The Copperhead targets one of the most popular reactions in the bowling ball industry, Reactive Solid Sanded. This type of ball reaction is embraced by many bowlers as the best all-around combination of coverstock and surface finish. Providing high hook potential with a controllable ball reactions and good pin carry.

Technology
Aggressive Reactive Coverstock: PowrKoil 18 coverstock is a proven performer that has probably been on more bowling balls than any other Reactive coverstock in the bowling industry. PowrKoil 18 has been used on some of Brunswick's most successful balls including the Danger Zone, Red Alert and BVP Nemesis. Aggressive in the oil and strong off the dry, PowrKoil 18 is a perennial favorite among all styles of bowlers.

Low RG Rocket Core: The Copperhead uses Brunswick's Multi-Sided Rocket Core System which provides a low RG to help the ball rev-up sooner and create tremendous mid-lane recovery.

800-Grit Wet Sand Finish: The Copperhead is finished with an 800-grit wet sand finish which will allow most bowlers to match-up to both freshly oiled and moderately broken down house conditions. Plenty of traction on all but the oiliest lanes combined with a strong backend reaction. The low Rg, combined with the 800 grit finish, helps the Copperhead bite the lane quicker and send poison to the pins.

Reaction Characteristics
•Out of the Box: With its 800-grit wet sand surface, the Copperhead matches up well on most medium to oily house conditions.

• When Dulled: The Copperhead's hooking action will increase and its arc will become more even, creating a better match-up for oily lane conditions and for smoothing over/under reactions seen on wet/dry lane conditions.

• When Shined: With either Brunswick's Factory Finish “High Gloss Polish” or “Rough Buff”, your Copperhead will go longer in the oil and react stronger to the dry creating a more skid/snap arc. High Gloss Polish creates more length than Rough Buff.

Reaction Setup
The Copperhead can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for two-piece balls, see the drilling instructions link below for reaction characteristics and layout details.

The Copperhead is finished with a dull 800-grit surface which increases its hooking action in the oil. Dull surface finishes can sometimes hook too early resulting in reduced backend reaction and hitting power. To increase length, polish the surface with Brunswick's Factory Finish Rough Buff. To increase length and create and even more skid/snap reaction use Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish.

The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

BALL FINISH 4000 ABRALON

PIN TO PAP 5 1/2 @ 45* NO HOLE

Its STRIKING APPEARANCE and DEADLY ball reaction make this is the ball for those people who think that a ball has to be a high priced ball in order to handle heavy oil.It does not tend to burn up early (like some high priced balls do), has a strong mid lane roll, and a very controllable move towards the pocket. People with high ball speeds and low rev rates will benefit by having this ball in their bag. I love to throw this ball on fresh THS and some of the longer PBA patterns and find it hard to put away some times because I feel that I can strike every time that the ball is in my hands.

About the Bowler
Bowling Hand    Right Handed

I bought my first ball used from a guy I used to bowl on a league with and I just bought the Copperhead and love it. I bowled a 130-140 with my Hammer but now I bowl a 160-180 and still getting better. This ball works great on any lane condition and where I bowl league they use very heavy oil and the Cooperhead is the only ball that can hook great in the lane on the first to last game. This is a great ball from Brunswick at a great price.

The first of October all of my equipment was destroyed in a car wreck (after someone stole my car and totalled it). I had recently switched all of my equipment to the TURBO Switch-grip for my thumb holes. The only thing I had left was a thumb slug (switch grip).

Well I went to my pro-shop guy and told him what happened and that I had to wait for the insurance to replace all of my equipment. They have a program \"Try before you buy\". He pulled the COPPERHEAD off the shelve. I used it for about three weeks before the insurance started paying on my claim. I bowled 670, 640, and 650 (I average 200-210). Of course the span was not exact, but I was able to use it. I loved this ball so much I bought one before the insurance started paying for my equipment.

The first night out of the gate I shout a 698. Should have been 750, but I still have not replaced my spare ball. Missed several ten pins. Matter of fact Second I opened the 9th and 10th because of ten pins (shot 228).

I have this ball drilled pretty straight up. I totally LOVE this ball. It is the best ball for the money I have bought since the Danger Zone. This ball recovers very well.

This ball is so great that I am buying another and punching it up as aggressive as possible.

It is a must have in your arsenal

Brunswick Copperhead Reviewed by: t11rexK 10/07/2008 15:15

The Brunswick Copperhead ball is the first mid level performance ball I have ever owned for bowling. I have been bowling for about 35 years. My current average is 201 and I have previously always purchased high performance balls from bowlingball.com like the Twisted Fury, Cell, Total Inferno, etc. and paid the higher prices than that of the Copperhead. The ball was free from a Sport league I bowled in vice a money payout. I ordered a 14lb ball and it came with 1 to 2" pin and 2.9 ozs. of top weight. In the past I have always ordered 3 to 4 inch pin, 2.5 to 3ozs. of top weight. So, I was a little concerned about the performance of this ball. I had the ball drilled with the most aggressive pattern possible with the pin i inch right of the ring finger and 1/2" down from the ring finger hole with a balance hole 4 inches right of the finger holes and between the thumb and fingers. The first game out of the box was a 233 on a practice lane condition (little oil). Two days later with the same lane condition a 255. Last night in league with a normal house shot oil pattern were games of 188, 226, 245 for a 659 series. I usually leave a lot of 10 pins with my high tech balls but not so with this ball. It seems to carry corner pins better. I am very pleased with this ball and it has now become the ball I start with rather than go to. I can hardly wait to try it on a Sport condition. I feel this ball performs very well on different lane conditions and is an excellent choice for bowlers of any age at any level that want a very good ball for a very good bowlingball.com price. By the way I have found that as I got older (now 61) I felt the need to get away from 15 and 16lb balls since they start to wear me out after about 4 games. I started using 14lb balls about a year ago. I can now bowl about eight to ten games before I start to feel tired with the 14lb balls and my average has stayed consistently between 200 and 211.

This review is on the newest addition to Brunswick's BVP line, the Copperhead!

The Copperhead, in my opinion, is one of the most versatile balls around. It uses the most successful coverstock of all-time, the Powrkoil 18, as well as the tremendous, low RG Rocket Core. With the Powrkoil 18 you know you're getting a ball that is going to hook (especially at the box finish of 800 grit) and will last you a long time. The use of the low RG Rocket Core makes this ball start up sooner, and makes it a great choice for heavier volume patterns. What I love about the Copperhead is that it is also great polished! I've drilled these for customers and when polished it becomes the ultimate benchmark ball! So having a couple of these beauties in your bag at different surfaces would be a great idea! Pick up a BVP Copperhead and you won't be disappointed!

I recently drilled one for a customer. Pin below the fingers in the middle and cg directly under the pin (1-2" pin). The reaction that he got was clean thru the heads, good roll in the mid lane and a controllable arc on the back end (box finish).

I polished it for him and the reaction he got was about 2' more skid and more of a snap on the back end.

I would recommend this ball to any looking for a performance ball at mid performance price
