Violet Hook Dark - bowlingball.com Exclusive Specs
Based on our Perfect Scale™ ratings, may we also suggest the following items.
The Quantum Violet Hook Dark is a bowlingball.com Exclusive. We have brought back numerous Quantum's over the years and this time we brought it back in a variation of the original color. The Quantum Violet Hook Dark brings you all the same characteristics of the original Violet Hook but with a highly polished coverstock and a darker color and a little more distance.
Introducing the Quantum Violet Hook Dark. The Violet Hook Dark is a 3-component, CAD optimized design, with a 2-part compound core, surrounded by the Quantum highly reactive coverstock. The Violet Hook Dark produces an early change in direction, a strong backend, and maximum hooking action.
The Violet Hook Dark is the most reactive Quantum yet. Designed for maximum hooking action, an early roll, and strong backend, the Violet Hook Dark will change direction and hook when other balls continue to skid. Heavily oiled conditions are more easily conquered with the Quantum Violet Hook Dark.
The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

We had this ball remade because the coverstock and the core technology is still considered cutting edge. The Quantum line by Brunswick was the first bowling ball to take into account that each different weight needed a different core to maintain dynamic integrity. Every weight flares and rolls almost identically. Engineered by the mechanical engineers at Brunswick this ball continues to be at the top of the list when engineering is at the core of the design of the bowling ball. You will find the Quantum Violet Hook ball to arc smoothly and yet aggressively down the lane under almost any lane condition. Whether the lanes are flooded with oil or are extremely dry this ball can still be used. None of the Quantum line rolls out early and the coverstock on every Quantum can be fine tuned to the bowlers game by changing the coverstock with polish applied by hand or a dulling agent also applied by hand. The Quantum line is one of the easiest bowling balls ever made to maintain. The only reason that the Quantum line was first pulled from production was due to the misinformation coming from pro shops that were not authorized distributors. When the Quantum was first released Brunswick would only allow so many authorized dealers within a certain mile radius. The prices were also set by Brunswick and could not be sold for less. Pro shops that did not get in early were upset because only one pro shop in the area could handle the product, therefore the bad press from these pro shops. Many of our biggest customers today are pro shops themselves that resell this product to their customer.

The Quantum Violet Hook Dark - bowlingball.com Exclusive bowling ball does a great job with fresh back ends, and hits like an absolute truck. Has some problems with carry-down, but still a very good ball for every bowler to keep in his or her arsenal.

I am a left-handed bowler, low-medium revs with medium speed. The Quantum Violet Hook Dark - bowlingball.com Exclusive bowling ball is very good in its sanded condition. The issue that I had with it is that I bought it expecting it to be able to handle heavy oil, but it doesn't seem to do that. Moreover, what it really doesn't seem to like is carry down. However, if you get this puppy out on some fresh back ends, this ball will hit like a freaking truck. It also seems to be very responsive to hand action. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.

This ball is good for medium oil. It doesn't absorb any oil because it is so polished. It hits the pins very hard I usually find I get the best scores in the third game when the lanes have dried out a little.
