Brunswick C (System) ulti-max Reviewed By: IGFET2288 08/24/2011 14:53 ( stars)

This is the second C-System ball (I have the Alpha-Max, also, which is a great ball) that I have acquired over the past five months, and I am very pleased with it. I decided to go radical with Maximum Hook & Arc with a High Track ("Parker Bohn Favorite Layout"). I have big hands and decided that I would rely on a larger thumbhole so that I could remove my thumb rather easily. An extra hole had to be drilled on the right side so that the Ulti-Max would be USBC-compliant. The result? The ball seems even lighter than the Alpha-Max even though they both weigh 16 pounds. And while it's early in my ownership and use of the Ulti-Max, the results speak for themselves. On Saturday (August 20) I took the Ulti-Max along with the Alpha-Max for what I call a "road test". By Game 5 I tossed a 278 with the Alpha-Max and Ulti-Max blend, easily the highest score I've earned in a very long time. Similarly, on Monday, August 22, when in league competition, the combination of the Alpha-Max and Ulti-Max balls delivered a 217, 181 and 205 for a 603 series. This Saturday, when I go to practice, I will put more focus on utilizing the Ulti-Max ball and less emphasis on the Alpha-Max ball so that I really get a good read of the new acquisition. So far, the Ulti-Max ball is excellent and I expect even better results down the line. IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH THE INVESTMENT. Not only does it perform well, it looks great, too!
