About the Bowler
Bowling Hand    Right Handed
Experience    Advanced (I have bowled in a league)
Ball Speed    Medium
Style    Tweener
In my 30+ years of bowling, I have owned great balls, and some not so much. This one fits the former. As a user of tried and true Roto Grip, I was hesitant to try a ball made by Brunswick...but their new DV8 brand really delivers.

This new HRR is great, and very versatile. With 4000 grit, it goes long and snaps HARD. With 2000 grit (OOB), it reads perfectly, gives more arc, yet still has some snap in the back. With either finish, it hits like a wrecking ball.

Mine is drilled for length with good backend. 3 1/2" pin drilled up 1 1/2" above ring finger with MB 1 1/2" right of thumb. Pin, CG and MB are all in a straight line.

This ball is very readable and is now the first out of my bag. The hitting power is always there and it seems to carry everything. Pins stay low and fly everywhere...sometimes out onto the lane. The HRR is very forgiving as well...high hits and light hits strike. This is crucial for keeping a string going.

Heavy oil is no problem for this ball, yet it can still be used as the lanes break down. This is the sign of a great coverstock. The core revs nicely with no problems during migration. It retains energy downlane and has great continuation through the pins.

This ball is fun to strike with. The strings are long and it's fun to wheel it and watch it come back and kill the rack. Going up the boards is equally satisfying...this ball is truly amazing!

I look to buy a second with a pin-down layout for long patterns with extreme carrydown...and maybe a third drilled pin-up with polish. This ball is just that good!

All in all, DV8 has a winner here. The HRR is powerful, predictable and versatile...exactly what every bowler needs for demanding conditions AND the THS.

Strike on, my friends...
