speed:
14.5 mph

Reason for purchase:
I have the "Strike King" (my favorite ball...ever) and a couple of "Slingshots" (one pin down, the other pin up.). Typically, the "Strike King" forces me further left (more than I want/to play in the oil and keep the ball reaction predictable). Also sometimes it comes in a little sharp (solid 9 pins or 4-9s) when the lanes start to break down.

Additionally, playing deeper shots can be problematic because it goes longer before it flips. I expected the "Ringer Platinum Pearl" to play milder (than the "Strike King") on the same patterns but hitting harder than the "Slingshot" (which doesn't drive as hard as the "Strike King"). I wanted something I could play a littler straighter on the fresh and that I could stick with a little longer when the lanes are in transition.

Reality:
The ball is awesome. It hits hard and constantly drives through the pins. The pins explode...like I'm rolling a hand grenade instead of a bowling ball. It doesn't push down the lane quite as long as the "Strike King" but it seems to explode off the break point (without over-reacting). Please don't miss understand my excitement (I LOVE my "Strike King") but this ball is something different.

I've got just shy of 10 games on it and I don't want to put it down. I think the "Strike King" and "Ringer Platinum Pearl" make a great 1-2 punch for medium lanes. I think the "Ringer Platinum Pearl" will quickly eclipse the "Strike King" as my favorite especially when playing on sport patterns and in tournament play.
